I had been going to oil depot for the last 4 years, the one guy that works there acts very nice,and may seem professional, but is not.I recently had some work done on my Jeep, and the mechanic working on it showed me my filter because he said that he didn't feel comfortable completing the work until the filter was changed, I asked how often it should be changed, and he said with every oil change,meanwhile I had just had an oil change at Oil Depot two weeks prior, it's obvious that they did not change my filter,the mechanic said that it's obvious that they probably hadn't been changing it every time, given the condition of the filter.I will not go back to this place again,just because people appear to be nice,doesn't mean they aren't shady. read more

My first time adding a business on Yelp. Detoured this way on my way home and turned into oil depot after realizing my poor car was in desperate need of an oil change. Not your typical fancy schmancy place with free coffee and flat screen tvs, but the quality of service and the friendly staff definitely make it all A-ok. I have been here 4 times before writing this review and am honored to be the first to let people know of this place. 3 times for oil change and 1 for a broken headlight. I didn't even bring the right lightbulb but they exchanged my bulb with the correct one that they had in stock with no additional charge. I met one of the owners and he seemed to be very hard at work which was a good sight to see. It's nice to see the bossman actually sweating and doing the same labor as his employees rather than acting all high and mighty. Overall, this place has honest staff, quick service, reasonable prices and are straight to the point with your car issues. Can't ask for a better experience. This will definitely be my go to place for any car issues I have in the future. read more

I have had my oil changed at this location for several years. It's an older building but don't let appearances get in the way. They are professional, quick and pleasant. They usually can start your oil change when you arrive with no waiting. Prices are fair. Before I got my new car I drove an older truck and they did mechanical work for me as well. A couple times they felt like the issue I was having was better addressed elsewhere and they were very honest and told me so. Honesty in a mechanic is hard to find but I believe these guys are honest. Finally they are very personable and even remember you from one time to the next. Highly recommended. read more

REFUSED TO WARRANTY WORK and continues to lie, evade and waste my time and money. BUYER BEWARE - FIRST TIME CONTRIBUTOR TO YELP This is the final straw - I am done and as importantly, done being quite about it. My experience with this company has been one lie after another lie after another - and now, they have lied about doing the warranty work they promised. They have gone too far! When I started this nightmare I went into the Garland/Beltline location and the manager-right hand man to the Owner, Carlos that everything I was told elsewhere as a problem he had an easy fix. He mis diagnosed that day and continued to mis diagnose for several months. Eventually - after literally hundreds of hours messing with these guys I managed to get the truck in working condition and out of their clutches. The warranty on their work - one year. One thing I will say about the Owner - Ali - he ran me around for quite a while, no question but in the end he bit the bullet and delivered a working vehicle. It took several months but he did come through. (All of this was avoidable had any of their diagnosis' been worth a damn) However, he did eventually deliver. A big part of the scope of work was the EMC computer. They claimed it had been re built and it stopped working, My son took the truck to a shop in Downtown Dallas to run a complete diagnosis before taking it back to Oil Depot. I wanted to be sure it was within their scope of work before I filed a warranty claim. It was clearly this computer and they had replaced it. Naturally, I had to run around for a couple of days to find out where I was supposed to take the vehicle. Ali's wife runs the Garland store and she told me to deliver it to the Richardson store. I had the truck delivered and communicated with Carlos, the manager Sunny and the Owner. The Owner told me that this was covered by the warranty and the truck would be ready by Tuesday 6-10 @ 10:00 AM. He told me that "he would take care of $325 of the $350 bill." I told him that is he delivered on time as agreed I would pay $150 of it. I volunteered that because I have been through the dodge and weave with these guys before. My son called several times and was told that "they are too busy to do the work, we need to come pick up the part and bring to Arlington, and pay for it, bring it back and they would install it when they had the time." I mentioned this to Ali and he said "he would take care of it." He said it was under warranty and he would pay for it. My son called this morning (6/10/15) and was told the same thing. I have texted Ali and went to the shop to see what the manager there had to say about delivery. They were too busy to talk to me. They refused to warranty my truck even after the Owner told me straight up he would honor the warranty. I decided to have the truck picked up and brought to a respectable shop. Oil depot used an air ratchet to tighten plug on oil pan. We tried to change oil and couldn't remove it. Told shop owner a after some push back he agreed to fix the next day, shop opens at 8 said be there at 10, gave me his cell phone # to text in advance. Found out that the number he gave was wrong, came to the shop at 10 no one was there. Other people were waiting. Talked to a few that said they were advised to come today to correct whatever issue oil depot made. They have been a complete no show. People have been waiting since 9 for them. This is not good business, never, ever, come to them. They don't keep their word and they have bad service. read more

