They now have some fugaze AI scanning at the self checkout which supposedly detects if you are trying to bag something without scanning. This is our regular grocery store and it is at least the second time this has happened. The manager harassed our family for buying "too many" drinks. He yelled at my mom and threatened to call the police. They were not on sale and there was no limit advertised or written anywhere. My mother and I (who are both white women) do not appreciate Chepe's attitude towards us in the self checkout line. Every time we go shopping at this store and have an issue at the self-checkout, he treats us like he has no respect for us. He argues with us when we bring up the current promotions and says that we're wrong when it's clearly advertised. He also treats us like we're thieves when the cash register malfunctions. I've noticed that he's nice to everyone else, every other race and gender, but it seems like he's really condescending and has an attitude with us white women for some reason. We're very sick of him arguing with us every time we come across him at this store. Grocery shopping should not always be an argument, but he sure makes it one with us every time!! Am super impressed with the curbside delivery in this Kroger. I have been here thrice in the last few days. Online ordering thru the Kroger App is a breeze. They give you the option to decline a substitute for products as you place the order. The ability to use online coupons is made easy as well. The are plenty of date and time options for the pickup. Once the order is complete, you have an option to edit your order within a timeline limit that the app specifies. Once you reach the store for the pick up, you park in the dedicated spots for curbside pick up. You check into the app and select the parking spot number. Delivery to the vehicle took under 3 minutes in all 3 instances. The delivery is completely no-contact and the employees are very friendly and helpful. I hope Kroger continues to maintain the same standards. read more

Multiple associates at the store tried to deny purchase of ice because I was purchasing a larger than average amount. Arbitrary quantity caps were set only for me despite there being no signage or notice limiting the number of items that could be purchased. With any other product there are not limits placed unless explicitly stated via signage, ice should be no different. Even after agreeing with the manager on how many bags of ice I would be purchasing the self checkout associates refused to override quantity errors. Refusing to sell items to a customer seems like a terrible business practice and I would gladly continue to take my business to Tom Thumb who does not impose arbitrary limits based on individual associate or manager feelings. In addition, I would like to note that the store had an adequate amount of ice well beyond what I was purchasing and was getting another shipment on the coming Monday. read more

I hate coming to Kroger and being accosted by annoying salesguys. Last time it was a couple of Spectrum sales reps, today a guy and a girl from Just Energy would not let me go. Large inventory and great selection of products and goods, fresh fruits and vegetables at great prices compared to other local groceries, i try to avoid coming here on weekends because parking can be difficult and heavy flow of traffic but this grocery store is very nice and worth a stop if your in the area. read more

I must highly caveat this review. The 4 star rating is largely due to the dismal state of it's sister store just a few miles south on MacArthur. Call it the contrast effect, or simply appreciating having a functional Kroger's nearby, in any case. This Kroger is exactly what Kroger has been historically and should be going forwards. It's a clean place to shop, that has all of your staple items in stock, with just enough employees to keep things operational. It's not as big as the larger Kroger's off the 635, and sadly has a smaller arsenal of goods to choose from, but it's far less crowded and provides better service relatively speaking. One "signature item" I've really been enjoying lately is the Private Selection Wild Caught Argentinean Red Raw X Large Ez Peel Shrimp. At around $9.99 a lb (frozen), they're some of the best shrimp you can get for the money. This particular location also has a selection of thinly sliced Italian cold cuts at the cheese station by Veroni. I believe they have Prosciutto, Mortadella, and Salami. There are some things that are vexatious though. Most wines over $45 reside in these locked coolers. In order to access them you will need to summon some sort of wine concierge, who then chaperones you to the registers after making your selection. Also they do not carry the full line of Boar's Head cold cuts in the deli. They are missing the head cheese, Stressburger Liverwurst, 1st Cut Corned Beef & Pastrami, and quite a few others. They only keep a rather basic assortment in tow. Overall it's a great alternative to the other options in the immediate vicinity, though it still leaves a lot to be desired. I would call it a pleasant relic of the vanilla origins of American grocers, but a lot of times that's exactly what I'm looking for. read more

I love the aerobic exercise I get while waving my arms for help checking out wine or some vegetable not correctly entered in the database. I look like a man marooned on an desert island, desperately flagging down a far off ship. Let me suggest having a cocktail or two and doubling-up on your blood-pressure medications before shopping at this Kroger if you plan on using coupons or taking advantage of any advertised specials. The "specially" priced product is placed next to very-NOT-specially priced product usually with a very slight difference in packaging. The flyer may or may not fully describe the brand, packaging, and quantity on sale, if at all.....kind of like a grocery store game show....from hell. The icing on the cake is when the coupons (digital or paper) don't reconcile with the database and you have to call the Kroger High-Sherriff over who may or may not have a clue of what's on sale or the required flaming circus hoops a customer must successfully leap through in order to score the "special" pricing. Did I mention it seems like a grocery store game show from hell? Finally, if a Kroger employee is checking you out, the random-number-generator they call a check out scanning machine has a 0% chance of getting the pricing correct. NEVAH GONNA HAPPEN. At all costs, avoid the customer service desk to reconcile the multitude random, erroneously priced items. Dump the incorrectly priced items and order take out. read more

Sheriden, the decorator in the Bakery did such a wonderful job on my son's cake (see picture of USAF cake). Since I was flying in from CT to surprise my son and family before he broke the news that he had sworn into the USAF, I could only give a brief idea as to what type decoration I was seeking. Sheriden took my very brief input (USAF insignia, blue & red colors, and freedom to add her flavor of design) and wow, what a good looking cake and very tasty as well. This is one of the better Kroger stores in which I've been. I like how they have more organic variety than other locations and their sushi is more fresh. This is my go-to for grocery shopping. Recently renovated (makes some things harder to find, but will learn the new system soon). New sushi bar, olive bar, and cheese center...fancy! The deli counter service is excellent, however there is usually a line. The quality of customer service makes up for the time. Best beer selection in town, competes with all the local stores with craft, microbrews, and the occasional exotic brew which makes this an essential stop before the weekend begins. My favorite quick pick: is the shrimp cocktail to go (24 pieces with spicy sauce) affordable, quick, and light. read more

Love Kroger, but had a hellish visit there today. Used self-checkout as I didn't have a lot of items, and didn't want to deal with employees after the super long day I had. As I was paying and ready to leave, an employee went through ALL of my items and made me pay TWICE for some of them because he said I didn't scan everything, even though all items I scanned were clearly and correctly shown on the checkout monitor. Don't know what entitled stick got in his a$$, but my god. Stealing from a customer is just wrong. He's lucky I was in a hurry and most of my items were cheap. I like this store because its always clean, their produce is always fresh, and their meat department always has specials on end date items. Be sure to get a Kroger card though so you can get the full discounts. $100 spent in a month will get you 100 Kroger points, good for up to $0.10 off per gallon at the local Shell stations. read more

They offer a good selection of produce, meats, natural foods, and pretty good sushi. We prefer this grocery store to others in the area. Love the manager's specials. The check-out employees are my biggest complaint. If you're going to close check out lanes, at least have someone available to help at the self check out. In fact, why ONLY have self check out lanes at certain times? If I wanted to feel like I'm at a Walmart, I'd go there to shop. Instead I shop here and expect better customer service. I've been with certain employees who are just soooo unfriendly and clearly hate being there. Do them a favor and let them go. Some are nice, helpful, and speedy. Those are your keepers! read more
