I've been to a few KPOTs in NY/NJ, and will say this was one the best experiences yet. We went in late on a Monday, and were given leeway on the 90-minute limit. The food was yummy and prompt, and of good portions for AYCE. Our server Arkar was absolutely standout and made sure we were taken care of and had prompt service despite being near closing time. Had gone to eat at the KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot location on my friend's birthday in the Downtown Brooklyn neighborhood not too long ago. We sat at a big table and it was the reservation for ten people in total. Service was okay-ish and somewhat attentive from semi-friendly staff. Hard to get a few napkins from staff, so ended up getting up myself to find them. But, it was also understandable since it was extremely busy during rush hours on a Saturday evening. Its ambiance felt spacious even though it could get crowded fast. The AYCE Pricing Tiers on Both Weekdays + Weekends: *Weekday Lunch Specials (Monday-Friday, Open to 4:00pm) - Hot Pot or BBQ: $20.99-$21.99 per adult - Both Hot Pot & BBQ: $26.99 per adult *Dinner, Weekends, & Holidays - Hot Pot or BBQ: $31.00-$32.99 per adult - Both Hot Pot & BBQ: $36.00-$37.00 per adult Everyone at the table must either do just hot pot, just K-BBQ or both. If doing both hot pot + K-BBQ, then it's $5 extra for each individual. The pricing is actually considered as typical like other Manhattan & Brooklyn spots. None of the drinks are included within the AYCE pricing, each drink is paid separately. There're discounts available towards children. But there were no kids with us at that time, everyone was an adult. We had chosen to do both hot pot & K-BBQ. $5 extra wasn't too bad to begin with. There's quite a variety of meats + seafood + fish balls + soybean products + noodles + veggies available from the menu. All of us wanted to try eating/grilling/cooking the ingredients in both ways. Additionally, the restaurant offered each patron an unlimited access to the self-serve Hot Appetizer Food + Fresh Fruits + Desserts + DIY Sauce Bar during the 2-hours. Hot appetizers such as sweet potato fries, fried chicken, fried dumplings or whatever options they'd offered on the day you decide to visit the location. Desserts like Hong Kong styled sweet soups and mango pomelo. Sauce Bar includes soy sauce, oyster sauce, hot sauce, peanut satay sauce, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, chopped green onions, cilantro, chili peppers, sesame oil etc. *There're currently 9 soup base varieties: - Thai Tom Yum + Mushroom (Vegetarian) + Healthy Herbs (Chicken Broth) + Japanese Miso + Szechuan Spicy + Korean Seafood Tofu + Gluten Free + Tomato (Vegetarian) + Golden Chicken (Kpot Special). This place is so delicious and plenty of bang for your buck. Definitely recommend the short rib and pork belly for barbecue. I would like to go back to try hot pot. Tl;dr dry meat, weak electric grill that took forever to cook things, and zero additional sides that other AYCE have as standard (kimchi, etc.) The worst KBBQ I've genuinely ever have had. All of the meat was unmarinated and dry. The all you can eat (AYCE) did not include any sides. Worst of all, the grill was electric, and all of the meat took too long to cook, and wasn't able to get crispy. The beef brisket looks lab grown. I kid you not, our short rib took 15 minutes on high to cook. Worse of all, we sat underneath the AC and it started to drip from the ceilings to OUR FOOD. There was also a staff taking videos of folks in the restaurant without our consent (I get we enter a private establishment, but still ). First time at this location. Saturday night around 5:30/6 and it was about a 30 minute wait for a table of 3 for kbbq. Huge spot, long bar at the front and the music is pretty good. The wait time took FOREVER. We were told 35 mins and that turned into 2 hours. It was New Years Day--so the restaurant was packed. After getting seated however everything was smooth. Ordering the meats was no issue. I do wish there were more marinated options, but we figured out how to bring some flavors to the meats after a round. The rice was terrible though. Overcooked, dry. A pro tip is to ask for a big for your jackets so it doesn't smell like hotpot after! I came on a weeknight with some friends, and we were seated pretty immediately. Amazing flavor and the staff was very attentive. I like how I can cook my own meat unlike other places I've been to where I have to wait for them to cook for me. There was a good variety of meats/seafoods/vegetables/noodles on the menu for both. Ordered on a device. The food didn't take too long to come from ordering on the device and when we got it. There was also some hot food where the saices were such as fries and nuggets. The portions of the food was just right as you don't want to over order and can order more when you finish. Servers did come by to collect finished plates and refilled our cups with water (Loved that they had lemon and lime slices in their pitcher of water, perfect and refreshing for the summer!). What is up with this place?! Harassed by a photographer while we eat like we just rode a ride at an amusement park and it wasn't just one effing photo it was six. SIX! And then the had the gall to ask us WHILE WE WERE EATING to buy a picture in a crappy frame. Food was alright but the grills are so tiny. The men's bathroom had one sink and I guess the other sink was taking the night off and there was just a gaping hole in the counter where a sink should be. No soap in any of the dispensers in the actual bathroom except for watered down soap in a dispenser on the counter that didn't work. This was an awful experience. Great convenient spot for only $31.99 AYCE KBBQ dinner! Understandably this meant that even on a President's Day evening where we arrived at 8 pm, there was a 40 minute wait for our party of 4. Aside from the barbecued food, I only tried the popcorn chicken, and the ice cream, both of which were not bad but not notable either. They didn't charge us for keeping birthday pie slices in the fridge, and I'm very grateful to the team for letting us overstay our welcome. Though it's listed as closing at 10:30 pm, we were able to drag our feet until 11:20 pm and were never rushed at any point. Also to note: the free birthday meal is only on your actual birthday; otherwise, it's only 50% off during the birthday week. Compared to other hot pot that I've had, I'd say the quality is just okay, but good for the price. Some tips for a first timer, as we were quite confused and no one gave us any instruction: 1) When you walk in, you have to decide whether you want KBBQ, Hot Pot, or both. The whole table has to do the same thing. It's not much more to do both (like $5), but we opted for hot pot because we were confused and didn't know what to do. 2) There is a buffet in the back where you can get sauces and other things to supplement your meal. This is included. 