We enjoyed our lunch at Kobo Teriyaki. The place is clean. The counter person polite and kind. And the food was tasty. Was it the best teriyaki we've ever had? No. But it was good and I will definitely go back to try some other things on their very vast and varied menu. I had the chicken teriyaki with noodles. My husband got some beef dish I can't remember which one! He liked it, and that's all that matters! Don't hesitate giving them a try! The tempera shrimp were tasty. This review is solely on the food, not the wait staff or the inside of the restaurant as it was a to go order. The service is fast, food was ready within 15 mins. The only thing is I asked for beef and chicken Yakisoba and it only came with chicken. I personally did not like the taste or seasoning of this restaurants Yakisoba but that's why is a taste thing. The portions were large but with how fast the food came out I expected it to be hot but it was lukewarm at best. I will definitely try this place again and pick something different. read more

Wow! Nice lady who greet us and they have a couple of customers eating and we order teriyaki chicken and I have yakisoba tofu to go. We got home I said it's probably not good , but I was wrong it's freaking good!!! my husband says this is really good and there's a lot in the box for that price it's worth it. My husband introduced me to Kobo on our vacation to Washington over Christmas...amazing! Staff are so friendly and the food is wonderful - not overly oily etc. Try their house made chili sauce (which you can buy to take home!) Prices have gone up considerably due to inflation, but the noodle bowls are still around $11-$13 and very filling. Try this place out! read more

The people working here are just the nicest sweetest friendliest of people. I really hoped I'd like the food. I gave it three tries. Ordered the chicken katsu and found it extremely tough to eat. Next time I ordered the sesame chicken but it had no flavor. Next time I ordered an orange chicken bowl but ended up with teriyaki chicken with a side of what I believe to be orange sauce. Too much cabbage in my bowl, I got three carrots and one piece of broccoli. Other family members got other things such as the sushi, gyozas and egg rolls and said it was ok but not to die for. After three tries I am going to try elsewhere but will keep them in my mind if I can't find something better. read more

Stopped by here last night after a car cruise in nearby Centralia. First time here , place looked nice and clean . My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken breast plate but the lady behind the counter said she was sorry but they had run out of breasts so we both ordered the # 1 teriyaki chicken , rice and veggie plate . I assume the chicken was thigh meat , which my wife usually isn't fond of but we both absolutely loved our meals. Very generous portions of chicken , in fact we both only ate half of our meals and have leftovers for tonight. Good job Kobo Teriyaki , we will be seeing you again very soon ! read more

We four friends met here for lunch, and all agreed to give them 5 starts! The restaurant was spotlessly clean and tidy. The nice lady who took our order at the counter was helpful and friendly. The menu and prices were wheat we had expected, just right for quality food. I had the "Rice and Vegetable Bowl" ($8.50) with Teriyaki sauce on the side. My vegetables were cooked perfectly and the rice tender, it was plenty of food. We all had the complementary hot Green Tea. My friends had different Teriyaki plates that came with rice and vegetables, they could not eat all their food and took home extras. There are many choices including Susi. I have had the California Susi in the past, it was very good. We all recommend you try KOBO, it is a quiet relaxing place to meet for lunch. read more

The service was friendly and fast, but the food quality is poor. I ordered a chicken and beef to go, the chicken was really dry, the beef was not really beef I don't think... Kind of grisly. The small amount of vegetables were really soggy. What a disappointing meal! I paid twice what I would've paid at another place. I don't understand why the reviews are so positive. There's a much better place across from the Chehalis swimming Pool, or Fuji teriyaki in Centralia or dragonfly by the fairgrounds, they are all amazing places to eat. About a year ago I used to come here all the time. Then somewhere in the beginning of summer 2021 something changed. The portions got smaller, the quality of food went down, and the prices went up. I waited until just a few days ago Sept. 27th to come back to the restaurant, crossing my fingers it was back to how it used to be. Sadly, it wasn't. The chicken Katsu was soggy, and looked like it sat under a warmer for an hour or more. Maybe a different dish is better but less you want to be disappointed, I'd stay away from the Katsu. read more

