Second time here, It is all you can eat buffet. Must to try if you are local or tourist. We head to Shasta so we decided to try them again because there was a good experience last time. Love the environment and bring us back to the first experience we had here . Service is fast and ambience is Asian . Love the selection , you have sushi bar to taste and allá carte selection plus cast iron hibachi section.

I got curry chicken and lemongrass pork to get cooked I realized I just like all the fried food lol Nothing diff, just go back to my first review There was soft serv ice cream machine Came on tuesday 6pm Dessert area was deserted. Still a few but not much Lots more people Drinks do cost extra, besides water I still love this place, higher quality than average food, buffet and so cheap 18.88$ 5/5

TLDR: Never get the crawfish Okay, let me just preface this by saying that everything else was either okay or good. Now, I feel very bad for the father and his kid that got the crawfish boil right before me. I was really skeptical when I saw they had "cajun crawfish" at a Chinese restaurant... so I passed originally. After having their whole fried shrimp, I figured I'd give it a try before we left. At first, it was fine. Not great, not really bad. I've had cajun crawfish in Louisiana a few times when visiting my parents so my expectations were very low for this Chinese restaurant in Chico, CA to begin with. Then we left and I started the 48 minute drive back to my girlfriend's house in Magalia. Right after we started, I felt a worsening nausea. I also started to get a strong taste of dirty swamp water in my mouth that remained for the rest of the drive. Thank god the nausea and taste subsided by the time we got home. I wanted to just pull over and vomit so badly. I tried drinking a pretty strong Dutch Bros tea from earlier multiple times to try and get rid of the taste.. to no avail. When I got home my stomach was messed up. I'm not sure if she was really quiet or something, but I didn't hear the hostess say anything before she started just walking off towards our table. I just assumed we were getting seated because she looked at us after getting to the little podium and started walking away. Other than that, the service was good. Whenever our water got low, it was filled by a passing waiter before it got empty. The lady at the register was kind and activated the electric toothpick dispenser when she noticed it wasn't working for me. The ambiance is kinda cool. Not super over the top, sort of a slightly laid-back traditional Chinese decoration. Not filled to the brim with decoration like some Chinese restaurants. Feels like a warm little hometown restaurant.

I ate here recently to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. Kwando's ambiance is similar to China Buffet: A koi pond at the entrance and a hostess who'll seat you and take down your drink orders. Soft drink refills are free. I love the General Tso's chicken! It's crispy, glazed in a mildly sweet sauce, with a few chili peppers. Vegetarian fried rice was fluffy and served hot. The sushi bar has California Rolls, Philly cheese rolls, and Tuna rolls and a serve-yourself Wasabi plate. Dessert includes vanilla frozen yogurt, strawberry sherbert, chocolate or coffee cake. The waiter checked on us every few minutes to refill our drinks. This buffet has a substantial selection.

    Nicer taste than anticipated.

Kwando is one of my favorite places. I love the chicken and mushrooms. Sushi isn't bad either.

The music was excellent and our server was working hard. With how busy it was with diners, our…read moreserver still made time to check on us, ask if we wanted soup and rice, and brought us our bill in a timely manner. Watching the cooks hard at work and mastery of Mongolian bbq was like a well-oiled machine. Watching the cooks and seeing staff continuously refill the food, toppings, and sauce containers for customers, while also putting out more bowls and trays, was like watching a flawless production! As for our food, the price of lunch is bang for buck because of how much you can fill your Mongolian BBQ bowl and the soup, rice, and addicting wonton chips with sweet and sour dipping sauce that come with your lunch meal. I gave 4 stars because the garlic and potato soup was super salty. My friends and I agreed this soup would have been perfect if it didn't taste like salt was poured into it. In addition, watching the cross contamination of some diners touching the raw meat in their bowls then touching the next tongs, like for the veggies, was a big health risk concern for me. With this, I keep in mind that I don't even know if this can be prevented due to the way Mongolian BBQ works with customers serving themselves, like a buffet. I understand it would be hard to control and prevent the cross contamination from touching the meat, especially as customers try to make room in their big bowl. In the end, the number of people dining, then seeing more people entering, shows how popular Hula's is!

I remember when Hula's opened in Chico... I was either finishing junior high or starting high…read moreschool. Decades later, the place has stayed relatively the same! Here's my pro tip -- don't overdo it on the noodles. Go equal parts protein and green veggies, and throw tons of sauce on there! And if you get there before 5 p.m., the lines are way more manageable. Get some!
