Ordered the chicken katsu. They'd didn't even fry it. They just microwave it. Buyer beware.

The service was fine, but the food tasted what I would imagine dog food would taste like.

I ended…read moreup having some of the best sushi I've had in the U.S. I ordered the yellowtail lover which had spicy crabmeat, spicy yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, and jalapeño. I devoured it so quickly, it was amazing. I will 100% stop here again. The miso soup and edamame were included and were also delicious. The young girl working also gave me an orange slice which I think was just her being friendly. She and the older couple making the food were so friendly and kind. Service was impeccable, food was delicious, and ambience was very calm and clean. This is a wonderful place to stop if you're craving sushi and living in the area. I hope it was just a slow night when I was there, because they deserve a lot of customers!

Such a cute little spot! We only planned to stop in for a quick lunch and a small bite, but…read more.. yeah, that plan did not stick. The place was super welcoming, and you can tell right away the fish is fresh. They started us off with miso soup and edamame on the house, which was such a nice touch. We ordered the Super Dragon Roll and the Spider Roll--both were great. We also tried the Super Crunch, which was just okay compared to the rainbow Roll. The real surprise though? The green mussels. Absolutely divine. To top it all off, they brought us peeled orange slices at the end, and it was the perfect, refreshing finish to the meal. Came in for a quick lunch, left very full and very happy. Will definitely be back if we are ever in Seattle again.

HOWEVER, my wife has a shellfish allergy and the waitress forgot to ask if anyone at the table had allergies as did the chef, to be fair to them this is the first time that has happened to me there. CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS after the fact, i checked my account a bit after going and what should have been a roughly $250 (with tip) bill ended up being $454.93 on my statement. I am not sure if the party of 5 and our bill got swapped or what happened. EDIT: Called them and they immediately credited back the money with no hassle. Changing to 4 star. (-1 point for the allergy thing).

We were there to celebrate a Birthday I…read morespoke to the manager about the birthday and he so called set up the Happy Birthday celebration. Unfortunately like almost every thing else fell apart and it never happened. The soup was served warm and didn't have taste very good cold. I sent it back and when we had hot it tasted great. The hot soup and fried rice was the best part of the meal. The cook's skills was way below average. I'm basing that on the many Japanese steakhouse I've been to. The cook dropped a piece of steak on the table on almost every person he served. He was very good with the salt shaker which explains why my Chicken and the vegetables were overly salted. I had to remind my server to bring us water a couple of times.

5 out of 5 AYCE for sure! First time visiting Sumo Sushi & Grill last weekend with my family and we…read morehad such a great experience! (FYI, for weekends and holidays, you'll be charged the dinner price all day). Since it was our first time, our server kindly explained how the ordering system works. You place your sushi orders through one phone with a limit of 15 items every 15 minutes. Drinks and refills are recommended to be ordered directly through your server so they don't take up item slots. Even if you order less than 15 items, you still wait the 15 minutes before placing another round. It sounds a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple! One of the cutest parts of the experience was having our food delivered by a little robot server with a cat face. Just make sure to grab the food from the section glowing blue so you don't accidentally take another table's order. Super fun and honestly memorable! By the time we were getting full, my family joked that the cat face looked menacing, because we were hoping no more food would be brought to our table lol. The orders don't all arrive at the same time and some can be delayed, so I'd suggest somewhat trying to keep track of your orders if you don't want to go overboard. The sashimi was delicious and the portions are HUGE, so definitely pace yourself because they do charge for leftovers. My son got a little too excited and overordered, so we ended up paying the leftover fee. However, I was genuinely impressed that Sumo Sushi actually allows you to take leftovers home, even with the fee included. I mean, you'll have to pay the fee either way, but I've never been to an AYCE sushi restaurant that allowed leftovers as takeout before. I really respect how serious they are about reducing food waste. They also have a small buffet section you can grab already prepared/cooked food from while waiting for your sushi orders. My absolute favorites were the miso soup, seafood boil(?), and the tempura fish that lives rent free in my head (I should have asked if I could order that fish for takeout!). They also had other hot foods, meats, and seafood options that were tasty. The dessert section was more basic (flan, jello, fortune cookies, etc.), so I skipped dessert this time (besides the fortune cookies hehe). The service, in general, was fantastic. While we were dining, a child nearby celebrated a birthday with their family and the staff went ALL OUT singing happy birthday with light-up decorations and so much energy. It was adorable and way more effort than most restaurants put in. My only small critique is that the "French Fries" listed on the menu are actually sweet potato fries. They tasted good, and I normally like sweet potatoes, but it definitely caught us off guard because it wasn't what we expected. When we left, the staff kindly said goodbye to us, including an older gentleman near the door who consistently seemed focused on customer service and even asked if we wanted condiments packed with our leftovers. We had such a lovely experience and I would consider Sumo Sushi as probably one of the better AYCE sushi spots in the area. We'll definitely be back!

It was Father's Day, so of course it was busy. But the food was subpar, it came out in indefinable intervals, and we weren't really checked on at all. The sushi - when it finally showed up - was good, but the grilled beef was fatty and greasy. The Chicken 'Katsu' was soggy. Some items - despite taking what seemed like forever to arrive - felt and tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Horrible experience for $100. We won't be back.

She never greets me, never smiles, and always has a rude attitude. The last time I ordered, I simply started placing my order, and she yelled at me, "You need to wait until I ask you!" I was shocked. There was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer that way. When my food was ready, she practically threw it down in front of me without saying a single word. She was visibly annoyed and made it clear she didn't want to serve me. What made it even worse was watching her completely change her attitude toward the white man sitting at the next table. She smiled fawningly, spoke softly, and treated him like he was royalty. The difference in how she treated me, an Asian customer, compared to him was disgusting and impossible to ignore. I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. I won't be coming back for sure.
