Nashville fried chicken, it's what's for breakfast
    Sarah S.

We stopped here for brunch before embarking on the Country Music Museum & are so glad we did. The brunch was excellent. I also got the Nashville chicken as a side / supplement because I had to try some while in Nashville & it was great. I had a waffle, a poached egg, maple syrup & made a delish creation with the Nashville chicken. Hubs was more traditional enjoying eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, & sausage. Their sausage was a delicious blend with sage and a berry in the mix. Hubs enjoyed his OJ and I thought their coffee was pretty good. They had some nice fruit and cinnamon rolls (as well as cinnamon butter). The deco is lovely and the staff was great, friendly and attentive without being overly so. We would definitely eat here again when back in Nashville.

Decided to go out for breakfast Christmas Day. My group decided on this place, which is inside the Omni hotel. Breakfast was just ok. Nothing special for the holiday. Our waiter, Timothy, was very friendly, professional & attentive even as it started to get busy. The dining area is beautiful & elegant. Parking is valet only though you'll get some discount if you're dining in.

This restaurant is inside the Omni hotel and open for breakfast and lunch. Beautiful decor, excellent friendly service and great food. I tried the Fried Chicken sandwich which was just okay, but my partner's food was outstanding

We planned to go to pancake pantry but when we saw the huge line we decided to go to kitchen notes. They had an all you can eat buffet for under $50 per person. A BISCUIT BAR!! Since I eat like a fish I skipped the Amazing looking buffet and ordered biscuits and gravy. They were delicious. However, the coffee machine was broken and I couldn't have a latte which was disappointing. Big plus we didn't have to wait not even a second to be seated. It's located inside a hotel. Very clean and welcoming.

The best breakfast of the trip! The omelet complemented by biscuit and grits were utterly delicious. The consistency and taste of the grits were top notch while the portion, flavors and balance of the omelet and biscuit hit the spot. Highly recommended for an authentic breakfast / brunch spot if in the area.

We came for the breakfast buffet but arrived too late. During the week make sure you arrive well before 10am! Ordered off the regular menu - had avocado toast with a side order of some nashville hot chicken. Hubby ordered the omelet. All the food was really good. The server was very lovely - super friendly and fast. The interior is pretty nice, lots of seating and bright. It's on the expensive side, but that's expected at a hotel restaurant. We will come again sometime to try that buffet.

We came here for the breakfast buffet but were greatly disappointed by the experience. At $35, it was NOT worth it. It felt like a low-quality continental breakfast you'd get for free at a Holiday Inn Express. With limited options available, I tried the bacon, scrambled eggs, and biscuits. The bacon was overcooked and unremarkable, the scrambled eggs were lukewarm, and the biscuits were embarrassingly dry and hard to eat. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because our waitress was very nice and attentive. There are better places in Nashville for breakfast or brunch so save your money and calories from this place.

We came for the brunch buffet & were very happy with our experience! Located inside the Omni hotel to the right of the lobby, we arrived at 11:05 on a Sunday for a 11:15am reservation & were sat immediately. Can't comment too much on parking though since we walked here. Ambiance is nice. The restaurant is very clean with a southern vibe to it. Feels semi upscale yet casual at the same time. Food was solid overall. They pride themselves on being a farm-to-fork restaurant & I feel like $35/person for all you can eat was appropriate for the quality. My favorite were the homemade bacon cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy on top. They also have Belgian waffles and sourdough pancakes made made to order that are included in the buffet. Bonus for using real maple syrup. Waitress was nice and attentive, overall a 5/5 for brunch! They also have a la carte brunch menu if that is a better value for you, but we were hungry!

Little skeptical due to it being a hotel restaurant, but it was, by far, the best breakfast we had while in Nashville, and that was including visiting some "famous" places. The Nashville hot chicken was excellent, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The sourdough pancakes were delicious. They serve real maple syrup, which made this Vermont girl's heart happy. Waitress was very nice. Everything we could have asked for.

I loved our dishes. The quinoa and kale salad was so good and the slow roasted short rib sandwich was delicious. Also the chef sent us some pretty spectacular deviled eggs. We'll be back!

