Crab tempura roll
Charlsie G.

We tried Koji sushi on a whim, and it was a great experience. It's a quaint little restaurant. I love that you can see and watch them prepare the sushi. It's made fresh when you order. The salad dressing on the complimentary salad was so refreshing. We ordered two bento boxes and the crab tempura roll. Highly recommend the chicken katso bento box. You definitely get what you pay for. So filling. So yummy! The service was helpful and so friendly.

Stopped in for the first time. The staff was friendly and did a nice job. The food was excellent. The restaurant could use a little updating, but not bad. I will definitely be back again.

The seafood was very very fresh in all the dishes we had. The saucing could have been a tad less as it overpowered the great seafood that was used in every dish Service by Elvin was pleasant , courteous and friendly Ambience was clean and inviting Everting was great maybe the choice of sake / soju is increased . We will come back

Veggie roll

Vegan notes included!! Super location in McKinney for a group to share sushi! Staff reserved a table for our large group, and still split the bill. How considerate! There is a vegan roll on the menu labeled veggie roll. It has carrot, avo, and cucumer. Light and delicious. Highly recommend! Also, the sweet potato veggie tempura is delicious. It comes with 'eel' sauce that is not made from eels haha but from corn syrup. The edamame (both regular and spicy) are great!! Just a great spot all around.

Salmon Tuna Heaven was delicious!!

Hidden away in the heart of Downtown McKinney Texas, this cozy sushi spot is a gem worth trying! The place is tiny but charming, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel welcomed. The staff is as attentive, ensuring your water glass never goes empty and your sushi cravings are fully satisfied. This place offers--rolls, rolls, and more rolls plus blackboard specials! If you're indecisive, be prepared to be deliciously overwhelmed. The fish is fresh, the sauces are flavorful, and even the miso soup deserves its own round of applause. Bonus: Every meal comes with a complimentary salad topped with ginger dressing. Nice! Now, the not-so-fun part: parking. The parking is very limited and I didn't spot a single handicap parking space within a block, so bring your comfy shoes and maybe a friend who knows how to parallel park lol. But once you're seated inside and that first bite of sushi hits your taste buds, all is forgiven. This place is well worth the minor parking nightmare!

Cozy sushi place, good service and nice inside. Parking is limited, you have to park further away and walk or wait for someone to come out. The sushi was ok. For my taste the salmon was dry and the octopus was hard to swallow. Ramen was very good. I will return to try different type of sushi and other dishes.

Great food and even better service! As soon as I was seated, they brought out a complimentary salad -- a really nice touch. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is truly authentic Japanese cuisine. You can tell it's run by people who know their culture and flavors. Prices are very reasonable too. A must-visit spot if you're craving quality sushi and real Japanese food!

Fresh sushi & great customer service! I would recommend parking in the free parking garage instead of the parking lot. The parking lot is super limited, right and there's a dead end. The uni is extremely fresh, better than any other places I've been to. We ordered the Salmon Heaven & Eel special and it was so delicious that I didn't even have to dip in soy sauce. I would come back and try the rest of the menu

Great place, food, and service. A must try. Parking can be hectic depending on the time of day. Nice place for a date, or with the family.

I receive exceptional service every time I go to Koji! It's in a great spot in downtown Mckinney, easily the best sushi you can get in the area, and each time I enter it's akin to being transported to a whole new world-- thats how nicely made up the interior is! Their quality of fish is phenomenal, and on occasion I have been given complimentary Cutie rolls with my appetizers. I look forward to trying more on their menu, such as tempura cheesecake, various flavors of deep fried ice cream, & an array of mochi. Nothing ever fails me when I go.

Ask the Community - Koji Sushi

How crowded is it on Sunday's?

Not very. Also you spelled it wrong.

Does this place offer AYCE?

Try and see.

Are they able to accommodate gluten intolerance/Celiac?

Koji has several rolls made without rice. Just let the server know and they can help select options. Tuna Tataki, Cutie Roll, Butterfly Kiss and French Kiss are a few of my favorites

I'm curious if you have any vegan friendly options or options that can be altered to be made vegan? Vegan = NO animal products... No milk, no butter, no meat, no cheese, no egg, no animal stock, no fish sauce, etc. THANK YOU! :)

I have been there many times with my vegan friend and they have been extremely accommodating. They explained what was in everything in great detail and offered to make custom plates.

Do you have vegan options available?

No why would they.

OK, this was such a random stop but when I tell you, it will not be one of my favorite spots I mean…read moreit.... I picked the booth in the back. It was perfect for me. Five people could've easily sent here, but I want the hopeful to myself. I could see the whole restaurant from sitting right where I am and it feels perfect. I just stopped in for a quick bite to eat, hoping to get some fried rice and I came in and found my favorite thing on the menu... bang bang shrimp... and there is such a backstory for me and bang bang shrimp but just numb last night my family chose to go to Olive Garden instead of going to bonefish Grill. I really want a bang bang shrimp and today guess what I ordered??? you got it bang bang shrimp!!! and it came out first before the other entrée which was veggie fried rice. My bill is about $27 and that's fine because I'm the main character of the story and every grain of rice was worth it. Perfect place for a self-care day that I stumbled across. Oh and let me not forget my server, Ajah. She was so adorable and so kind. I just wanted to take her home and put her in my pocket and pull her out anytime I need to pick me up or Bestie to talk to. The food was beyond delicious and the service was beyond great 10 out of 10, but definitely come back again!!!

It wasn't very hot, but it was very good in flavor. Unfortunately my very first bite. I splashed chili paste on my light blue dress shirt but luckily Jenny the server is kind enough to bring me some soda water to block out the stain. It's a fairly spacious restaurant and it's clean. They have a bar with limited drinks and fair prices. I'll definitely come back.

The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. The menu offered a great variety with plenty of options, and I really appreciated that items were clearly marked to indicate whether they contained raw fish. That's a thoughtful touch that makes the menu more approachable for guests who may be new to sushi or prefer cooked options. Presentation-wise, the rolls looked fantastic and were plated beautifully. The flavors were good as well. However, the one thing that held the experience back for me was the portion size of the rolls. Some of them were extremely large--my Rock & Roll was so big that fitting a single piece comfortably in my mouth was a challenge. Sushi is traditionally meant to be eaten in one bite to enjoy the balance of rice, fish, and fillings. When the pieces get too large, it can throw off that balance and make the eating experience a bit messy. I also found the eel sauce to be unusually thick--almost molasses-like--which didn't quite have the smooth, glossy texture I typically enjoy. Overall, it's still a solid spot worth trying, especially if you enjoy larger rolls and generous portions. For me personally, the size of the rolls disrupted the balance I look for in sushi, so it may not become my regular spot--but others may really enjoy it.
