Trying Xxolo beer
Roger C.

Here me out.....the FOOD was great, but it is greatly overshadowed by their very UN-customer service (1-star) We came here a few times over the years and everything was great, so not sure what has happened with owners/management: SERVICE: (1/5) The start to this adventure was the hello that came from somewhere...but when I looked, all I saw was a woman looking at her tablet. I waited for her to look up, but did not happen, so I asked her if we could sit anywhere?....and after the third time asking, someone (I think a customer) said "yes, you can sit anywhere". It did not get much better than that, from the not understanding what we meant by asking if they had "Coke products" to never checking back with us for water/soda refills, napkins, to-go boxes, or even the bill. NO BUENO...luckily I was able to get up and ask the person at the bar all by myself. Almost felt like I was inconveniencing her with requests. AMBIANCE: It has a cool bar-hangout feel. It is starting to age a bit, but still eye catching when walking from the street. It also has outdoor seating in a covered patio. FOOD: Here is the quandary....I picked this place for the menu selection, and if I decide to leave because of the huge service miss....I would miss out on the food (which was fabulous!) so, would I come back? Not for the service.......but, then, the food. (Again, quandary) We had the following: *Fried pickles. Crispy, the shell stays on and the pickle packs the right crispy punch. (5/5) *Spicy edamame. Very tasty with a yummy garlic spicy-ness!! (5/5) *Birria tacos. Can't go wrong! Extra stuffed tacos with a nice crispy cheese and consume (but could add some salt). (4/5) *Carne Asada tacos? Also big, full of steak with a nice amount of pico and avocado crema. (5/5) *Cali Chicken Sandwich? Tender, juicy grilled chicken with a perfect amount of ranch to compliment the tomato and avocado. Great bun too. (5/5) So...the Chef? 5-stars!!! We left with our appetite satisfied, but so disappointed in the service.

Place can be packed at times to watch the game. Some good drinks and good bites. High and low top tables. Or the bar as always. Indoor and patio seating lots of tv screens no bad seat in the house. Great service!

Great place nice atmosphere, come through great place.

Great place/ atmosphere pretty small better for smaller groups. Managers/ bartenders are amazing come through.

Bacon Duck Tacos

Kluddes Kitchen + Bar while short on menu is long on flavor! Overall the flavors were tasty, rich and deep. This is not a place for a light meal or to stay on your diet. This is definitely a "treat" night. We started with the Bacon Duck Tacos, which comes 3 to an order. Considering how rich these are, any more would be too much. The bacon and duck are chopped together which makes for a good combination and bite: neither too much of either at a time. The pico de gallo, chipotle aioli and pickled onion were great compliments. These garnishments help to cut the richness of the bacon and duck, so that this wasn't too fatty. The Mac Attack wasn't what my Mom served!! Mine had ample carne asada Angus Beef and it just added to the richness and heartiness of the dish. The Cavatappi pasta was richly coated in melted cheese. There is a ton of cheese on the pasta and beef. The Pepper Jack adds some heat, which enhanced this M & C, but didn't over power the flavors. Fortunately, we also had the Brussel Sprouts. This helped to cut the richness of the other 2 dishes. The balsamic glaze was rich (no surprise since everything else is also rich) but it wasn't over powering. There is Cauliflower in with the Brussel Sprouts, this didn't add whole a lot - more of a filler. The Garlic Parm Fries: house cut fries with a center ladle of a garlic/Parmesan mixture was okay. The garlic/Parmesan mixture was tasty but didn't spread too well on the fries. The fries, in and of themselves, were okay. This is definitely a diet "cheat" meal contender.

The drinks are delicious! New spot for a good drink to chill. The corn bites are a pretty good appetizer. Good music playing. Tvs playing sports inside and outside.

If I could give this place 5 stars, I wouldn't. They are fake news. There is not a single beer on draft but photos and website show otherwise. They have very limited beer available on can/bottle only. The food is expensive and it's barely average at best.

