One of my favorite Thai places in Vegas. The food is always delicious and fresh. Their Crab Rangoons are made with real crab meat and aren't just all cream cheese. My go to is the yellow curry and it is consistently flavorful. The Holy Crab Fried Rice is also flavorful and worth the price. The portion is enormous. I took away a star because the service is SLOW every time I've been there whether its busy or not. We decided to return after I saw on Instagram that they were doing dollar oysters starting at 5 PM till they close which is 1145 pm Upon entering, we were the only people in the establishment there was no other table tables so we were sat right away now to get the dollar oysters you had to spend at least $16 per person which is not a problem at this time another person came in and sat down and three other people ended up joining this person I guess they ordered 36 oysters .... I'm gonna assume she was the only person working because she was extremely slow to come back to our table. Here's why I got frazzled because we did specifically tell her that we wanted oysters but instead of coming back and telling us that they were out of oysters, she just put in the drinks and the appetizers never informing us that the oysters were no longer available so we didn't wanna eat there anymore because that's not what we originally came for we were gonna order apps the oysters and main entrees which one she told us that we said OK well we don't wanna eat her anymore because that's not what we came Luckily, after going some back-and-forth, we were allowed to leave because we did not want to eat there anymore. Also while we were sitting there waiting for her to come back to our table a few groups of people came in and they were not greeted or seated so they all left I don't know if we'll go back. Our first time at Krok. We tried our go to classics and a new one. We had Wagyu blanket, a strip of Wagyu with shrimp eggs and sauce over a dab of rice. The Wagyu was very melt in your mouth with good flavor. The crab rice had a good amount of crab. The drunken noodle with chicken was also very good. We had is beef jerky for our appetizer. And to wash it all down we had Thai tea and Thai coffee. Krok is a solid 4 for us. I'd like to try the papaya salad and mango sticky rice and pad see ew. Service was great, staff are kind. We've been coming to Krok for a while, and the food has always been consistently delicious. This visit we ordered the crispy pork, beef panang curry, chicken satay, and pad thai--everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The crispy pork was crispy on the outside and tender inside, the Panang curry was rich and creamy, the chicken satay was juicy with a delicious peanut sauce, and the pad thai was well-balanced and full of flavor. Wow. I was not sure what to expect here but it has secured entry into the must stop by to try out places in Las Vegas. We ordered the crab fried rice and it was delicious. How do they make their crab so fluffy tasty? It's so soft and flavorful. We also got the beef rib panang curry. I thought it would include the bone based on the pictures so was a little concerned when it didn't but regardless it tasted wonderful. The curry is unique and flavorful and the beef was super tender. I would say there were some pieces with too much fat on it but I was willing to forgive it. We also got fried tofu and it's good but I wouldn't say it's a must order or different than other places. Came in on a Saturday evening, they were very busy. Lots of tables for big parties, music was low enough that chatting was easy. We were served by Peter, met the Chef TK and Owner Nitty. We had the Thai Basil with Pork, Tom Kha, Papaya Salad, Fried Tofu and the Mango Sticky Rice as dessert. Everything was phenomenal, the soup was creamy, the papaya salad was fresh, basil pork was fragrant, the mango sticky rice was a good portion, good amount of coconut milk, rice and mango, and it was nice and warm as it should be. The service was a little slow and the waitress was kind of rude, but it was around 12 am so she was probably just tired. Also this place is on the pricier side! Now let's talk about the food because the pad thai was AMAZING. Like out of this world. They cook it super saucy with the perfect balance of flavors and it was easily the best thing we ordered. Naturally, I ordered an espresso martini (my all time favorite). It had a salty flavor with a coconut crème floater that just didn't work! Definitely not a connoisseur's dream martini.....And not one I'd order again. Unfortunately, this wasn't a win. For food, we ordered the combo Pad Thai & Shrimp Chow Mein. The Pad Thai tasted super fresh, which I really enjoyed, but I would skip the steak next time as mine was very tough and chewy. On the flip side- Hubs absolutely loved his shrimp Chow Mein! It was a happening place when we entered, very lively and had a fun vibe right away. Very good attentive service where they clarified multiple times about food allergies. Every staff member seemed super nice when they interacted with us. Overall the food was good! More like a 3.4ish... I came here to celebrate my bfs bday and we opted to do some lunch special items and the chef special from the regular menu. The person serving us looked like she did not want to be there. No smile and was not attentive. It seemed like she was the only one working though. Food overall was okay. Pad Thai lunch special 6/10 (no bean sprouts and peanuts on the side) the pad Thai needed a bit more tang to it. It was more on the sweeter side. The noodles were chewy how I liked it and the chicken wasn't dry which was good. I just felt like it was missing some tang to it. It almost tasted a bit too tomato-ey. Penang curry 6/10: the curry itself was great! Flavorful and creamy. However the brisket was not as soft as I expected it to be. This dish was one of the premium lunch specials so it was $20 instead of $15. So I think I had higher expectations when it came to the meat quality. I think it should be boiled a bit more to reach its full tenderness potential. Krok cajete 7.5/10: I personally enjoyed this dish. It's a rendition of guac. They put a fish-sauce base dressing which gave it an umami taste. Both sweet, savory, and fresh. However this dish was abour $27 so I would've expected more crab meat. I didn't rly taste it tbh. This dish was made tableside which was cool but again, the girl that was serving us didn't rly look happy so it kinda made the mood weird. Another thing is that it came when we finished both our entrees so we were pretty full. This is suppose to be appetizer dish so I would expect it to come first. We were about to cancel the dish since we had already finished our food but she said she already had it prepared in the back. Again service should be worked on since it looked like she was drowning the whole time... not good vibes. Overall food is not bad but the service can be worked on, especially if she knew I came to celebrate a bday. At the front of the store, there was a BOGO appetizer deal being advertised but when we asked it was only weekdays. Felt that it could be just put on the banner as well. They are doing a promo of free soda or Thai tea if you left a Google review. My friend got the Thai basil chicken and egg roll. I got the crying tiger steak and Thai tea. The crying tiger steak is a bit overcooked since I asked for medium rare. The tamarind sauce was a bit gloopy and sweet. The Thai tea was way too sweet and tea wasn't that strong. That said, the flavors were incredible. - Braised Beef Brisket Panang Curry ($24.95): Panang curry always hits. Thick, creamy, and mildly spicy. It had a rich coconut milk base and a nutty flavor. Krok's Panang curry offers a complex balance of sweet and salty notes.The crushed peanuts contribute a rich, savory depth. And the braised beef brisket? Tender! We were there half hour before closing and they took us in and we got the yummy hot wonton soup with a side of the potstickers. The soup was so comforting and the wontons were filled ground chicken and ginger and spices . The soup had a nice clean and clear broth not heavy, as it should be and we ordered it with no spice but you can order at any spicy level. The service and our waitresses were so down to earth. They had live music with singers singing classic chill songs with a gentleman playing guitar. I asked them to sing More Than Words from Extreme and all the patrons in the restaurant sang together. It was an amazing experience! The menu has a creative twist with thai inspired tapas. A must try with some of there creative cocktails. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame and it's addictive! It's sautéed to the perfect tenderness and has a great punch of garlicky goodness! We ordered the Drunken Noodle and we chose a medium spice level which was perfect for the flavor. The dish is bold, aromatic, and loaded with tender noodles and stir fried herbs and veggies. We also had the Red Curry and it is perfectly balanced with red chili, coconut milk, and basil. The flavors, service, and ambiance stand out to me.
