Super friendly staff. Was it worth checking out? Sure, to get my curiosity out of the way. Would I go back? Hmm... probably not. Nothing really stood out for me to return. It's a very expensive snack. Here's what I ordered: 3 corn dogs around $16 including tax (I have no problem paying $4 - $5.50 if it's worth the value. However, I don't think this is the case.) -holy cow classic with 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 cheddar with sugar ($4). While it was crunchy, I thought the mozzarella cheese was too bitter for the last bite. -fried potato with 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 sausage ($5.50) : my dining mate said the batter was good but the sausage was too salty. And of course... the inside mouth got scratched all over :) -fruity pop with hot dog ($4.50): definitely a kid's favorite. Didn't complain much. Now... it's definitely a snack... I wish there was more cheese filling inside, or prices lower by a $1. I wish you luck, Eggsum! read more

Holy cow -- something the line for this new korean hot dog place made me say as soon as we pulled up to it lol... idk if it was some tiktok or ad that made this place blow up so fast but be prepared for a 1.5 hr wait time from line to hot dog in hand on the weekends We tried a few: - sweet potato w/ half mozzarella half hotdog: comparable to a water bottle in size, pretty filling, and a bit too sweet for my taste. I wish they had the original potato when we got there.. it was sold out by 11am that day. - classic/plain w/ half mozzarella half hotdog: much smaller in size than the potato ones (because there's nothing on it, it's just plain dough). You can probably eat 2 in one sitting to get a meal out of it. Can't go wrong with this one. - spaghetti w/ hotdog: eh, not really any different than the classic with a side of marinara. I could skip, unless you really like marinara I guess. Sauces: - sweet chili: literally just egg roll sauce - ranch - honey mustard I'm genuinely happy that we finally have a Korean hot dog place in suburbs, but is this the best one I've ever tried? No. Is it worth another 1.5 hr wait? No. Is it fair pricing? Not really. They're usually $2.50-$3.50 at other chains. But will I come back? Yeah probably, if the line dies down after some time! :) This location/building itself has been renovated and rebought several times (multiple different cafes). Hopefully Holycow is here to stay -- I also hope other competitors can come to the area so the prices go down hahah. Plenty of seating inside, napkins and utensils are also available if you need them. read more

Finally got to go here after a month! Originally was suppose to go a month ago but I remember the line being around the plaza and was like "NOPE". Luckily, when I got there today, the line wasn't that bad (Sunday 12:30PM). It was until 1pm-ish that a swarm of people came in..... probably circled around the area inside. About the food, I did get 1 flamin hot, 1 original (not pictured), 1 sweet potato (not pictured) and 1 fried potato. All were 1/2 and 1/2 cheese and sausage. When I got my order, it took maybe 10 mins to wait for it. It wasn't piping hot. More lukewarm if any. I ate the fried potato one and it was ok. Nothing spectacular. I love spice so i had to try the flamin hot afterwards. And I gotta tell you that is definitely worth getting! It's not spicy. It's more sweet and tangy if any. Think of Mayo and Sriracha mixed together with flamin hot Cheeto dust on top. Overall, it was def hyped on social media. I would def go again for the flamin hot if it wasn't as busy. Maybe not my go to if there's a line outside or a really long line inside. I love to cook too so I think this is def something you can recreate and probably make an even better corn dog! Line pretty much circled the building, but it was expected since it was all over tiktok that this place had just opened. We got the Fruity pop, Flamin Cheetah, Spaghetti Stix, and the Messy Kinako. The fruity pop was as weird as it sounds but not too crazy. You don't really taste the fruity pebbles as much. Everything else was really good. I think my favorite was the kinako because I didn't know what to expect. It was kind of sweet but also savory. We also got the sunrise(?) drink? It was blue and the strawberry ade. Would come again when it gets less busy. read more

Finally! I have been waiting to try out this spot. I love the different options you can choose and the fillings as well. The hot cheetos with half beef and half mozzarella was good but not too much of a kick. It was a little more on the sweet side. The potato one I got with all mozzarella and it was okay. It was kind of heavy when I picked it up. Of course, I had to get the original as well. I'll have to try out the other options when I'm in the area again. read more

