Krok!!!!!! Love that they are open late night! Such an amazing and fun vibe when we walked in. The decor was fun and modern. The menu options are so yummy. We were there half hour before closing and they took us in and we got the yummy hot wonton soup with a side of the potstickers. The soup was so comforting and the wontons were filled ground chicken and ginger and spices . The soup had a nice clean and clear broth not heavy, as it should be and we ordered it with no spice but you can order at any spicy level. The service and our waitresses were so down to earth. They had live music with singers singing classic chill songs with a gentleman playing guitar. I asked them to sing More Than Words from Extreme and all the patrons in the restaurant sang together. I think we missed the lunch rush which was perfect. Inside is nice and clean. Service was quick. They serve you fish chips on the house, 10/10. Love the seasoning they throw on there, I could eat a whole bowl. We ordered the spring rolls, beef basil (pad kra pao), and nam tok. All the dishes were solid. I will say their spice levels were a bit weak. I was worried it would be too spicy which I wasn't in the mood for and went with a 2/5 for the nam tok, and it was too mild for me. Krok Thai was such a great experience. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the trendy vibe and appreciate how clean and inviting the space is. Nice innovated item that has hidden noodles on the bottom with lots of flavor. Thai guac was good but wished there was some Thai chilis in there for a little kick. Had to wait on the hot sauce to enjoy it more Service was lacking and not checked up on enough or received items in a timely manner. Had to get their attention several times and asked for hot sauce 3 times. After watching the curry and guac being made tableside and finished eating it, had to ask for our forgotten dish twice - beef jerky and sticky rice which has to be easier than the 2 tableside items. After about an hour, the beef jerky and sticky rice came but with no sauce so had to ask for that also There was some singing on Saturday night by a singer that sat up at the middle of the restaurant and later on the night the customers and kids went up for karaoke version. Krok was on our list of restaurants to try on a recent trip to Vegas. We were sold on some of the IG videos and posts we saw online and had to check it out. Chinatown in Vegas generally has the best and most unique options of food/cuisines at reasonable prices. The best part of trying a restaurant you see online and research on Yelp is when the spot delivering and matches all the HYPE! Krok delivers and didn't us at all. First impressions, the restaurant is vibrantly decorated with traditional Thai decors and a beautiful mural right next to the bar. The staff and customer service were pleasant and welcoming the whole time. Our server, Aoh was so nice. We decided on ordering the chicken satay and they were running BOGO appetizer promo where you get egg rolls as the freebie appetizer. The other entree we ordered was the American Wagyu & Crab Curry (Khao Soi). It was $50 but prepared and served table side. Our experience was tremendous! Satay was great and a nice portion. That Khao Soi was just WOW! The Wagyu melted in your mouth and the combo of crab was a perfect match! The mix of all the flavors put together in one dish was divine. Came here for the crab fried rice it's one of my favorite dishes to grab locally. They load it up with so much crab and you get to pick your spice level. Spring rolls are always solid too. We stopped by Krok Thai in Las Vegas for a quick bite with a large group of 18 people before heading home, and overall it was a good experience. The food was delicious, especially considering how many of us there were. Some of my family members felt a few dishes were a bit too oily, but with a group this big, you really can't please everyone, taste is subjective. What truly stood out was the service. Even when one of my impatient aunties told them to hurry up , the staff handled it very professionally. They were actually quick, didn't take the comment personally, and continued serving us with a smile, simply apologizing and moving forward. Managing a large group isn't easy, and we appreciated their calm, friendly attitude and efficient service. I'd definitely consider stopping by again, especially for a casual meal with a group. Was in town for something and the family wanted some Thai food . This came up in the area we were in so we thought we would try it. We came in on a Friday night and it didn't seem too busy but they did tell us they were very understaffed so the wait would be a little longer . We didn't mind as we saw they were bringing in more staff , and the later it got the more people were there to eat. It's nice inside and honestly the staff was very nice . Krok is a chic little spot opposite Shanghai Plaza. The vibe is cool, late night in Phuket atmosphere. There was a duo singing Thai tunes to prerecorded tracks. Occasionally they beckoned up some inebriated patron to do a karaoke track, but it was all in good fun. I will say the the music is a touch too loud because conversation is difficult. Service is warm and accommodating. And the food? Really top-notch. We had the pricey crabzilla fried rice, super luxurious and worth every penny. Loaded with crab, egg, and a served with a citrusy dressing that lightens the dish a bit. The Dino rib fed the three of us just fine, an ultra-tender presentation served in a Penang sauce with a brûléed avocado. AND they are open late!! I kept hearing people rave about this new Thai spot, and was tantalized by Instagram videos seducing me with special off menu items. I waited until I went twice to write a review because the first night the food was tasty and the restaurant had a fun vibe, but they were understaffed and the service suffered. First time we had reservations and were told we would have a table in a moment. We sat down to wait. Other people walked in they sat then without asking for any reservations...then they walked up to us to ask if we had a reservation. So she basically sat this couple that looked nothing like us in the spot she told us to wait for. Luckily there was a table towards the back available she ended us seating us at when she realized she goofed. Then the rest of the night our waitress looked like she was running a marathon and she was hard to catch when we needed something, and was rushing communicating with us. For example I got the salmon