Got serviced yesterday on my 2014 CX5 for a 15000 mile service (oil change + tire rotation + fluid inspection) and Izzy from service dep't quoted $150 plus $30 for the synthetic oil. Earlier today, I received a phone call saying that they 'highly recommend' to change my cabin and engine filter for another $40 but this guys never mentioned the additional labor. So I came in to pick up my car, and shocked I have to pay $304! I was like, how the fuck a simple oil change ($25), tire rotation ($5 per tire) & air filters ($30) costs so fucking much? Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this service dealer. I should've taken more caution servicing my car with this greedy-ass people so stay away if you don't wanna get rip-off like I did.. read more

My family and I have purchased/leased several (4) vehicles in the past 10 years from Koeppel Mazda and we've always had excellent experiences. We find the sales department managed by Saiful Islam to be professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Most importantly, they do not use high pressure tactics or last-minute add-ons to make the buying/leasing experience stressful, as do many other car dealerships. An unexpected bonus! A 4.5" pressure ding in my rear tailgate! As a marketing consultant I am puzzled whenever I come across a business that is engaging in self-destructive, anti-profitable behavior. This morning, I took my Mazda SUV to the local dealership to have the oil changed and to get the State inspection [right after I dropped the kids to their school] - no big deal, a 1.5 hour service & wait time. 60 minutes later the service manager calls me & suggests a replacement of the front brakes & rotor - a $390 plus tax addition to the tab. Again, no big deal, as these things need to be replaced once in a while & getting it done at the dealership vs. spending more time to get it to an independent mechanic shop to save some money is a wash for time vs. money for me. What was a big deal is that after the service was done, my car arrived back with a brand new 4.5" ding on the rear tailgate - complete with fresh whitish rubber trace impact mark on top of the salt residue from a recent snowfall. The impact ding was not there when I brought the car for service and happened while in the custody of the Koeppel Mazda dealership. My bonus for the day and a great lesson followed as to how not to conduct business if you want to foster customer loyalty, repeat business or generate customer goodwill. Sometime during the 3 hours they had the car one of the 2 or 3 dealership personnel that drove my car around their facility or to their neighboring VW dealership across the street for the State inspection witnessed or caused the 4.5" ding impact in my car. Yet, no one accepted responsibility for it. It is difficult to affix blame for this - poor management, poor training, poor personal ethics. After I made the customer service rep/service manager aware of the ding, he looked at it cursorily and stated matter of fact, it was there before I got to the dealership. Now, who knows my car better, and the circumstances before I arrived at the dealership? Yes, that's right - yours truly. So, after I realized that no one at the Koeppel Mazda dealership would accept responsibility for this 4.5" door ding, I paid my bill and left. The outcome: Koeppel Mazda has lost this customer - the lifetime value of which is a great deal more than the $200 it would have cost to fix the door ding. Koeppel Mazda has another "ding" to their reputation, although if you read other posts here on yelp.com, they are very inconsistent in terms of their service and customer satisfaction. Statistics show that for every 1 consumer that has a bad experience and complains about it there are about 9 more that don't complain. Koeppel Mazda has some serious management, quality control and customer satisfaction issues to deal with. In the age where most internet connected consumers search online for service providers and products before they make a purchase, how can such an organization like Koeppel Mazda maintain profitability and customer loyalty when they provide such sub par service? The takeaway: Koeppel Mazda - slightly more expensive than the private, independent mechanic shop - poor client experience, poor at accepting responsibility for incidents at their facility, lack of basic marketing 101 customer service. Don't go to Koeppel Mazda - find a reliable, honest, independent mechanic shop. Francisco was the salesperson helping me. At first I didn't like his approach - very laid back and matter of fact, and not at all seeming like he wanted me to buy a car. Though I prefer that to an annoying salesperson buzzing in my ear and stalking me, I did want a little attention. When it came time to complete the purchase, he did his job without going out of his way to make me feel comfortable. In the end, it was a good experience, nothing special. I did appreciate his asking for feedback, however, but I have no idea how seriously he took it. The dealership is fine. No one felt sleazy to me, but overall I would want to be treated with a little more interest, even for buying such a tiny car. read more

