Visiting UD and wanted to try what I think is the sole Korean place near by. Glad we did. The service was very friendly. The place was nice and clean. The food: Gamja tang- pork neck and potato stew with perilla leaves. I have had this in many restaurants in Ny and NJ and I think this was better than many I've had in the past few years. Galbi tang- short rib soup with cellophane noodles. Very flavorful broth. Much the way I recall having it made at home by my mom. The pork trotter bokkum. Was more Chinese in flavor profile but still enjoyed it. Kimchee- also pretty darn enjoyable. I told my dtr and my wife my thoughts and they agreed. We would def go back. And would bring others! I wish the portions were a bit bigger. Especially for bbq beef short rib. $32 for about half pound of meat really is a bit crazy. I dropped over $100 on dinner for 3 and we all left hungry. Not included in the pics are the banchan and seafood pancake. They are very stingy with the banchan and gave us 3 tiny morsels of everything. Flavor of everything was pretty good except those weird seafood noodles (my friend who is scared of spicy stuff ordered this dish, not recommended). Tasted like they just squired teriyaki sauce on udon noodles. They usually only have one or two servers working at a time and so when it gets busy you can count on slow service. Had a craving for KBBQ but sadly with KPot taking forever and AYCE KBBQ not being close by in Delaware, decided to check out this spot for our cravings! Stopped into the restaurant that I have drive past for a while now. Walking in you walk right into the dining room of the home looking restaurant. We were quickly sat in a nearby table with grill installed in it as we wanted to cook out meats tableside. There was odd lighting placement making some of the restaurant illuminated while others sat in semi dark spots; it's not as dark as some "candle lit" restaurants but could use an update for us to enjoy all the crispy savor meats grilling at our table. We ordered the bulgogi and the samgyupsal our typical order; one with a marinade while the other a nice contrast with us able to enjoy the bean paste that was served with the meal that I hoarded to myself as I assumed my boyfriend wouldn't want it. I was sadly mistaken as I was fighting over it by the end of the meal. The banchan served was fish cake, sweet potatoes, kimchi and cucumbers. The portions were filling for one person so it was whoever was quicker to grab what they wanted to grab. We didn't ask for a second serving or even more rice out of the two portions we got with our meats because it was listed that it would be an extra charge. I sometimes get turned off when places limit you to one serving. By having more side dishes to enjoy, you'll more likely to stay and socialize which leads to more eating and drinking but that's what I think. We did order a steamed egg dish which is always a nice change up between the savory flavors of the meat and a boyfriend favorite! There was another larger party that was trying to figure out what they wanted to eat and was suggested to order one meat per person and with the portions that were served I can see why. Either find an AYCE or even opt to make it at home. With so many Asian grocery stores in Newark you are better setting up your own grill on a patio and doing it that way. I had a very bad experience today. Not the first time having KBBQ. In fact, I've probably been to more KBBQ places that the whole Newark area has to offer. This place is the worst of all. Let me walk you through why I rated them 1/5 star. - Minus 1 star because the price is too pricy for such a small portion. There are more reviews about this problem. I don't need to write a lot about this. - Minus 1 star because they were out of literally everything I ordered. Fish cake: out. Galbi: out. Water: gave us half a cup. So they probably out of water too. - Minus 1 star because of the bad customer service. They charge such a high-end restaurant price for a small store. I expected the customer service to be good. But noooooooo. I didn't feel welcome at all. They seemed to be in a rush, when there were only 3 tables total. Took them roughly 20 min to give us some half-full water cups. - Worst of all: I ordered from the BBQ menu. Expected to be able to cook at my table. The menu clearly said at least 2 BBQ items to do that. So we ordered 1 Pork Belly and 1 Spicy Bulgogi. Check out the pic I included in the review. What did it said: 2 Pork Belly and 1 Bulgogi. Do you know why? Because the waitress didn't know her own FREAKING restaurant. We did confirm we want one of each. She said we need 2 orders total to cook outside. We agreed with that. So she put in 2 orders of Pork Belly. She didn't know that 2+1 = 3. In the end she did acknowledge her mistake. And had the audacity to tell us that "Next time I won't do that again. I'll remember next time. But you ate it already so you have to pay" (Indirect quote) Well obvs we paid the amount because we ate the meat. But how the HECK can we know that it's 2 FREAKING orders of Pork Belly to send it back? Sorry girl, but there's no next time. 1st and last time here. read more