My kids loooooooove this place! We went this afternoon, it was very busy We got the classic and the cheetah and some other varieties that all my kids adored! It's such a fun and delicious food. Everything was fresh and hot made to order. Prices are reasonable and the decor is very modern and cool. Fun Korean pop videos playing on the big screen. We will definitely come back! read more

Oh my gosh, I was so excited Korean corn dogs are becoming a thing in Chicago. I had to check this place out even though it's a bit of a drive from the city. First time I came here there was a long line that went out through the door, but I probably waited a max of 30 minutes. It definitely went by fast. When you order you can choose what toppings you want on it (my personal fave is the flaming cheetah) or just have it plain. Then you get to customize what you want inside (full dog, full cheese, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). I think any way you customize your dog you won't be disappointed. The corndog has the perfect amount of crunchiness and batter (not too bready). Service goes by quickly and there is plenty of seats in the dining area. Come here for some great Korean corndogs, you won't regret it! read more

Going out to dinner with another couple, we thought it'd be a fun place to try after reading a review. It was... a bit of a mess. The line was long, they messed up our order, and the food was... just OK. It's an especially poorly run establishment. Overall, the food was an interesting mix of flavors, but we ended up getting flavored mozzarella sticks rather than hot dogs. We'd ordered one of each of the eight varieties, to cut up and share among the four of us. We'd ordered them all to be "sausage-filled" (i.e. hot dogs), but six of them came out filled with moz cheese instead. There might have been a minor language problem? The Flaming Cheetah was the consensus favorite, with sausage filling. It was a unique experience, but we won't be going back. read more

***3.5 stars*** I didn't expect to like Korean hotdogs/corndogs but they're pretty dece. We've had Eggsum twice so far and both times it was busy. I tried to place a pick up order but was told that they've had lines out the door on a daily basis so you can only order in person. I've tried the holy cow classic and flaming cheetah (flaming Cheeto crumbs in spicy mayo sauce). I've also had a bite of hubby's fried potato and yam-yam (sweet potato) which were both dipped in sugar (optional). I prefer the holy cow classic (half beef/half mozzarella) out of all the ones I tried so far. We've received the wrong number and incorrectly made hotdogs (i.e. wrong cheese). Since they're a newer establishment and have been busy I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Overall: It doesn't match the hype it's given. The food looks super delicious but the taste was just decent. It's not worth standing in that long line. Food: I got two potato corn dogs (one with the hotdog and one with just cheese) and two signature flaming cheetahs (one with the hotdog and one with just cheese). The outside shell is crispy and the inside is cooked well. The potato sizes on the corn dogs made it really hard to get everything in one bite. The flaming cheetah wasn't actually spicy. It leans more towards the sweet side. It has spicy Mayo and the flaming hot Cheetos flakes but it didn't have the taste of flaming hot Cheetos. I was kind of disappointed with this one. Ambience: The line was a 1.5 hour wait. They ran out by 6:30pm and they close at 8pm. There are tables to sit and eat but the line starts to come in between the tables. read more

This place is such a trip! And such a fun place to go to with friends. I have gone twice and had such a unique experience each time. Eggsum Holycow is pretty popular from TikTok, so when I first visited in September, we had about a half hour wait. The wait wasn't too bad and they got through the line pretty quickly. Don't let that stop you! The second time I went, it was on a week night in November and not too busy. During my first visit to Eggsum Holycow, I was with three other people, so we divided and conquered the types of corn dogs. We had a mix of flavors, with half-mozzarella and half-sausage vs. all sausage vs. half-cheddar, half-mozzarella. You've got quite a lot of choices going into your order so some research before your visit can be helpful. On my second visit, I stayed true to my favorites - the Flaming Cheetah, made with hot Cheetos and the Fruity Pop, made with Fruity Pebbles. For each corn dog, I got half-mozzarella and half-sausage. I definitely recommend getting sugar sprinkled on top if the cashier asks you, it adds to the flavor! Both corn dogs were incredible! The Flaming Cheetah was spicy and tangy but not overwhelming to the point where I couldn't finished it. To satisfy my sweet tooth, the Fruity Pop was a great choice to complete my visit. The sweetness from the sugar and fruity pebbles, along with the saltiness from the sausage and creaminess of the cheese create an amazing combination! Any of their lemonades are a great option too. If you're in the area or are in the mood for something new, definitely give Eggsum Holycow a try! read more