I brought my vehicle in for a check engine light service. It took them a full day to repair the issue and my service appointment was at 7AM so I ended up missing a day of work. One week later the engine light came back on and I found out that it was a similar issue. This time my warranty didn't cover the cost because the dealership couldn't provide enough information to say that the issue was unrelated to the first time the light came on. I was charged approx. $400 total and missed two days of work. A few days went by and my engine started shaking. The engine light did not come on at this point. I called the dealership and asked to speak with the service manager. He instructed me to bring the car back in and he would have a loaner vehicle for me. I brought the car back and after a few days past they finally figured out there was nothing wrong with the car after supposedly running several checks on the engine. Another week went by and the check engine light came on once again. I called the dealership and asked to speak with the service managers supervisor, Tony Perez. He looked through my history and stated that it is probably the same issue, a build up in carbon in the engine. I asked if I brought my car back for now the fourth time in a month if the issue would be resolved. He said that he didn't know, however, if i brought the car back I would have to pay the diagnostic fee and any other fees out of pocket. I questioned why I would have to pay all these fees and he stated that "How else are my technicians going to get paid?" He then got very rude and I stated that "How am I going to get paid for the days I continually have to take off from work to bring my car to the dealership and it still not be fixed?" He said thats not my problem and if you're not going to pay the diagnostic fee then don't bring the car here." That was the end of our conversation. I asked to speak with the general manager of the dealership and haven't received any response. read more

The people didn't even apologize for backing our car into another one. A friend recently went to this place to get an oil change, & they clearly put more water than antifreeze in the tank.. It built me up with fear in how the dealer trying to steal from you (even once in Lexus, never mention Honda with nickname of thief) Mazda Koeppel is a honest car dealer. Left my car at the crack of dawn for only an oil change, came back to pick up my car after work and it still wasn't done. Meanwhile, when I've called before making the trip down there, they told me over the phone that it would be ready when I get there. It gets better, once I get there, they told me that not only they didn't do it, but to come back and drop off the car next day. They never want to honor their coupon from their website and they are very pushy about the "recommended" services that aren't even recommended by Mazda. I stopped going to this place! read more

I bought my new Mazda 3 2010 (end of march) at the dealership. The process of buying the car was OK, but the waiting time, just to sign the papers - HORRIBLE!! Waited almost half a day! It was simply ridiculous... giving only 3 stars, max. There were a bunch of other problems, like no phone calls were returned.. etc, but this review is more on the Mazda service center. For every new car which you purchase from them, you get a free first time oil change, with the full service circle checks. As you know, you will ALWAYS have to WAIT whenever you're at the dealership, hence I was all prepared to wait (which is rather dumb because you can just pay $25 to have your oil changed in 10 min at the other bodyshops, but it's free so...) Anyway, I made an appointment for 9.00am on a tuesday morning. When I arrived, I was greeted very politely by one the mechanics. Good start! And then I entered the waiting area, and I met with the receptionists, whom were all very friendly and nice. I'm not sure if it's because it was a weekday, and it was in the morning. But I certainly felt like VIP! Waited in the waiting area for around 1.5 hrs, which I was already prepared for, because the lady whom I had scheduled the appt with the day before had already told me about the approximate waiting time. During the wait, there was this guy who kept coming in occasionally to chat with me, to see if I was comfortable, to make friendly small talk and also to update me on the status of my car, which I really appreciated very much. I think he is the supervisor or manager cause he had his own room, and I don't remember him wearing a uniform. All in all, I recommend bringing your Mazda to this service center because their service is pretty awesome. And also, the bill stated clearly which parts were checked and serviced and that is the most important thing when it comes to car "checkups". Hence, 5 stars for the service center!! I do want to bring the car there for the next servicing but before that, I'll definitely check out the approximate pricing first, because it is no secret that dealership service centers often charges sky rocket prices. Dealership....stealership. NYC potholes wrecked my front struts. I first brought it to my personal mechanic and then tried to save some $ by going to the dealership because a rep on the phone told me I was still covered by warranty. To make a long story short, they not only couldn't diagnose the problem I brought to their attention from my good mechanic, but they then asked for $150 to diagnose and then told me new struts were another 650. I took my car back to my mechanic and had the struts replaced for 250 with no hassle, no hard sell, no bs. read more