Wow...if you want authentic Korean food...this is the place to go. The food is SO good. The 1 star reviews are totally bogus and if you actually read them, none of the reviews are about the actual quality and taste of the food. We were visiting the area from Jersey and were debating between this one and another Korean restaurant in Dover. We ended up choosing this one because we figured if the menu has Korean writing, it's got to be legit Korean food, which is what we were looking for. Did not disappoint. They are BUSY so highly recommend calling about 10 minutes before you head in to make sure they have a table ready. Worth the wait in my opinion if there's a wait. This spot is AMAZING! I was craving Korean food and found this little gem. It was busy on a Sunday morning but we got seated very quickly. I had the seafood soondubu and my son loved the japchae. Came here with my wife (Thai) and I (White). Got seated while the restaurant was completely empty. Waited for 20 mins to be approached about drinks. I made eye contact with several employees to let them know I was ready to order, but none approached. 3 Korean men walked in and got seated right away and served while we were still waiting. More people continued to come in but only the Korean customers got served first. I told the waitress that we were ready to order but she said very rudely that she was busy and for us to wait. We got up and left immediately after that! The very minimum the staff could've done would've been to at least give us some water but I guess that's asking for too much. Excited to try this place since it is the closest Korean restaurant near our house (and we don't have to drive all the way to Philly for it). I was skeptical about the restaurant seeing all the mixed reviews but still wanted to try it anyway. First off the place is tiny. They offered us a table in a corner by the air conditioner (not ideal but the place was packed with people and we didn't have to wait so whatever). We ordered two BBQ meats the galbi and the bulgogi. We also ordered the scallion pancake and 6 piece shrimp shumai. Our food at least came out pretty quickly. The scallion pancake was okay. Alittle doughy and seemed it would be better if it was fried a tad more. The shrimp shumai was good but had wayyy too much pepper in it which was a bit overwhelming. The star of the show was the meats ! I would say the amount of meat we got was little based on what we paid (other places you get so much more !) But it's fine the meat was really good! The bulgogi was flavorful and the galbi was omgggg good. The side dishes that came with our BBQ were also really good. We were well fed and left happy. The guys that worked there were working their butts off trying to turn tables and get food to everyone. Pretty good place ! Racist establishment. Arrived with a party of 9 to celebrate my brother preparing to move away to another state. The place is pretty small and pretty busy during the dinner hours. There was one table of 6 ready and we were told that they couldn't accommodate a group of 9, but it would about an hour wait for another table to become available. We stated that we had no problem waiting, since we figured it'd be busy. The hostess then said it would be 2 hours. Then she said we were not permitted to split our group into 2 separate tables due to a "restaurant policy by the owner" and they could not accommodate 9 people. I continued asking why they were unable to seat us at 2 separate tables and received no clear answer other than "that's what the owner said." Since 2 people from our party hadn't arrived yet, I even said that we can just put in for 2 separate names for 2 different tables (as if we weren't together) and the hostess said "I already know you're all one group." Like are you freaking kidding me?! At that point, it was clear we weren't wanted in this restaurant so I said good night and we left to take our business elsewhere. Our first experience at Korean BBQ was terrific. Our waiter was very helpful and patient with us as we tried to figure out how to eat hot pot. With that said, the mixed seafood hotpot was delicious and reasonably priced. It contained many mussels, calamari, crab, red snapper, and shrimp. The broth was flavorful with a bit of spice. The restaurant's atmosphere was intimate, and we enjoyed the quirky Korean cooking show that played quietly in the corner. It's a bit sad that we had to drive by this restaurant for years before stopping in. We will be sure to make it a regular going forward! read more

Any who I ordered a hite beer it was ice cold, that will satisfy me every time. I ordered the shumai, green onion salad, and spicy grilled chicken BBQ. Each dish was very satisfying. I noticed a lot of customers were ordering the fried BBQ wings , so I ordered those to take home. I was very excited to hear that I was going to try Korean BBQ in Delaware. Ironically, this was the most work I've had to do in a long time. Seriously, the waitress dropped off the meat and left us alone. I cut the galbi short ribs off the bone, cooked it and cut it with scissors. Waitress never came back. I have been coming here since I was 16, I am now 33. I never really write reviews about service, but I went there last month with my mom, dad and my 2 year old and my 12 month old. That's 3 adults and practically 2 babies. We ordered 2 calamari BBQ, 2 marinaded pork BBQ, a stone bowl seafood rice, and a seafood tofu soup. That's a lot of food. No one even check on us to see if we needed anything after the food came, I had to wave them down for more side dishes. They came back with 3 pieces of broccoli, a couple pieces of potatoes. We ordered 6 things... I think it's a little ridiculous to skimp on the side dishes that way. It's not like we asked for more meat. It's literally broccoli and potato. Ok, fine, forget that. We got our bill and we noticed they charged us automatically a 19% tip!!! The lady saw us looking at the check and came over to tell us it's because we had a party of 5. 3 adults and 2 babies though??? I usually tip between 20 to 30% everywhere I go depending on your SERVICE. She was so rude to us and never even provided us any service but you want to charge 19%? That is ridiculous. It's ok though, because we will never be going here again and that is solely on the garbage service we have gotten and not because of the food. It is just intolerable to even go back. I didn't come to eat for free and to deal with your nasty waitresses. If you treated your customers kindly you will get what you deserve and would have to scam people for their tip. I have been coming here for years. This is where my mom and I love to go for our birthday dinner or just because. I have brought a few friends here and from then on they were hooked. So many flavors and textures. The service is great. I don't think I can say enough about this place. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they are not close enough.
