This cute little Thai restaurant by my workplace has an amazing weekday lunch special from 11:30-3:30PM, so I took advantage of it during my lunch break. The base price is $11 and only $3 each to add an appetizer and drink. The interior is casual with some seating and tables. I ordered the Shrimp Drunken Noodles, along with Crab Rangoon and Thai Coffee bubble tea. The Thai Coffee was strong, creamy, smooth, and sweet. Boba was not of high quality and didn't have that satisfying chewiness. Crab Rangoon was filled with a cream cheese crab concoction, which was rich and true crab taste. The Drunken Noodles were made with sautéed flat rice noodles, mixed with fresh basil, onions, carrots, bamboo and bell peppers in a chili soy sauce. The noodles were perfectly cooked, while the veggies were fresh and crunchy. There were actually plenty of shrimp (for once) and they were succulent, as well as juicy. The ingredients blended together beautifully coated in the delightfully well seasoned, savory sauce, which had a slight kick to it. I've also tried the Sweet Sausage Fried Rice, which was quite tasty. I loved the Sweet Sausage, which reminded me of Chinese Sausage. It was made expertly, and was tender and full of flavor. Service was efficient. Next time, I would like to try some of the bubble tea options, such as the Thai Soy Milk with Basil Seed / Red Bean / Thai Tapioca, Coconut Dragon Fruit, and Brown Sugar Milky Coffee. In terms of food, I would return to get the Pad Thai Crab Meat and a dish with Crispy Pork. read more

We had a few guests over and we decided to order from Koo Thai and I was so glad we selected this spot. We were able to try many different curries, cooked dishes and apps. I was very pleased with the dishes we selected and my guests were also very happy. Some of the notable dishes were the drunken noodles, green curry, red curry, tamarind dish with shrimp. We also tried the duck wrap and the summer roll in shrimp. What I really like is that with every dish you can select your protein. Got a pickup order of pad see ew and jasmine milk bubble tea. The noodles were cooked well and had nice flavor, and even though the tofu was normal tofu wasn't the pre-fried kind with the starchy layer on the outside, it had great texture and was nicely fried. I also enjoyed the vegetables and egg. Good ingredient ratios! The jasmine tea had a strong jasmine flavor which was great! It was also not too sweet with the lower sugar setting I requested. Then you may find yourself wondering where the cozy, comforting vibe went. Everything else is quite solid, and I would still recommend it, especially for the excellent sub $15 lunch special, which in NYC is no small thing. I generally enjoy spice and often add extra chili oil elsewhere, but here the heat is simply too punchy. Both the drunken noodles and the fried rice at a medium spice level completely derailed my lunch break. The spice is not subtle or layered. One of the closer boba places to where I live, so I had to try it eventually. The restaurant is pretty small, with maybe seating for 10 people in groups of 2. Seems like its mostly a pickup/takeout place, since we also saw many delivery drivers come in and pick up food, but there were also a couple people eating there. We got the normal Jasmine Milk Tea with boba. The boba was good and bouncy, and the tea had a very strong jasmine taste. I don't get boba very often, but this place is on the better side, especially for the upper east side. Walking past the people that had food, it seemed pretty good with large portions.