So you know, I was a willing participant, and I really wanted this car, but at the end of the journey, I got rid of the car after one year. I wouldn't return there. Nope. This place is horrible!! We spent almost a month trying to buy a vehicle from them. They said that they had our vehicle in and then proceeded to sell it to someone else not once, but TWICE! They then offered to use their sourcing department to locate the vehicle in inventory somewhere else. Apparently Mazda has an antiquated inventory system that doesn't allow dealerships to actually communicate with one another. We went more than a week before we heard from our sales person (Castro) and the e-mail we sent to the sales manager went unanswered. Don't expect much by going here. read more

Took my Mazda Tribute into Koeppel Mazda to diagnose/fix a check-engine light issue. It took them three days to diagnose the issue, but the assistant manager was very confident they could fix my car for around $400. When the repairs were done I picked up my car, and within 24 hours the check-engine light came back on for the same issue. So I had to bring it back. They took six days to return my car, with repeated phone calls on my part and none in return. The last day the assistant manager finally called me to tell me the that within that 24 hour period I had my car, I had caused the original problem he supposedly fixed to come back and another problem. He quoted me a price of $1400 for two parts, one of which cost only $50 online but he was charging me $1000. The guy refused to accept blame. I spoke with two other Mazda shops who went over the diagnostics and the repairs suggested by the assistant manager, and they disagreed 100% with his assessment. I'm not sure where he came to these figures, but if two other Mazda affiliated shops are saying you're wrong... Do not use this shop, they are horrible. read more

We just left Koeppel earlier this evening. I had a "deal" made with another dealership that I wasn't too happy with. My wife decided she wanted a backup camera as the only option on her car. The first dealer claimed it would be over 15/month for that option. I called Saiful at Koeppel and asked him to match or beat a competitors deal, with the camera as an option. Better yet, Koeppel BEAT the other guys offer on the monthly payment, and had me putting down less money out of pocket. All that, and the car had a camera in it. When I spoke to Saiful, I told him if he can make the deal I would take delivery tonight. He called me back in 5 minutes and told me he could do the deal that I wanted. He had Francisco Javier Rodriguez contact me about the insurance for the new car. That was hassle free, and I had Geico e-mail the cards and binder directly to him. Being it is the last day of the month, the dealer was busy with other deals when we got there. Francisco greeted us outside and showed the car all prepped and ready for us. We went over some features of the car, and a little over an hour later our paperwork was ready for processing. Earlier, Saiful had showed me that our deal was still in pending status on his computer, awaiting bank approval. Once that was done we were brought to the finance guy, Jimmy. In and out in 5 minutes. What I was quoted by Saiful is exact what I ended up paying. Not a penny more. The process from initial phone call to driving away took just under TWO HOURS. I got the deal I wanted, sent over a credit app by email, got the exact car I wanted, and didn't pay a penny more than what I was quoted over the phone. Overall a great experience and probably one of the fastest deals I've done. Saiful and Francisco were great, didn't hide anything from us, and got the sale done quick. Great experience and I will definitely be going back for another car for myself soon! read more