3) For hot pot, each person gets their own soup, so make sure for everyone to select and order their own flavor. Came here on my birthday with a group of 5 for my birthday to try the bbq part out. To redeem your birthday discount, you must bring 3 paying guests in addition to yourself. The quality of the food was not bad. However, they put a plate on top an electric top for grilling the meats and it was very slow. Every piece of meat took at least 10-20 minutes to cook because of this and for a group of 5 there were a lot of lulls in eating. Additionally, there are a ton of flies inside just all over us and the food. Service was a whiplash most of the night. Sometimes it'd be really good and sometimes very slow. The venue itself is clean but nothing really stands out as like "ooo look at that" which isn't a bad thing if you are just there to eat and leave. The service was really good and attentive, the staff were always walking around so if you needed help with anything there was always someone to call. The food was good as well. We've definitely had better options at previous Korean bbqs but what we had was also good as well. The options are really limited if you go for lunch so maybe we would've had been selections during the dinner time which is on us. And it is fairly cheap for the amount you can get. DO NOT EAT HERE--HORRIBLE SERVICE & UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF! I had the absolute worst dining experience at K-Pot on Albee Square in Brooklyn, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. My partner and I arrived at 7:30 PM, put our names on the waitlist, and were told there were 17 parties ahead of us. Fine--it was date night, and we were willing to wait. An hour passed, and after checking in multiple times, we were finally notified that our table was ready. That's when the first red flag happened. We got to the front, only to see that the restaurant gave our table away to another couple who arrived AFTER us. When I pointed this out, the host acted nervous and suddenly said it would be "just five more minutes" (which obviously was a lie, considering our table had already been taken). No apology, no explanation--just blatant disorganization and disrespect for our time. Then came the REAL nightmare--one of the employees, named Dan. This man showed up to our table visibly intoxicated--either on drugs or alcohol, I have no idea, but his behavior was disturbing. He didn't introduce himself, made uncomfortable personal comments about my appearance, and then got aggressive and condescending when I adjusted the placement of my soup pot. He started mocking me, saying, "Oh, you wanna do my job for me? Go ahead, girl, do it yourself then," and continued to make sassy, sarcastic remarks every time he came back to our table. Mind you, I had never met this man in my life. When he returned later with more food, he randomly blurted out, "Oh my god, I'm so scared of you," in a weird, condescending tone. At this point, I had had enough and told him to leave our table. He continued to act unprofessional, invasive, and downright creepy throughout the meal. I flagged down a staff member to complain because his behavior made me deeply uncomfortable. Instead of addressing the situation properly, another rude and dismissive employee with a bad attitude came over and acted like I was the problem. The only person who showed an ounce of professionalism was our original server, Zian, who apologized and offered us a drink on the house (which we declined because we were disgusted by that point). To make things worse, when Dan was finally spoken to by staff, instead of apologizing, he walked right in front of our table, shot us a dirty look, turned his back, and blatantly ignored us. The so-called "manager" who came over was completely useless and seemed like she didn't care. No one took this complaint seriously. On top of all that, the overall service was atrocious. No one checked on us. No one changed our BBQ pan. The staff acted like they couldn't care less about the customers. We spent over $100 and left feeling disrespected, disgusted, and completely unheard. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. The lack of professionalism, disorganization, and outright rude behavior from the staff is beyond unacceptable. If management even remotely cares about their business, they need to take a serious look at the people they're hiring because this was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Probably the worst meal of my life. We came in at 10:50 PM on a Friday night. They close around 2 AM and after 10 something it's KBBQ only. We were given the tablet to order and submitted what we wanted. We got one dish and after 30 minutes we decided to ask our waitress if the order was coming. She then asked what we ordered and said that is usually sold out. We were a little confused why no one had told us it was sold out instead of letting us wait 30 minutes. After that she said she'll check if the dishes we wanted were available. 20 minutes later we got 2 plates of meat. We had put in an order for maybe 16 at this point. The grill was also just awful and took forever to cook even very thin slices also shutting off randomly. We asked if we could get the rest of our order and she said yes. We waited another 20 minutes and did not get anything. At this point she needed to go to the back herself to grab it. We got 3 more plates. At this point we had been at this restaurant for an hour and a half and barely received anything. I asked if the orders we were putting through to the iPad were being looked at. She replied saying we just need to tell her directly. It was getting ridiculous so I wanted to leave instead of wasting time. The grill was just taking so long and nothing was cooking, 5 pieces of beef belly would take 20 minutes to fully cook. She then came back and said they're sold out of everything else. The first problem was not letting us know of the delay and also letting us continuously order on the iPad when that didn't matter. We asked for the check and just wanted to leave. Suspicious coloring on the food pictured below as well, quality is questionable. Spent almost 2 hours at this restaurant and got maybe 1/5 of our order.
