Boys are a big corn dog fan, me, not so much. That is why I opted for the wings and fries, which were good. Boys ordered the ramen dog and potato dog. They said it was good. I would hope so, since they scarfed down 5 of em. $75 later, they are well fed. Teenagers. Services was fast and our order was accurate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is clean and spacious[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've driven by this spot so many times and needed something small and quick to eat for lunch. I thought they would just have Korean corn dogs but they offered so much more. The corn dogs come in a variety of flavors and you can even customize the filling. I ended up doing the potato corn dog with half beef and half cheese. It was delicious! I also ended up trying the pork dumplings which they serve on a bed of fries. They included the teriyaki sauce for dipping and it hit the spot! I also tried the ube latte and it was delicious. Overall a great spot that I definitely underestimated and would gladly come back to again.

We were in and out in about 10 minutes. Always willing to try something once! I got the half mozz/half beef Kong dog and with hot Cheeto as a topping. The cheeeeeeeeseeeee pull surprised me. I would probably go for the full mozz next time. I really liked the crunch of the kong dog and it was very tasty as well.

I was excited to find a Korean dog spot with ramen and flamin hot Cheeto dust toppings! I tried the sparkling ginger ade with my meal, but it was way too sweet for my preference. My husband had the mango lemonade with sparkling and said it was too sweet. We also ordered a side of wings in garlic sriracha, and it was okay. The French fries are pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. The dogs were good though!

I tried Kong dog for the first time. It was pretty tasty. The waitress was helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seemed like we came during a down time, we were the only ones in the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress mentioned that the most popular is the potato dog. We didn't get it because it looked heavy. We just wanted to have a snack. We ordered the hot cheetah dog and the original dog. Both were reasonably priced. I liked that you could choose the options of meat or cheese, and they also offer to do half and half which is super cool. I got half and half, the cheese pull was crazy! I wish I had gotten a picture of that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant had cool decor and seemed very trendy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered at the counter but they also have kiosk for those that know what they want. I would definitely order the hot cheetah, and next time I'll try the potato dog.

Ok this is surprising to me, but I have to revise my review. We went back when this place first opened and was "Holly Cow" and were less then impressed. Since then, this has changed to "Kong Dog" and it is so so so much better. We came in with our son, (we have a son now lol, so that's saying how long it's been since we last visited) lol!!! There's kiosks to order your food or you can do so at the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and updated. Everything was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a plain corn dog with honey mustard and a hot Cheeto dog. We went with the beef sausage for both. The Cheeto dog was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. It was not super spicy at all. It was very crispy and tasty. The regular corn dog was crispy and savory. The honey mustard added a very nice sweet touch. All our food was piping hot and given to us in a timely manner. All the employees were nice to us and nice to our baby son. They were very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our son was intrigued by the K pop music videos and vibing with music that was playing. It was a fun ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a nice place for families to visit, very kid friendly dining too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A place dedicated to hot dogs?! You are speaking my language. Not just hot dogs; their sassy, grungier cousin: the corn dog. You can choose your inside: full dog, half dog/half cheese, chicken sausage, etc. Then comes the outside. I had the chili and potato; both good. They achieve a crispiness on the outside and a batter/dog separation that is unparalleled. Listen, if you like yourself a frankfurter - you just have to try it. If you're not a hot dog type person - maybe it's not for you. But also...who hurt you?

I wasn't expecting much as I'm not a big fan of corn dogs but I am always up to try a new joint out especially since they market a common street food from South Korea. OMG, Thank goodness I did. The menu is pretty simple...9 types of toppings on the outside of the corndog from hot Cheetos to sweet chili Doritos to potatoes and so on. You then have to choose a filling. The options are either 1) beef dog, 2) all mozzarella 3) half and half, 4) chicken dog, 5) plant based 6) all cheddar 7) half beef dog half cheddar. You take a bite and the first thing you notice is the delightful crunch. Then it's followed by a burst of flavors. I also tried their Kong fries. To die for! A delicious mix of fresh cut fries, spicy honey mustard topped with hot Cheetos and parmesan cheese. Nothing like I've ever tasted but something in definitely going to taste over and over again in the future! So !

One of my exes told me way back when, "When I go out to eat, I like to order everything and just have a bite here and there". While she did that a lot to me over the years, I kinda like that mentality. While I don't eat everything I order, it's nice to sample up and take home if necessary. So by being selected and checking in, I was able to order 1 Kong Dog and a beverage (lemonade). I didn't do the lemonade and did a bottle of water instead. I ordered up and got 2 more KD's to try. I did the original, the Hot Cheetos and their Potato. All of those had the whole Beef Sausage filling. The winner by far was the Potato one! It's like an all in one meal! I love how everything is made to order as well! I'm not sure what kind of breading was used but it was light and not heavy. I would def come back here to try other variations! One less star since they have their paper baskets, overage of canned beverages, napkins exposed in the back. Having a closet added or adding some shelving would've been a neater look. It's in a strip mall so there is enough parking available.

Spectacular!! This place is must try for everyone. I loved their variety of Kong Dogs they had. I am a person who loves Spicy food so i ordered Hot Cheeto Kong Dog and also Injeolmi Kong Dog along with Kong Dog Fries. And in drinks i ordered Mango Lemonade. Both the Kong Dogs had a sweet tinge to it. Wish there were more spicer options. Staff was very very helpful and nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. My Favorite was Hot Cheetos Kong Dog.