Koeppel Mazda was amazing I brought a Mazda three not too long ago and some wonderful individual smashed the mirror off. Koeppel did an excellent job of getting my mirror back on at a reasonable price and they also inspected the brakes, wipers, battery..etc just to make sure everything was up to code. But the icing on the cake was when they fixed the dome light that mysteriously came unhinged at no additional charge! It was not an easy task and it took the mechanics some effort to fix that dome light but they did it and now my car looks great again. I will totally go back to Koeppel Mazda the staff was friendly. First time car buyer who has been researching compact SUVs for over a year. Finally decided to get behind the wheel and see how the Cx-5 drove. I pretty much new exactly what I wanted so I didn't need a lot of swaying. Scheduled the test drive and asked for some numbers immediately afterwards. The process of test driving, going over the financial, setting up insurance down to signing the final paperwork was all so seamless. Process took about 4 hours however was treated great the entire time. No haggling or uncomfortable BS that I was used to watching my father deal with when I was a kid. After having just about the worst time ever with Giuffre Mazda in Bay Ridge (see my review here: http://tinyurl.com/747j892), we called up Koeppel to see if they had the car we were looking for. Not only did they have it, but we were able to drive off in it within hours. The staff was super helpful, and even took the time to sit with us in the car and go through all of the features, as well as set up the GPS and Bluetooth. Koeppel is awesome. I sadly bought my 2015 Mazda 3 at Manchester Mazda in CT. They SUCK. (See my Yelp review). Clearly don't want to go back there and deal with them for service (bad blood between us now and they are so far away), so when there was a recall on a fuel tank part for my car, I brought it in Koeppel instead, worried that because I didn't buy it at Koeppel they maybe wouldn't treat me like a good customer. Wrong. They were great on the phone, great when I dropped it off and basically every step of the way exceeded my expectations. I dropped it on Thursday 2/11, was supposed to get it back Tuesday 2/16. They called me on Monday 2/15 to let me know the part they needed to order would not be arriving till Friday so it would take an extra three days but right away offered me a loaner car free of charge should I need one. I didn't think I would as long as it would be ready first thing Friday morning. I showed up that Friday morning to pick it up and it was still about an hour from being ready. I panicked a bit because I had to be somewhere. They were like, "let's get you a loaner right now so you're not late." And within five minutes a clean, modern (maybe 2014?) Mazda 3 hatchback was pulled up and ready for me to drive away in. I was on time for where I was going and they made it simple. I came back after work on Monday to drop off their car and pick up mine. They had fixed not only the fuel tank issue, but had spotted a software update that needed to be done and had taken care of it, plus did a comprehensive like 30 point inspection of everything - tires, brakes, etc. On top of all that, they gave me a coupon for a free car wash which was very helpful and I noticed they have fresh coffee and donuts in their service area. I desperately wanted one, but since I'm watching my weight I could only admire them from afar. But these folks are great. I am kicking myself for not having bought my car there instead of Manchester Mazda (if you live in or near Hartford, stay far far away and make the 2 hour drive to Koeppel instead, so worth it). I am going to continue bringing my car in to Koeppel for any service it needs and if it keeps going as well as this last experience did, when my lease comes up in 2 years, I will be getting my next Mazda there. Sketchy! Sat down with Francisco 9/15 knew what I wanted. They didn't have color I was asking for. Was okay but let me.see car first....see what other options I have. Asked me for all relevant credit info. Comes back and tells me...I am approved....I ask.for my credit terms and he say I.HAVE TO.GIVE 500 dollar deposit!!! WTF??!! I havent EVEN SEEN the car yet.....I left....They did a hard inquiry on my credit report 3 weeks later I call to find out what has been done eith my application since they did pull ip my report and again he said I have to give 500 deposit just to find out what my terms would be!!! If I could give this dealer no star I would. I spoke to 2 salespeople over the phone whom gave me what I thought was a ok deal. I get to the dealer and they don't know who the salesperson is and that those salespeople had no authorization to give prices. They give me another salesperson( inexperienced) who now brings over an arrogant manager trying to take me for a ride with only deducting $400 off the msrp and tagging on crazy fees!! So I went there for nothing. They give you prices 9ver the phone just to get you there. Few days go by and another salesperson calls me. I told them I will not do business with them. She asked why, I gave her details. A manager called me a day or 2 later. Apologizing and trying to make things right. She told me she would help me to give her a few that she would get back to me. What's a few? I don't know. It's been 4 or 5 days. I haven't heard from her. In her defense, the car is hard to find. I'll give her some time. Keep you updated soon. read more

Made an appointment 3 days in advance to change oil and have tires rotated. You would think this is 30 min job. Noooo it has been four hours and they didn't even started on working on my car yet. My local mechanic would have done it in 20 min. And on top of this everyone is acting like they doing you a favor by servicing your car... Customer service another story, not even a smile just acting busy but in a slow motion if you know what I mean. No more Mazda for me.
