After a long day of visiting family at NYP, this was the perfect comfort meal. We arrived before the dinner rush but there were plenty of people picking up to go. Prices were reasonable, about $16-$20 depending on the dish. Sukiyaki beef and katsu were freshly cooked and the quality of rice was great. Would recommend if you're in the area

This was great! Small cozy spot. I tend to have a little anxiety with ramen because sometimes they're tooooo salty but this was absolutely yummy. I was super content and enjoyed every bite. So much of the menu seemed so appealing it was hard to choose. Hopefully I'll go back to try the other things that caught my eye.

The butter chicken ramen was delicious!! The flavors were unique and the ramen broth actually did taste like butter chicken. I just wish there was more meat. The restaurant is cozy and the service is impeccable. They're so fast and friendly. Would recommend!!

Good ramen and decent Japanese curry at a reasonable price. The crispy pork in the ramen is unique and worth a try. For the curry, they offer the option to add cheese which is amisttsince I normally don't really like Japanese curry. The service was fast and friendly. It was p Empty when we walked in on Sunday at 2p but then suddenly filled up.

This is one of my favorites spots to go to during lunch. Ramen is very yummy and filling, sometimes I save half for after half. Staff is very nice and attentive. Very fast service, perfect for a quick sit in bite !

Coo Coo! I love making bird noises when I get the chance. I've been a vigilante ramen consumer for over the past decade and I was surprised to find out that Kuu has alluded me. Why are you hiding Kuu? I come to find out they're known for some of their fusion pieces, particularly their Butter Chicken Ramen. Sign me up! I haul my ass to the outskirts of middle Manhattan to a petite shawty of a store. Much like that prudish girl you've always wanted, it is tight in there. We explore the menu to delightfully find that they also serve other accouterments like japanese curry, sushi, and tartare. Normally I'd consider this a red flag but something about their presence felt promising. We took them up on their bao/house drink offer, the tartare, and Butter Chicken Ramen. The first two items came out and they were very well crafted. I used the word "crafted" because you can tell whomever made this was being delicate. The taste was outstanding! 8/10. VERY promising for what's to come. We received our Butter Chicken Ramen and was picture perfect, it satisfied my vanity. The first noticable inclusion were the ritz crackers. Not sure where the inspiration was from, as I'm not Indian but who am I to judge? We dig in and our appreciation immediately drops. Does it taste like Butter Chicken? Uuuuuuh no. Does it taste remotely like some sort of Butter Chicken Japanese lovechild? Also no! The closest description I can give it is, it reminds me of miso paste. For reference, I recently went to Adda's, who's known for their Butter Chicken. My partner felt the same and were relieved to have split the bowl instead of ordering one each. Will I come back? Yeah! If I'm in the neighborhood. The appetizers were great and I'd give the Japanese curry a try. I'm skeptical has hell for the ramen now though.

I saw their Butter Chicken Ramen on Instagram and knew I had to try it immediately. The broth is creamy and rich and perfect on a cold night. Loved this unique twist on ramen. We also had handrolls on the side. They could've had more filling but the ingredients were fresh. Shrimp tempura was my favorite! It's a smaller spot, best for individual dining or couples. Sit at the window if you enjoy people watching LOL.

not a bad ramen spot but i wasnt a fan of the crispy pork belly in the ramen. the meaty parts were tough and difficult to chew through while the fatty parts were smoky from the frying. neither picked up the flavor of the broth despite it being pretty salty. other than that service was fast and space was clean.

There were a lot of food options and the portions were filling! We had the sukiyaki don with gyoza as a combo and the spicy pomegranate citrus salmon poke bowl. The flavors were good! The waitress was very attentive because she came to give me the menu for their tonkatsu burgers when I started looking at it. The interior isn't big but there was a good amount of seating for dining in. Overall, I would come back here to try the other food options!

Curry beef ramen - beef is good but broth is salty. Extra noodles in the bowl was extra sticky. We got Butter chicken ramen because where else can you get that as ramen? I got extra pork. Broth flavor was very good. However, what I thought I read as naan came out as crackers. Wha?? Overall This was the best dish here. Gyoza - good but too salty. I would go back to try the other ramen but I have a feeling they are going to be salty.

I ordered lunch from Kuu Ramen today and won't be ordering from them again. I tried the crispy pork belly curry and it was terrible -- the "crispy" pork belly was mostly fat, and for $19.95 you get only four tiny pieces. The Uber Eats photos looked great, but the real dish was inedible. Thankfully I also ordered karaage chicken, which saved the meal.

