Everything on the menu is phenomenal (yes, I've tried it all). I visit this place frequently, at least once a week. Great bbq pork with a wonderful crusty bark on the outside and tender, juicy pork on the inside. Chop it all together and it's a perfect mixture. The sausage was very tasty with a little spiciness that I like. I had the Carolina sauce which more mustard based than vinegar, reminded me of my favorite joint in Mississippi. My sides of bbq beans and potato salad filled in all the empty spaces. I was stuffed. Servings are more than enough for a big hungry man like me. The owner was friendly and helpful. This is actually 5.5 stars because yes it is that good. Being from Kansas City we have strong opinions about our barbecue. We had the 3 meat combo with ribs, sausage, and pork. Konan's mustard sauce had me sopping it up with the bread. And to accompany that golden goodness was some juicy, perfectly smoked meat. The smoke flavor was absolutely perfect with the sauce. The meat, smoke and the sauce could not have been a better marriage. Based on the recommendations we had the Mac and cheese. It is gooey yummy homemade goodness. The baked beans were also very good. Rough neighborhood, ok barbecue. Food was good... hour wait for it was bad. The sweet tea (served out of 5 gallon Home Depot bucket) made my teeth hurt. Environment was terrible. Literally a neighborhood hole in the wall occupying one end of a bombed out mini strip mall. Maybe there used to be a market at the other end and a barber shop in the middle? Graffiti all over the facade. This place was so ghetto a Hollywood director wouldn't use it in a movie for fear of seeming unrealistic. Cars just piled on top of each other in a dirt parking lot and neighborhood folk just sitting around everywhere, inside and out, just hanging around. I work in the area and stopped by today for the 2nd time. I'm happy to see they expanded their eating space w/ several tables. I was in a pissy mood after a frustrating experience at my nearby car dealership. I was late back to work. There were two guys behind the counter. They were so friendly and efficient. The one who put together my order was funny and welcoming. At his insistence, I tried the secret tea blend. OMG- amazing! I don't like sweet but this was fruity and refreshing. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood so don't be confused if it takes you done the residential area.The first time I went in, they ran out of ribs but were very sorry and gave us extra thin ends and and free pineapple sweet tea to make up for it.
