    Half dozen minus one

Upon arriving I was treated almost immediately! The girl behind the counter was quick and very helpful I was about to pay when I forgot that I wanted a coffee too without hesitation she went back and knocked it out while other customers were waiting, I love this place as you can see my son does too as he didn't wait for me to take a picture of the doughnuts I got. So good definitely coming back again !!

We stopped by here while getting Filipino food next door at Mengs. What a gem this one is. I'm always iffy on eating at places that are 24 hours because of quality issues, but this place was great. We got some bagel sandwiches for the next morning and some donuts. I got a chocolate donut with peanuts on top and to my surprise, there was a mix of peanut butter and chocolate flavoring, which was awesome! I'd never had anything like it before. There was a bit of a language barrier as I couldn't really understand the clerk up front as I told her what I wanted on my sandwhich, but everything is really good. I don't often find a really good donut and sandwhich shop and this really hit the spot.

" Have Not Seen A Winchell's In Years " My wife and I went to visit the Winchell's Donut Shop is located in the Cathedral City Marketplace shopping center. I had gone to the Food For Less in that same shopping center and when I was leaving I saw the Winchell's Donut Shop. We use to have a lot of them in the San Diego area but now we only have 3 left, and all three are a long drive away from us. We entered the shop and were nicely greeted by the only employee Cecilia Castellanos. Cecilia was very nice as she answered all of our questions about the different Donut options. And as we remembered the doughnuts were very tasty and good.

I only really ever go for the chillas and customer service. Lady there is super nice. I rarely go but the lady always seems to remember me and we always strike up a conversation. She is so super sweet and makes these very perfectly.

It's about a 12min drive west of I-10, located in a small business park strip mall. It's absolutely worth the diversion. They have a small section with groceries, and a larger area with refrigerated goods. I tried El Cubano (no tomato, no cabbage), Potato Salad, and Key Lime Parfait. El Cubano was actually delicious. Their thinly sliced and seasoned seitan was perfect, as was the accompanying sauces and toasted bread. I'd order this on repeat if I lived nearby. I was surprised by how great the potato salad was. It had the perfect mayo/mustard balance, which is extremely difficult to find. I need a gallon of this. The key lime parfait was ok. I expected more (in terms of flavor, not quantity), but it was not bad. I've just had much better so I wouldn't order it again. I'd be willing to try a different dessert next time. It was gluten free so that's a plus! There were many other things on the menu that caught my eye, but I only have one tummy. If we'd had a cooler I would've grabbed some tuNo salad, Egg-y salad, smoked chick'n & pasta, and CTK tempeh pâté from their refrigerated section, because everything looked delicious. But now I have the perfect excuse to return to CTK on my next PHX-LAX drive.

I also love their little store section with the faux meats, seasonings, and merchandise. I ordered the bowl of chili, the Chupacabra sandwich and the Guadalajara burger. The chili was so flavorful and I enjoyed learning that they use Rancho Gordo beans. The Guadalajara burger had great toppings but as much as I try, I'm not the biggest fan of Tempeh. The chupacabra sandwich was good, the menu said that the 'chicken' is thinly sliced, I didn't realize just how thin it is. I think I would have preferred if it were slightly thicker and less cabbage. There was so much cabbage that it overpowered the rest of the sandwich. Overall, I think this place is a gem and I'd like to try their other menu items.

It was close to end of day so I was quick to browse the offerings before placing my sandwich order. Ended up getting a Caprese and Parma on focaccia. The staff seemed preoccupied with Cleaning but did their best to get my sandwich order out fast. I've heard nothing but good things about this place but this is my first time. I asked the lady behind the counter for a popular favorite recommendation and she seemed confused and just said everything was good. Two sandwiches around $40 so I was hoping for something great. Unfortunately we agreed that the taste was good, but nothing amazing and probably not what we were expecting for the price. Everything fell just a little bit flat. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. I ended up drizzling balsamic vinegar on the Caprese at home since they only put olive oil and a little bit of pesto on the bread and the whole thing just felt lacking ever so slightly. The shop itself was clean and well kept and had a lot to offer so I still recommend stopping by and browsing for Italian goodies. Just not my favorite sandwich spot. Maybe we will try something else another day or just stick to the pasta!

The tastes are bright and full of flavor. The peanut sauce was a hit for the spring rolls and I had both fish sauce and ginger sauce. The fish sauce is to liquid to really cling but what flavor. The ginger has a superb front taste and an ending that brings the heat. Ingredients are totally fresh and quality. Servings are plentiful and prices are reasonable. You start off wanting cake but once you walk inside to the glass displays, you want everything. That's just me, lol... Besides having a meal, their dessert counter is full of amazing fresh cakes and pastries. I've never picked up a slice to go as most of the time were alway full before even making it to dessert. But lately it's a whole cake for an event ordered from here which is always delicious and amazing. This day, a slice was in the mind. Start of the week, the place was pretty mellow and quiet. Patio seating was basically emptied as it's hot and humid out. Misters were on but everyone was inside. I've been picking up the whole lemon cake for events and it's a crowd pleaser. But this time, something else looked amazing. I actually went with a slice of their blueberry cake. Honest opinion, it looked amazing. The flavors are quite nice but between that and the lemon, lemon takes the trophy. They're both great and delicious, but something about the lemon just hits the right notes. The flavors with the cakes and cream just works. Regardless what cakes or pastries you choose, they're all great. Portions are quite massive and decent priced. We were greeted in French as we walked in and we were immediately transported back to Europe. We took a little time to glance at their menu and decided to pick up a few items. We sat in one of the tables and it allowed us to take our sweet time as the cafe went through its hustle and bustle. As we sat there, we got to observe who we believe is the owner of the cafe. She was very friendly and had a conversation with every single customer, not just your typical hi and hello. She also had a great humor, joking around with customers asking for the code for the bathroom. It was very refreshing to see someone truly enjoy conversing with strangers and making life fun. I digress, but back to their food. Their pistachio croissant was very buttery and had a good bite to it. We also fell in love with their affogato. Not sure whether because of the gelato or their coffee, but it was probably one of the best affogatos we've had. We also decided to order a sandwich to go for lunch. We got the Italian tuna sandwich which we thoroughly enjoyed later in the day. We also took a stracciatella gelato home and really enjoyed the gelato they served. The owner told us the brand of the gelato because we really enjoyed it. Truly one of the best find!
