It's a tiny little town out store. It's clean and bright and the food is generally great. It is Popeyes after all and we are fans.

We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out…read morethat it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try!

We dined in here a month or so ago and were the only customers at what you would think is peak dinnertime, 6pm or so. It was a ghost town. And not only that, but the restaurant was ghostly chilly too. Very cold inside, to the point that we switched tables to get to avoid the draft from the vent and commented to the employee about it. The tonkatsu entree is mediocre. The batter on the pork was crispy, but bland. It was $16.99, as was the small order of boneless wings, which come with a tiny side of coleslaw or pickled radish. A side of plain fries is $5.99. On our last pick up order from here too, the chicken strips were soggy and barely had any crunch to it. My husband usually doesn't complain or call back about it, let alone return to the restaurant for a redo of the order, but that evening warranted it.

It was cold, dark and unwelcoming. Red flag because the Chinatown location, which I frequent often. Is ALWAYS busy, with bright lighting and comfortable temperature, no matter what time of day. The cashier/hostess was rather dry and minimally friendly as she told us we could sit anywhere when we told her we were dine-in. I'm immediately turned off by staff who act as if they would rather be anywhere else than their place of employment. But the good thing about most chains is that they have to follow recipes. I fell in love with Bonchon wings (Chinatown location ) a couple of years ago when my daughter introduced me to them. Whether dine-in or take-out, I always had a great experience and was treated well by staff. While the food here was great---soy garlic wings, udon noodle soup, buns and the japchae noodles were just as delicious as Chinatown, the customer service left much to be desired. I'm thinking it could be busier if it were more welcoming. Meh.

We were lucky enough to have the same host again -- Denise -- who is super friendly, easy to talk to, and makes you feel like a regular right away. That kind of familiarity really elevates the whole experience. We kicked things off with the Mexican wings and WOW... those were on another level. The seasoning is completely unique -- bold, flavorful, and something you don't come across often. Absolutely unforgettable. It's one of the new menu items that we tried . Then came the garlic Parmesan wings... and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in heaven. Perfectly crispy, loaded with that rich, garlicky flavor -- exactly what you want in a wing. Another new item ! For my main meal I had the chicken BLT, which was seasoned perfectly and topped with this garlic spread that added an amazing contrast. Every bite just worked. My hubs had the Philly steak sandwich. Totally one of the highlights. The steak was incredibly tender, cooked just right, and paired with the perfect amount of mushrooms -- not too much, not too little. Everything was balanced and packed with flavor. And my drink of the night !? The hibiscus margarita completely stole the show for me. Refreshing, slightly sweet, and honestly kind of addicting -- I could've had a couple more. Overall, an incredible experience (again). Great food, great vibes, and great service. Safe to say we'll be back... probably sooner than later! Maybe even next weekend !

Was not busy at all, so that wasn't the reason. Ordering drinks was quite the task with Maya as she'd forget the order. Positive note, food was good and came out somewhat decent time. Lastly, billing was quite the task. Took about 20min and it was incorrect. How we were charged for 6 beers when the bucket comes with 5... not sure. Also incorrect mixed drinks were billed. Some of us gave cash, and she decided to keep the change and gave herself a 36% tip from me and 33% tip from the other. Because this process took so long just trying to leave - we didn't bother with getting the change... or we might have had to wait another 20-30minutes.

Beach Boys, surf music and other mellow tunes play overhead while you wait. It wasn't long at all, and I was presented with three (3!!!) crisply battered fish filets on a mound of seasoned shoestring fries. It was hot (prepared to order, remember), and delicious. The fries were awesome as well. I thought it was a little pricey, but the portions were large and I had plenty to take away. Hubby and I wanted some seafood and we passed by Surf's Up a few times so it's long overdue for us to stop and try the food today. The owner, Lisa, was working behind the counter. She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren't in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made. The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn't stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described! We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po' boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. Don't pass up this cute little place with delicious fresh seafood and desserts plus friendly service.

We used to regularly make reservations for holidays and they had a WONDERFUL buffet with lovely ice sculptures. It felt so special. Regarding Ambiance, it can get a bit loud and crowded, but the staff do their best and a little compassion for others makes for a WONDERFUL experience. Lastly, they have lovely grounds that can be seen through the floor to ceiling windows. There is a path that one can walk after the meal to enjoy the greenery. P.S. The Women's restroom is Old School amazing with a stocked lounge separate from the stalls and sinks. Nursing moms would love it. (I don't know why this isn't posting so I try again.)

I would definitely order this again. The allgauers salad is a pear, cranberry, walnut vinaigrette with a tart sweet and sour to it- very good! The chicken breast was cooked moist and the spinach/artichoke spread was a fine compliment. The orzo was cooked perfectly and a great compliment. The veggies needed some seasoning but properly crispy and adequate. It's a 3 star meal (above average) that gets a 4th star for value after discount and convenience attached to the hotel.

However I do have one improvement for them off the bat. The last time I was physically at the restaurant (think late summer) the cleanliness was subpar. Straw wrappers and napkins scattered around the drink fountain, as well as sticky surfaces. Most concerning of all was the pair of eclipse viewing glasses, representing a lack of interest in keeping up with trash duty. The place in general needed a cleaning, and I hope to see it the beext time return. The food is not a reflection of this fortunately, as the fries have always been consistently seasoned and flavorful. The door dash order I had earlier this evening was no different and each bite was like a love letter to the palliate. There were a couple here and there that had be cooked a little too long, but I digress. I always order the chicken tenders, and tonights were as good as always. just enough crisp and tenderness, and even a bonus 6th tender in my 5 tender combo is a great touch. I must also mention that I've had my issues with mobile ordering in the past. Once while I was waiting there , a bag was brought to counter and I had believed the employee had said my name, although he didn't speak clearly enough. As I began to leave, I noticed a strange smell. I stopped and checked inside, only to find out it was someone else's order. When I returned to the counter and explain the mistake I made, the guy seemed confused, but took the food back anyway and I waited for my actual order. At the end of the day, I truly believe that this location is good, but needs some sharpening up to truly be great. Here's to hoping one day this place can become bigger than 2 stars.
