The pizza was decent, but we waited over half an hour to get it because the cashier was too busy having a very loud, profanity riddled conversation with her friends to notice that our order was done and waiting in the kitchen. I'm not uptight about occasional swearing but doing it excessively in front of customers (particularly customers with children) is unprofessional, and ignoring them to socialize is even more so. The food here is delicious. Unfortunately, the service staff is less than excited to serve customers, and downright abrasive if you stop in after 11 PM. Additionally, their menu board prices do not reflect their actual prices, and they'll admit to it. Make sure you're not banking on price alone, and have a couple extra bucks to reflect the "increase in price." Bottom line: your best bet is to order delivery if you're local; the staff would rather not deal with an in-person customer that has any specific requests. They're falafel is delicious and the usual staff are always nice. My only issue is they hired a woman who lets her kids holler and run around the shop (front and back of the shop, one was even sloppily helping to prepare the food) in the evening. The worst sub I have ever had, and I have had ALOT of subs. I went to pick it up minutes after I ordered it and it was soggy, with some weird pink sauce?? On an Italian sub. I have ordered a lot from this place but I am done now. I placed a order for delivery for chicken subs and received steaks. When I call back I receive a bad attitude before I prove i was right. Then after them admitted I was right, and they will deliver it back shortly they call back again and claim that the order was placed a long time ago, which shouldn't matter. Today was the first time in my life that I have ever returned a slice of pizza. The cheese looked like it was congealed. I thought the pizza had been sitting out for too long, but they said it had been made within the hour. I couldn't even choke down a whole bite. It was, by far, the worst piece of pizza I have ever had. I would avoid this place at all costs. I also tried the falafel, which wasn't terrible, but didn't really have a taste. The one positive about the place was the manager, who was really friendly and refunded my money immediately. The guy who was working behind the counter on the other hand, asked if I had ever had pizza before and said there must be something wrong with me for not liking it. As I was leaving, he said I should come back because they have the best pizza in Baltimore. King's grilled kabob is a sister concern of King's pizza which has pretty good reviews on yelp. I decided to review them separately so it is not all mixed up. I had a kabob platter for dinner 2 Decembers ago ago(take-out), which was okay in taste and cost some 13 bucks which wasn't particularly cheap two years ago. Yesterday, I tried the lunch buffet which is south asian, $6.99 per head. Don't expect fireworks....they have some 6-9 dishes in small containers that have hard to maneuver lids and you serve yourself. These included 3 veg dishes(passable), rice, 1 goat dish(good) and 3-4 chicken dishes. Most lacked flavor. No naan or other flatbread, no dessert etc. I also tried the Baklava- $3 for 3 pieces of which one was good. The waitstaff was probably MIA. Tablecloths could benefit from a wash. All in all, okay for a hot lunch if you happen to be in the neighborhood, but do not expect the "traditional" buffet with bells and whistles that you see in an Indian restaurant in the US. read more

King's is one of the only places in the neighborhood with a kitchen open later than 11:00 PM (until 2:00 AM on the weekends), so it works if you just need a pizza after everyone else has closed. But I've gotta call this out: what is up with the wings? They're terrible. The "buffalo" wings aren't even tossed in buffalo sauce, and the barbecue ones are the same wings with (cold) generic barbecue sauce dumped on them after they're piled into the Styrofoam carry-out container. The atmosphere is awful, filled with teenage hampden kids in/out ordering ice cream on the sub side, not like a middle eastern restaurant through out the city. Just came back from a 2nd trip to the kabob side of things at King's having been enticed back after the first "successful" kabob run the other week on a LivingSocial deal. I have to say that the chicken kabob couldn't have been much better. The huge chicken chunks were cooked about as tender and perfect as possible. The rice was just right. Tried the spinach side dish last time, this time the chick peas which were fantastic! I'd like to order a large side dish of the chick peas alone next time I drop in. I don't know from the subs, etc side of things nor the other kabob types, but the chicken kabob is a DEF winner. We usually order a chick kabob from Georgio's in Cockeysville occassionally, but this is much better. I'll be dropping by here on my way home from work on the nights in the future when the wife feels kaboby. Can't say too much on price as I haven't paid full price yet, but the portions are large so I'm guessing the value is there. read more

Tried the slices here and they seemed to revitalize old pizza that's been sitting around by sprinkling some cheese on it and throwing it in the oven. Mine also had the distinct flavor of Mexican hot sauce which was so disgusting as to make it inedible. read more

They make a solid lamb gyro and their pizza is worth the money as well. This is the second time I've ordered from King's Kabobs and the second time I've had a great meal delivered. The food was still so hot when it got here that I had to let it sit for a couple of minutes before I could eat my soup! Both times I ordered the Tandoori Kabob, once with chicken and once with lamb and chicken. The spinach soup was so good that I ordered it both times, BUT I put some of the basmati rice and Chickpea daal (comes with the Kabob) INTO the spinach soup to give it a little texture. I would suggest anyone try the spinach soup this way. One of the best soups I've ever had...they really should add the rice and chickpeas to it!!! Anyway, prices are what you expect for a good meal delivered and they were well within the time estimate given. All in all, very satisfied!! read more

I can't speak for the pizza. I usually only go to the Mediterranean half of the restaurant (they opened this half in the later part of 2009 I think). Their falafel is super good, I won't order much else from them because it's just that delicious. Their pita is tasty too. If you're dining in it comes out from the kitchen all fluffed up, buttery and delicious. Their hummus is also good, nothing to scream about though. The tahini that comes with everything is hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn't even seem like there's any tahini in it and it's just salad dressing, which is weird, but on a day when it's good it's phenomenal. Every time I've eaten in the restaurant I've been freezing and eaten with my heavy coat on (even in the winter it seems like the A/C is on) so I stopped dining in and always call for take out. But beware that for whatever reason they have the slowest call in order turnaround time EVER. I usually call in about 45 mins before I want to eat. But it's good and the price is right so I keep going back and am always full and happy when I'm done. read more

Full disclosure. This is not Betsy. I am her fiance, Jason. I do not care to review food as I'm not a foodie, though I'm about to marry one so I get to try a lot of good food! I asked her to let me review the absolutely atrocious calzones that come out of this place. What's weird is, a few days ago I ordered a pepperoni calzone, and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked with awesome mozzarella and great pepperoni. My fiance was jealous so she decided to order us some calzones tonight. They were dreadful! The dough was soggy and undercooked. The insides were covered with this gross tomato paste tasting stuff (before there was none), there was barely any spinach or pepperoni (hers) in either, and the cheese was not the same cheese used merely a few days ago. Furthermore, the roof of the calzone kept collapsing in the goop below, and the dough was much more bland this time as well. It was pretty bad. However, I give this a 1 not because it was the worst food ever, but because when a restaurant can do better and doesn't, that's a laziness and quality control issue. I didn't have high expectations for this place the moment I walked in. The decor is cheap and tacky and the lights are too bright. The guy waiting tables has no idea how to wait tables. I ordered the mixed grill kabob which was lamb and chicken with rice and spinach. The lamb was too salty and the spinach was overcooked slop. The rice was insipid. The chicken was ok.
