    Swordfish and Shrimp Tacos Plate

Great Lunch Spot! Took some of our town friends for lunch at Roe. Their menu is perfect for a lighter or heavier lunch with many options including some non-seafood options. Their raw platters, really towers, are amazing! Their fish and chips, best around. Fish tacos, with freshly grilled fish, always a big hit! Our family favorite is their swiordfish tacos! They do great civktails and have a nice selection of lical.beers on tap! I ordered the fried crispy chicken sandwich with a side salad. One friend ordered the taco plate, one swordfidh and one swordfish. My ither friend ordered Griled Swordfish plate and it came with very tasty Brussel Sprouts! Very happy with our food! Our server was Keith and he waa excellent. Patient while my friends studied the menu to make decisions. I asked if swordfish was available today (isn't regularly on the menu) and took.the time to find out. Their Seafood Store next door often carries it! Both my friends ordered swirdfish! The atmosphere inside makes you feel like you are outside. Relaxing with very calming decor. Lunch time was very quiet and we wete not rushed out. Roe is one of our local favorite restaurants. I recommend it often. Their Happy Hour is one of the best on 2nd Street!

We came in for a birthday dinner and were seated promptly for our reservation time. Service was friendly. Inside of the restaurant is nice and airy, perfect for summer dinners. The food however was not memorable. Most things were bland and under-seasoned. The poke nachos and raw scallops were probably the best thing we ate.

Had a long day at the beach and decided to go eat. Felt underdressed but I was hungry. We walked in but weren't acknowledged by the person at the front. It took another person to see us to get us seated. Waitress was nice and recommended her favorite item on the menu. Food was delicious. The only thing was the salmon was oily, but the way it was seasoned was delicious. Clam chowder bowl was big enough for 2 people to share. It was one of the best clam chowders I've had. I'm sure i'll be back!

This place was recommended by a friend . So the food was very good and the service and ambiance was nice . Prices was a little high but that is to be expected for a seafood restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be back .

Grilled Fish Taco and Fried Fish Taco (tortillas were dry/old so they broke at the bottom while eating.

Came here for happy hour on a Monday in my search to find a favorite Long Beach happy hour location! The restaurant is beautiful - we pass it all the time the and never had a chance to try it. We got their oysters (Baja), a mahi fish taco, a fried cod fish taco, rock fish ceviche tostada, a happy poke bowl, and a chicken bowl. The oysters were ok, I wish they got more creative with the mignonette. The fish taco fillings were great, but the tortilla they put it in was too dry (maybe old?), so they both broke apart while eating the tacos, creating a mess. We did like the ceviche tostada and the happy poke bowl, which were both light and flavorful. The chicken bowl was ok- very saucy, tender, but would have been better served with rice. Service was just ok, nothing too memorable, but food did come out fast. May return again, but will continue my search for happy hour spots in the LBC!

Roe has a new Thursday night special of Oysters and Bubbles. A dozen oysters on the half shell and a full size bottle of Italian Sparkling Wine for $35. My friends and I checked it out....and had a great experience! The Rockefeller Oysters and Peruvian Scallops were also terrific. The wait staff were excellent and made our time there fun! Roe is an upscale seafood restaurant and bar. Tables are nicely spaced, avoiding that overcrowded feeling. As the weather warms, the outdoor patio space will open. It happened, that I had lunch there a few days later.... The tuna sandwich is delicious!!

Great happy hour specials 3-6 pm Monday thru Friday, nice spacious restaurant, outside seating, and friendly staff. We went on a weekday and enjoyed $10 cosmopolitan and $10 Paloma. Great selection of small bites for $10 or under and we enjoyed fish and chips, sesame chicken, poke bowl, and potato's. Everything was good and a great deal!! Will definitely be back and worth a visit.

Awesome in the summer. Great and fresh fish. We walk by here all the time as we live close. Great service and great vibes. We normally get a few tacos from the fish market and something to drink. Will keep doing so the only reason for four stars is the prices. They could lower them a bit. Anywho still a cool place

Food was good! I got the scallops and it was very tasty and I liked the risotto with it as well. Everyone really enjoyed their food. We were a party of 12 and they refused to do separate checks or even to split the check more than 3 ways so we assumed they would split the check by orders. However the waiter didn't tell us until the very end it wss by amount and not by what was ordered so we all had to calculate how much we ordered and dranked. It was chaotic and unnecessarily stressful for 12 people who have been eating and drinking for the last 1-2 hrs to sit there for 30 minutes and calculate who ordered what and how much that cost plus tax etc etc. they should have been able just to do separate checks or split it up by dishes ordered.

