I'm not one for reviews but I had a great experience here and wanted to personally mention the service because it's NYC and not everywhere you'll get great service. I've seen a few dealerships before seeing Koeppel Mazda. Some others were giving me a low value for my trade in vehicle and others just wouldn't work with me because I was missing a higher down payment and so on. I met Jonathan Stinger (hope I spelled it correctly) and he was great. I thought "yea this is too good to be true. They're working with me too well." But that's exactly what he did. Work with me! Meet me in the middle and see what was possible. He made it happen where I walked away with a brand new vehicle of my dream. I was able to go trade in my little first car (ford) to a lovely SUV Mazda. At first I was skeptical especially when waiting for my white vehicle to arrive but when it took too long, Jonathan showed me another color if I was interested in not waiting any longer. I have been shopping for a new lease for the past month and I can tell you this place was my worst experience I have had for getting a qoute on a lease. I came in and was introduced to Carlos and told him I was looking into the Mazda 3 GT hatchback w/Premium. I waited over 20 minutes sitting there just for him to come back with numbers. Finally, he tells me for 15k/36 months it would be $349 a month with 2k total down! I told him right nope that will not do, too much. He nasked me how much I wanted to pay and i said $250. He looked at me in discontent and immediately said no. Now I am not expecting to get 250 but any dealership should expect someone to try bargaining because someone who know what they are shopping for should know what the numbers are and how much money is on the table. I asked him for a breakdown on how he got the price, selling price, 4th of july incentives, mf/apr and residual. Here is when he starting getting rude, and notice he was annoyed I was asking for these numbers. He throws a piece of paper and a pen and tells me to write down what I want to know. I replied and told him, I already told you, just give me a breakdown and not some chicken scratch on piece of paper. He comes back after 5 minutes from the managers office and instead of trying to offer me a better deal, he comes back with the selling price and mf.I was shocked because this was the first dealership that I visited and would not try to negotiate the price. (shopped for the GLI and Renegae) Also I asked this guy multiple times on what are the 4th of july incentives from mazda were, such as lease cash back aside from the dealer discount and he NEVER anwswered that question! (ASKED LIEK 7 TIMES!) He kept giving me an attidude and took me as a fool. I was fully aware there was a ton of money on the table. I think he thought I would not know what the incentives from mazda were so he can pocket the money. I was amazed at how he would not try to drop the price and answer my questions clearly about what was the mazda incentives for 4th of july! He kept bragging I wont find the hatchback gt anywhere else but here to entice me. I dont give a F lol. Listen I was not expecting $250 a month, I wanted numbers so I can understand what you are selling and if you refuse to try to drop the price and be clear with me, then I am done with you sir. I walked out feeling insulted, taking me like a fool without knowing. Unfotunately alot of customers do not know better and probably any positive reviews here do not know they were rippted off. So I got the same car for $285 a month elsewhere and will never looked back at this place. STAY AWAY! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! This is the first time I write a review - too bad is for the wrong reasons. My original experience with Koeppel was great, they did a fantastic job with my lease 3 years ago and then did a great job servicing the car in this time. Going to them as my lease approached expiration was a no brainer... I won't lose more time writing the details of what happened next, all I can say is that I find absolutely unprofessional and unethical the way that Jim Mendez and Carlos Velez operate. Providing -in writing- with quotes that are artificially low is a tactic that should be punished by law, arguing that this was done "by mistake" is difficult to believe when there were at least 4 or 5 follow up phone calls (they called me) when numbers where recalculated and when they even offered and additional discount. You made me lose time and made Koeppel lose a customer. read more

I recently purchased a lease on a new CX-5. What impressed me is that I was able to go to the Koeppel website, pick out the vehicle configuration I was interested in and get a price that I liked - all via the website. The dealership then fully honored what I had been offered on the website. There were no dirty tricks, or attempts to switch and bait. My experience with car dealers in the past is that you never pay the price you see online, the sticker is often nothing more than a ruse to get you into the showroom. In that regard Koeppel are a trustworthy dealer to work with. I had to wait longer than usual to get the vehicle, which was a particular specification that I wanted. The COVID situation has disrupted the supply chain for new vehicles. I was kept well informed all along by the salesman assigned to my order, Stein Celestin. Koeppel Mazda has a good text based system for keeping in touch and also it is easy to speak in person if needed. The website also keeps a record of the offer you received online as well as the vehicle configuration. The process of getting my lease was pretty smooth and Koppel handled some issues to do with my status as I am not a US citizen. I chose to purchase the maintenance option as it seemed like a fair deal and did not add much to the monthly lease fee. Time will tell if that was a good decision. I'll come back to give an update on the servicing and after care experience. Suffice to say, I am really pleased so far both with the vehicle which is really exceeding my expectations as well as how I was treated by Koeppel. read more

