Very upscale modern Japanese restaurant. Delightful staff full of energy. Started with the avocado salad. Just wow. So fresh and perfectly balanced. Fresh avocado, greens, goat cheese and a crispy surprise teases the palate. The short ribs was definitely meant to be shared. A very generous precut smoked rib presented with three sauces. Pickles. Wasabi and leafy greens for wrapping. The meat was so tender that I cut it with my chopsticks. At every turn someone was taking empty plates, refilling glasses and asking if everything is OK. Great food. Interesting asian fusions and fun food options. I will say is that the wagyu rib cap was NOT worth it. $132 for some steak that just tasted like steak. Also the tuna crispy rice was salty, and the tuna was so finely ground, it was like a purée which just didn't sit right with how soft the texture was. It would have been miles better if it was just finely diced... The corn ribs and wagyu tartare were great. What a wonderful dining experience. Our server Blake was helpful, kind, and attentive. We came in specifically for the King Crab... I wasn't expecting it to be crusted which is probably just me not reading the description. I think I might have preferred it just boiled, without the crust. Of all we ordered this was my least favorite, even though it was the reason we visited. The Korean fried Chicken was amazing. The sweet potato was incredible. We also had the short rib. Delish! It was steep at $88, but very good. They had 3 sauces to try but it was very difficult to use the sauce. Perhaps 3 small spoon would have been helpful and more user friendly. The spoons on the table were just too big to use. The Chef suggested making lettuce wraps, but unfortunately, they didn't provide enough lettuce for the amount of meat. We had requested more lettuce which was brought out right away. Unfortunately, when the bill came I noticed they charged me $4 for the extra lettuce. I understand I did order something extra, over and beyond, but I think after purchasing an $88 entree, they might throw in the extra lettuce complimentary or told me the upcharge in advance. Same with the water when we sat down. they offered still or sparkling, We requested still, but did not know we'd be charged $11 for the bottle. Halfway though the meal I was getting more thirsty but didn't request more water since I was thinking I'd be charged. I have been to other restaurants what was more clear on the prices saying "would you like sparkling or still for $11 a bottle, or complimentary tap water?". Of course, since I don't eat at restaurants like this often, it likely was just me being a bit out of my league. We ordered so much that we asked to take out leftovers home. My thought is that most people visiting are tourists taking their leftovers to their hotel room. I think including some napkins and plastic forks would have been nice so we didn't need to use our fingers back in the room - LOL read more

An elegant restaurant with excellent customer service and great food. We had two cocktails, the king crab fried rice, Korean fried chicken and bao buns. The cocktails were refreshing. Fried rice was interesting with a crunchy taste. Fried chicken was juicy and bao buns with pork belly was yummy. The service was excellent with multiple people including a manager checking up on us. We dined at KYU and had 5pm reservations. We showed up 10 minutes or so prior to the reservation and walked in the unlocked door. We were promptly tossed out bc "We don't open until 5". A little rudely to be frank. We had already pre-paid for the beef cap dinner (don't make this mistake, dear reader) so we returned at 5pm. We were sat and I ordered a bottle of sake from the menu. They had some difficulty in locating that bottle for whatever reason, but eventually did. We had the hamachi crudo (great), the Kumamoto oysters (also great) and the pork belly bao buns (not great, just ok). For entree's we had the pre-paid for beef cap. We have had beef cap many times but never one as chewy and flavorless as this protein. Couldn't even finish it. Also we ordered the bone marrow which was quite good. I understand this is Vegas and all meals are expensive but for a nearly $700 meal to serve that beef cap (which you had to pre order and give a credit card for) is just short of criminal. As I was eating dinner, a very tall bald man who i assume to be the manager, was YELLING (loud enough that I made eye contact with the table nearest to me) at an employee. No one should be spoken to like that, especially by leadership. I will not be coming back here to support someone who runs a business this way. Do better. read more

