I had an Irish coffee, my guest had a dirty ube latte, and mimosas. I had the seafood scramble which honestly I didn't really like. The bacon in it just clashed with the seafood. I really want to like this place, I think their menu is imaginative and has a lot of drool worthy potential, but left slightly underwhelmed for a second time. The first time I came I got take out and it wasn't particularly memorable, figured it was an issue with just the food travel time. But this time I came in for brunch, and just a mixed bag overall. First off, we had a reservation, and it's not that our table was ready when we arrived, it's more like a lighting pass where you're just bumped to the top of the queue when you arrive. So we waited about 15 min past our reservation time, no big deal, got seated, friendly staff. Ordered fairly quick, but then had to wait 45 min for our food, which is not ideal if you're trying to make a nap time. I ended up getting a lychee lemonade, country benedict, and some millionaire bacon. Lychee lemonade was phenomenal, must get every time. Country benedict was fine. My only critique was with the korean fried chicken, wasn't really sauced nor crunchy like true KFC, relatively mild flavor and a very crispy tempura batter. The potatoes were fire though. Millionaire bacon was delicious, but bacon alone isn't going to make the experience amazing. All in all, A+ for menu creativity, B- for execution, but the wait was just brutal. read more

I came here during a weekday for brunch. That is probably the best time to come due to street parking filling up fast. To drink, I had the raspberry lemonade. This is easily 5/5. Perfect blend of sweetness & tartness. For an appetizer we got the popcorn chicken & Korean FC. My favorite was the popcorn chicken it was 5/5 and I loved that they added actual popcorn. Got take out to eat with some other folks. I've been to the SF location before but haven't been to the Oakland location. One of my favorite things to order is lemon ricotta pancake, so I knew I was going to order it here. The lemon flavor is nice and punchy and the ricotta adds a nice texture and undertone to the lemon. There are other places with fluffier pancakes, but I like that they have the option to make it a meal and come with eggs and chicken mango sausage as well. I also tried the tornado galbi omurice: the rice flavors and fluff from the egg balance each other out well. The galbi complements the other ingredients and doesn't overpower them at all. There was a bit of a mix up with the online order not submitting, but the manager and wait staff were very nice about it! I got a lychee iced tea as I was waiting for my order, and wow the lychee flavor really hits you hard without being overwhelming. Overall a very pleasant take out experience -- which can be a nice alternative to waiting for a long time during a busy brunch hour. We've been here a few times and brought friends. The food is pretty good, and that's reflected by the consistent crowds and significant wait for any given weekend brunch. This time it was just two of us, and we signed in on the tablet at the entrance. 11-23 minutes was the proposed wait. We walked down the block for a few minutes and then came back. Still 3rd on the list, even after 20 minutes. Another 10 minutes pass, and we're still 3rd. My partner went back after another few minutes to see where we were, and it said our table was ready, and then poof, it was gone. She inquired to see what happened, and the staff said that we missed our table. What?! We've been standing right here, and the table was ready right before our eyes. They were able to give us a table, back near the kitchen, and it was so noisy and busy that it felt like we were in the middle of a freeway. Despite being in such a busy area, it felt like we were being ignored. We waited probably 10 minutes without any attention, so we each took a turn in the bathroom to wash our hands. When I was upstairs to go to the restroom, I saw they had a bar up there with open space, and they were just cleaning and setting it up. My partner got up and hunted down the hostess to ask if we could move, and she was told that we'd have to start over and get back on the waitlist (now 40 minutes) if we wanted to change tables. Ha. OK, we'll stay put. We waited another several minutes, but after continuing to be ignored, we decided to leave. No amount of deliciousness is worth terrible service, and we certainly were not going to pay $23-25/plate for a chaotic and crappy experience. We'll definitely NOT be coming back here, and we certainly will not recommend it any further. It perfectly highlighted the seafood and the potatoes were cooked and seasoned very well. On service, it wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. There were times where we'd ask questions or for assistance and though they'd help, it felt the we were bothering them.
