Let's start off with the positive, somewhat. The lady serving the doughnuts was a very nice lady. Sadly she spoke zero English. While they are open 24/7 I HIGHLY recommend that you do not even try to get a fresh doughnut after 5:00 p.m. I was craving a doughnut and remember fresh doughnuts were always available. The case at best had 15 doughnuts at best. This was about 10:00 p.m. and not only were they not fresh, they wanted full price for them. If you are the owner of this shop, I highly recommend you close your doors after 5:00 p.m. or mark your doughnuts down to 2 for 1 or just toss them. I've given you two (2) stars! One for the very nice lady, and the other as your shop was and smelled very clean. As for the other three (3) stars you are going to have to do a much better job. I'm a very fair reviewer and will go back another evening in the future and see if anything has changed. read more

I loved that they had coconut coated donuts. First, I recently noticed they started putting less coconut on them. Now this morning I drove out of my way to go there and there are no coconut donuts. Consistency is key. It's the reason why we stopped going to this location a couple years ago they just stopped making coconut donuts all the sudden. read more

Upon arriving I was treated almost immediately! The girl behind the counter was quick and very helpful I was about to pay when I forgot that I wanted a coffee too without hesitation she went back and knocked it out while other customers were waiting, I love this place as you can see my son does too as he didn't wait for me to take a picture of the doughnuts I got. I've tried Winchell's donuts at this specific location three times now. All three times the different donut options were just OK. They definitely did not seem to be on the fresher side. I'm glad to see that this facility is open so late however, that should still mean having fresh donuts. The owner is extremely sweet along with the staff. We stopped by here while getting Filipino food next door at Mengs. What a gem this one is. I'm always iffy on eating at places that are 24 hours because of quality issues, but this place was great. We got some bagel sandwiches for the next morning and some donuts. I got a chocolate donut with peanuts on top and to my surprise, there was a mix of peanut butter and chocolate flavoring, which was awesome! I'd never had anything like it before. There was a bit of a language barrier as I couldn't really understand the clerk up front as I told her what I wanted on my sandwhich, but everything is really good. Visiting PS from NorCal. Can't believe we found a Winchell's, honestly thought they had all closed down.. We were heading back to our hotel late night and happened upon this delightful donut shop and if course had to stop for some doughnuts! Entering and smelling a Winchell's, I was immediately taken back to my childhood. A cute little lady greeted us and we each ordered our favorites... a chocolate old fashioned, a maple bar, and a chocolate glazed. Despite being the very end of the day, so these doughnuts were "not fresh", they were still delicious and yummy and we savored every bite! Only down side, it's kinda in a sketch part of town. If we ever return to Palm Springs, we'll definitely hit up this place again! read more

" Have Not Seen A Winchell's In Years " My wife and I went to visit the Winchell's Donut Shop is located in the Cathedral City Marketplace shopping center. I had gone to the Food For Less in that same shopping center and when I was leaving I saw the Winchell's Donut Shop. We use to have a lot of them in the San Diego area but now we only have 3 left, and all three are a long drive away from us. We entered the shop and were nicely greeted by the only employee Cecilia Castellanos. Cecilia was very nice as she answered all of our questions about the different Donut options. I only really ever go for the chillas and customer service. Lady there is super nice. I rarely go but the lady always seems to remember me and we always strike up a conversation. She is so super sweet and makes these very perfectly. read more

Have not been to a Winchell's for years since they all closed in the PNW. Went in late and the selection was sparse, but the best donut I recall having was the chocolate with sprinkles and it brought back memories upon eating it. Great donut! The elderly lady working was a true delight, and her customer service was some of the best I have ever had. The donuts were great but the service even better. A great stop for a quick donut at anytime! read more

Came in a few weeks ago and paid close to $13 for 8 donuts and a bag of donut holes. Today, we went in for the dozen which adds two free to the mix. Fritters, Jelly, Cinnamon Rolls, Maple Bars, Twists and so on. Everything that we tried so far was FRESH and all for $9.99. Such a deal. Very good counter service as well. No one was in there and this store is in the Food 4 Less center. read more

Younger person there has a smart mouth in front of her friends sitting therewith their kids. She doesn't know how to give change and when questioned told me i had a funny way of doing it. Told her I've been in business over 20 years. All I got was a snooty attitude, lots of I don't care and my bag tossed at me. Breakfast croissants and sandwiches are so yummy. Donuts were good, the kids liked them. The girl that works there alone works so hard and does a great job!! The lady behind the counter was very friendly and professional. I don't know if this store gets a lot of business; we were the only ones there for like 45 minutes. There were not many donuts available, but there was a good variety of offerings amongst those they did have (twists, bars, donut holes, and most of the standard ones). I remember the old Winchell's - they had racks full of donuts, and coffee and sandwiches. Now, they're down to "trays of donuts" and have transitioned their sandwiches from bread sandwiches to bagel sandwiches. The prices were very reasonable, although my friend got a coffee drink that was apparently not very good and it was $4. They also sell bagels individually and by the dozen, which I was unaware of. I would have gotten donuts but we ate at the Filipino resto next door and were stuffed. I always ranked Winchell's a cut above Dunkin Donuts and nowadays, Dunkin is such a disappointment. Their focus seems to be almost completely off donuts and has moved towards coffee drinks and sandwiches. I'm glad Winchell's is still going. I wish there were more of them in SoCal. They were huge in Oregon, competing neck and neck with Dunkin for many many years. read more