Our dinner at Kyu at was absolutely insane. One of the best dinners we've ever had. It was a set menu that was 9 courses consisting of krunchy kale, krispy rice, stone pot Thai rice, roasted cauliflower, Korean fried chicken, Japanese sweet potato, grilled broccoli, beef short rib and a s'mores chocolate cake with ice cream. I also had the YAKI IMO TINI which is a miso butter washed shochu, japanese sweet potato, okinawa black sugar, parmesan cheese oat milk foam. Overall i would give this dining experience a 4 out of 5. The things I liked were the overall ambiance of the restaurant and the service as far as filling drinks and so forth were great. The quality of the food is good, but it did not wow me and actually after watching many of the youtubers and bloggers show this restaurant it was a slight disappointment. The beef rib was good, but coming from Texas it basically tastes like a good brisket from any Texas BBQ joint. The wagyu tartare was probably the highlight with the presentation, but again nothing I would make a special trip for. The korean fried chicken was also actually very good, but afterall it is just chicken. The pork ribs were also good, but the food came out so slow which is one of my other complaints that I was pretty full by the time they came out. If you are staying at Fountainebleu it is definitely worth a try, but especially in Vegas I think there are a ton of other options for Asian cuisine at a much lower price point. read more

My daughter, her boyfriend, and I came because I saw some vlogs about it. One was great, the other so-so, so had to check out. The place is Modern, open, kind of dark, and fairly busy. Nice ambiance but a bit noisy. Tables around the perimeter for smaller parties, and larger tables in middle. Thought it Would be more casual but most people came a little more dressed up. We had: -Chardonnay, Pink Puppy, Sake Bomb (mango flavor). They were just ok. 7/10 -cauliflower. Not sure why others said it was bland. It was delicious with the sauce. 9/10 -duck breast. Delicious. Sliced and med rare in a sauce. Cooked well (not chewy) and very smoky in taste. 10/10 -sea bass. Delicious. it's not a big piece. 10/10 -short rib. Delicious and fork tender. The only issue is that I expected a charred top like the pictures. Ours was brown and flaccid top. 9/10 -dessert=s'mores cake and banana bourbon ice cream. Ok, the banana flavor did taste like fake banana and an odd combo With the cake. 7/10 Service was excellent. This was a wonderful place to eat! read more

Our gamble for restaurant week paid off! We had dinner which was 3 courses. Turned out to be plenty of food; our waiter explained to us that the dishes are family style. Favorite was the pork belly pastrami. Moist and fluffy buns, punchy sauces, pickled asian vegetables, all great accompaniments to the melt-in-your mouth pork belly. It's bao buns with a pickle-y mustard-y twist and executed well. Bulgogi grilled octopus - tender, the egg yolk on top was rich with great texture, not to mention seaweed/fish egg rice toppings, but all together the dish was a tad salty. We saved this one to finish at home. Tuna crispy rice had such yummy tuna. So fine that I thought it a pollack roe paste for a second. Rice was nice and crispy, but so tall that we had difficultly eating it. The savory dishes are great, but the dessert sets this place apart. Save room. The coconut cake and smores alone would have us back there. The bananas foster ice cream was refreshing yet banana forward, a great accompaniment to the crumbly molten smore cake which was so tender it's a wonder it held up so well on my fork. Coconut cake... coconut and cheesecake had a baby and you want to see it. Located near the hotel entrance, there's tall glass windows and plenty vegetation as part of the decor. The filet was only 4 pieces but tender and filling, dog ate most of it. The ribs were absolutely the best i've had anywhere on the strip. The bartender Cadara was very personable and awesome. My friends and I had our New Year's Eve dinner here. It was all our first time trying this place. The interior design is stunning, and the food offered a unique combination of Western and Asian cuisine. The prices were reasonable for the portions provided. However, the service was terrible. As we were a big group, we couldn't fit at one table, so we were split into two. The hostess seated some of us at a high table and the others at a normal one. We requested to be transferred to another table, but she claimed it was reserved. Despite the restaurant not being busy and there being plenty of empty tables, she still denied our request.