They intentionally try to make portions look large but fluff the bottom up with white rice & put the meat on top, and a ball of white rice on the side to look like it's the only rice. There was less then 10 pieces of chicken in my $13 teriyaki ! I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce & she said it was in there. It was soy sauce. A very tiny cup. Then she didn't give me any sauce for my egg rolls. They rush you out too. Horrible value for the product you get. The veggies are not fresh, they are frozen. The breaded chicken & shrimp are all generic frozen breaded ones that they heat up and put a generic sauce on. The orange chicken sauce is the same as the egg roll sauce & general tso sauce. They originally gave bigger meat portions. So angry that I paid all this money for less then one chicken breast full of meat. The "salad" is just steamed frozen mixed veggies with NO seasoning !! Dunno what happened here but lets just say that the bathroom at my work should have been cordoned off after me and my co-workers came back for an "emergency session" in them after eating at Kobo. All three of us had chicken teriyaki, rice, and stir fry vegetables. All three of us were in a meeting shortly afterwards and started sweating and hearing each others stomaches gurgle. One by one we each slunk off to take care of business. NOT GOOD. My stomach was not right for the rest of the day. Not sure what happened but obviously it wasn't good for any of us. Contamination of some kind obviously occurred. I have been there before, not because I like it, but because my coworkers do. The portions are ok, except for veggies, which is like a tablespoon. The prices arent so great compared to other teriyaki places and the meals DONT include soup. No refills on the 2.00 medium pop either. Well, unless you want to pay 50. Irritating to say the least. The bathrooms are abysmally gross. I am pretty sure the floors havent seen a mop in over a few months. Not to mention that the open/curtain door to the kitchen is immediately adjacent to the bathroom. Ew. The staff is nice. I will give it a star for that. Pretty sure I wont be going back here. I would suggest skipping it and heading down to Happy Teriyaki down the road. read more

Okay.. so I've been here a lot .. basically 2-3 times a month and my family (adult) has frequented this place and several of my friends swear by it. But today? I spent 20+ on chicken and prawns. Since I have a baseline for what the normal quantity is at this restaurant I've noticed a couple things. Staff is friendly. When she said 5 minutes for my meal once I paid for it, I mean that's super fast and super great if done Correctly.. but everything tasted pre cooked and like it had been under a heat lamp for a long time or microwaved. Prices went up significantly.. no big deal as the prices for ever are going up, but.... Here's the bullet points: Eat in.. you get a normal quantity of food.. Order to go? .. rice is double and meet is half. The chicken was cut super thin.. think low quality beef jerky and it was almost as dry. Also.. prawns are prawns. Shrimp and prawns are different. Prawns are sweet, shrimp not so much. Prawns are larger. Shrimp are small. Don't try and pass shrimp off for prawns I won't go back after today's visit. read more

I really like this place! I regularly grab lunch here. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. The food is fresh and tasty and the prices are reasonable. The gyoza are great and I love their steamed vegetables - just right every time. I also love that they don't use MSG and offer brown rice. I usually order the "bowl" version of the meals as I find them to hold more than enough food. By the way, the full plates are huge (I think they could be split just fine). read more

Picked up order to find Beef Yakisoba (ordered chicken), 2 chicken teriyaki plates both with fried rice where it was supposed to be a side of fried rice and both of those to contain the regular white rice. I ordered like $40 worth of food, I decided to eat in as we were traveling back to Portland...boy let me tell you that food was out the door and on the tables before I could sit down, this worried me the most. I'm trying to figure out how can this food can be cooked so fast! After a quick taste of all items, I found the rice to be terrible, as a rice lover I was totally disappointed. I ordered fried rice, this stuff was still white in color with speckles of peas and carrots. No flavor and not hot. The teriyaki chicken was very rubbery definitely not fresh, they tempura fried a carrot slice, and zucchini, and worst of all a potato slice, yes a potato slice was dipped and fried in Tempura. After being completely blown away by this I decided to give my plate a few more bites, then I noticed the food had a soapy aftertaste almost like the dish detergent soap on the plates. I like this place, the food is always good. My problem is, when you order extra meat, why is that the amount of rice grows by 3. I love the way their rice is prepared, the meat nicely grilled but, I ask for extra meat and I get over the cups of rice? While waiting for tire service at the nearby Walmart, we grabbed lunch at the only non-fast food option- teriyaki! Service was friendly and she seemed to remember all the regulars by name. Food was good- sort of typical PNW teriyaki menu with meals including meat, rice, and veggies. I had the spicy chicken at spicy level 4, which was the highest on their scale. I like spicy, so if I'm ever eating here again, I'll ask for an 8... The beef teriyaki reminded me of the teriyaki you get at plate lunch restaurants in Hawaii- the teriyaki sauce is on the sweeter side. read more

I love this place and it's much closer than my old favorite. There is a large menu with a verity of selections. Huge portions! Good prices and fast friendly service. They also have a punch card you can get stamped for everything you buy. Since getting pregnant I can't top craving tempura vegetables, so I get a stamp for my side order as well. read more