Ok, I'm in between for this review. The food was great. Tried the fried potato, yam-yam, flaming cheetah, spaghetti stix, and they were all delicious! Customer service was not the best. I called to order before hand because I was in a rush. I thought by doing so I would avoid the long wait. It honestly made no difference (if you called ahead or not). As soon as you arrive you have to get in-line, order your food, pay, and THEN they begin your order. I wish I was told this small detail. It would've saved me the drive and time. read more

This place was so worth the hype. I saw them all over Instagram in California and have been waiting for it to finally come close enough to me! I didn't get the sugar added on either one, I loved the savory flavor! I got half and half in both of them and I wish I would have gotten two more. They make them fresh per order so it does take a little while, not too long at all but definitely worth the wait. I will be back! I'm assuming they don't have egg sum sandwiches at this location? Absolutely delicious and worth the hype. Had the hot Cheeto half hot dog and half mozzarella, it was delightful. They make the hot dog fresh after you order, it was hot, crispy and decadent the cheese pull was everything and the mayo with hot Cheetos topping is the cherry on top. Service was impeccable they kindly made me a plain hot dog for my daughter as a special request no problem at all. Tried 4 types all with just meat. If you really love corn dogs or mozzarella sticks then you'll love this place. It's a nice twist on both. They have sweet chili sauce along with others for dipping. It was all good but I don't feel the need to return as I'm not a fan of corn dogs or mozzarella sticks. Staff was great and the place was mostly clean. Loved this place!! It went viral on TikTok and now there are always long lines! It's pretty much that you pick a flavor (fruity, hot cheetos, etc) and then the filling (full corn dog, half corn dog half mozz or full mozz or cheddar cheese) I personally got the hot cheetos one with full mozzarella. That costed about $5.50. It tasted amazing! It was crispy and they put this spicy mayo sauce on it and then sprinkle hot cheetos crumbs on top. The place itself is super instagrammable from the inside. There's also tons of seating inside. Overall, love the spot and would go again. One thing to keep in mind - service is really slow. Since it's a newly opened establishment, i'd give them another chance but I mean waited almost 35-40 mins for one corn dog. I'm sure once it's been running for a couple months, service will a bit faster. read more

Although the corn dog had great crunch it lack with flavor. The doritos left an after taste of doritosin my mouth with little to no flavor on the batter and chicken sausage. The interior of this place is very spacious, nice big tables for a bunch of friends to hang out, or just a quick bite to eat. The service is fast but the employees are not friendly. The Kong fries have a phenomenal taste, but what doesn't taste good with spicy mayo? That's the only thing that tastes good here unfortunately. This place seems like it's for Instagram or tik tok where you take a funny picture or video with funny looking food. But the actual quality of the hot dogs and cheese dogs is very low. They don't taste good at all, and the hot dogs taste like they are from the dollar store. I also saw them using Parmesan cheese from Costco and not refrigerating it, gross. This is a one and done place. read more

This spot is all over insta and tiktok! Its so simple, who doesn't like corndogs, and cheese, and flaming hot cheetos? I ofcourse got he flaming hot dog (#7), along with #2 the one with potatoes. Both were pretty good! I will say the half mozzarella half beef is the way to go. You get some of that ooey gooey cheese, and the savoryness of the dog. Skip the chicken! Cool concept would love to see more dessert dogs or more unique toppings. But i can deff see this being served at baseball games or sporting events, its so quick and easy. But not so special to visit if your not in the area. read more

Korean Corn Dogs seemed to have randomly gotten really popular in the states this year, and I'm not mad at it. Mozzarella stick meets corn dog meets hot cheeto (?) What could go wrong? Seemingly nothing! A friend and I got the Original, Fried Potato, and Spaghetti Stick to share, all with 1/2 Mozzarella 1/2 Sausage as the base. They were each absolutely scrumptious, but my favorite by far was the Original, especially dipped into their Honey Mustard sauce. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the Fried Potato option, claiming "it's like fries and a corn dog all in one!" The Spaghetti Stick tasted exactly how you think it would, so no disappointment there. I paired my snack with a Mango Lemonade and it truly was the perfect combo. 3 sticks to share between two people was the ideal amount of food for a light lunch. I will definitely be back! read more