Very good place, we wanted to buy a car from the dealer, and one of my good friends told me to come and check the car here before buying it(doesn't really cross my mind to do something like this) but I did and I'm glad I did, they were honest about the car when the "dealer" mechanic was sure nothing was wrong with it and it was a good catch, they advised me and told me how much everything would be! I came very early to this place to make sure I could get an oil change ASAP because the day I had ahead was filled with errands. I came right at 7:50 AM. Ahead of me was one woman. When 8:00 AM arrived, most of the employees for the place start showing up as well as customers. The place began filling up like crazy. The doors to the little shop, however, was still closed until 8:40 AM. The person that handled the cash register explained that someone left the keys to the garage and had to go back home to get it. I understand, however, it would have been nice if at least one employee came up to the woman ahead of me and explained it at the 8:00 AM mark. [-1 star] At the cash register, I handed one of the employee's my key and then they quickly drove the car into their garage. The service was extremely quick. [+1 star] Oil change was finish by 8:50 AM. During the time they were changing the oil, I was waited inside the shop. The inside was dirty and filled with mosquitoes. The bathroom was dirty as well. I was actually afraid to use it. [-1 star]. Overall my experience was okay and quick. I bought my own oil (not sure if they actually used it) so the price was reduced to $12. read more

Oil depot is the worst place to take your car they advertise pennzoil but it actually some cheap oil company THAT IS NOT PENNZOIL ha and the synthetic oil is actually REFILLED BOTTLES with cheap oil from the pumps it's not really synthetic oil so don't get fool this is horrible what this people are doing to us customers and they don't even have a real mechanic oil depot has been taken over by new owners and this people are cheap ass people who tries to fool us they have no customer service rude fakes frauds thiefs and LIARS so if you don't want nothing bad to happen to your car don't go there every time I pass by when going to work Oil Depot looks empty I guess people know what I am taking about someone plz close this shop down and do all of us a favor read more

Came to get a new horn for my car so it would pass inspection they said they had to order the part and to come back the next day. When I returned a guy explained to me they had to get a "after market part" which I was ok with but I was still charged $300 for the horn and inspection. I don't work on cars but aren't "after market" parts a little cheaper? Then when my uncle looked at it afterwards he sd the part was never changed, they most likely blew it out to make it work which makes sense b/c it's very weak sounding. Side note: My uncle is a mechanic w/ his own shop. I just didn't want to drive over a hour to fix such a small issue. Next time I'll take the drive! This is my goto place when the dealership is unreasonably overpriced. This place offer specials from time to time, and the one going on as of right now is for this week only. $99 brake replacement with lifetime warranty. I would never have to pay for my front brakes ever again. Their oil change is relatively affordable as well. They do offer synthetic oil, but if anything, give a call ahead of time to see if your resources and service are provided. One downfall, they are always busy. Business is doing very well and I can see why. But they will try to get you in and out as soon as possible. Staff is friendly and they make sure you're coming back for more service. read more

