Oooooh, I'm so loving this place! This place is exactly what this area needed!!! Good food, good drinks, good service, good EVERYTHING! It was so nice to have a new place to go to that was opened past 9pm that wasn't JUST a bar. I've been here a few times already, and I just really like it! The owner's momma is just the sweetest lady! Every time I've been there, she's come by to greet my table. Alright, so the BOOM BOOM SHRIMP is super duper yummy and an absolute MUST!!! You can't go to Kitchen-86 and not get it. You just can't! All the cocktails are delicious too! The tequila one that is "spicy", I think, is probably my favorite one. I've only been here after like 9/9:30pm (amazing place to go to especially if you're in the service industry and just want a delicious drink and some yummy food). The food is absolutely Devine and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and just all around nice people who care about you and making sure you have a good time here. We are weekend travelers to the desert and this place is just amazing and we love dropping by for a great meal. The beat part is it is so well priced and positioned that you leave thinking how is great quality food so well priced. Especially being on El Paseao and the location. Too bad they only have the one location as this place is sublime! Beautiful and airy interior. Exceptionally attentive and helpful staff, Felipe was outstanding. The menu changes frequently. I was planning to have the Thai salad for lunch but it was not available on the menu and opted instead for the Amalfi Watermelon Salad which was delicious. It contained watermelon, cucumber, feta and prosciutto on a bed of arugula with a balsamic glaze. Not sure, but I believe the watermelon was marinated (maybe red wine vinegar?). Truly one of the tastiest salads I've had. We also had the Boom Boom shrimp appetizer which came with a nice side salad and was not disappointed. I look forward to dining here again and will be dreaming of the Amalfi salad for days. read more

We arrived there Saturday night and asked for patio seating. Hostess told us that patio seating is closed for the night. They gave us a table inside. But no menu no service for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes a server came and give us water and left. 10 more minutes later some guy who told us he's the manager came and told us rudely that we are not supposed to sit in this table. We came here on a Saturday night & first our group of 6 were seated wayyyyy on the outskirts of the restaurant & then we requested to be moved closer onto an actual table that was nicely set up & looked like it was actually part of the restaurant. Our of all the food we ordered the best thing was the pepperoni pizza..we also had to send the penne back because it was not good at all. We had them gotten the cheese ravioli & it was also not good. The "sausage" on the pizza is also ground beef not actual sausage. Definitely Interesting taste & we did not enjoy. I also ordered the Mac & cheese, although the presentation was cool the food was not, it definitely did not taste like Mac & cheese had an extreme plain thick taste to it, overall was not something I'd ever order again. Besides the food, the staff were extremely nice & attentive, as well as took back the penne with no issue which was really nice. It was Sunday brunch and they were out of Champagne for mimosas. The server informed us someone forgot to order it... The food was fine, again, nothing out of this world flavorful or exceptional. Bad experience from start to finish when we were there a few days ago. We came for an early dinner and it wasn't that crowded. We were seated by the manager Rob who decided he didn't want to wear his mask anymore so he had it around his chin as he walked us to our table and barely said a word to us. After placing us at a half cleaned table directly under the misters, we asked him if there was any other open tables to which he rolled his eyes and told us they would be turning off soon. We ordered a couple of drinks and they took forever to come and when they finally arrived, one drink was incorrect and the other one tasted terrible. We then decided to order and saw a picture of a great looking burger online but unfortunately they weren't making it anymore. We then ordered a few more items, unfortunately none of which were good. This place is absolutely fantastic!!! I cannot believe how cute this place is. First of all I was having trouble finding it (thanks google maps....) but I called and the host was so sweet. She stayed on the phone with us until we got parked and oriented to avoid getting lost. That was so great. We get sat at an outside table. The corner table. It is was perfect. The street view was so nice with the lighting. The server was fantastic. Very informed and very polite. We also go to meet the owners mother who was so amazing. She recommended the curry - which I absolutely loved!!! The curry was fantastic - the taco appetizers were so amazing - and the chicken dish was delicious. Everything we had was dee with flavor. We had brunch here yesterday. The food and service were terrific. Everyone loved their meal. My husband had the chicken fried steak with biscuits, eggs, and potatoes. He also had a Bloody Mary and said it was one of the best he'd had. I had a yummy quinoa salad and our friend ordered Avocado Toast. We were all happy. The wait staff was attentive and quick to respond when we needed condiments and more water. We will definitely go back! I can't wait to try the dinner menu and also happy hour! read more

We found this place on Yelp, and turns out it had only been open a couple of weeks. I shared the lamb chops and ceviche. The ceviche was decent, but probably no match for Mexico. The lamb chops on the other hand, were excellent. The meat was tender and flavorful. I love lamb, and this really hit a home run! The beer list was also good. The owner's mother was making the rounds at the tables making sure people were enjoying their dining experience, which was a very sweet personal touch. Service was attentive. While on a weekend getaway, we were looking for a nice spot to have Sunday Brunch that was also Pet Friendly. We called Kitchen 86 and made a reservation for 6 ppl on 4/25/21. We were seated right away and then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes or so until a server acknowledged us. When she finally stopped by our table, she was obviously in a hurry and instead of greeting us with at least a hello, she said "You guys want a drink or something."