ceviche spice level 2 out of 5. It was absolutely delicious full of aromatics and bright flavors, but holy crap it was way spicier than anticipated. It was also spicier than everything else we ordered that was level 3 or 2. I told her this and she said it was a different kind of spice...I would hope if you know a dish runs spicier because it's a different kind of chilli that you may warn the guests. My mouth was on fire most of the meal and my stomach punished me the next day. In addition to the salmon ceviche we ended up getting the khao soi noodles with wagu and crab, spicy garlic edamame, and mango sticky rice. The khao soi they prepare table side and I believe it was the owner who did this for us. His energy was much calmer and welcoming. I ended up ordering an extra order of noodles because we love noodles and ate them before we finished the soup. I love khao soi and the extra fancy ingredients made it a bit more special, but I also would be super happy if they had an option with less pricy meats. I normally don't eat much of the edamame dishes my fiance eats, but the sauce on theirs was so dang addictive that I actually saved what sauce was leftover. Mango sticky rice- mango was perfectly ripe and the rice sticky but soft, with enough sauce to bring it all together and peanuts for crunch. The portion was also good to share between two people. For drinks they have a mocktail menu on top of a fun looking cocktail menu. I can't drink so it's very appreciated. We ordered a drink that had lime and coconut in it, and did two rounds. Both times it was tasty, but they tasted for sure different each time. When we came back the second time we had a waiter who had only been there a few weeks, but you got the vibe he had been working restaurants in the past and did a great job anticipating our needs. This time we came with another couple for a double date ready to try new things. We got crispy pork belly, tom ka gai, wagyu blankets, papaya salad, and the dino bone curry. The crispy pork belly was a revelation. Not oily at all, so tender but crispy on the outside, and a great dipping sauce. Tom ka gai was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. Not overly coconuty, and had cabbage in it which was a bit different, but I liked the addition. One of the better versions of this soup I've had. Papaya salad was a perfect, bright, refreshing crunchy compliment to the other dishes. Wagyu blankets were decadent. Large thin slices of wagyu, engulfing a small bit of rice, and dressed with a soy based sauce and fish eggs. The dino bone was for sure the star of the the show. Another table side experience where they once again brought out a blow torch to finish it off as they assemble it. The meat was fork tender and plentiful, potatoes slightly under, avocado added to the richness, and it also had green beans and bell pepper. It could easily be shared by at least two even three people especially if you order any appetizers. We ordered the same drink our second visit and it tasted different from the other two and nothing like the description. It was super watered down in flavor and bland. I think they really need to get a better handle on consistency of what goes into their drinks. The waiter said he would take it off the bill, but I really would have loved if someone could have just remade it properly, and I'm assuming that is closer to one of the first two versions we got. For dessert they were out of mango, so we opted for their coconut ice cream with sticky rice and it was delightful. I've had coconut ice creams I have been a little more mind blow over, but this was still a yummy way to end the meal. Krok overall has a deft hand with adding an extra punch in flavors and they have a flare for presentation. It makes them stand out in a very saturated Thai food scene. It seems on a normal day their service is solid, and the biggest thing they need to do is make sure everyone is trained properly who is encharge of beverages. read more

The krok cajete was delicious and refreshing. I call it the Thai guacamole. Except with crab and served with shrimp chips. Very good. The wagyu and crab khao soi was also delicious but a bit over the top haha. The curry, in my opinion, was spot on. And I particularly liked the cook on the noodles. Perfectly firm and chewy. Both dishes were a bit over the top. We were celebrating, so we decided to say f it and went all out. Both dishes happened to have table side presentations, which is always fun. We keep passing this place in Chinatown named Krok. Krok meaning cajete or molcajete meaning mortar which they use in their specialty dishes. We got seated right away. Take advantage of the fact not a lot of people know this place exists...for now. Mama Surang's is always packed and soon, this place will be too because they have good food and can compete with all the restaurants in Chinatown! We were given a krok of shrimp chips. Everything on their menu looked good and they were having an appetizer special that if you buy an appetizer, you get potstickers or edamame for free. But we had to stick with the original plan as tempting as that deal was. KROK-CAJETE (CHOICE OF SHRIMP OR CRAB MEAT): Crispy Papaya, avocado, tomato, lime dressing, shrimp chips, onions, cilantro. We chose crab meat. The lime dressing had a hint of fish sauce giving this guacamole-esque dip a Thai taste. I have been seeing Krok pop up online and while Vegas has no shortage of amazing Thai food, the upbeat, neon vibes of this eatery definitely caught my eye. In a small space they managed to have ample seating and embodied the fun, vibrant energy of Bangkok, but still chic for a date night. Our server suggested we try the krok-cajete which is their signature appetizer, which I can only best describe as a fusion of guacamole with papaya salad (and we chose to add crab to it). I didn't know what to expect but it had so much flavor and umami and went really well with the avocado. The owner and chef also came out to our table to prepare the Krokjete at our table. We decided on the crab fried rice (make sure you ask for the green sauce) and the pad Thai and both were absolute hits for us. The fried rice was nice and fluffy and had good amounts of crab. I like my pad Thai on the sweeter side and they do prepare it more on the sweeter side so I give it an eight out of 10. The lunch special also comes with either a small tea or a soft drink that is not refillable. The garden salad with sesame dressing was a small portion, but the dressing was sweet and savory.
