I remembered I needed to have my emissions test done when one of the owners (their brothers) was on the sidewalk and welcomed me to the shop. I decided to pull the trigger and these guys really couldn't be nicer. Mohamed met me after my lunch to cash me out and we talked about the Argentina/Egypt WC game that had just ended. The service here was 5-star. They drove my car around, inspected, and delivered it back to a parking space right in front with the engine running and A/C on so I had a nice, cool car to welcome me. First off, I've driven this place so many times and never saw it, it's in the shopping center on the corner. Went down there today because I needed an AC vacuum and refill after replacing ac compressor and the prices were good. Mohamad took really good care of me and he brought me out purposefully to show me that everything looked and even recommended that my blower was good for now, but might want to think about replacing it in the future as the pressure was low. If you are in the Plano area and have mechanical needs, check them out. Prices were way more reasonable and there were no pushy sales antics. Just good old quality service, definitely will go back. Was caught short when getting my tires checked before a trip. Went to Community to tweak the tow because the tire shop claimed it was tearing up my front tires. But adjustments were not needed so the confirmed it was good and sent me on my way and declined to charge me for the alignment. I'd definitely say I trust these guys and I'll be back. read more

This is my first time ever leaving a review, and I'm excited to share my experience to anybody who is looking for a good and trustable repair shop. I just returned from the repair shop, and I felt compelled to write this feedback. This repair shop is truly exceptional! I drive a 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck, and just yesterday, the engine light came on and began flashing. I brought my truck back to this shop, where I had replaced the engine plug a few months ago. They quickly diagnosed the issue: the plug had come loose/off after hitting something(other cables?) inside of the engine room, while I was turning the steering wheel, causing the engine to misfire. They reconnected the plug, removed the obstacle, and cleared the error code. They also informed me that if the error recurs, it might indicate a thermostat issue that could need replacement. I inquired about the cost for today's work, and to my surprise, they charged me nothing--absolutely zero dollars! Really? Wow! (They even joked about charging me $10K, which made me laugh.) I am incredibly impressed. My wife recommended this repair shop to me before, telling me they are very honest and avoid unnecessary repairs. Even if a replacement might be needed in the future, they advise waiting until it's truly necessary. In my experience, other repair shops often recommend immediate changes, even when everything is functioning perfectly now, which is why my wife loves this place. (before, if I recall, she was advised by other repair shop to replace something immediately when she did oil change via Groupon, she doubted and asked this repair shop to consult - as a result, they said still 40% remains, so no need to change immediately and keep using another 30%(until to hit 10% remains) to save the money - sorry I forgot what was that for the % but my point is they gave her honest opinion to save money) Today, I completely understand her recommendation. If anyone is looking for a trustworthy repair shop, I highly recommend this one. At the very least, consult with them for their opinion before making any decisions about repairs with other shops. My daughter went there numerous times. They didn't have the courtesy to even call us back!! Her car is still not as it was when we went there. And I will not ever recommend. Her car did not start again. Becuz there is a missing screw on battery wire and they did give 2 rocks about it!! They knew it wasn't correct and did nothing! They have quick fixes and demand exorbitant prices. But not even one courteous call to update!! I have tried more than once. He acts like he is doing you a favor! I just brought my car into this mechanic for the first time. I had a Groupon which obviously pissed this little man off. Why do businesses put their information on Groupon and gave you discounts? They only treat you poorly when you try to use it ? They were giving an ac inspection, I paid $50. The guy told me it would be 199.00 when I called to make sure I could still bring it with no appt. I didn't say anything about the Groupon on the phone, I could tell he would deny me service. I took it in there with cold AC that went out every once in a while , I told him to do the service that was given on the Groupon, if he found a problem pls come to me about it. He himself told me the ac was cold , (kind of like , why in the hell are you bothering me) I reiterated to him that it only goes out at certain times, especially when I'm at a red light . He continue to be rude and disrespectful the entire time I was there. Five minutes later he comes and says to me OK that'll be 199 .00, I said what do you mean that'll be 199 I have this Groupon. He tells me that he had to take all of the Freon out of the system in order to check it. I initially wasn't here telling him we discussed this. What did you do to my car? Tell me you did not take all the Freon out, please ! even told me that I needed to get into my car and leave and I said no, sir. I'm not leaving until you tell me what you did to my car. He goes to the phone to call the police police because I had definitely been victimized when I get into my car my AC light is blinking this gentleman actually took all the Freon out of my car however he denied it, but I went in there with Air and I left out hot air, completely hot . It was 100° I was forced to go and pick up my children and 100° in the afternoon with no AC . Please stay away from this place, I wish I did. I still am having to deal with my AC and the fact that there's hot air coming out. I went over to Walmart. They were about to close but they confirmed the fact that he had taken all of the Freon out of my air-conditioning . now I have no cold and when I asked the guy about it, he said you need to leave now or I'm gonna call the police.. I have my children in the car and I'm driving around in 105° weather this establishment keep your cars far away from this place because they have ruined my car today. Also they pay people for positive google reviews, it's posted right there at the "cashier" if they didn't I would suspect their google review to be 2-3 stars. read more

