Great customer service and great food. Feels homey and everything was very tasty. Definitely one of my favorite spots to stop by after a long hike.

Great find! Really enjoyed dinner here so much that we came two nights in a row! I've never had Katsudon with teriyaki sauce on top but it worked and tasted great! The highlight though was the Seafood Chanpone that my wife ordered! The ambiance is simple but the owners are Korean and were wonderful hosts! I might come back to Yosemite just to eat here again! Especially the Chanpone!

Personally I think it's 3.75 / 5 A nice friendly place to grab some comfort and familiar East Asian food after a long day of trip. I love my salmon poke bowl, it's light yet flavorful, I'm not sure what is the sauce for my poke bowl, definitely not spicy mayo, but I love it, sort of vinegary, brings out my appetite. It also comes with a miso soup, I love it! Spring rolls are hard to go wrong, be careful with the hot stuffing. Also if you don't like or not sure about eel sauce, do mention that beforehand. Tempura rolls are a bit dry for the rice, there are drizzled with eel sauce, if you're strict vegetarian or you're not sure what eel sauce is, may as well ask for sauce on the side.

Ordered the combo a , udon, rainbow roll, pink roll and the agedashi tofu . Staff got our food out fairly fast and our waitress was very sweet. Got asked multiple times if everything was OK. Food it fairly average, im from orange county and we have a lot of amazing japanese restaurants so it seems unfair to compare a place so secluded to that. I thought the nigiri and the udon the best items we had. The sauces for the tempura and agedashi were fairly plain and could use more sodium and sugar . Overall not bad ,just nothing I'd rave about .

Bento Beef Dinner Box, Yosemite Roll

Great dinner! We got a bento dinner box for a nice variety. The food was really good, and the staff was so kind! Would eat again :)

I love this place as the restaurant is clean and the food portion is great and the food as well. Service is great by asking like anything we need so it was so welcoming. We ordered two things kyoto bulgogi and beef teriyaki bento box. Both are pretty good. 8/10

Matsumoto Samurai's Kitchen, Oakhurst: 2025 Nov 5 (5 of 5)…read more To say today is my lucky day is an understatement. I've been craving Hamachi for weeks, then I saw a post on face book that Matsumoto Samurai's Kitchen in Oakhurst is offering Hamachi Plate today. It's a rare opportunity and I immediately called in to reserve my order. Chef's hamachi today was excellent. The light pink colour has a natural sheen, and the texture is firm yet buttery. His preparation was perfect, allowing the fish to show off its rich and slightly sweet flavour. There is hardly any fishy aroma. I could eat this on its own but my order came with rice and Japanese omelette. The Japanese omelette was tender and slightly custardy in texture, well-seasoned, and has a sweet note. Green salad and ponzu sauce were also included in my order of Hamachi Plate. I devoured every morsel of it. That's how delicious everything was. I know that chefs Yuji and Veronique take great pride in their cooking because it shows in the food they prepare and serve. Thank you, chefs, for continuing to offer the local community and tourists your wonderful cuisine.

We were starving by the time we finally got our food, everything was fried since we decided to get their sampler platter and fried calamari. The food was pretty decent, I think I just got sick of it pretty fast because everything felt very heavy. I would probably only come back for the views next time I'm in the area, and get some drinks and light apps!

The food and prices both completely exceeded our expectations. I ordered the lasagna, and my wife had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were absolutely huge, and the portions for both dishes were more than generous. The lasagna was exactly the style I love -- not overly soupy, with perfectly cooked noodles and great flavor throughout. We also ordered a caprese salad and four adult beverages, and our total bill was only around $100, which was surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The food was bland and lacked flavor across the board. My daughter's chicken was poorly trimmed and had visible fat on it. My own meal didn't arrive with the rest of the table because the wrong plate was brought out, and it had to be remade. By the time I received my correct dish, everyone else was halfway through their meal. Service was also lacking. We had to ask multiple times for drink refills, and there was no acknowledgment, apology, or attempt to make things right after the delays and food issues. For a restaurant that is only open limited hours each week, we expected a much higher level of quality and attention. Sadly, this was one of the worst Italian dining experiences we've had. We hope management takes steps to improve both food quality and customer service.

We knew that it would be costly but can still be a surprise when the bill arrives, watch out for the drinks We only ordered what we had seen reviewed and listened to our servers recommendations. There are a few things we plan to go back and try though. Based on his recommendation we tried the scallop temaki and it was delicious but we still really want to try the scallop spoons. Everyone talked about the sushi so we tried the house Iza Sake roll, it was good but honestly didn't blow us away. So many reviews told us to splurge on the Wagu A-5 hot rock lettuce wraps. It was fun to have them cooked in front of us and the meat was buttery, I would say to save your money. Let them cook your fried rice in front of you for the ambiance and you get more for less money. It also has Wagu beef. We also tried the bone marrow and we liked it but I do believe it's an acquired taste. We had two mixed drinks the Hibiscus Shoga, very good, but a bit too sweet. Then the Kohahu Carmel Old Fashioned which was a recommendation and we love old fashions. This was good but way too sweet for us. I do recommend the Kurosawa Nigori. We plan to return to try the spoons and seafood risotto and maybe the lobster temaki. Also recommend going earlier than later. We had an 8pm reservation and the grill was cleaned at 9pm so it was a surprise to have the kitchen closed so early.
