Perfect day for a delicious brunch. Sunday at 11AM we were surprised to get a table in the covered outdoor seating area with only a 5 min wait. Soon after we sat down the line grew. I indulged in a matcha latte and the hubs had an espresso and coffee to start. The deep-fried French toast was amazing, creamy center with mascarpone cheese and a little crunch on the outside. It was decadent, not the traditional cinnamon and nutmeg flavors. Who knew we would order an appetizer for breakfast -the Millionaires Way is their famous millionaires bacon paired with biscuits. This bacon is reminiscent of pindang (Filipino marinated sweet pork typically served at breakfast) with chili flakes. The biscuits fluffy. Finally the Country Benedict which is the KFC (Korean fried chicken) over sourdough topped with poached eggs & hollandaise. Chicken was crispy but I'd prefer an English muffin as the base and request a fruit side instead of the potatoes. Service was quick and friendly. Would go back again to try their KFC waffles. read more

I had the Chicken bibimbap and my friend had the cod. We both felt it was just ok, nothing special. A bit spendy for what you get. The rolls starter was really nice. The reason I'm not giving this spot 5 stars is because although it was good, it wasn't anything special to the food! We called ahead this past Sunday. Was told there's a bit of a wait and best to get there before 2:15 pm. Otherwise, there's a possibility we wouldn't be seated at all due to the long wait. We get there in 5 minutes, at 2 pm. We stand at the doorway for 5 minutes, ignored. Another employee then refused to put us on wait list. Stating kitchen can't accommodate! 1) first employee was kind. Please suggest yelp wait list in the future. 2) second employee, take a lesson in customer service. She didn't care that we just called. She didn't care that your listed hours are until 3 pm on Sundays. 3) change your hours to close at 2 pm on Sundays. I understand you need to be considerate of your employees. Please also be considerate of your customers. Absurd to turn hungry customers away an hour before closing. WE JUST CALLED. You told us to come on in! read more

I was there recently and will not be motivated to return. I was there for lunch and they were fairly busy so perhaps it can be chalked up to that but the food was extremely mediocre. The galbi really need a sharp steak knife as the knife provided was insufficient to get through the leather and the taste was meh. First time going here for brunch, and the service was BAD! Literally the table next to us came in after us and got attended first. They also barely checked on us and we had to flag them down to even order. This place is quite delicious not like your regular breakfast sport. It has some Asian twist that I really enjoyed. So I did get the French toast. I had a taste for that on the morning I went and was not disappointed. Sometime u get can order something u have a taste for and it can be ruined. Like the time I had the 1 Crab leg from the Busy wife. I will never forget that one crab leg. Anyway I'm getting side tracked. The staff were very nice I was seated immediately and they took all the safety precautions. The French toast was very tasty and my hubby had the hash with eggs. He liked his food as well. I was excited to try Kitchen Story after hearing from a friend that it was one of their favorite brunch locations. I went with my partner on a Saturday a little before noon, both very hungry. Surprisingly we were seated quickly inside (maybe we had put ourselves on the wait list while driving over?) and ordered an open face and fried chicken eggs benedict, but they were very slow to arrive. Understandable since it was very busy on a Saturday morning, but I think it took nearly an hour for my food to finally come out- and my partner's still wasn't ready. The wait staff hadn't said anything to us about any delay and mumbled something about how the other meal will be right out. By that time we were sufficiently starving that we both dove into the open face special. A few minutes later and the country benedict arrived. If it wasn't that my partner said the country benedict was her favorite brunch in years, I would probably have never returned. My food was fine but not good enough to be worth the wait and below-average service. On our return visit (about the same time in the morning on a Saturday a few weeks later) we were served promptly with no problems. The food was quite good, still not 5 star quality for me, but very good. Overall, I'm averaging my 3/5 star review with my partner's 5/5 to give a 4/5. I think Kitchen Story maybe just had a rough day the first time we visited and deserves the benefit of the doubt. Their food is quite good and definitely a crowd-pleaser. The service here is the worst part. You are not greeted upon arrival, in fact they practically ignore you. For starters, my daughter tried to order a tea latte which is on the menu but we were told they don't do that there. So she just got the tea with a side of milk, but we later learned they were out of the tea she wanted so she opted out of a drink. Later on the check we were still charged for the tea. Secondly, my daughter ordered a morning sandwich that specifically states on the menu that it comes with salad AND a tomato bisque dipping soup. The lady that brought us our food did not bring the soup so we asked about it and in a very rude tone she stated that the sandwich comes with soup salad or fries and that I picked salad. I then informed her we were not asked to pick an option and then with much attitude she said she would get me the soup and made it clear that she was doing us a favor and was doing it to avoid causing a scene. Since I didn't have the menu in front of me anymore I thought maybe I read it wrong but I double checked after I left and she was in the wrong but still made it clear that it was my fault. There's not even an option for a side of fries on the menu and so it was not the original waitresses fault for not asking me what side I wanted. And the table next to us ordered a sandwich as well and got both salad and soup without any questions asked. It's really not hard to be polite and friendly to your customers and if you make a mistake just apologize and fix it. The unnecessary attitude and blame when you are in the wrong truly baffles me. Moving on to the food, it was mediocre and bland. Nothing spectacular, I think the food options have the potential to be really good but it's definitely lacking something. I wouldn't come here again. Part of what you pay for going out to eat is good customer service and this place definitely does not have that. read more

