Oh Krapil's, you've got so much potential and for the visit of me and my friends, you did not meet it. You can't have as extensive of a menu as you have and not excel on the all-you-can-eat Walleye fish dry. Yes, I said 'dry' because that's what all of the fish fry dinners were in my group, there was multiple. All over fried resulting in a dry and tough meal. Walleye is some of the best, if not THE best, fish to use for a fish fry; yet the cornmeal-ish breading which is over fried, resulted in the least flavorful and least exciting meal I've had in well over a couple of years. Don't get me wrong, the outdoor space is beautiful and spacious. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. The service was spotty; yet multiple instances in my group of the same AYCE fish fry with ALL being the same over fried and dry experience = it's going to be tough sell to get me and my crew to come back. Set a timer to ensure the fish is not over fried, pay attention to said timer, even get feedback from your customers to improve or even change your breading/batter. Our dinners were the black-eyes on the evening, of what otherwise was a great evening! Truly hope things improve in the kitchen. If I could describe this restaurant, I would say that it gives off "old school whisky bar that almost feels nostalgic." We came here for date night and I left feeling pretty satisfied in all areas! To start, our waitress was really funny. You could tell she had some (appropriate) sass, but she definitely fit the vibe of the place and it was fun! We had a great time. She gave her opinion on the food and let us know what she thought was best! We definitely trusted her judgement and we were not at all unsatisfied with what we ate. I asked for my burger to be medium rare and it came out perfect! The crispy onions with the BBQ sauce made for the perfect sweet/tangy mix. I wish I could remember the name because it's not on the online menu! But it was sooo good. We also had the pull apart bread with the marinara sauce and the salty to sweet ratio was actually perfect. While in search of a patio to take advantage of this beautiful weather we're having this week my aunt and mom suggested an early dinner here. As a party of 3 we arrived around 4:15pm on a Friday. The patio was pretty empty but we were sat at the smallest round high top table and immediately asked to move for a little more space. My aunt is 85 and uses a cane so the high top was slightly challenging for her but she wanted to enjoy the patio seating. The service was good. Our waitress was present and refilled drinks often. She was knowledgeable of the menu and checked in on us often. We got a variety of food and drinks from sharable appetizers, individual entrees, specialty cocktails and dessert. Garlic bread, shrimp cocktail, onion soup, salad, filet medallions, 8 oz filet, a chicken sandwich and the baked Alaska were all ordered. I myself am ironically not a beef, pork or fish eater so I went with the chicken sandwich special that was served with coleslaw, red onion and green apples. I asked for the slaw on the side and no red onions but was told they don't allow modifications on specials. Needless to say I still ordered it and was highly disappointed. The slaw made the bun soggy causing the sandwich to fall apart, I could taste the overpowering flavor of red onion and my fries were cold. My mom and aunt both got steak entrees and they had to get sent back to be re-cooked. The filet was rather dry and needed some au jus but luckily the juice from the side of mushrooms helped. The baked Alaska was a nice dessert it was just very frozen and even with marshmallow charring our waitress had a hard time cutting through so we had to wait for it to thaw out. The ambience was great and it did get extremely busy as they suggested. By the time we were leaving, there was a wait to get inside. Ambience- great Service- great Food- eh...a miss. We came on Valentine's Day and booked an early reservation to beat the crowd. This place his huge! They have a bar area with gaming machines and a dining area in back which looked a little fancier than the dining room off the patio we were seated in. We could see the patio area from our table which looked cool. Stage and lots of seating out there along with a tent I'm assuming may be a smoking area. I'll start by saying that the outdoor patio is fantastic. Now if only the food was equal. The prime rib was overcooked. The "all you care to eat" walleye was also tasty, but when asked for more fish, the waitress returned with a piece of walleye smaller than a deck of cards. The fries were also barely warm. The coconut shrimp was badly burnt, we should have sent all 3 plates back. The NewYork Prime was difficult to even cut so asked for a sharper knife, the next knife was just as dull. But at least the drinks and service was good, the food certainly wasn't worth the prices. Sunday family dinner at Krapil's Steakhouse in Worth was phenomenal. I've had their steaks before (always top-tier), but this time I switched it up and ordered the chicken Giardiniera and wow. Absolutely mouthwatering. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, and the Giardiniera brought the perfect balance of heat, tang, and flavor without overpowering the dish. It had that homemade, comforting feel but still steakhouse quality. Every bite was better than the last. Our whole table loved their meals, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was great as always Matt was awesome But that chicken giardiniera? Recently dined at Krapils . I have not been there for at least a year. I was disappointed. No moderate size aged steaks on the menu. The salad was the same as was the potato, cocktails good. But, any steak house that serves sour cream in a plastic cup disappoints me and does not seem professional and to me speaks volumes. The salad dressing also came in a plastic cup. The steak that I had was just OK. I am not sure that I will be back. A bit pricy for the quality. I do not eat out for steak very often, but the next time I will head to Jack Gibbon Garden.I do not mind paying good money for a good steak and I love aged, either wet or dry. We were able to walk in for dinner without any wait. There was live music---surprise! A nice crowd in the bar area. The server was great and food was delicious. The main course was great, although the peppercorn crust was a bit stronger than I anticipated. The absolute BEST part of the meal was the spumoni baked Alaska. In fact, we plan to go back just to have that and some cocktails. Our server, whom I shall not name, seemed a bit "off," and kept forgetting things. We ate in the dining room, because for October, it was too hot to eat outside. It gave the "supper club vibe," but what I will say is that it lacks a RELISH TRAY! We have enjoyed dinner at Krapil's and decided to bring our whole family of 12 for Mother's Day brunch. We had an 11:00 a.m. reservation. We were not admitted until 11:10 a.m. The server took our drink order, but the buffet was not ready until about 11:45 a.m. Even then, only a portion of the food was available. From 11:10 to 11:45 a.m. our server never visited our table. The meat was placed out after 12 noon and was undercooked. Our server did offer to cook it from very rare to medium. At 12:55 p.m. another server told us we needed to vacate the table. The restaurant was not even half full at that time. I understand there was a 1:00 p.m. seating, but given the wait time for the food and the availability of tables, it would have been nice if they gave us an extra 15 minutes. There was a small group waiting to be seated, but there was ample room in the restaurant. Most of the food was fine, but the service and wait were very disappointing, especially for the cost of $1000. I would not recommend Krapil's for brunch. read more