We're back Kuu Ramen to check out their latest menu. The spotlights of the new drop are definitely the chili crispy pork ramen and karaage omusoba. Their dishes tasty and visually appealing as always. ＊Chili Crispy Pork Spicy Ramen An interesting and creative combo. This ramen tastes like a Szechuanese fusion to me, as the spicy chicken paitan broth and spicy ground chicken reminds me of dan dan noodle. While crispy pork chashu is like a japanese version of cantonese roasted pork belly (燒肉). It is quite spicy in my standard. ＊Omusoba Karaage Another new item! Idk why they didn't show it on the menu but glad I noticed it on their social. VERY DELICIOUS! The yakisoba is envelopped with a thin layer of omelette egg. A chicken karaage skewer is put on top drizzled with spicy mayo. Only available at UES location! ＊Sukiyaki Beef Curry Rice** We really loved their curry rice last time so we ordered again. The sukiyaki beef is well marinated and every bite is bursting with flavor. The curry is cooked with potato and carrot, giving it a sweeter taste. ＊Spicy Tuna Tartare** Crispy gyoza chips topped with mashed spicy tuna, avocado and scallion. It is a light and flavorful appetizer. We very much enjoyed it. ＊Salmon Avocado Handroll The handroll is in a good portion size, neatly wrapped with nori, salmon and avocado. A classic and refreshing appetizer.

This is a great spot to try out Ramen. The staff were welcoming and extremely attentive. We tried their signature "Butter Chicken Ramen" and "Triple Chicken Yuzu Ramen", both dishes were phenomenal. Butter chicken ramen is a must try if you like fusion food. The quantity is filling for average appetite.

Haven't had ramen (or any restaurant quality food for that matter) since the pandemic started so I decided to try this little ramen shop located just a block away from work. Perusing the menu, I was surprised to discover that none of the ramen options really appealed to me. No tonkotsu broth based options? Really? Finally decided to settle for their Kuu chili ramen since you can never go wrong getting the most expensive item right? It ended up tasting very average. The noodles and the ingredients were ok but the broth tasted one dimensional. I wouldn't mind if it was a little cheaper but at $15, I am expecting a higher quality bowl of ramen. Service was kind of awkward...not good :( Sigh, looks like it's back to homemade packed lunches for now. read more

Had a craving for ramen and noticed this new place in our neighborhood we had no clue about!! Outdoor dining was minimal - uncovered seats on a relatively narrow sidewalk, so we got two ramen bowl combos to go. Glad we did!! The shoyu ramen is definitely the best in this area. And the pork buns were delish! We will be going back regularly. Everything was packaged neatly and the staff was following covid-19 protocols wonderfully. It is also very cute inside! read more

This cute little Japanese restaurant is an excellent addition to my neighborhood! The ambiance, authenticity, service, quality/quantity , cost , oh. and most importantly, fresh draft of Sapporo! Love, love. Love. Wish their continuous success during this difficult times. Went here to have a quick lunch, food was okay.. until the waitress did not even let me finish paying before she felt the need to inform me that I needed to give tip. I was going to give tip, was not even done paying yet as she's watching me to see how much I'm going to give. Hounding on top of me to see how much she was going to get. Was very rude and unprofessional in demanding a tip and informing me I must, when I was not even done looking at my bill. Won't be coming here again! read more

Came here for lunch at 2:00 with barely anyone here . Noodles were hard texture didn't match the broth Ordered Okinawa ramen w chicken and added pork the pork tasted Like the fatty part of the meat. The chicken tasted old like it was from the night before and they just dumped it into my broth. for 20$ I would expect a bigger portion size read more

Today for takeout I had the cold ramen - spicy tantanmen which was fantastic! Pulled pork, spicy peanut sauce, cashews, shredded Parmesan and arugula. I've never had cold ramen before but on a hot day like today it was wonderful and really hit the spot. The takeout version came with the sauce in a separate container to keep the arugula fresh, which was perfect. I took a pic after I started eating - sorry! Edit: after having this cold ramen, I'd say every season is ramen season!!! read more

I should have tried their raman. Instead I ordered three hand rolls. They had interesting choices, but all were soggy. The nori was damp and lacked the wonderful crunch when made to order - I suspect it was pre-made and sat in a refrigerator and were nuked to get them to room temperature. I hope their raman is better. read more

Got the kuu chili ramen and the okinawa shio ramen. The kuu chili was dramatically better but overall, broth was very flavorful. Had to add a bit of chili oil to up the spice levels since our tolerance is a bit high. Only thing i would change would be a full soft boiled egg rather than 1/2. Staff was super friendly and food came out in a timely manner. Skip on the matcha cheesecake though, it's just regular cheesecake. read more

The Kuu chilli one comes with 2 pieces of char siu and minced meat, bamboo shoots and half an egg. Spiciness level can be adjusted if you talk to the server! Quick service. I was a bit underwhelmed by Kuu in the UES. We came here for dinner on a weeknight. We were one of the few patrons that night. The place looks like it's more of a lunch vibe or takeout vibe. Bf got the Kuu chili ramen and I got miso pork ramen. The Miso Pork comes with two slices of pork belly with a soy sauce egg and veggies on the side. The pork belly was okay- had a pretty chart on the outside but that was pretty much it. The egg was cold which I was not really happy with. I also wasn't a huge fan of the arugula as a side garnish- it was an unexpected acidity and bitterness that didn't really add to the dish in any way. Overall, average ramen place. read more

