The first time I went I to my car just to eat a shrimp and when I tell you the shrimp and fish were so good I almost ate everything in my bag and started to get out and go order some more. A hidden gem in Covina! We got their lent special, chicken tenders, and onion rings. Everything was fried to perfection. And you really can't beat their prices! This would be great for catering. Their cole slaw is delicious, crunchy and refreshing! The sauces were amazing as well, there is something special to be said about the ranch. I have lived in Covina for several years and I have always seen Kitty's driving by daily. Today I decided to give it a go and I am very happy to say my experience and expectations were exceeded. I got the Lent platter, 2 pieces of fish, 5 shrimp, with fries all for a reasonable price, along with a side of calamari. Here is my verdict. The dredge was delicious, crispy and was not soaked with oil. The seafood was fresh, not a day old but fresh from today. The oil was clean, there was no residual taste of old fryer oil. Everything was delicious and freshly cooked. The owners were very nice and kind. They were very happy to suggest how to maximize my experience for my budget. Lent Friday and this place was crazy busy. They had a lent special that seemed to be the popular choice for most people tonight, they have a lot more fish plates as well. Lent special was 6 jumbo shrimp, 2 pieces of fish and fries. It was all pretty good. Service was great. Everyone was nice and in good spirits. Wait was about 20-25 minutes, but that's okay it's Lent. Okay guys, I must say if you're looking for quality seafood locally come stop by Kittys! I visited today with my boyfriend, we got the fish and chips and BY FAR THEE BEST FISH I HAVE EVER HAD! Everything down to the crunch of the tempura-like batter was wonderful! Fish was fresh and fried to order, batter was light and crispy and the tartar sauce was the icing on top. The closest to authentic British fish and chips anywhere in southern California. It's still a traditional mom and pop shop, so it's best to order in person though I wish they could provide online ordering. I'd probably stop by at least once a week if they did. I bet they could get that place packed during Lent. They get so many phone calls that you can't get through. read more

Tried this place for the first time after living in the area for 2 years and I'm mad I didn't try it sooner! We had the fish and chips which was really good. We also had the calamari, hush puppies, jalapeño poppers, and macaroni salad and everything was delicious. My only complaint (well 2) was that we waited about 30 minutes for our food, but soon realized it's faster to order ahead so we'll do that next time. This is the original H Salt Fish and Chip store. The very friendly owner told me they changed their name a few years ago. The price is very reasonable. The portions isn't large but it's only $2.99 so it is actually worth the price. I had fry zucchini, fry mushrooms and fry sweet potatoes. All $2.99 each and it comes in a white envelope bag (like the popcorn chicken bag). I got 6 pieces of sweet potatoes! 4 pieces of zucchini. Sorry. I ate them while driving home so no photos.