Went on a Sunday to watch football & have a burger at the bar. Walk in & half the bar has reserved signs. Find a spot in the corner & I ask the bartender why half the bar is reserved. She tells me they are regulars who spend a lot of money. 5 old people finally show up & proceed to drink water & order 1 appetizer in 3 hours. LOL I guess you don't need my money. She recommended a few martinis since I couldn't decide- I went with the espresso martini she recommended- and she was On point!!! Delicious. Good food but the very pricey. Went there Sunday expecting to have the baked shrimp scampi but was disappointed that they no longer have it on the menu. My only reason why I would go there to eat. Waiter said they changed the menu in January. So I took a chance and ordered the blackened grilled Pork Chops. Well I was not disappointed because they were delicious. Huge chops with a huge baked potato and a grilled onion. It was so much I ate only 1 of the Pork Chops and half the baked potato. Very disappointed in Krapils. I went there on Sunday for my birthday I don't go there too much because they raised their prices so high. I ordered my food and as I started to eat my salad I was informed they were out of pork chops, at 6:30 in a major steak place your out of pork chops, I had to settle for a prime rib sandwich that I did not even finish because it sucked. They said they would comp me a drink but I was already disappointed since the chops are the only thing worth eating there. I couldn't order pizza because it takes so long and my wife already ordered her food and I did not want her to eat alone. I wanted to treat my sisters who are twins for their birthday, so they decided on Krapil's Steakhouse. We started with drinks which were generous. A few minutes later our server was ready to take our order. We ordered the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom which was very good. One sister ordered a filet with Bearnaise Sauce. The waiter said the bearnaise sauce isn't ready and the chef is making a new batch. I ordered the 24 oz. Ribeye for two to split with my other sister with loaded potatoes. The ribeye was a disaster, starting with "fatty pieces" and a much thinner piece. We asked the waiter to replace it with the Filet for two instead, a few minutes later he brought out Filet, but our potatoes were cold by then and I asked him for two new loaded potatoes, it took only a few minutes. By the way, there was another reviewer that said the same thing about the Ribeye for two almost identical to my review. It seems they do certain things really well and some not so good. The loaded potatoes were a joke, they're not very "loaded" they put the cheese, bacon bits etc. on top of the potato and then it's under the broiler, it isn't opened like most other restaurants. It's not worth $3.00 extra. Our waiter never once asked if everything was OK besides when he served our food. We didn't see a busboy at all. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because my cocktail was generous, the Stuffed Portobello Mushroom we very good and our Filet was cooked to perfection. We asked the waiter when he brought the loaded potatoes about the Bearnaise Sauce and he said that the chef hasn't finished yet or some lame excuse, no apology at all. The Berniasse Sauce was supposed to accompany her Filet and she ordered the Large Shrimp and Asparagus was supposed to be with Bearnaise Sauce too. You would think when you spend almost $200.00 you should have gotten better service. read more

The atmosphere was very nice and our server lily anne was exceptional. She was very personable and gave great service! She took care of all our needs and was always nearby. She always checked on us but was not overwhelming. The food did not disappoint either and lily made sure my friend cut into his steak to make sure itwas done to his satisfaction and real bacon on his potato was an unexpected touch! I used to love coming to this steakhouse with my family, and we really enjoy the atmosphere--it's cozy and inviting, plus we love the live music, making it hard not to come back. However, our recent visits have been disappointing. The menu seems to change every time we're here, and not for the better. The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk. On our last visit, I was shocked to receive what looked like a child's serving of mashed potatoes, and the appetizers were served cold. Plus, the old garlic bread was way better than what we had this time. To make matters worse, my cousin was given a steak that had clearly been cut into by someone else at a nearby table (for being undercooked) This kind of service is unacceptable, especially for a place we once considered our go-to spot for family dinners. Dined in because of storms and heat outside and it was not busy at all! It was myself, husband and our 2 year old. They tried to cram us into a little corner booth with a booster seat, and I said well I requested a high chair and can we get a little more room since it's empty in here! So they accommodated but then all down hill from there! The server was spacey and got things with our order wrong(she admitted too) then the food was wrong, things took forever! And then we are waiting to pay and no one comes! So we literally had to get up to leave and pay at the check in at the door! The so called "manager" was very rude and took something off our bill but smirked and had a smartass tone the whole time! I have never experienced this service on the patio! Which shouldn't make a difference, I will never go to this establishment again and they should be ashamed of themselves of the service! Perhaps that's why there is always a "help wanted" sign up! It is with great regret that I post this review being that I've been going to this establishment for literally decades but the quality of the entertainment (Doctor X & the prescriptions) was possibly the WORST band I've seen in years and I'm in the business! The "doctor" should be sued for musical malpractice at the very least!! When I brought this very calmly to what seemed to be the woman in charge, she explained to me this was all she could afford with an extremely dismissive attitude with a slight hint of sarcasm!!!! I know several very good bands that play here but if they continue to hire more bands like this they should close up the bandstand and go back to cooking pizza!!
