Food is always great here! Make sure you make a resy because wait times are long. Their service is ok and the dining area upstairs is extremely hot. Lychee iced tea was very good. I always order the omurice.

This is my classic go-to brunch spot on the weekends. It's a casual restaurant with indoor, outdoor, and upstairs seating. There is usually a wait but you can put your name down on the waitlist via Yelp to shorten the wait. I've tried the hot matcha and ube latte with oat milk here and enjoyed both. For food, I enjoyed the yuzu salmon Benedict and Korean fried chicken with waffles. It's a Korean fusion spot with huge portions and decent pricing. Would recommend giving them a try if you're in the area craving a neighborhood brunch-y type food spot with quick service.

Amazing food. Called to reserve a table for 10 on a Saturday morning one week in advance. They were able to accommodate us. Please be aware that there may be people reserved after if you are also reserving a table. We had to leave 1.5 hrs after and they did rush us to get our orders. The food was amazing though. I didn't think any one of us had complaints. We all loved the mango margarita. I particularly enjoyed the tornado omurice, they were also able to sub tofu for beef for my friend with food restrictions.

SOOOOOOO BUMMED OUT THEY CLOSED DOWN. this place had the best bacon I've ever tried before, their Thai tea and Ube Matcha was delicious as well. The service here was really nice and very accommodating, I also found it really cute how they had a bookshelf inside too. The stuffed French toast was amazing. Wish I could get it again, I would just have to take the trip to Oakland instead.

Delicious food and amazing lemon ricotta pancakes. Rich millionaires bacon is a must. The jjapaguri was comfort food and irresistible. Do make reservations. It is worth the brunch wait if you don't.

Came to kitchen story as I've heard so much good stuff about Kitchen. Let's start with how delicious the lemon ricotta pancake was. I ended up having the sailor scramble which is salmon eggs, shrimp with potatoes. Tried the delicious Korean fried chicken and waffles as well. Service was quick and friendly. The waitress answered all of our questions. The ambiance is nice for morning breakfast. Tables fill up fast so I would make a reservation.

Arrived around 9:10 on Sunday morning and we got the last table! I ordered the Franciscan Scramble and a latte. The Scramble was delicious with its fresh ingredients nicely cooked. My only complaint is that in my scramble there were only two tiny pieces of a mango sausage -- not even 1/2 of a sausage total! What I received was almost entirely vegetarian. For the money, I expected more of the sausage component.

Started with the spicy mango mimosa, and was impressed with the balanced flavor. The yukon potatoes and millionaire bacon is also worth returning for and we shared the mascarpone french toast! The service was attentive but not overbearing.

I definitely recommend making a reservation for brunch on the weekends as it can get quite crowded! The booths are nice, and the portion sizes are pretty good. They have a pretty large menu with some yummy drinks as well!

This is the best breakfast place in the Bay! We started off with the Lychee Tea 10/10 and the raspberry lemonade 8/10. We got the millionaires way, biscuit 10/10 fluffiest and softest biscuit I've ever had. It melted in my mouth. Bacon has a savory, sweet sauce that was addicting. My husband got the Gogi bowl 9.5/10, it was very flavorful and not overly salted or seasoned. I got the Korean FC and Waffles 8.5/10 the chicken was slightly overcooked, but the flavor was good. The waffles were a 10/10, sweet and fluffy. The adobo syrup was a 2/10, not for me.

We visited Kitchen Story for a spontaneous Mother's Day brunch. I will say this is a popular brunch spot, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. We arrived shortly after 10am and our wait was just under 30 minutes. The restaurant is cozy (on the smaller side) but has an interesting layout. There's seating both indoors, outside, and upstairs. You may have to squeeze by a few tables to make your way to the restroom. Customer service was friendly and attentive. Pricing for food & drinks was a bit high. Our total for 2 entrees and 2 drinks was $60 before tip. We ordered two drinks (orange juice and an iced mocha) which were provided promptly. The orange juice was a little too sour and my mom had to add some sugar to improve the taste. The iced mocha was good, not too sweet. One thing to note the wait for our food took much longer than expected, and it may have been due to how busy it was. My mom opted to order the salmon yuzu benedict and I got an egg plate (scrambled eggs) with a side green salad. My mom mentioned the potatoes lacking salt but she enjoyed the salmon benedict. I thought the scrambled eggs were good, but slightly bland & needed salt and pepper. The side green salad was alright, but the vinaigrette had a bitter aftertaste. Overall, the meal was pretty good and timing wasn't the best. I'd likely return for brunch on a non-peak day. Definitely recommend joining the yelp waitlist prior to arriving if you can!