Pretty chill gastropub in Redlands. The service has been pretty great the times I've been here. Even on busy nights it seems the bartenders/servers are always on top of meeting everyone's needs. They're pretty funny and friendly too. They have a pretty good selection of beers on tap. I'm glad that they've had the Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout the times that I've gone. Bar food/gastropubs tend to be pricey and this place is no different. They do have $2 Taco Tuesdays and the tacos are pretty good with someone interesting options like Bacon Duck and Elk. Overall the food is pretty good, but still pretty pricey for the quality and quantity.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

When we arrived, there was a group of three ahead of us, which was completely fine. Once it was our turn, one of my friends made a lighthearted joke just to lighten the mood, that's simply his personality. The hostess immediately responded with a very dry attitude, which we brushed off at first. However, things only got worse from there. As we stood there waiting, multiple groups who arrived after us were suddenly being attended to first. She was checking their IDs, writing their names down on the iPad, and letting them in before us, even though we had clearly been waiting longer. We eventually approached her and asked why our IDs hadn't been checked or our names added yet. She responded by saying she had told us to wait in line, which never happened. None of us were ever directed to a line. From that point on, her tone became increasingly condescending and disrespectful. When I told her that she should speak to customers more respectfully, she mockingly grabbed her ear and said, "What? I can't hear you, it's loud in here," even though it was not loud at all. It felt extremely immature and unnecessary. She also made comments about being the "senior hostess," but honestly, that title means nothing if customers are being treated poorly. Everyone has bad days, but that does not justify taking it out on guests. My friends and I are not the type to complain or leave reviews, but the attitude and behavior we experienced were genuinely inappropriate and unprofessional. We ended up leaving without even going inside. Unfortunately we did not get her name. But she is a white female with blonde hair and glasses, wearing a pink and white Renaissance style outfit and distinctive floral inspired eyeliner makeup that went all the way to her hairline. I'll admit, I eventually became frustrated and felt the need to defend myself and my friends because of how we were being spoken to. I'm not proud that the interaction even reached that point, but the way we were treated felt unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and disrespectful from the beginning.

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was the main issue. The bartenders seemed inexperienced, and our server wasn't familiar with the drinks, often needing to check with someone else. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round. Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time. That would be understandable if service were faster, but it took another 20 minutes to get the second drink. We were also told drinks from the regular menu take longer, so I tried one from the specialty menu...still a 20-minute wait. It was a frustrating experience. That said, the space itself is smaller and more intimate, which could make it a nice date spot. When we walked into this speakeasy, behind a movable shelf, I was greatly disappointed by the size of this place. It literally was the size of a walk in closet. Probably a fifth of the size of the one in Rancho. The room was so small and cramped. We sat at the round tables which was small for 2 people, and they were spaced so close to each other. Another couple sat next to us and we could here their entire conversation. The space is just so cramped. Maybe 6 round tables with barely a foot apart. Then the bar top basically when someone is sitting there, theres less then a foot of space to go inbetween. The decor is beautiful. I did enjoy the library theme. Service here is a disappointment. There was inly 2 groups (including ourselves) when we arrived and service was excessively slow. On their featured cocktails which was the same as the one in Rancho (6 drinks?), they were already out of the first 2. And mind you, they've only been open for 2 hours. We asked them to prepare unique off the menu drinks. They basically gave us drinks from the main restaurant menu. Rum for the hills and an old fashion. The bartender at the Rancho location is so much better and nicer and way more creative. Able to create unique individual drinks off the top of his head. Not here though. She asked us what we were ordering at least times. And she still got our orders (food) wrong. The glass was sticky from the sugars. We ordered no grilled onions on the burger and it came with grilled onions. She was so unsure of what they carried (alcohol wise) that she had to go ask the other guy on multiple occasions. When the bill came, we didnt get a pen to sign it with. So we went to the bar area. The guy was a total A-hole. He was like what do you want? Woah guy. We're trying to give you more of our hard earned money via tip and sign this check so we can get the heck out of here. Like chill bro. We should be there ones angry with how bad the evening went. Not you. There were multiple flies flying around our table and food. A large fly, and then a small gnat around our drink. It was gross. Overall, it was a terrible experience here. There was mystique (I give you that, love the books). But nothing high end or exclusive about it. Usage of the space and their knowledge of the drinks reminds me of a run down dive bar. They need the bartender from Rancho to come here and revamp everything about this place. The only good thing here is that we were able to order burgers (full menu availability) in this speakeasy as suppose to the one in Victoria Gardens. But besides that, I am 100% not coming back. It just isnt worth it.
