We booked a table for mother's day :) parking can be rough since they have a small lot but we luckily got parking. Staff are nice when you ask them for anything - very accommodating. The food was good. My favorite was the sweet and sour pork, mapo tofu, and stir fried vegetables. The duck/goose was good but in my opinion too salty. Still, great place to eat for any occasion or reason!

I remember 20+ years ago, this was the location of a KFC. They do have a back parking lot on Buena Vista which is convenient vs trying to find parking on Webster St. They have ample classics and Chef's specials which is good for a comfort meal fixing. Their Hot and Sour Soup is good, and a great starter to warm up the taste buds. We opted for a couple of classical family style dishes. The Salty Fish steam pork and the Bitter Melon Eggs both great with white rice. Another one of my favorites (and not many place has it) is their XO style Duck Chin (it's the Duck's bottom beak). this is more of a appetite and a delicacy for those with this type of appetite. The Lobster E-Fu Noodles was on sale for $38,99 and this was done just right. Overall this was a good dining experience worth repeating.

Our workplace celebrated the August Moon which is for family gatherings. This is what we ordered and everything was delicious and it served more than one meal for us. Portions are generous, it ended up serving 16 meals! You have to pre order the sticky rice chicken, put together like a cake and frosting! Lots of care goes into this one dish.

I've lost count of how many times I've checked in here well over 30 at this point. And every time? Nothing but fire pics and plates that hit every time. This spot stays busy for a reason. It's just a few feet from East Ocean, smack in the middle of Bay Area food heaven, where Alameda and Oakland keep the good eats coming. Been coming here since my kids were little, and the waiter still remembers us so you know we've put in the hours. The food? Always solid. Prices? Still reasonable. Service? Locked in. Check them out if you're ever in the area. Just my opinion this place smacks lol

This place has really good quality dim sum. We tried some of our standard favorites but the barbecue pork noodle roll was quite impressive. The service was very friendly the and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the establishment is pretty spacious with an outdoor area as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be coming back to try more on the menu.

In the mood for Chinese comfort food so trekked down to Kitchen of Alameda. They have a parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in it feels like a Chinatown restaurant - lot of loud Canto.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't hate - I'm Chinese. IFKYK. They have the usual Chinese menu, just what we wanted. Cha Siu Wonton Mein - great flavors and lots of cha siu, just not so much won ton - I think 5. Guess that's because there's also the mein. Still 4*. Beef Chow Fun - OK but lot of bean sprouts. 4*. Sweet and Sour Pork - Good flavor, portion OK. Cha Siu bow - Free! Mention "Uncle Timmy" or was it "Teddy". Keep saying Uncle so-and-so until they give it to you ;-) Prices a little on the high side, Service was just like a Chinatown restaurant. If you want some good ol' Chinese comfort food, this is the place.

    Meme E.

Not my favorite for sure. The dim sum restaurants next to this place, Chef's wok & East Ocean are much better. I don't recommend

Sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper tofu, beef with Chinese broccoli

Kitchen of Alameda is at the top of my list as the "go to" Chinese restaurant in Oakland or Alameda. The owner is usually there and the people are personable. They serve dim sum that is prepared fresh and steaming hot! One of the few restaurants that serve large pieces of dim sum with very good ingredients. The taste is absolutely amazing. You can also order regular dishes for lunch and dinner and they do have "lunch specials." Try their sweet and sour pork or chicken or fish....they also use fresh pineapple. Their Fish fillet with black bean is to die for......sooooo tasty and tender! Their menu is extensive.....so enjoy! Bon Appetite!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Most delicious assortment of dim sum & then sum ... great culinary experience with tasty flavors, generous portions, excellent service & spacious back patio area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most authentic & reasonable prices. Will be back!

Noodle and Cabbage, but as you can see, they gave you mostly cabbage and very little noodles. Very disappointing!

They're very nice people and very generous, especially when I came by on a slow Wednesday for a solo dinner and I was pretty hungry so I ordered a few new dishes I haven't tried before. I ordered the spicy tingly beef noodle soup, the lamb in sauce dumplings, and the ruo jia mo stewed pork slider and I was also offered a bit of their liang pi cold noodle on the house which I commend on them for going beyond their service and hospitality. The noodle soup was presented so well and the dumplings sauce was so good that I poured some into my broth for extra flavor. The slider was so moist and fresh, juice was literally dripping off each bite and the cucumbers in it gave it a good crunchy texture. In the end I would come back anytime and order the same and perhaps try their malatang!

Steamed beef balls were hand craft to a good texture , fluffy and chewy. Another 5/5 . I loved the black bean sauce chicken feet , pork Siu Mai with big chunks of shrimp inside to enrich the taste , fried chives dumpling was tasty . All the dim sum were delicious and served hot . This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had on the island…read more I was shuffled between at least five different employees just to get seated, place an order, get a drink, and finally receive my food. I was dining alone and ordered only shrimp dumplings and a glass of Chardonnay, yet the wait was excessive. The wine arrived in what looked like a tasting-sized pour, and at $16 a glass, it felt particularly disappointing--especially since it was the only white wine option available. The restaurant itself felt neglected. The tables were wobbly, the décor was dated, there was a noticeable cigarette smell, and I even had to replace my own chopsticks after noticing lipstick on the pair initially provided. After waiting so long for my food, I stood up to ask for my check and cancel the order. At that point, the dumplings suddenly appeared, along with an offer of a fried bun as compensation. I declined and suggested they at least comp the wine given the experience, but they did not. The final bill was nearly $30 for a mediocre glass of wine and shrimp dumplings that were undercooked and unappetizing enough that I threw them away after a few bites. If you're looking for a quick meal before a movie, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. This was a disappointing waste of both time and money.

Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!