I came in for an alignment. They said I couldn't do it because of rusty parts, but still made me pay for the alignment, plus an up charge just for having a European car. I was quoted $600 to change the tie rods. When I said please try to do the alignment, the mechanic kept getting frustrated at me and telling me to do it myself. This shop has been my favorite place to go for some minor repairs and oil change for 3yrs now! I came in last night for new battery and inspect today and everything was super fast and super excellent customer service. My first time here was after so many efforts to fix some little thing and I didn't want to take it to dealership cuz of high labor charges for it. So I brought it in after paying $120 for diagnostic and Omar took care of the repair with little to nothing compared to the dealers. I was shock and happy with their work and they were friendly for the entire time. And I noticed that they can fix both American and foreign cars which is cool. Brought my truck there to brakes fixed which include new rotors and new calipers and a brake bleed. The brakes were repaired but the handbrake wasn't working as it should. We brought it back and we're told it needs time to "adjust". Hand brake system runs on a cable unlike the normal brake system which is hydraulic so they lied to get us out of their way! We have been taking both our new and used vehicles to Community Auto Repair for routine maintenance service repair an inspection for many years. We have always been treated fairly and with respect. Sometimes there have been large ticket repairs and other times what we thought would be a very expensive repair turned out to be very minor. At all times, Ed and his team treated us fairly and performed the job flawlessly. I cannot say enough good to adequately distinguish an all-star provider of services. There are times when I've come in at the last moment before closing and they held the door open because it was an urgent problem. At all times, expectation management was met. Conversations regarding what needed to be done and what was financially reasonable on some of the extremely old vehicles, were honest and candid. Always, did they respect the economics of the decision process and when necessary, sometimes alternative solutions were made available. The nice thing is that, when not financially possible, The recommendation was made to get rid of the vehicle. Over the years, Community auto has serviced at least three vehicles of ours approaching 20 years old and with over 200,000 miles. In some instances, these older vehicles run better and perform better than their replacements. Yes, we do also have newer vehicles but, we have always liked to maintain a backup vehicle or two for emergencies or visiting family members. Just because the vehicle is older, doesn't mean it has not been well-maintained and still be within a very solid service life. My go to Mechanic! Brought the car in due to over heating. Turns out I needed the fan replaced. He gave me a quote and of course I called around to other places for pricing and was quoted double the price and they would have to keep it overnight. Mo fixed it in a few hours for half the price. Can't comment on the service, only the employees. I was at a store around the corner yesterday. When I went to back out of my parking space, I heard a honk and stopped. A pickup with a pipe rack on top went by me at close to 30 mph. I turned my head and saw a car out of its space about halfway down and the guy honked again, served into the empty parking spaces, and blew around it. He never slowed down or touched a brake. When I came around the corner, the truck was parked by the garage of this business. I saw an older man inside the bay door and asked him if the guy that drove that truck worked there. A younger guy came out and, when I told him he needed to slow down, he started laughing and waving goodbye at me like a total POS. I don't know if this was his truck or a customer's but, from what I saw, I wouldn't trust them to pull my car into the garage, must less take it for a test drive. read more

I use this place for all my needs on my older Lexus. Mo is very responsive and very easy and clear to communicate. The place is open on Sun which is great since i am busy during the week. They performed break jobs, got me tites at a good price, oil xchange, battery xchange, etc. it is good to interface with a small business , they want to keep you as a regular customer and i need somebody reliable on the long run. Ed, (I think he's the owner), is the nicest mechanic I ever encountered. He gave me detailed information about the problem, and wasn't condescending at all. I felt like I was in training at auto mechanic school and I loved it. His prices are fair and reasonable. The work was done quickly, and there is a small but comfortable waiting room. Just found this place close to my house. I ve been looking for a while to find a shop that i can trust. I finally got lucky. I met the owner Ahmad, he was very nice and helpful. I needed my brake pads checked for my E350 since i had check pads light on. They checked for free and showed me it was the front pads. They had it done in one hour with a fair price. The most important thing is they were translucent and honest. I was so imoress that i took my daughter's car the next day for brakes and battery. Awesome people. I came by here about a month ago to get my car inspection done. It was one month past due and I did not realize it. I arrived at Community Auto Repair at exactly 6:00 p.m. They close at 6. One of the guys asked me to try back tomorrow but get there by 5:45 p.m. I explained my situation that I work downtown Dallas and live in Plano so there is no way I can get there by 5:45 if I leave work at 5:00. I went in to get a second opinion on my car ac because I was told the entire ac kit needed to be replaced at another car repair place. The mechanic at Community assessed the compressor and checked for leaks and didn't find anything wrong. He said my ac just needed to have the proper amount of Freon in it.