I pop into Roe every now and then for a snack and a drink, sometimes to watch football. The space is predictably equal parts airy and cozy, and the staff is always nice. This, however, is a cocktail appreciation post. I had the Negroni Fiori and it was a perfect pick-me-up for a Sunday afternoon. Wonderfully bitter and refreshing, served with a custom ice block. Love that Roe's cocktail program is always evolving in the best ways!

First timers here tonight & ROE did not disappoint. Great food, drinks & service. Atmosphere is great too. From the first bite to the last, everything we ordered was delicious. Drinks were perfectly made. Kudos to our server Ben! He definitely delivered great service.

I got the arugula, beet salad with chicken and my boyfriend got the burger

I had such an amazing dinner here with my boyfriend tonight. My salad was so delicious as well as my boyfriend's burger. We had the calamari for appetizer which also was very tasty. Will definitely come back to try out other things from the menu.

Ordered with Half dozen Oyster and Popcorn Shrimp, tastes extremely fresh and juicy. The guy looks very cute. Parking is the biggest problem that we looked for half an hour and finally got one nearby.

    Steamers appetizer.

Does Roe Xpress have their own dining area?

Yes they do. Inside and out. Like cafe tables.

Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!

First off, street parking can be a challenge, but we were able to find a spot right away. It is a very small restaurant, but kudos to the owners and architect who made really good use of the space. When you walk in, it is transformed, and you feel like you are in a whole different environment. The decor, the lighting, the layout, the furniture make this place spectacular and great photo ops. They have a huge TV for watching sports especially the World Cup, which was playing when we got there. They have a bar area. We got there right when they opened so I think the waiter was still setting things up, but was super friendly to us. The manager arrived and helped us since the waiter was still setting up. The manager, Carlos, was extremely friendly and helpful. And another couple walked in to eat, and they were attended to very quickly by the manager as well. We asked for ceviche, although we know they had just opened and breakfast was being served, however they were more than accommodating to get us ceviche. Even the tableware matched everything about this restaurant. I enjoyed the wood piece table wear and the set up. To start, we were brought tostadas. It looked like a couple of them may have been made with nopale, they were green. They included a roasted mild salsa with the tostadas. The presentation of the ceviche was stunning! They gave us a small jar of their salsa macha, which is an oil based red seed chili. It's amazing on everything, but especially on top of the ceviche. The portion was generous. They also gave us more tostadas and crackers. They also have unique desserts, I think I've read they make their ice cream in house and they had flavors like beet and avocado. Definitely need to try the next time I return. I highly recommend this place. I cannot wait to return to try their breakfast and other entrees. It's going to be hard not to order the ceviche as well because it's gotta be the best in the area. Definitely a new fave spot!

We also ordered the hummus, which was so rich and creamy, and the oysters from the raw bar. For the main, we ordered the Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Wedge salad to share. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. First full meal so there were some options in what to have. Menu wise has an array of everything. Starter, sandwiches/burgers, salads, and entrees. As it is a seafood place, we heard that their fish and chips were great. So we went with that and an order of the shrimp po boy which was recommended. Plus as the last time we had the chili cheese fries which was great, an order of that was place as well. Food didn't take too long to arrive. Chili cheese fries came out first. It's not your typical fries but potatoes wedge slices. It was good but last time was way better. It was covered and drenched with chili and cheese as this time was barely any. Good but a little disappointing. Entrees, it's always a little iffy when it comes to fish and chips as the batter tends to be too much. Well, it was decent. Wouldn't say it was excellent but decent. Served with cole slaw and a side of tartar sauce. Then the shrimp po boy, that was also served with fries. Half a roll with shredded lettuce, tomatoes slices, red onion and pickles. There were four pieces of fried shrimp which was over cooked and very crunchy. It was a little disappointing as I had high hopes and it was recommended. The place is great for a drink and hanging out. Food, it was just ok. The only time I enjoyed something was the last time with the chili cheese fries. This time, it was ok.
