If you're looking for authentic delicious Indian food in Long Island, I highly recommend you check out Kiran Palace. Everything is made fresh and we know this because we did modifications to the food and they didn't say no to a single modification. Everything came out nice and hot and the food was amazing! The restaurant feels more like a casual, old school Indian restaurant set up. It's great for big groups or even just a couple. They start us off with pappadum with 2 chutneys. The cilantro chutney was fresh and had a nice kick to it. The brown chutney was sweet but not overly sweet. For breads, they made us chili naan and wow there was so much chili in the naan - it was perfect for someone like me who loves spicy food. They also made us butter roti and onion kulcha. All the breads tasted really good - they were nice and soft and perfectly cooked. As our mains we got the dal makhani and paneer tikka masala. The paneer tikka masala felt authentic, finally the way a tikka masala should be made. It was the right amount of buttery but also had so much flavor in it. The sauce was more tomato based which also enhances the flavors. There was also so much paneer in it unlike other Indian restaurants where sometimes you struggle to find the protein. The dal makhani was also really nice. It was well cooked with the right firmness to the lentils and kidney beans. I highly recommend you stop by and get some food authentic Indian food.

Still literally the best local Indian restaurant in Long Island. From the food / service and ambience, everything is top notch. Absolutely my fav local Indian restaurant. Their spice has gone down, but when you tell them you want it extremely spicy they'll kick it up a notch. But that's a small notch now lol. Still amazing.

Amazing place! If you enjoy Indian food, I highly recommend going. I had the chicken lunch special (they offer vegetarian options as well) and it was fantastic. Service was great and friendly. Definitely going back!

Lunch special for 2! Amazing food and so much for the price!!!

We wanted a buffet but they didn't have one but did it matter; NO!!! Lunch special comes with so much food, it's a buffet at your table! Spiced to perfection!!! Very nice owner!

Tonight we had delicious Indian food at our favorite local spot. The foood is delicious and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. They always remember where we like to sit, what we like to eat....great service! We will be back!

We picked Kiran Palace for an impromptu date night and figured we'd try a new place. Kiran's Palace has been on our list for a while so it was time. We were worried that the restaurant would be crowded on a Saturday night but it wasn't a bad crowd at all. We were seated in about 5 minutes and given papar while we pursued the menu. A nearby table got a sizzling skillet of tandoori chicken, so of course we had to order a sizzling skillet of tandoor chicken. The chicken was delicious and hot. We also got samosa chaat, and I have to say it might be the best chaat I've had in a while. 5 stars on the chaat! Honey got saag paneer and I got paneer makhani. I'm not usually a saag fan, but this saag was amazing. It was warm and creamy and not overly spinach tasting. 5 stars on the saag! We had fresh naan and fresh rice, and the service was pretty solid. I'd definitely go back, but I'd stay away from the makhani. There's a lunch buffet, so that might be my next trip there.

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

Fresh puri and plenty of sauces, fresh rice and a very nice spread of Indian favorites. I really enjoyed everything they had to offer and especially the vegetarian options such as dhal and paneer. Great service and the only caveat is that any naan is purchased separately as it's not included in the ayce price. You can also just order fresh plates of any combination off their à la carte menu. We opted for the lunch buffet and were very satisfied and both price point and quality were excellent. The restaurant itself is nice with great ambiance and plenty of seating. There's also plenty of beverage options. We've been back twice already and anticipate many more visits.

From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

The space is modern and beautifully decorated, but still has that cozy, comfortable feeling that makes you want to settle in, order way too much food, and stay awhile. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and, most importantly to me, genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when the people working at a restaurant can actually talk to you about the dishes, ingredients, flavors, and what makes something special. It makes the whole experience feel much more personal. But the FOOD is absolutely the star here. Everything we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just so satisfying. My favorite dish was hands down the chili chicken momos. They had exactly the right amount of heat--spicy enough to give you that little kick, but not so much that it overpowered everything else going on in the dish. The momos themselves were delicious, and the combination of spice, savory flavor, and texture made them something I could honestly order over and over again. I also love that Banjara has some more unique cocktails rather than just the standard drinks you see everywhere. They fit the modern feel of the restaurant really well and make it a fun place to come for dinner, drinks, or both. As someone who genuinely LOVES Indian food and is always excited to explore different dishes and regional flavors, I really enjoyed my experience here. Banjara manages to feel modern without losing the soul and flavor that makes Indian food so special. Great atmosphere, genuinely kind and knowledgeable people, creative drinks, and food that makes you start thinking about what you're ordering next before you've even finished what's in front of you. If you're looking for a cozy, modern Indian restaurant with a little personality and some seriously delicious food, give Banjara a try. And please do yourself a favor and order the chili chicken momos.

We went because we got a recommendation from one of our friends, and it was a successful dinner. The appetizer dishes were VERY spicy for someone who's not good at handling spices like me. Their Rava Dosa is usually crispy and packed with flavor. The gunpowder one is yummy! The Khadai Paneer Masala is also usually super yummy, and we love the tomato creamy base that is paired with the paneer--a different alternative when we aren't craving Palak Paneer. Of course, have to wash it down with a Mango Lassi. Of note, sometimes the service is a little spotty and it can be a bit difficult to flag a waiter down/have the food come to the table within a reasonable time during some visits, but during other visits, everything will be spot on.
