We had an excellent time at Koji sushi. I used the spin the wheel and Yelp recommended a place to try, Koji Sushi. For a Saturday the place was filled with patrons which is always a good sign. Parking was a little crap but there's not much we can do about that. Its located inside a small strip mall of businesses. There is ample parking across the street but that does require walking is almost 100 degree heat. We were seated right away.

For our table we ordered the sashimi bento box which came with fresh slices of salmon, tuna and white fish. The portions were extremely generous as they also included salad, miso soup, tempura with veggies, and a double order of...

I always get the cutie roll which is a cucumber roll. But I also love their lobster volcano roll, fried jalapeños, & gyoza. Highly recommend!

I like to get the Tuna Salmon Heaven roll and the Koji Fire roll. Also, can't go wrong with a Butterfly Kiss and Spider roll. The food is ready quick and they pack it up, nicely with everything I need. Can't wait to try dine-in one day!

I don't love all of their rolls, but my favorite is the Koji Fire roll and my husband usually gets the volcano roll which is HUGE but also good if you like baked sushi rolls. Have always had a good experience service wise here!

The seafood was very very fresh in all the dishes we had. The saucing could have been a tad less as it overpowered the great seafood that was used in every dish Service by Elvin was pleasant , courteous and friendly Ambience was clean and inviting Everting was great maybe the choice of sake / soju is increased . Vegan notes included!! Super location in McKinney for a group to share sushi! Staff reserved a table for our large group, and still split the bill. How considerate! There is a vegan roll on the menu labeled veggie roll. It has carrot, avo, and cucumer. Light and delicious. Highly recommend! Also, the sweet potato veggie tempura is delicious. It comes with 'eel' sauce that is not made from eels haha but from corn syrup. The edamame (both regular and spicy) are great!! Just a great spot all around.

Hidden away in the heart of Downtown McKinney Texas, this cozy sushi spot is a gem worth trying! The place is tiny but charming, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel welcomed. The staff is as attentive, ensuring your water glass never goes empty and your sushi cravings are fully satisfied. This place offers--rolls, rolls, and more rolls plus blackboard specials! If you're indecisive, be prepared to be deliciously overwhelmed. The fish is fresh, the sauces are flavorful, and even the miso soup deserves its own round of applause. Bonus: Every meal comes with a complimentary salad topped with ginger dressing. Nice! Now, the not-so-fun part: parking. The parking is very limited and I didn't spot a single handicap parking space within a block, so bring your comfy shoes and maybe a friend who knows how to parallel park lol. But once you're seated inside and that first bite of sushi hits your taste buds, all is forgiven. This place is well worth the minor parking nightmare!

Cozy sushi place, good service and nice inside. Parking is limited, you have to park further away and walk or wait for someone to come out. The sushi was ok. For my taste the salmon was dry and the octopus was hard to swallow. Ramen was very good. I will return to try different type of sushi and other dishes.

Great food and even better service! As soon as I was seated, they brought out a complimentary salad -- a really nice touch. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is truly authentic Japanese cuisine. You can tell it's run by people who know their culture and flavors. Prices are very reasonable too. A must-visit spot if you're craving quality sushi and real Japanese food!

Fresh sushi & great customer service! I would recommend parking in the free parking garage instead of the parking lot. The parking lot is super limited, right and there's a dead end. The uni is extremely fresh, better than any other places I've been to. We ordered the Salmon Heaven & Eel special and it was so delicious that I didn't even have to dip in soy sauce. I would come back and try the rest of the menu

I receive exceptional service every time I go to Koji! It's in a great spot in downtown Mckinney, easily the best sushi you can get in the area, and each time I enter it's akin to being transported to a whole new world-- thats how nicely made up the interior is! Their quality of fish is phenomenal, and on occasion I have been given complimentary Cutie rolls with my appetizers. I look forward to trying more on their menu, such as tempura cheesecake, various flavors of deep fried ice cream, & an array of mochi. Nothing ever fails me when I go.