We had a tour we wanted to take and made reservations at Kitchen Notes for breakfast since it was near the meeting point. When you first walk into the Omni Hotel it's overwhelming. Such a massive front lobby and opulence to spare. The signage is decent but honestly we had to look around a little to see Kitchen Notes. The sign in the entrance isn't visible from the lobby area. Once we found Kitchen Notes, we were greeted at the door by an extremely friendly team of people that work in different capacities in the restaurant. We were seated immediately but on the way to the table we were able to drink in the atmosphere some. The tables are beautiful, the seats are amazingly comfortable, and the whole place is extremely clean and super cute. We sat down and out waiter Keith was over almost immediately. Affable and easy going, we were able to order our coffee and waters. We wanted bloody Mary's, but booze isn't served until 10am so we settled on the coffee and water. The coffee was good, not a cheap roast and not burnt tasting like you get in some places. We ordered the Music City Omelette (no pics sorry), Avocado Toast, and I asked for a side of Nashville Hot Chicken. It wasn't on the menu but Keith did me a solid and got it anyways. The food took a little bit to come out, there was a slight snag that we overcame with the help of Katie the wonderful manager of the restaurant and all was well. The Nashville Hot Chicken was good, well seasoned breading (lots of pepper like I like it) and it came out on a pan friend piece of toast which I loved. It was missing the sauce that I love about NHC, but there was a Kitchen Notes hot sauce on the table that sufficed in its stead. The avocado toast was really good, but it's avocado toast so it's hard to mess that up. It came with some greens, two sunny side up eggs, and tomatoes. I enjoyed it more with a little hot sauce because I like spicy food, but it was great on its own. The omelette was tasty with caramelized onions, ham, and other additions. The potatoes that came with it were fried perfectly brown and complimented the flavors of the omelette. The good news is, we took long enough we were able to get the bloodies we wanted and they didn't disappoint at all. With a nice spice to them and a healthy pour, I highly recommend one after 10am. (Weirdo laws trying to make me less of a sinner). All in, the stop at Kitchen Notes was fully worth it. The service was amazing after the snag was cleared up and the food was completely worth it. The food ran between $15 and $20 a plate, so it wasn't horribly priced for a Nashville stop. If you're in the area stop on by.

Kitchen Notes is a cute breakfast/lunch place located off the lobby of the Omni Hotel, where we were staying. You do have a choice of ordering off the menu or selecting the buffet for $30. I took a stroll along the buffet to see what there was and my goodness, everything looked so fresh and appetizing. The $30 price seemed a little high, but we all decided to order it. We were all so glad we did! There were three different variations of biscuits (strawberry and cream, buttermilk and cheddar herb) and I tried them all. And they were all delicious. Strawberry and cream was my favorite. The eggs, the sausage, the fruit, everything was all so fresh and delicious. I would definitely eat here next time I'm in town, whether I'm staying at the Omni or not.

I walked in here and thought immediately, oh great, hotel breakfast. The hot chicken here is going to suck. The restaurant is nested inside of the Omni, a beautiful hotel in downtown Nashville, walking distance from all the sights. And the actual breakfast menu was not super compelling. Your typical staples, like eggs and oatmeal, but the menu for the sides looked extraordinary. As a result, I ordered a side of the hot chicken, and a side of the biscuits. The biscuits came warm and assorted, and there were six. The hot chicken was better than Hattie B's, which I've had in the past. I found this place quite amazing. Great ambience, clean dining room, exceptional food. I cannot wait for the next time I am back here. The waitress, Enkelda was friendly and professional.

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is. chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

This place was a wonderful little experience. We were greeted with the sign outside, "Enter as Strangers and Leave as Friends," which is one of my life philosophies. We got there right at opening, so we got seated first along with one of their years-long regulars. A friendly local lady who provided us with pleasant conversation until the next patrons arrived, who were seated right next to us at the same table, family style. Then the next people, then the next. Sitting, talking, passing the food around the table. It was a nice experience. And the ambiance was nice, too. Plain, wooden chairs, white tile flooring, vintage holiday decor, it was like being in a grandma's house. Very comforting. The food came out one or two dishes at a time. Everything was good enough, but it also was apparent that it was mass produced in a catering style. The basics like the bacon and ham were very good, but the fried chicken, I wouldn't take a big piece, save your stomach room for other things. Whatever other things you grab, make sure you grab a biscuit and get ahold of their homemade peach preserves. That stuff was 10/10 excellent. It's so good, they jar it and sell it at the front desk. I totally recommend. Overall, breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day, so if you find yourself in Nashville, I would implore you to come and check out this city staple of over 30 years now.

The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended. While it is one of your more expensive area stops for dinner, you will appreciate the food quality and presentation at Gannons Nashville for your next special occasion. I ordered 3 piece whole wings, with 2 sides. Baked beans and southern greens. I ordered the peach cobbler à la mode and was happy the cashier recommended I pay first and they would bring it out when I was ready to eat it. - she did just that, without my prompting. I ordered the spice level HOT and it was good and spicy. If you don't like spice, get the medium spice level. The sweet tea and the in house made lemonade tasted awesome. I refilled 3 times... but also because they had the best ice My friend had the tenders and said they were very good as well along with the banana pudding! The resturant was clean and accommodates large groups as well. I did not like the baked beans but my friend did so they did not go to waste.

That…read morediscomfort can come in a variety of shapes and if it occurs in Nashville, it's likely to be in the form of ordering hot chicken at an overwhelmingly crazy spice level without fully comprehending what just happened. And what better place to experience such a moment than Hattie B's, a local family fun institution. Started in 2012 by a father and son duo, this is the original location of the establishment despite many other outposts now present through the southern US. Now, back to the spice level. Beyond the standard selections, there are extreme variants like Damn Hot! and Shut the Cluck Up! That's where things get really interesting, because survival instincts always get tested when things are not standard. Those levels are not for the faint of heart. The hot chicken here is legitimately phenomenal regardless of level chosen and the tenders are the most famous cut. The pimento Mac and cheese and the bacon grits are not to be missed as sides. Maybe, just maybe, what separates Hattie B's is the mom and pop feeling of the establishment despite becoming ridiculously popular with tourists. The people taking orders are so nice and enjoy a conversation despite the massive line. All around, Hattie B's hits the spot.
