Rolls are always fresh and warm and tasty! Only place I go for sushi. Service was great, Joy was very attentive!

This is a review for delivery order. I had their food today and found a piece of staple inside the miso soup! I may have also swallowed another piece of staples as I'm currently experiencing GI discomfort. The food was otherwise fine but I can't get over this safety concern. Called the restaurant and they seem unconcerned for my health and safety. I just urged them to make sure the food they're serving is metal free.

I'm absolutely thrilled I chose this place for Mother's Day! The food is delicious. The staff is super polite and accommodating, and the service is prompt and amazing. Would definitely recommend for Japanese food or a quick sushi outing with friends. Definitely going back for the Spicy Girl roll.

Kumo is definitely my favorite neighborhood sushi spot! We come here at least once a month for the lunch special deals. The sushi and sashimi always taste so fresh and then staff is amazing!

Was on Cortelyou and stopped by Kumo Sushi to order some dinner to go. Got two special rolls for $12-14 each, one of which was the sunset roll and the one I enjoyed more. Sushi was pretty fresh, but not the best I've had. Still good enough for a casual meal though and I will likely return because it's close to where I live and takeout was fast.

Top to bottom in order: philly roll, Alaskan roll, and shrimp tempura roll

One of the worst sushi spots I've been to and it's shocking because of the astronomical prices for rolls. $5.25 for a philly roll, seriously? This isn't a bougie spot in Manhattan. Had the rolls tasted great, I wouldn't have been so dumbfounded. Unfortunately, calling my experience mediocre would be an understatement. Thankfully, we showed up during their lunch special, which goes into 3:30pm, and 3 rolls were $12.50 - it was at least a bit of a relief paying $4 each for those rolls. Ordered the chicken katsu bento box and the 3 rolls (Alaskan, Philadelphia, and shrimp tempura) for lunch. There were a total of 3 sets of customers seated at the restaurant between the time we arrived and left. It took us, no joke, 45 minutes to get our order. Were they plucking the chicken in the back? Had we not been in a hurry or if the food was delicious, I wouldn't have minded the wait, but neither was the case. The breaded chicken tasted foul. I don't know what it was about the chicken but it tasted bitter. I couldn't eat more than a few pieces of it. The salmon in the Alaskan roll tasted pretty badly. I tried to mask it with a ton of soy sauce with no avail. The shrimp tempura was one of those rolls where they take a baby shrimp and extend it before breading to make a roll out of it. It just doesn't work that way. It was also masked in sauce so you didn't even know what you were eating. There are too many alternative places with cheaper prices. They either need to step up their sushi game or lower their prices because not many people will stay as customers with a high price low quality combo.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

The amount of noodles is decent and the toppings are pretty good the egg actually come with both half's rather than one like some places so that's good, my only gripe is that the cha siu isn't heated through after being served which tells me that they didn't torch it for long enough before serving. That usually also makes it less tender as the middle is still a little coagulated from being chilled prior. I would also assume that chicken broth is less calorie dense than pork so I also felt less guilty drinking it all. The staff is friendly and quick enough with the service and they also have rotation test menu items which is nice but there's a few items on their regular menu they are always out of like their oyster pancake

The scallops ($10) was not fried enough and nearly no flavor. The seafood pancake ($16) was most disappointing with no seafood toppings and all carrots/greens and soggy! Overall quite disappointing experience. It does not help that for such a modern looking decent sized establishment, it is forcibly CASH ONLY payment even with an ATM in the restaurant which is very odd

It's an even bigger menu,…read morewith a fusion of Asian cuisines on offer, from Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Singaporean to Japanese and Thai. Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus. Hard to share just one with the whole table.

We ordered the crunchy cabbage, marinated cucumber, crispy garlic potatoes, mushroom Tempera, a variety of skewers including the washugyu & shishito and scallop bacon and pumpkin (you can choose fried or grilled, I chose grilled styled) and the champon noodle bowl. The food comes out very fast. The cucumber was alright though I was not a fan of the WakuWaku sauce overly sweet. The cabbage was delicious but lacked flavor. Huge portion though. Then came out the skewers. The pumpkin was cold. I wasn't a fan of the washugyu & shishito one. And the scallop bacon was just eh, didn't really notice the bacon on it. Everything tempera one were my favorite. I loved the potato tempera it was perfectly fried. Esp. with the spicy miso sauce, it was fire, I was dipping everything in it. And the mushroom was even better. Enoki mushroom was delicious. Careful with the chicken karaage it comes out HOT. Massive pieces so good and juicy. Great portion. The noodle bowl is bigger than your head so I advise to only get one if you're sharing portions. I like the flavor of the soup, very soothing. Good collagen boost too! Lots of seafood in it. Perfect soup for a cold rainy day like we experienced. Theres miso cod was good but have had better. Honestly everything was good.