Was staying at the hotel behind it and we went three days in a row. We were going to try to go all five days in order to try all the dogs, but it didn't end up happening. I highly recommend the potato dog with half mozzarella half hotdog, and the sweet potato with all mozz. So, so good. The gingerade was not my style but my mom loved the sparkling strawberry lemonade. They also offer several flavors of Milkis! Can't wait to go back next year. read more

This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly. My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us. However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive. Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks. After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango. He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor. It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable. He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner. The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste. The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh. I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good! My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too. He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value. He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too. We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly. In the meantime, I ordered a Hot Chick (medium heat), with a side of fries, some extra pickles, and the garlic sauce to make my Slavic heart happy. The food came out fresh from the bubbling oil, it could be handled without burns, but clearly spent no time under a lamp. Both the chicken and the fries were fried to a delectable crunch. No twice-fried-as-an-excuse here, genuinely well done. My only note is that it feels as though the fries and chicken *may* have spent an extra 15 seconds in the fryer. While the innards were tender, it felt as though a tinge of moisture was sacrificed without need. The fries were seasoned perfectly, and other than the usual delight of dipping them into everything on the plate, they were perfect as they were. Fantastic amount too, not the starch overload of Five Guys, but not a skimpy serving either. The chicken sandwich was the real star. The medium contained some proper spice without having smoke come out the ears. It was well sauced, and had a great hit of acid from the pickles. Out of left field came the slaw: I was not expecting to like this to the point of almost leaving it out. However, it was fresh, felt homemade, and wasn't a mayonnaise bomb. Would order the again without complaints or reservations. I also had a chance to try their house-made lemonade. I appreciate that they use zero-calorie sweetener to cut down on sugars. However, it came out too sweet for my liking. It would be helpful to have options of level and type of sweet. Final notes: The server behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable time frame considering how fresh everything was. Final verdict: A case where I say it's a good thing Nash Bros is a little bit of a hike, otherwise I might visit too much for my health. Barring some minor notes, everything was scrumptious, and I'd happily order it all again (and likely will!)

We usually get soy garlic but ventured out to try sweet and mild, but didn't like it as much since it's too much sauce! It wasn't very spicy at all, compared to what I'd expect for the Korean level of spicy. Regardless, I think I would definitely come back here for soy garlic, as I think they have the best one in town among all the competitions. We also wanted to try the drinks, but sadly the drinks are a disappointment. They didn't have medium size at all, so you have to order a large. The milk tea options say there's soymilk based ones but they don't actually have that either. So we landed on a kumquat tea and the server asked if we wanted boba and we said yes. However the actual boba were overcooked so it's mushy and not chewy, and they didn't soak in sugar water so the boba aren't sweet. The kumquat flavor was very strong so we liked that. Next time will just have to remember no boba.

When it my turn to bat, I finally ordered the beef bulgogi rice plate. The order comes out fairly quickly, which is what you want out of a food truck. The beef bulgogi is fine but not the most delicious I've eaten. The scoop of white rice is generous, and there is a bit of shredded lettuce. The star of this plate to me was actually the flavorful glassy noodles (japchae I believe). Overall a solid Korean lunch in downtown.

Anyway, I've been back a couple times, mostly when I catch them by the NBC Tower/Pioneer Court area. I keep ordering the combination rice bowl which consists of rice (duh), bulgogi beef and spicy pork, lettuce, and noodles all for $11. I never finish this in one sitting, as usual, and always end up with a ton leftover for dinner (or lunch the next day). It's a pretty solid order. He gave me a decent to try and he was eating a good amount and he couldn't even finish. The portions are a lot too! As for the banchan, I was super excited to see acorn jelly. Ive actually never tried it. We liked it! It's lightly seasoned, and the jelly itself is light. It's a good palate cleanser imo. The broccoli and sausage banchan was really good too. The broccoli is cooked to where it's not too soft and still crunchy. It's lightly seasoned too. I liked it haha as for the rest of the typical banchans, all were very well seasoned. Everything here is made to order and always comes out fresh. The seating area is not that large, and there is no drive-through, thank goodness. Ordering is pretty simple... You choose your protein choose your carb and agree whether you're fine with their vegetable options. The service is pretty quick and what's interesting is that they give good recommendations based off of your likes. I chose to go very conservative and order their chicken teriyaki. Next time I'm gonna add a little spice and possibly go with the grilled spicy orange chicken with a mix of rice and noodles.