I wouldn't recommend this for large parties but small date night would work. I think my server forgot my avocado toast since it came later into our meal. Would not recommend. Made a reservation here for our post Turkey Trot brunch on Thanksgiving. We ate there last year and enjoyed it and since there aren't many places open on Thanksgiving this time I made a reservation weeks in advance. The day before I received a message asking me to confirm our reservation. However, on Thanksgiving we showed up only to find the restaurant closed and had to scramble to find another place to eat. I have no issues with businesses being closed on holidays but you shouldn't be taking reservations for those days if you are closed!! read more

I had the blackstone benedict and the green tea latte which both were highly recommended by yelpers. The green tea latte turned out to be only lukewarm and tasted bitter. The blackstone benedict was okay, nothing special about it. One of my friends had the Korean FC & waffles and she said there were more fried cauliflower than chicken in her dish and both the waffles and chicken were dry. I used to LOVE their chicken wings. But the last 4 orders they've been horrible: Over-cooked, not enough sauce, and they were so greasy eating three gave me a stomach ache. honestly, a really good place to get breakfast or brunch at. it's a korean/asian fusion type of restaurant and it's great. i would say it is more on the pricier side compared to other brunch/breakfast places. but for the taste and presentation it makes up for it. the potatoes are to die for. i highly recommend trying the millionaires bacon! read more

This was a perfect brunch. I'm not sure why kitchen story has a 4/5 on Yelp, but it definitely should be 5/5. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, buttermilk pancakes, port wine sausage, and eggs over easy. Very basic but a good gauge. Orange juice was super fresh. Port sausage had the perfect level of savoriness to go with the eggs. The pancakes were exceptional. Texture was fluffy, chewy, with a bit of crisp -- I wonder if they put sticky rice flour in the batter :) Service was great. The wait can be long--don't wander too far off, though, because one second you're 5th on the list, and the next second they're calling your name. Service is a little confused about what waiting list is which (we got on via Yelp, but one of the workers still seemed to think we needed to get on their list again), but overall very efficient. Order the Jjagpaguri ($18), a kind of savory breakfast noodle dish with a little meat and lots of vegetables, some pickled. Good umami flavor. Millionaire's bacon was crazy good. Tornado Galbi Omurice ($19) is like a "rice omelet" -- needed a little more flavor. Mascarpone French Toast ($14) was rich and filling, as expected. We were trying to order some stuffed pancakes, but those ran out. They did look better than the french toast. The food is great! We order the galbi bowl and didn't realize it was beef and they were accommodating to make one with pork. We also had the KFC, max & cheese, KFC & waffle bits and burgah.
