Ex employee here Feb 2024 - march 2025 Just wanted to share some things that were not addressed during my time at Kneaders in the bakery department, particularly regarding the management and workplace environment under the current leadership. Ever since the departure of the previous general management, the current leadership under Joe and Paige has been marked by inconsistency, unprofessionalism, and, most troublingly, a lack of response to serious concerns, including those related to sexual harassment. I was recently terminated by Joe, and I feel compelled to express my concerns. On multiple occasions, both Alexxis and I observed a co-worker, Micah, inappropriately staring at Alexxis while she was performing bakery tasks, such as bending over near the oven. Alexxis has expressed reluctance to speak up for herself, but both of us have raised this issue directly with Joe and Paige. Despite our efforts to bring attention to the matter, nothing was done to address these uncomfortable and inappropriate behaviors. Joe even stated that he "doesn't know how to have that kind of conversation with employees," and thus the issue was left unaddressed. Given Alexxis's discomfort with Micah, I tried to adjust my schedule to ensure that she was not left alone with him. However, Joe responded by cutting my hours significantly, claiming it was due to it being a slower season, when it was because he hired Micah and promised him full-time hours when they weren't available. Despite Alexxis and I already having full-time hours, Joe insisted on evening out the hours, which led to further frustration. The lack of advance notice about schedule changes made it difficult for me to plan, and whenever I raised concerns about my hours, Joe was dismissive and unresponsive. Furthermore, the work environment, particularly in the back of the bakery, has become increasingly unprofessional. On one occasion, Paige shared graphic details about her sexual activity, specifically related to her genitalia, and asked if we wanted to see a picture. This incident, among others, contributed to a culture of inappropriate conversations that persisted in the bakery. While I acknowledge that I, too, made a mistake by drawing an inappropriate caricature, I want to emphasize that this behavior was not isolated to me. The work culture had become permissive of such inappropriate conduct. As someone who took great pride in my work and consistently strived to be reliable, I cannot help but feel disappointed by the direction the bakery has taken under the current management. Both Alexxis and I, despite being the younger team members, were the only ones who understood how to properly bake bread. We even attempted to help Joe improve his technique, but he was not receptive to our input and insisted on adhering strictly to a process that led to consistently poor-quality product. read more

Kneaders Bakery is tasty and has a fun atmosphere. Plus, they have a drive thru. I had a half turkey sandwich on hazelnut bread with a side of broccoli salad. Plus, I had a bowl of white cheddar & poblano soup with slice of baguette bread. Also, I had a pomegranate berry tea. The bread at kneaders is fantastic. I especially like the white cheddar & poblano soup because I like the taste of poblano chilies. The turkey used on the sandwich is nice because it is not deli meat. They make the sandwich with a cut of turkey meat. Plus, the tea is brewed fresh. They are not using the chemical tea dispenser here. They have a couple other great iced tea selections as well as some hot tea choices. I like broccoli salad but the one they make has too much dressing for my liking. read more

But here's where it went downhill: the service wasn't exactly friendly. No greeting, no "thank you," just a curt exchange that felt like I was bothering them by ordering. Not the warmest vibe. And about that French toast... I ordered the "Chunky French Toast," expecting, well, chunky. Instead, what I got were two oddly inconsistent slices -- one thick, one noticeably thin. I was so excited to try this place. Was extremely disappointed in the food quality. I ordered chicken pesto sandwich in the bread was so soggy the chicken fell through. Also had the loaded potato soup and it tasted like it was from a can. I ordered a grilled cheese from the kids meal for my daughter. The cheese wasn't melted and it was just greasy bread.