Living down the block for years this is the first time I've been to kitchen story. The weekends when I would drive by seems like there's always a lot of people here so I made a reservation reservations online and you have the option to choose if you want to sit outside inside or upstairs. I reserved for three to sit in the main dining room. The next day we arrived right on time for our reservation and still had to wait about 10-15 minutes and was asked if we could sit outside and then we were seated upstairs. I was a little bummed we didn't get to sit in the lower dining room like I booked on our reservations. It was still cute upstairs and good company always makes brunch even better. The servers were quick and helpful. I wanted something light so I just ordered the chicken and waffle bites. My husband got French toast and a side of chicken and my friend got a main entrée of a sandwich with some fries and a little soup. All of the food that came out looked amazing even at other people's tables. For brunch, the price is a little pricey, but I would like to come back to try other entrées when I'm more hungry. We asked one of our servers if he had a light as I brought a little candle to celebrate my friend's birthday, and as he lit it, he also decided to join in with us as we sang happy birthday, which I thought was really sweet. He did not have to do. He even got other tables around us to sing happy birthday as well. It felt like a special moment for my friend, which was a nice surprise. I did really appreciate this part and look forward to coming back.

Pros -you can make reservations (highly recommended as there was a line each time I visited) -fast and great service -delicious food in a walkable neighborhood Cons -can be difficult to find parking, so leave extra time to get there Drinks 8/10 Hot Matcha latte - it's unsweetened (which I prefer), has a deep matcha flavor and overall well rounded 6/10 Hot Chai - not very much flavor, a little to milky for my liking and didn't get any of the expected "spice" flavor usually found in chai tea Food 9/10 Salmon Yuzu Benedict - the salmon was refreshing and delicious, eggs cooked perfectly, and the potato's were well seasoned and cooked 9/10 Crab Benedict - shockingly lots of crab loaded with spinach, the eggs were perfect 7/10 Korean friend chicken and waffles - the chicken was amazing and cooked perfectly. The waffle is VERY sweet. I'm not usually a fan of waffles with the much sugar, but it does have a lot of flavor and is balanced by the savory chicken and syrup that it comes with

We got an order of tater tots for the table, which were wonderful with Japanese flavors. I had the two taco plate with steak and eggs. My only problem with the dish was that the tortillas couldn't handle the weight and moisture of the filling and fell apart. The flavors were very nice and I enjoyed the dish very much. My family also enjoyed their meals, most notably my nephew's miso brown butter noodles. Service was very prompt and efficient. The vibe of the place was easygoing and colorful but not fussy or frilly. And the food is reasonably priced as well. Service was a little rough since there was only one person working, so we had to flag them down whenever we needed anything. That said, I completely sympathize with how tough it is to run a restaurant in the current environment, and I appreciated the effort. We started with the kimchi arancini balls, which were excellent. They were fried nicely, the filling was ooey gooey and cheesy, and the kimchi aioli added a great cooling balance to the dish. For my main, I went with the 2 taco platter, which comes with a small salad and chips, and it was more than enough food. I tried one steak, egg, and cheese taco and one surf taco, and both had great flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly, the fried egg added a really nice richness and creaminess, and I loved the fries inside, which reminded me a lot of the Cali style you usually associate with San Diego. The only real miss for me was the panko batter on the fish taco, since I prefer a lighter, more delicate tempura style batter. The flavor was still solid, just not something I'd order again. My bigger hesitation overall is the price, since the tacos are pretty steep at nearly $8 each and over $20 for the 2 taco platter, which makes it hard to imagine coming back frequently even though I did enjoy the overall flavors.