As dishonest and disingenuous as you would expect from any stealership. Finance manager ( whos name i cant even remember) refused to disclose terms of my finance when I asked , sent us away back to salesman so he can process the loan offers behind our backs , selected the highest intrest credit union that best benefits himself and his dealer without my consent or approval and refused to disclose all my available offers when I asked. Refused to disclose my itemized invoice when i asked. I went to confront him about making the decision for me instead of disclosing all my credit offers so that I can make the choice , he than tries to lie saying that he did disclose all my offers when all he did was present me with extended warranty add ons with tire and wheel protection packages. Complete waste of my time and all because I didn't have a need to buy in on all there high cost extended warranties with wheel and tire protection packages . My first and last time doing business with koeppel and all there associate branches.. in about 2 weeks from my posting of this review the federal trade commission will put a stop to these scam artists and all the other dealers taking advantage of there customers thankfully.. Absolutely trash business practices and a absolute trash dealer to do business with. So much for retention. read more

I was shopping around and trying to make a decision between mazda, jeep and toyota. After I submitted some requests Koeppel Mazda was the first dealer contacting me. Violetta called me and was very friendly on the phone, she answered all of my questions to make sure I'll make an educated decision before bringing me into the dealership. Due to COVID-19 I was really concerned about visits although I did make an appointment with her to check the car and features. When we came in it was really busy in the showroom and I was told that manager Saiful will help us out. In a meantime I was waiting to be helped, Violetta spent some time with us explaining the vehicle features and provided us with water. Manager Saiful invited us into his office and was really friendly and respectful. Although he knew we were looking at different makes/models he spent some time with us regardless and answered any of our questions regarding CX-5 trims and pricing. We went to a couple more dealerships after and were really disappointed the way we were treated. The moment they found out I'm comparing different makes they didn't even try to help me at all. They just threw the numbers and didn't want to spent any more time with me. After comparing different dealers I would surely go with Koeppel Mazda to pay off my respect to them. I know that all dealers are experiencing a high volume of inquiries now, but somehow only Koeppel team knows how to manage it during this time and pays attention to each end every customer. Then book value means nothing and is fake. That's what they tell you when they under value your car to there advantage. They been doing this for years. Most car buyers are ignorant to this. I came in to test drive a CX-5, but let him know I still needed to compare other vehicles. He said no problem, provided me with a quote, and listened to my specific needs. I ended up coming back and committing to the deal. He worked with me over the next week on the phone, in text, and through email to finalize the details of releasing my old lease. He reminded me of details I had not thought of, and gave me his opinion on items I was thinking about upgrading to. He helped me physically transfer items from the old car to the new. He personally transferred the plates on Saturday night after Thanksgiving. All in all: no pressure, patient, great attitude, and a personal touch to everything. My experienced was very disappointing , I called in for service because I was experiencing a vibration when I stepped on the gas, while driving locally, and wanted it looked at. I inquired about what the cost would be to diagnose my vehicle and was told it was $149 but if the warranty covered the work, they would waive the fee, I have an extended warranty I purchased with my vehicle, I also needed an oil change so I inquired about the price and was told $39.95 a tire rotation would be included. I made an appointment for Thursday March 9th, and was greeted very warmly by the service advisor Jeanette and the staff on duty. Checked in my CX-9 and was told I would receive a call after a full circle service inspection was performed. I received a call the next day Friday March 10th and was told the vibration I was feeling was the rear differential and that a field inspector would look at it on Monday March 13th; to assess and approve the work. Monday I received a call from Jeanette and was told the extended warranty approved the work but wanted them to use a junk yard part, WHAT!! and that they do not install junk yard parts. but if I paid for a new part they would do the work, else I can take it to any service station to do the work, and that I can pick up my vehicle. All along, every step of the way I felt all they wanted, was to hit me for more money, your car needs this and that, (not surprising from a dealership ) when I asked what I owed, she said $29.95 for the oil change, $10 less because all the while in their possession never rotated the tires, and the $149 fee for the service inspection, WAIT WHAT !! you said if the warranty approved the work you would waive the fee. Long story short, she agreed I would only be charged for the $29.95 oil change. I rushed from Brooklyn to pick up my vehicle and get it out of there, ready for the kicker, when I called the warranty company, I was told, A - they do not ever state to any service station to utilize junk yard parts and B - the claim Koppel Mazda submitted was for the rack and pinion, not the rear differential. Wow what deception and scam this dealership is perpetrating, I would encourage any one with dealings here to be VERY ATTENTIVE AND WEARY OF THEIR PRACTICES. Now I have to find a new hopefully honest Mazda Dealership to service my vehicle. read more

Got serviced yesterday on my 2014 CX5 for a 15000 mile service (oil change + tire rotation + fluid inspection) and Izzy from service dep't quoted $150 plus $30 for the synthetic oil. Earlier today, I received a phone call saying that they 'highly recommend' to change my cabin and engine filter for another $40 but this guys never mentioned the additional labor. So I came in to pick up my car, and shocked I have to pay $304! I was like, how the fuck a simple oil change ($25), tire rotation ($5 per tire) & air filters ($30) costs so fucking much? Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this service dealer. I should've taken more caution servicing my car with this greedy-ass people so stay away if you don't wanna get rip-off like I did.. read more
