I was in the store one evening in May 2022 at 7:50 pm Katherine (in picture) and two other employees refused to make ice cream/blizzards for the remaining customers (8 or so people including children) that were in the store. I have worked a long time and know that it is a law that you have to allow patrons in until the posted time for your establishment and serve them. I along with two other families were refused service. I understand these teenagers wanted to go home however I am a paying customer that stood in line for 10 minutes and still didn't get served. Katherine informed us that at 8 pm she would not be helping us and we had to leave because they were locking up. She also went so far as to tell us that the system locks at 8 pm and they cannot operate the cash registers. Yes, it is just ice cream, however, it was childish, rude, and unprofessional and having eaten at this store for 20 years I was disappointed at the treatment we received. I can say unless I know that things have improved I will not return and will make sure to spread the word about the horrible service here. In the past 9 months since this incident, I have been in the strip mall about 10 times and have driven to Vons and 7-11 instead of getting a treat at this venue. All of the staff here are teens in high school so it always makes sense to me when I place an order and then I go to pick it up and it was not even started LOL. Look, I get it. I was a teen working at an ice cream shop once, always so distracted I guess...Point it, I love my Dairy Queen, I love my custom blizzards I get to create and I always leave with my order at the end of the day...even if I have to wait 10-15 minutes for 1 blizzard. I will give them props, they are very friendly so that is a plus!! The place is clean, it's always nice and cool inside. This is seriously the best DQ location. I love that it's a place where local kids work. Despite being young, they are efficient and make really good blizzards and treats. I wish I could give less than 1 star. When I arrived at the store, I was not acknowledged, even though there was two girls taking orders. They assumed that I had already ordered, and I had to ask if I could place an order. The girl that took my order was named Brooklyn. I ordered a mocha shake and the girl making the drink had no clue what she was doing. Brooklyn had to tell her what exactly I wanted so I guess that was when she realized she didn't make the shake correctly. The first time she made the shake she was blending it and realized she made a mistake along while causing a crack in the cup, so she decided to remake the drink again, stopped and stared at it a few times and continued making the drink, caused another crack in the cup and handed it to me while it was spilling out of the sides and decided to give me another cup to put over it. It took her two attempts to make the drink and she failed both times. I didn't get a chance to come around to drink the shake until I was already on the freeway and realized the drink was super bitter and disgusting. She clearly again missed a few toppings and the most important topping which was the "Chocolate" being as a ordered a "Mocha Shake". She added too much coffee it seems or something because the drink was so bitter. I buy this shake three times a week so I know exactly what it's supposed to taste like and let me just say she failed terribly. You would think she would get it right the second time around. I called to address the situation on the phone and was very nice about the whole situation and spoke to Brooklyn who answered the phone and stated she was the one that took my order and put me on hold so she can take my number down and have a manager contact me back regarding this mistake. After waiting on hold for about five minutes, Horrible Hailey comes on the line berating me and belittling me when I told her the drink was made incorrectly. She told me the only thing they could do was offer me a refund and if I wanted a refund, I would need to come back to the store. I told her that I don't live in the area and she told me she would not reimburse me unless she was able to get the drink back. She told me she would not take the shake back if it was already consumed. Keep in mind I had already addressed this with Brooklyn and with Haley that I was not going to drink the shake because it was bitter and disgusting so she said and I quote "oh well, you did take a sip from it so therefore, since you did that we can't take it back." I then proceeded to tell her how would I have known the drink was made incorrectly if I didn't get a chance to taste it. She started being condescending and had that I don't care attitude and told me there is nothing you could do about it . I then asked her if she was the manager and she told me no, so I said I was on hold to have taken down by Brooklyn so she can forward that to the manager who was supposed to contact me today to and she kept refusing to take my number down until I had to insist for her to have my number taken down to have a manager contact me. I am still waiting on a phone call from a manager and have not heard back from anybody from this location. I already had a feeling that I wouldn't be getting a phone call back, and that Haley wouldn't be forwarding this to the manager being as she was so mean and vicious and rude about the whole situation. Mind you I come there at least three times a month so I'm very aware of who Hailey is and I can say that every time I have been there Hailey always has a nasty attitude towards her customers. I've even heard customers complain about her. Hailey, if you are reading this, you are one nasty vicious little girl and you need to grow up. I'm hoping that a manager will see this message and especially address Hailey for her mean spirit and terrible attitude. I've seen all of the commercials for the delicious treats at DQ but never had the opportunity to try it for myself until today. My parents had owned a Foster's Freeze many years ago and I was dying to see how it compared to the novelties that I grew up with. My friend works for the Girl Scouts and recommended that we give their thin mint blizzard a try. The photo of the dessert advertises the green mintiness but it arrived as sort of a black and white shake. It wasn't until we got to the bottom that we realized that the mint syrup had not been properly mixed into the sweet treat. However, it tasted pretty good and had a nice variety of textures with the chunks of thin mint cookies throughout. While the treats were tastier when I was growing up, the offerings at DQ aren't half bad. Smooth, rich, and creamy, the blizzard was a nice dessert to enjoy while getting out of the blazing three digit temperatures outside. My grandsons and I were enjoying a yummy afterschool treat and I noticed this woman with a child ask the girl at the counter if they had a restroom so she could change her child's wet pants. The girl told her no we don't have any public restrooms here. Then, the woman asked the employee if she could change her child right there in the KITCHEN! THE KITCHEN! The employee let this woman change her child inside the front door of the kitchen! Only way I know she did is because we were sitting in the booth directly across from this door. Ummm excuse me, people prep food in that area. Not only is it unsanitary to do this but it could also be a safety for both the customer and the employee. So parents, please change your child inside of your car if there isn't a restroom to do so. I think I honestly was in shock. Maybe the employee didn't know better?
