The food looks really good, but in all actuality, it was disgusting AND super expensive. We told the waitress about our poor experience and she literally could not have cared less. Didn't bother to tell the manager, just brought us a check. Definitely won't be back - not even the food was free. Also, the floors were filthy. I visited Kitchen Savages on a rainy Saturday afternoon for lunch. So it was not very crowded but it's inviting. The brunch menu was still being featured, so the choices were limited. I ordered the Chicken Wings and they were pretty good. I wished for a little more bite to the tangy sauce. I also ordered the Jerk Caesar Salad with grilled salmon. The actual salad and salmon were good, but the Jerk was very lacking. The salad was good but it had no character of a Caesar Salad, nor Jerk flavor IMO. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my salad and the Chicken wings. The vibe of this little spot is nice,chill, and friendly. I will come back for dinner. The dinner menu looks interesting. Love everything about this place. The vibe is immaculate! They play amazing R&B music, both contemporary and the classics, which sets a great tone. Everything from Chaka Khan to Coco Jones to Beyonce. Like, wow. Five stars from the playlist alone. The decor is also very beautiful, I love all the blue and gold and the beautiful memorial mural that they have on the wall. The food is amazing! My friend and I both enjoyed our meals. I had the VEGAN JER PASTA with salmon. The fact that they have the option for vegan food is so amazing and I greatly appreciate it. The only downside is that they do charge more but I guess it is worth it. The service is also phenomenal. The staff is so kind and welcoming and creates a very homey environment. Went there for brunch with a group of ladies. The reservation was made weeks in advance for 11:30. There was about 15 ladies. The inside was cute, I was just surprised at how small it was inside. There were two tables, at the second table we had to get our own menus because the waitress never brought us any. Since it was brunch we asked did they have mimosas because it wasn't listed on the menu. So we got a carafe of pineapple which was good. When we noticed the chef was the bartender, we knew it might be in for a rocky experience. One lady asked if she could substitute the eggs that came with the lamb chops for another side & was told no. So she had to get the appetizer lamb chops & a side of grits. The few ladies who ordered appetizers received them in a decent time. For the rest of us, it was over an hour to get our food!! I ordered the chicken and French toast. It was hot, but the chicken didn't have much flavor. I asked for a side of the honey garlic which was really good & helped the chicken. Some ladies said their food could be hotter. One lady didn't get her entree until 1:30!! Her stuffed salmon did have steam coming off of it when she finally got it. We were sad that the experience was so poor. It would have been better for the restaurant to say they don't accept parties over 6 in close time frames to ensure better quality instead of accepting large parties. read more

The lamb was cooked well but did not have any jerk flavors, 3/10. Also ordered the Catfish/Mac. Both looked extraordinary but also lacked flavor. 2/10. The crab egg rolls were supreme. They weren't overly fried and the sauce was good with just enough kick 10/10. Also ordered a side of the honey garlic sauce and this needs to go on everything! 10/10! Love visiting black owned restaurants, however, I had higher expectations for this place. We first walked in and they requested the whole party be present to be seated, even though it was only 3 tables seated and had reservations. The restaurant isn't too big but it was not crowded at all. I love the decor and art represented in the restaurant which is one of the best parts of my experience. Tried to speak with GM but he seemed busy and didn't want to discuss. The other guests eventually got here and we got seated. Once we sat down, we had to wait another 10 mins to receive water and start to be served, we ended up ordering when the server came. Now, I will say, the menu had many great options, which had me excited. I ordered the salmon and grits, serving was a great size compared to other places I been however, salmon was a tad overcooked and grits consistency was too thick. I didn't end up finishing the dish, also I had turkey bacon as well which was pretty good! My husband got the catfish & grits. He was thoroughly impressed. He also got the mac & cheese. Both dishes potions was really good. I went with the ultimate crab & shrimp egg rolls and my favorite sweet potato fries. The egg rolls where seasoned to perfection as well as the fries. I'm not heavy eater and tend to get filled relatively fast so this was so filling for me. Food was absolutely delicious so much so I decided to place another carry-out order of the egg rolls. This is where I was turned off because as you will see the egg rolls were NOT up to par (thin & not as much filling)! Was going to order two desserts to celebrate Father's Day but decided not to after that stunt. Kind of turned me off. I had even planned on coming back for a dinner date and order some more carry out. It really is a disservice when a customer walks away feeling skim from a dish. Disappointed !!! I tried this place out yesterday and it was an amazing experience from the ambiance , to the service and even the chef coming out to Check out on us! My mom is the pickiest eater I know and she was eating off of my plate and my brothers as well, she gave the place 7stars. The food is really good you can taste when it cooked with love and passion instead of just rushing to get it to us. My dad also had a birthday and they gave him a complimentary desert. He hasn't stop smoking since we left! The owner/chef is a really kind hearted man. Who cares about the community . He has already done so much for the community.