We went with the bottomless mimosa option. They offer 4 different flavors: OJ, raspberry, peach, and Tiffany (for it's color). We enjoyed the peach one the most. Our server made sure we had refills on both water and mimosas at all times. We started off strong with the Pajun Pancake. A good ratio of shrimp, bacon, and veggies. The sauce it was paired with was the wow factor and we even asked for more. The bulgogi on both the bulgogi bowl and bulgogi scramble was tender and had a tasty marinade. I would had wished the bulgogi scramble didn't have as much red onion. I was surprised with the sweet potato tots option and that didn't disappoint. The spicy pork sandwich was elevated and balanced out with the kimchi slaw and cucumber combo. We finished with the Crunch French toast and it was perfection! Fluffy inside but a crunchy outside. I would come back to try their other options for brunch and dinner.

KFC Benedict: poached egg yolk settled and overcooked, chicken thighs chewy and tasteless, hollandaise sauce - flavorless 4/10 overall 2. Eggs Florentine: generous portion of spinach, tomatoes added (does not work at all for me even though I love tomatoes), egg yolk overcooked. Side potatoes? No crisp whatsoever 6/10 overall The orange juice was cold, fresh and slightly tangy 10/10 I will be back to try the French toast, other than that for a $30 per person brunch, this was very disappointing

Indoor seating is pretty limited, but the space overall has a relaxed, easygoing vibe. Service was fast, efficient, and never an issue. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite keep up with the setting. Nothing terrible, just slightly disappointing across the board and lacking the kind of flavor that makes you want to come back Parking? Street parking. Manageable depending on timing I had: Pumpkin Curry (3.5/5): This looked far better than it tasted. Presentation was solid, vibrant colors, nicely plated, the kind of dish that makes you optimistic when it hits the table. But the flavor never really followed through. The sauce felt flat and thinner than it should've been, lacking the depth and richness that makes a pumpkin curry memorable. There also wasn't enough actual pumpkin, which feels like a weird miss for a pumpkin curry. I did appreciate that it came with rice on the side, which helped round the dish out a bit. Not terrible overall, just a curry that felt more polished visually than it did flavor-wise

The inside of the restaurant is a bit small and smelled a bit like cleaning supplies. One table had the restaurant's business papers and laptop on it. There are outside seats near the entrance. Restroom was clean. I dined in with my husband and we had the Thai tea, Thai coffee, khao soi with chicken, and massaman curry with brown rice. We were mistakenly given white rice initially but I reminded the waitress we ordered brown rice and she corrected it. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation. I liked how the khao soi with chicken had two big drumsticks. The chicken was fall off the bone tender. The massaman curry with tofu had cucumber and carrots. I don't think it had any whole peanuts like I've had in other curries. Both coconut milk-based dishes were outstanding with balanced and rich with flavor. Drinks were also nice and sweet with the perfect amount of sugar and cream. Based on the items we tried, the cooking is really good here and I would order the same items or try more if I come back. Service and timing of food were decent given many takeout orders appearing to be prepared.

I'll definitely be ordering from KoJa Kitchen again when I'm craving a delicious, convenient meal. This version is suitable for posting on Caviar, Google, or Yelp. Check out the Soy Garlic Wings.

It's packed with grilled chicken, rice, fresh vegetables, and you can even add an egg for some extra protein. It checks all the boxes for a meal that's filling, nutritious, and still full of flavor. The service has consistently been friendly and efficient, even during busier times. My food has always come out quickly, and the staff has been welcoming whenever I've stopped by. The restaurant itself has a clean, modern, and casual atmosphere that makes it a great spot whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down to enjoy your meal. Overall, it's one of my favorite places when I want something healthy without sacrificing taste. 10/10 as always.

I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

No one came and instead quickly several more tables cleared out. Rather than see a few minutes of the England-Serbia World Cup match, I saw a bunch of people up close paying lunch bills. Don't come in solo expecting a side table.
