The guy who put my original glaze donuts in my box grabbed my donuts with his gloved hands... but like i don't know if he changed his gloves prior to grabbing my donuts which I doubt he did Bc he rang me up and then I peaked over and saw him grabbing my donuts to put in the box. Reviewing something as sacred as Krispy Kreme with anything less than 5 stars feels sacrilegious but trust me: the donuts had nothing to do with it. Only knocking the perfect rating because of mess and lack of cleanliness in this particular location. The napkin/coffee station was yucky and the bathrooms were unusable. This was early on a Sunday evening and no one was in the store with us...it just appeared neglected. We had our perfect dozen glazed and my friends snagged a couple blueberry old fashioned + holiday chocolate w sprinkles too. They melt in your mouth! I'm not from the south originally, but Krispy Kreme definitely gives this part of the country doughnut bragging rights. We will definitely be back because that Hot Light is a magical magnet of deliciousness haha and hopefully the shop's cleanliness will reflect the quality of this famous brand a little better next time around. During my recent visit, I was greeted by an employee named Tareica Moore, and although this was a busy day at Krispy Kreme, she made sure to make eye contact with me and provided exceptional customer service. She was full of smiles and remained patient with me while I made my tough decisions on which doughnut flavors to order. Krispy Kreme is one of the best things about being in Charlotte. A few pro tips for the novice trying to get their hands on these jewels of the South: 1. Specialty flavors and anything *new* they're offering on the menu: if you're not getting them first thing in the morning, don't even bother because no one who patronizes KK is going for anything except the classic glazed yeast donuts. You'll be disappointed because they are going to be stale. You don't go to a burger place and order the fish. 2. If you are going to get any other type of donut, here are my personal power rankings of the donuts who aren't the original glazed: Raspberry filled is the BEST filled. The OGs with chocolate or strawberry frosting/sprinkles are GREAT for kids. If you want cake donuts, go to Dunk'n. 3. The closer you get to closing time, the less variety and more stale donuts you will encounter. Going to a place an hour before they close considering the process (and it's a long one if you've ever made yeast donuts from scratch) to make them shows folks that you don't care about what they have to do to make things happen, you just want the best possible service all the time, everytime. And unfortunately, dear reader, perfection all the time is an unrealistic expectation of ANYONE, including food service workers and yourself. The CEO of this company is NOT working harder than your local KK employee. TLDR: Don't order anything limited time unless they just opened. Stick with the classics. The only reason I gave it one more star is for the classic look on the inside. Other then that, they had no doughnuts and the ones that were there were cold and stale. The staff service was even worse, they didn't even know what doughnuts were stuffed with a flavor. Overall, this isn't even a place we're I would use the bathroom. read more

Always great donuts, we stopped here driving through the country. They were doing a commercial or a video shoot this particular day. The film crew was nice, the workers seemed to be having a bad day and not hospitable. Yummy in the tummy! This is not the flagship shop, but it feels like it. Doughnuts were warm and fresh and delicious. Rival to many desserts in town. Will have to walk back and forth at least twice to burn the calories, but it'll be worth it. Best jelly doughnuts in the world. And the Oreo doughnut is something else. The store is really nice, too--big, seating inside (when the time is right to sit inside w/o worry, it'll fill up), and a big variety of treats. read more

The floor was so sticky that my shoes stuck to the floor all across the waiting area in front of the display cases. We waited and waited while nobody came to any of the cash registers. They definitely saw us, but kept turning back to other tasks - one gal was wiping tables directly behind us and heard us asking one another where the employees were. A food delivery person was so frustrated waiting that she walked over to the window where two employees were frosting donuts and waved her phone at them, saying she was working and needed to get going. They did NOTHING. Eventually we waved down a woman by the other cash register and she WALKED AWAY. We finally said loud enough for her to hear that we needed SOMEBODY to wait on us. At that point two employees, the one directly behind us wiping tables, and another one doing who knows what over in a far corner of the store, (by the way, the donut maker machine was not cooking any donuts, so they were not overworked or busy) walked as slowly as possible towards the counter. The kind of slowly that is deliberate and defiant. They glared at each other, shuffled slowly by one other and stood at the counter pouting at us. The younger one mumbled something which we assume was asking which donuts we wanted. We gave her our order and then asked for ice cream, to which she said "the ice cream machine is broken". "Oh, that's why we came to this store, too bad", we said. She glared at us. After we paid and she gave us our donuts, she did not say thank you or have a nice day. I said it to her instead, but she said nothing. Great news, though. When we got home, our long awaited donuts that we endured rotten service and hostility, were a disappointment. Our chocolate glazed cream filled donuts literally had about one teaspoon of filling. The strawberry fireworks donut was filled with a lot of yummy strawberry cream. That must have been made by a happy shift worker from another day. Dirty store, broken machines, hostile employees more concerned with passive-aggressive work drama than customer service. Great way to ruin a Sunday morning when people are looking for a cheerful donut, a family tradition, after church. All I can say is, DUCK DONUTS FOREVER. I saw the reviews were bad before I walked in but decided to give it a chance anyway. This location is the worst KK I ever been to. They had me waiting 30 mins for hot donuts and then told me it would be another 30mins. This was during hot light hours. I did not stay pass 30 mins. The manager Wyatt would not communicate and sent his staff to do so. At one point, I heard them fighting over who was going to tell me. Wyatt would not compensate me for my loss time by giving me a few doughnuts. He didn't apologize, nothing. My time was wasted, I spent 30 mins in KK just to leave disappointed and without donuts. read more

Went on grand opening day yesterday. They did a great job of keeping people socially distanced both outside in line and inside with markers on the ground. Once inside we got to see through the clear glass the donut making process - how neat! The employees were working hard but still friendly and pleasant. Our cashier Jordan provided excellent customer service. She was efficient in checking people out and showed a positive, upbeat attitude throughout. read more

We came to this Kristy Kreme at 9:15pm on a Thursday night to grab a few donuts after dinner. We had a group of 4 that tried to walk into the store to pick out our donuts and were stopped after walking in by one of the workers who was already mopping the floors (the store closes at 10pm). We asked if they were closing early, and she proceeded to ask us how many donuts we wanted and told us only one person could select donuts for our group. Which is very odd because we would have liked to have all purchased donuts separately. Also, the rest of us couldn't see what donuts they had available to choose from because we couldn't go past the entrance. One person in our party had to yell at us across the store to see what everyone wanted and let us know what they had available. I would highly recommend better customer service moving forward - especially when there is still close to an hour left until closing and there is almost a full display of donuts left to sell. read more
