I will never order from here again! I ordered tonight and the delivery driver tried to FORCE his way into my house over a tip. I needed to close my front door to grab the tip because I have a small dog and she was running out. I live in a house and she will go into the street. He demanded the food back and refused to let me close my front door. I had my two small kids inside and it seemed like anything could happen with him being so aggressive so I said now I'm not giving you anything. How dare you actually prevent me from closing my door! So I went to close my second door and he put his foot to prevent that door from closing. I had to literally use all my weight to close the door while he pushed back on the other side! I called Kumo and all they said was oh sorry about that ‍. I called seamless and they reached out to Kumo. Kumo "agreed" to refund me $3! Three damn dollars, after your deliver driver tried to force his way into my house. I'll never order from them again nor will I use seamless. #trash. read more

This was the worst sushi I have ever eaten and that's saying a lot. I was starving when I received my delivery so I scarfed it down. The ginger dressing for the salad has an odd aftertaste and didn't taste fresh. The spicy tuna roll had a weird white sauce on it that I wiped off because it was so awful and over powered the fish. This is one of better sushi places in the area. The sushi is fresh and does not smell like a few other sushi places I have tried in the area(aka ready to roll). My favorite is the kumo roll which is a variety of shrimp tempura but is nicely done. I have also tried their Japanese style shrimp fried rice which was OK, nothing fancy. Delivery is always fast , sometimes too fast to believe, so I often order when I am really craving for sushi and that too in a jiffy. read more

Came here for dessert, we ordered a chocolate mousse cake and green tea ice cream. They poured whipped cream over both dessert and it was very messily poured! I was excited for the chocolate mousse cake but I couldn't even cut into it!!! It was frozen and taken out right from the freezer. Disrespectful and Rude. If I could give no stars I would. One time I ordered I was overcharged on delivery. I need $17 back the man kept giving me $12 and saying it was $17. I had to argue with him just to get MY money back. Seems like he just wanted his tip so he took $5 out of my money. I was going to give him $2 back as a tip. Even though he didn't deserve it for the time he overcharged me and with his nasty attitude. If you have any sort of self respect don't go to this place. HORRIBLE!!!! read more

The rolls and fried rice were good but absolutely do NOT order the mochi. I have NEVER had worse mochi in my life. The texture was disgusting and as it was supposed to be doughy and chewy, it was frost-bitten, hard, and crumbly. I had to spit it out as it is unedible - I never even knew mochi could go bad! The sushi is not cheap or good enough where I can excuse the fact that the staff often uses the tables to rest their heads and nap.

My first experiences (first four or five orders) were OK (mediocre service and some off putting, rude servers)...but overtime... as I became a regular, it improved. I do take out and delivery often and for Delivery, they are consistently fast!! I live in the neighborhood so that's a factor but it has always been fast and 20 minutes or less!!! That's great! I always get the yellowtail scallion roll, slammin' salmon roll and a la carte sushi. Very good quality (the IKURA sushi is high quality-- I have been to Japan millions of times and this place has good ikura [if you like raw fish eggs] so i am pleasantly hooked). The staff have become warmer and nicer the more I became a regular. I like this place and think they are generous and tasty. read more

I tried some sushi and other typical Japanese menu such as soba and tonkatsu. They are interesting imitation of Japanese food. The place has descent atmosphere and I hope to see great improvement soon. read more

Food is great! Not exceptional sushi but very good. This is definitely my go to sushi spot for delivery.

I love this place! I eat there at least once a week. The food is consistent! I recommend sticking to the regular rolls, don't order the uni and expect fireworks. I get regular rolls even some of the special rolls, I'm never disappointed. The staff is not always attentive but they are very nice. Also it's pretty affordable. I wanted to like this place since it's so close. I ordered delivery and it came quickly: a "regular" order of sashimi (12 assorted pieces with rice and soup), a slammin' salmon roll, and a dragon roll. It was decently priced, though the salmon roll was only six pieces. It came quickly, which was nice. But the food was only okay. I've had much better fish in my time. That would be three stars - but I'm taking off an extra star for the GIANT pieces of bone in my salmon sashimi! Uncool, guys. UNCOOL. Kumo is a step up from all the other sushi places in my delivery range. Aside from all the standard sushi, rolls, apps, tempura, etc. (which they do well), they have some atypical standout things on the menu like fried oyster rolls (YUM!) and chilean sea bass rolls. I've only eaten in the restaurant once for lunch when it was fairly empty and they were perfectly nice. Delivery is always fast and they've never messed up my order. A bit pricey for some of the entrees but other item prices are on par - definitely worth an extra couple bucks when it comes to fresh fish! read more

I really like this restaurant. I have not been there physically, but I always order the Hibachi or Teriyaki Salmon meal with white rice and salad. They even have my number and address saved because I hit them up about once a month so they know the deal. My food is always fresh and delivery is prompt. I dig this place. read more

I remember coming here one day for sushi. It wasn't so bad. The place was quiet and had pretty good ambiance. I ordered a seafood noodle soup. It was a huge bowl for once and tasted pretty nice especially on a cold day. They do have a lunch special in which their bento boxes cost only $8.50 which is a heck of a deal. Otherwise, they go for $13. I would definitely come back here to try more food. read more

I got take-away and it was awesome. The tuna tataki was perfect and they were very fast and friendly. Nice ambiance inside as well.

Deliciously prepared food. I've had the teriyaki shrimp, teriyaki salmon, dragon tail roll, and spider roll. All delicious.

The Slammin' Salmon Roll....it is indeed "Slammin'!" Kumo is definitely closer to 4 stars than 3.

The first time I went there the table smelled like feet and toes. The second time the lettuce on the salad tasted like feet and toes. I enjoyed their food. For Brooklyn it was decently priced and they have a good lunch special. The service was good too. I will eat their any day. I usually for a date by myself and I'm not disappointed. It's clean, quiet and the staff are attentive. I like the food, really good sushi especially for the price. Took my mom and grandma who are from California here and we all loved it! Nice decor, fresh fish, great presentation of the food, and the staff was very friendly. Had the sashimi deluxe, and I was pleasantly surprised. Fish was fresh, the selection was excellent, and the service was efficient. I am always disappointed by sushi restaurants and I was not at all disappointed with Kumo. I'll try the udon next time around and will re-review. read more

i love this place! the dinner entré (salmon teriyaki) and sashimi platters are the best! the shrimp hibachi and cortelyou roll are also my go-to. they're always fast and super sweet with delivery. it really is the best thing on this block! we order here at least a few times a month. read more