! Whoa okay, from then on, I had a feeling things were going to go sideways. After placing a drink order, our drinks finally came out. I ordered the Maria 86 Bloody Maria with Candied Bacon and Shrimp for an additional $4. When my drink came out, there was no candied bacon or shrimp. I brought it to her attention and instead of taking my drink back and making me a new one, she comes back a few minutes later with a side plate of bacon that was not candied and a undercooked/half raw shrimp!!! I again brought it to her attention and she really didn't have anything to say to me. When I asked to speak to the manager, she comes back and introduces the owner. I explain to him that this drink presentation was unacceptable and instead of issuing a apology or trying to rectify the situation, he just takes the side plate that the raw shrimp was on and leaves. Not a single word was uttered from his mouth. At that point, our table agreed that we will not be staying for brunch and asked the server to cancel our brunch orders. We explained that we will gladly pay for the drinks we had except for the awful bloody mary. Again, we waited another 10 minutes just for her to come back to the table to tell us our drinks were on the house.....oh how nice of your boss to comp'd drinks. THIS PLACE IS TRASH... Not safe. Worst experience in years. The menu is limited, food is okayish, not memorable. Service became a lowest point. I used love this location and have had many a great meal in the space. Unfortunately there is a current lack of leadership. Lots of young people talking mostly to one another. I expect a few basics. Let me know what's different from the menu, ask about the meal after delivering the food, and don't intrude on conversation. This place didn't measure up to those basics or other professional standards I see everywhere else I dine. One of the "team servers" even remarked about the burn on my pizza, which they would order differently for themselves?! Also, why would I want a team of people at my table at a time like this?! One person is plenty enough and please... back up a bit. No reason to literally belly up while I'm ordering or eating. I did not feel remotely safe, as half the employees didn't wear masks over their noses or mouths. And what do you know, I've developed a stomach bug just four days later.... hmm. I hope it's not that kind of Covid. Who knows what's going on in the kitchen? The bartender was wearing a loose mask below his mouth as he hovered over drinks, Seriously yikes. I reached out to the staff and got the runaround. They refused to connect me with the owner. If I felt my concerns had been considered, I'd have left it there, but the conversation started with excuses and seemed less than sincere. If you have any concern about Covid or other pathogens, be safe and dine elsewhere, anywhere else in the area will show better care. Michael, server at the Bar area, was outstanding. Attentive, courteous, great advice on choices which all were great. My friend and I always order two different plates and share half & half. We opted for the $8.64 Breakfast Special with 2 poached eggs, 2 pieces of bacon & swapped out potatoes for fresh fruit. He brought 2 pieces of toast-she asked for whole grain & I had sourdough. Our second choice was the Belgian Waffle & it was delicious. We ordered coffee as well and nice, strong cup with vanilla creamer. Yum! We had just walked 8 miles so we were hungry. Loved it so much I'm meeting a local friend who's heard about it but not yet been there. See you again on Thursday! Imagine me out drinking all night living the dream mix three liquors losing consciousness waking up not knowing where I am and realizing if I don't get in serious nutrition cardiac arrest it's coming out my chest. I'm coming to Kitchen 86 for A bloody Mary medical IV, and potatoes to soak the liver poison. The biscuits and gravy are absolute fire, I don't care if you're from the south, this is better 100%. If you're here for lunch the pizza is way more bougie then CPK or pizza vino. It's an easy choice to come here for pizza if el paseo is the location. As far as a Friday night goes, the ambiance here is the business, the blue light, rectangle bar, and the VW bus DJ outside set the mood and extinguish the prudes and feel the vibe. Every time I come here I swear the girls get hotter and hotter, it's clear they have a favorite spot on el paseo and it's Kitchen 86. The staff is all phenomenal from Francesca to Emelle to Travis both Daniels I always feel very well taken care of and comfortable. Natalie the manager has the best memory and personality to make this bar feel a little bit more like home and I can't appreciate the hospitality enough, place always feels warm. The TVs are pretty epic too I have never seen UFC here but would be very interested in watching some fights here in the future if that's a possibility for you guys. I I come in I'll take more photos thanks for everything. Jokes aside the place is very well sanitized and they never complain about masks but will be the first ones to hand you one if you forgot one which I highly appreciate. Getting there: This restaurant is located on the main El Paseo street. There is street parking all around but it fills up fast. Experience: I had my birthday dinner here and wow, the food was beyond this world delish. They have nice outdoor seating with lighting and even a DJ on the weekends. We ordered the boom-boom shrimp, ceviche, and the Ribeye Verduer e Formaggio to split. For drinks, I ordered Tequila Mockingbird and margaritas. The Tequila Mockingbird was so strong it took me like an hour to finish, it was delicious nonetheless. All of the food was outstanding. Everything was bursting with flavor. The ribeye had a cheese that comes out with it and adds that much of a burst. Our waiter Mario was a sweetheart. I wasn't impressed the last time, but I figured I'd give it another try. This time was worse. I decided to dine/drink at the bar again. My biggest complaint is about the lack of customer service. The first bartender completely ignored me. He basically acted like he didn't see me sitting there, but he definitely did. I know this because 2 patrons that sat at the bar after me were greeted and served almost immediately. The manager came to me a few minutes after I was ignored. He was pleasant enough. However, after I told him about my experience being ignored; he didn't apologize for my experience and he pretty much disregarded what I told him. That set the tone of my experience there. The food is palatable, but very mediocre for the price. I travel for work to the desert once a month and I'm very familiar with most of the quality restaurants in the area. Based on comparable pricing; you're better off dining at Pacifica or Tommy Bahama. If you really want to splurge, just go to Eddie V's or Mastros. I know this is a sports bar, but it appears they're trying to be a cross between a trendy sports bar and lounge. I can't believe I was watching a baseball game with Judy Garland playing in the background.
