But here again I will give an honest review from the prospect of a middle eastern who knows a good tasting food. I have been to this restaurant so many times from the early days when they opened up. The food here is just amazing, home cooked by Chef wafa and her lovely staff. We tried many items on the menu as well as their daily specials and everything we ordered was just delicious. All ME restaurants normally don't include this because it's complicated to make. Most offer your standard kabob, schwarma falafel faire. I also love this stuff but Kobee fried is exceptional. This place has delicious meals and incredibly great deals. The amount of food you get for the price is extremely generous. The service is also super cool and friendly, especially when you consider how busy they get. Their meat is of high quality and their sauces are very tasty. I cannot recommend this place enough if you're hungry and need large amounts of food for a group of people, or if you wanna live of leftovers for a few days. My personal tip : Call ahead and order in advance instead of walking in to order. They get very busy and you might end up waiting a bit for your food, so it's better to plan your order ahead of time. When I saw the aunties were making Kobee in the dining area, I knew this is the place to eat delicious food. They were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I ordered their beef shawarma with hummus and fries. Once we sat down, they brought warm, soft pita and turnip and pickles. The shawarma wrap came very fast! Literally the best, juiciest shawarma wrap I've ever had. The pita was nice and thin and soft. The pickles and turnips are inside which gives it the perfect crunch and the meat was divinely seasoned and soft and the ratio of meat to veggie to sauce was the definition of fulfilling. Even the fries were crisped to perfection. The hummus was very smooth and simple, which is how I love it. And the kobee fried plate was soooo yummy. The kobee was HOT when it came out and the meat inside was so juicy and seasoned to perfection. The pine nuts gave it a good soft crunch and the breading was soo crispy on the outside and soft on the inside--just as it should be. It's a small dining area, but the aunties give it a wonderful ambience with their warmth and it makes you feel like you're eating at home with your mom having cooked for you in the kitchen. Someone brought me some of Kobee Factory's hummus and I was in love! This Syrian restaurant's hummus seems to be more tahini based and it is to die for! The staff are super nice and always accommodating. My fave meal is the BBQ Beef Kabob plate and then take home a large order of hummus. Always good to order in advance if you're there during busy times as parking and seating are very limited! No matter what, don't miss this place, it's a real gem! read more

This place is honestly really, really good quality stuff. What they charge is worth the price which is always a big factor for me when I pick my stars. I don't ever mind paying for good quality. The hummus here is so smooth and creamy. I always add in some of my favorite olive oil after I bring it home and the hummus does a great job of bringing out the olive flavor. The Mjadara was the best! I love the lentils and the grilled onions on top sealed the deal! It was honestly my favorite dish and my bf and I are big meat eaters! The Beef Kebob is super flavorful. They may not be as big as the ones you get from other places but the big flavor makes up for it. Also on the plus side. They give you a grilled jalapeño which no one ever does. Anyway, they were always really nice when we pick up food. You always gotta appreciate people who have good spirits knowing how the restaurant business can be, having to deal with difficult guests on a daily basis. Believe the hype! I was just looking at a couple of reviews before I wrote mine and saw that people kept referring to it as Lebanese food which I found confusing since the store sign says "Syrian" kitchen. Syria and Lebanon border each other and they are two different countries. I'm sure the food is very similar given their regional location but if the sign says "Syrian" why would you still call it Lebanese? Maybe it's not that important, but I wouldn't say I was eating Salvadorean food if I was eating Mexican food. Ya feel me? Anyhoo, disclaimer aside, I bookmarked this place originally since it was a Jonathan Gold recommendation. I finally had the opportunity to try it myself because I fortunately had a work meeting to attend that was nearby. I ordered the mujadara even though I'm not a vegetarian but my body was craving vegetables from having so much eat lately. The verdict: It was SO good and flavorful! Their hummus was amazing but the mujadara took me by surprise. I've never had mujadara before but I am definitely having it again. The onions gave it an added bonus and it wasn't overpowering either. They were friendly, their bathrooms were clean, and their service was fast. My order was ready within 5 minutes and I was impressed considering that I went there for lunch. The have a small parking lot where I was able to park which made it also convenient. I will have to recommend this place to my other friends in the valley and will definitely have to come here again to try the other items on their menu the next time I'm in Van Nuys. I wish I could pluck this tiny place (with the even tinier parking lot) lost in the strip of auto repair shops and set in a place where it would get the attention it deserves. The food is delicious. I've seen Kobee Factory on so many must-try places, luckily I had the chance to try it recently. I past by this place all the time so I was pretty excited to try it. The venue isn't large but it wasn't busy when we came on a Saturday afternoon. It took my partner and I awhile to figure out to order but we decided to get the Beef kabob, the Mjadara, and the yogurt drink. The food portion was pretty generous, one order would be enough to feed two people. The food was really delicious and didn't disappoint, I was a huge fan of the Mjadara, I didn't realize that lentils can be that delicious. I definitely recommend ordering the Mjadara. The beef kabob was well made and I enjoyed it as well. We didn't realize the yogurt drink would be on the saltier side, so lesson learned- always ask if you're unsure. I'm going to start by saying that I come here often and I always order the same thing... the chicken shish plate ($13) sometimes I even buy 2 or 3 of these combos to eat later in the day or to take to work..normally I take them to go but this time I decided to sit down and enjoy my meal. What are Kobee? For you Angelenos, let me put it like this: they're a hearty, Syrian dish reminiscent of the potato balls from Porto's. In my case, the ground meat was packed into bulghur and seasoned with pine nuts, barbecued and served up with cucumber/yogurt salad, warm pita. outstanding hummus and house-made pickles. And the kobee are delicious. The first probe with a fork tine releases a trickle of broth reminiscent of Asian/Georgian dumplings. Rich and satisfying, an order comes with three Kobee, which could be enough for two. And then there's the Mjadara. Lentils and bulghur lightly seasoned, fried, and topped with skinny slivers of fried onion. This dish is way lighter than you would guess, seeing how many times I used the word "fried". It's delicious, filling, and also enough for two. The youghurt drink is similar to the Armenian tan and most refreshing. Each order is made one at a time, so expect to wait a bit. The proprietess is delightful and does not fail to stop by your table and ask how everything was. Street parking (or the tiny lot.) Syrian music in the background.