Staff is ok. Sometimes sucks, sometimes great (the girl is great). Food is bomb!!! Kuu Chili Ramen is always amazing and so is the pork buns. However... since in-door dining reopened and they are so busy the food's taste is being effected. Best to go after rush hour. The chef clearly focuses on getting the orders filled and not the quality of the food. However, when they have time. It is always good. I dine there 11am or 3-5pm. 12-2 is a disaster story. read more

This place deserves 1 star just for its tip gauging. Suggesting more than 20% tip on the payment pad for takeout orders is utterly unacceptable. Basically $10 for turning around to the kitchen and handing the food over the counter?? No thank you. About the food: Rice bowl portions were tiny. Ramen noodles and broth were basically indistinguishable from a cheap instant Ramen. Meat was fine. Sanitation grade at this place is pending. Don't even want to know the details. So a number of issues here. Will not return. read more

Really really good! I still have yet to find another spot that I enjoy as much as this place in terms of flavor which is basically the whole point to ramen. However I really wish the portions were a bit bigger. I got pork ramen and only got maybe 2oz of pork. I was still hungry after eating this as it was mostly noodles and broth. Still good but I don't know if it's worth the price at the end of the day. read more

I order a poke bowl to go and it mostly has rice. The salmon is only 5 small pieces and the sauces they add on my bowl is barely there. I'm not sure if eating in would have been a different experience, I did this order to go. I regret wasting 16 bucks on practically rice and vegetable. read more

We've been here a couple times and the ramen and handrolls have been consistently good. Service is always fast and efficient too. We've basically tried all their ramens and they all taste good. They give ample toppings and the portion size is good too. The hand rolls are always stuffed so we never feel cheated since we've been to places where it's basically just rice and seaweed. It's a good go-to ramen restaurant on the UES. read more

Great place for some ramen noodle soup or Japanese rice bowl at the UES area. It's been difficult time for everyone during the pandemic, Kuu ramen is still open for business serving the local community with their take out & delivery service! A restaurant staff, Tree is always friendly and helpful preparing my take out orders. Look at my take out order, with a thank you note, very sweet and thoughtful! If you like spicy soup, go for Kuu chili, if not Okinawa Shio is a good choice! All their donburi rice bowls are very yummy too, especially the spicy soboro chicken don! read more

Just okay!! Got the spicy salmon bowl and it certainly was exactly as spicy salmon bowls go. The fish was alright, not particularly fresh tasting but perhaps the spicy sauce was making it harder to judge. Nothing stand out about the seasoning either. In other non-salmon-bowl-news, the space was definitely cute and had a nice ambiance to it. I might go again in a pinch as it was certainly fine, but not the sort of spot I'd crave or recommend to friends in the area. Perhaps I'd be down to try their ramen as well since it seems to be their specialty. But overall ... JUST OKAY! read more

Clean place that presents very well. Definitely small, but feels warm and friendly. Despite a heavy, looming scent of wet dog, I enjoyed my time here. The water was served at room temperature in a metal container, which is not my favorite, but the staff was diligent about refilling. We started with a small but delicious Junmai sake matched with the pork bun appetizer. While very flavorful, the bun heavily favored greens over pork. Definitely room for improvement. My beef sukiyaki arrived as the main course. The first few bites were great, with the sauce, veggies and beef complimenting each other perfectly. But I ran out of sauce long before beef supplies zeroed out and I had way too much rice left over. My fault? Maybe. Still felt like the ratios were all wrong again. Overall: good, not great. Looking for a good spot and found this Ramen place with 1 Yelp review. Was starving and forgot to take pics but we had shoyu ramen, Kakuri Bun, extra noodles (for my little one), and Sukiyaki Beef. Everything was delicious! I am not someone who enjoys all Ramen like most people so it takes good ingredients to make me want to talk about it. They were fast with our food and all that I mentioned above cost us about $33 to feed 2 and a half people. When I eat here again I will update with photos. Feedback: make sure there is toilet paper in the bathroom. Nice bathroom btw. Wasn't expecting that lol. That tray is slippery like the last person stated in their comment. You had a sign with sweet potatoes but didn't have any. Anyone of the 5 staff could have erased it. The stars here are for the food. Thanks for reading read more

I would never order from hear again. The ramen arrived not packaged properly. The plastic container for the broth split and leaked all over the bag. I sent a message to Kuu but received no response. Also the coconut curry ramen did not taste that good. Very little coconut flavor. Weird textured chicken, very few veggies. Seemed more like fast food ramen than real ramen (and we have eaten ramen at many places in NYC.) read more

Some of the best ramen on the UES without a doubt. Every time I recommend this spot to someone they come back to thank me. One of my friends caught herself ordering more than once a week. Love the hand roll appetizer option too. Their ramen and noodles have a really nice texture and lots of delicious flavor. Just unique enough and well executed. Winner every time. read more

Found this place on the way home. They just open. The place look nice and cozy. Simple and clean Japanese style. We got Tuna Tartare, Sukiyaki beef, Shoyu ramen.