We decided to try a new sushi place in McKinney Tx. So glad we went there for dinner on a Friday night. The place was busy. Parking is crazy as it's small and lack of spaces. The food and services were great! The staffs were friendly and there isn't a particular one assigned our table which is great. Sushi items came out first while we were told kitchen item takes much longer. My 8 years old niece had to wait awhile for her shrimps fried rice. She was hangry for such a long wait. This place is legit! From the kind staff to the cleanliness all the way to the food, it was excellent. Very unassuming storefront in McKinney downtown. Walk in to be greeted by pretty much the entire staff. Sat at the sushi bar and ordered. Within 3 minutes my food was in front of me. This place is a must hit for any sushi fanatic in the area. I got the geisha and the samurai. The geisha was a meal in itself and plated to perfection. I wanted to take a pic but it was gone before I even thought of a picture. I will be back. read more

There is a HUGE roll selection here, which almost makes it impossible to pick something. I was staring at the menu for a while and couldn't quite find anything that drew my attention because there were just so many of them. The server seemed like he might have been new and didn't have any good recommendations for me. Thankfully, the owner(?) stopped by to ask me what I liked and recommended me a couple rolls. Salad - I love ginger dressing so I loved the salad. Yum. "Heart Attack" - basically jalapeño poppers. They were pretty standard and yummy. A good appetizer to start with. "Butterfly Kiss" - this one was the roll the owner recommended. It was absolutely delicious! I am not a huge fan of creamy, heavy rolls, so this light roll with no rice was perfect for me. "Fantastic" and "Love" - we ordered these from the $10 dinner roll menu. Both were deep fried, and honestly kind of tasted the same? All I could taste was the deep fried batter on the outside and some cream cheese. Seems like something you would eat at a county fair lol personally do not recommend. Salmon Teriyaki Box - typical salmon teriyaki served with steamed rice, salad, and tempura. Nothing unique but good and filling! Overall, I think I would want to return to try some of the other rolls (that are not deep fried) on the menu. If you're indecisive like me... try to look at the menu and photos on yelp beforehand! read more

Amazing service! I am not in this area much but am very happy to have come across this place. The server was very kind and attentive. So many options to choose from on the menu, even some veggie options. They served us a complimentary salad before our rolls came out which was a pleasant surprise. The rolls came out perfect and the chef even prepared an extra cucumber roll (single piece) for every guest in the restaurant! So nice. I tried the veggie tempura roll just to Give it a try and the rolls were so huge but still delicious! I would absolutely come back off in the area! read more

The food is absolutely fantastic. The service on the kitchen side is awful. My gf ordered 2 rolls and I ordered a bento box for eat in dinner. She got her rolls and 20'minutes went by and I still hadn't received my meal. I asked the second waitress that we had gotten to check and she said it would be 4 more minutes for the "tempura vegetables". It seemed very clear the first waitress either forgot to put in my meal or another issue had arisen. Again, food is fantastic but maybe some more communication between the sushi chefs in the front of the restaurant and the ones in the back. read more

I'm giving 4 because the food was good. The service was weak but in their defense it looked like they got unexpectedly slammed by a large group. I had an issue with the guy who brought my Ahi tower. He started mashing it up before asking me if I wanted that. I don't like it mashed up. But, he quickly ran and made another one. I'll give them another try since Sushi Axiom closed and they are now the closest to us. read more

You can bet you won't eat here twice! Once is all you will eat here, even if the food is rotten and you point it out to them, they won't refund your money or offer you something else. We have eaten there are last time. Slimy salmon, served way too warm. Gross read more

Koji sushi is FABULOUS!!!!!! The appetizers were so good i forgot to take a picture. My favorite ones are soft shell crab & avocado bomb. If you like spicy food I also recommend you trying heart attack. The sushi tastes fresh, looks beautiful and delicious, and service was great. Great place to go on a date or with friends! Had been a good place to eat.... Will never eat here again. Unfortunately tonight the fried shrimp was super undercooked and still frozen and grey under the hot batter. I just wanted them to see so they would know. Sorry but tonight not a winner. I was never going to even ask for a refund - I paid my full bill no problem- regardless of being insulted by the cook for showing her they grey inside. I asking her to feel the frozen shrimp- she refused. Will not come back for the customer service #1, and the raw fried shrimp #2. read more