So I went today and tried a hot Cheetos with half veinna beef and mozzarella. The second corn dog was supposed to be potato with chicken sausage . They doubled on Cheeto dog instead so comped extra Cheeto dog. I had mango drink with tip it was twent four dollars . The Cheeto dog is great recommend half beef and half cheese. The potato dog was good in the outside. The chicken sausage consistency was like a mealy hotdog . Potato perfect underneath was a layer of corn dog which was soggy . Didn't care for sausage. Third working out kinks with the order but overall they tried to make it right and comped one dog.

Filling options. My fave was #3.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Kong dog is a fun place for a quick snack.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorite is the hot Cheeto, 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 beef. They recently added wings, fries, and other food and drink options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It takes about 10 min or so to get your food, but it's a trendy environment to hang out in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A popular spot for high schoolers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

potato and hot cheeto mozzarella dog
    Kelly L.

A great place for a snack! My favorite I usually tend to get is the hot cheeto all mozzarella dog as it packs the most flavor with the sauce and hot cheeto dust. My next recommendations would have to be the potato or sweet potato dog for the texture and definitely standout in comparison to the originally. Overall, I love how savory these are and the cheese pull is always really nice. Everything is made to order and the price is worthwhile to try. Definitely an upgrade and prefer these to normal mozzarella sticks. For some it may actually be filling enough to be a meal!

I don't know, but $40 for a burger, a Chicago style hot dog, two fries (to be fair, one was chili cheese fries), and two fountain drinks seems excessive. Service was pleasant. I could see how the concept works for dog people who are dog crazy. Again, food is decent, prices high, service pleasant, decor and concept a bit confusing.

Put the lid back on and tossed it back in the bag. They must have given me a cup of cheese sauce that fell behind the counter 5 years ago or something by mistake. My dad had an office and n Glenview when I was younger and this place was there and he had never heard of it. I guess if you were local or took the Metra, then you knew. I made a reservation as there were twelve of us coming in. We arrive for our monthly Burger Club with high hopes. It's a cute place. They have a nice outdoor deck area and the inside has a nice wooden bar with tables around it with two or three additional rooms of seating, too. We asked for separate checks, and our server told us it was no problem (it was). They have a lot of burgers to choose from so we thought that this would be a great place to go. I'll say this, our server was wonderful. Super nice, really friendly, always refilling drinks. Just a wonderful experience with her. And that's where it ends. My burger came our perfectly prepared (they ask what temperature you want and I wanted medium rare). The patties are insanely thin and toppings, while fresh, are overly abundant. Fresh lettuce, tasty pickles, etc. the burger had no flavor. No salt or pepper to season it or anything. And mine was the best of the group. Others received burgers that were overcooked, had the wrong buns, came with caramelized onions, but were raw -were sent back and came back raw again - and the sides were underwhelming. I don't like ketchup, so I asked for ranch and it was thick and had a funky flavor to it. Then bills came and they were all wrong. She had mixed up every bill. Thankfully most burgers cost the same, but drinks and some side upgrades don't. We will never go back here. I have no idea how they stay in business.

The patio is just okay, in my opinion. It's small and nothing is very special about it, but on a nice, sunny day, it's perfect for lunch. I've never been a huge fan of the indoor dining area either, and I usually opt to sit at the bar if I can. The staff is very kind. They have an excellent burger. It's always cooked right and I love the bun. I add avocado to mine. The fries are great too, and always the perfect amount of crispy. I consistently used to order their Turkey Club, but at some point in the past few years, they switched from fresh cut turkey to deli turkey. It's not nearly as good anymore for that reason, and not worth ordering. The only Glenview restaurants I know of that still use fresh turkey in their sandwiches are Hackney's and Meier's Tavern. Also, their Guinness pours can be questionable depending on who's pouring. Nowadays, when I go to Grandpa's, I only ever order the Chicken Kabobs. They are absolutely delicious! If you like medium spice, I advise you to ask for them cajun-style. They are best this way! The kabobs come served over rice with the most juicy oven roasted tomatoes, and this addicting peanut sauce on the side. I pour it over the whole thing. It is a must-try and no doubt the best thing on their menu. Highly recommend Grandpa's food, as most things on the menu are enjoyable. They also have Merkt's Cheese!

Yeah... it was likely when they were cooked in beef tallow, as opposed to oil with beef flavor added (really!). I don't buy into the belief that one must go after seed oils with torch and pitchforks, but I do love a darn good fry, and Steak 'n Shake delivered! They were hot, fresh, and well seasoned. The burger itself was respectable as far as fast food goes. It was cooked fresh and assembled with care. The meat was well seasoned, and the veggies gave a good balance in terms of freshness. While the smashed patties didn't have the lacy crisp edges a next-level smashburger does, it's fast food, so I'm not going to hold it against them (I may be tough, but I am reasonable!). It did take a hot minute for the food to come out, but I was not in a hurry, and I want to recognize that everything appeared to be cooked fresh to order. It was very quiet at the time, so please be aware that during a busy time, YMMV. Finally, the service was perfectly polite and friendly. Final verdict: Steak 'n Shake has by 'good' by definition burgers. Where they shine, though, is the fries, and not for a lack of seed oils, but for being hot, fresh, and flavorful! Thus, we are left with a place that is not a destination, but one to visit when I am in the area craving a superb fast-food fry!