So I was in Richardson visiting my best friend and we were driving around and I saw that I was well overdue for an oil change. So she introduced me to this lovely place! I went for the full service oil change (they check your engine and top off all your fluids). I got double stamped, get your 6th oil change for free! Don't forget to ask for a stamp card. I came here to get a key made (for a push-to-start car). Not only was the place gross, but they decided to tell me while I was there that they actually didn't have the ability to make a key for a Prius. If we waited an hour he could 'borrow it from his friend' and it would cost $220. Maybe you should think about that before making appointments with people, knowing what car they have. This place is awful. Pricing on an oil change is arbitrary - I've been charged a different amount each of the last four times I've been there. Today I was charged $35 (I've been charged $21 by them on the same car in the past) - I didn't even bother complaining - they'll just never have my business again but will have this review...though I'm actually glad they tried taking advantage of me today...had they not, I'd have never read the really awful reviews about their "services" on here. This has been the worst experience ever. I am very supportive of small business and I am supportive of businesses in my community. I have lived in East Park Village for more than 20 yrs and never have I experienced service so poor. I took my Trail Blazer to have it fixed. They change the water pump and installed a new belt. The vehicle had a loud squeak, which wasn't there when we took the car to them. They claimed it was the Pulley, which would cost $80.00 and they supposed weren't charging labor. Wrong!!! I'm a smart consumer, so I believe in verifying everything. The part was $40.00, so the inflated the price and lied to try to convince us they were working with us. We replaced the part, but it wasn't the issue. The vehicle still squeaked. We ended up taking the Trail Blazer to them a total of 3 times, before they discovered they put the belt on backwards! First bad experience. I had the oil changed on my Hyundai Sonata and they didn't put a sticker in it with the next oil change. I complained and their incompetent representative put a sticker in the window, with the trip miles......But you call yourself a professional! Well I know the difference between ODO miles and Trip miles....SMH I took my car back again to have the sticker corrected. My daughter took her 2012 Chevy Cruze to their shop to have the oil changed. They stripped the pin, wiped the oil off around the pin, so no evidence would show and claimed the oil was changed by some other shop. Talking to their incompetent repair guys was a waste of time. They were condescending and rude, but they talked correctly to my husband and agreed to fix it. This happened 5/15/16, we (my daughter and I) took the car back to them to have it fixed, only to be told again they didn't do it and they couldn't fix it. We got a second opinion today, because I am a smart consumer who seeks answers. The second mechanic explained it had to be stripped, when they (Oil Depot) tried to remove the pin to change the oil. The proof is, if that were not the case and it occurred during the last oil change, there would be oil around the pin. It was wiped clean by OIL DEPOT! My daughter took the car back and was cussed out! Places like this have NO PLACE in BUSINESS!! I will be making a report to the BBB! I will also make it a point to advise anyone who cares about their investment in their vehicle, should NEVER do business with this company! This is the WORST place I have been since the old crew left. I brought my daughter car in for AC issues. They told me that it was the compressor and all other parts that support the compressor are in excellent condition. Quoted me a price of 250.00. So I leave the car did not hear a word from them all day, when I went to pick car up there was an issue. The AC was making a ringing noise which it was not doing at first and there was a part they needed and stated they would get it from junk yard Sunday and bring car back Monday. He even gave me his cell phone number and I texted him Sunday making sure he got part. He stated yes bring car in. I did such Monday when I arrived to check on car again another issue. I'm like really! They keep the car and I return Tuesday same thing another issue. This time they promised me it would be ready the next day. Now they are saying something electrical and they take to dealership get diagnosis and then fix it! Are you out of your FREAKING MIND! I am very angry and upset. They tried to tell me they spent 500 dollars replacing parts without my consent. I am disappointed with the lack of service and when I ask for owner they always state he is not there. If the owner is reading this I want you to contact me because I am filing a complaint with the BBB and I will continue to write ugly reviews until a solution is granted. I have been a loyal customer for many years and have taken my car to this place for other repairs but that was when the old crew was there. This crew now SUCKS!! The manager is a liar! I have used this company for several years. Recently I discovered that the last time I had my oil changed there they did not do a proper job.. this caused some problems with my car and unexpected repair cost that could have been avoided. They charged me for an oil filter when it was in all actuality never replaced. .They damaged that oil fiter trying to remove and when they could not remove it they left it on the car. I called them to discuss the problem and the owner was rude, uncaring and hung up on me. She even encouraged me to vintage the bbb. I would never recommended anyone using this place if they don't want to have to replace a motor 2 months later. read more
