We ended up ordering a few of the classic cocktails along with several bartender's choice drinks based on the flavors we told him we enjoyed. I believe our bartender was Capano, and he did an incredible job. His recommendations were spot-on, and every drink had amazing flavor and was perfectly balanced. The combinations worked so well together, and you could tell a lot of thought went into each cocktail. The service was fantastic, the drinks were excellent, and the entire experience was worth the trip. Definitely recommend checking out Nocturno if you're down in the Arts District. We'll absolutely be back!

Our waitress was super friendly and really encouraged us to try some things because we really weren't sure about the menu. She was super attentive and we really appreciated that. The reason I'm giving this a three star review (and I feel bad doing so) is because I genuinely hated the drinks. Like viscerally hated. The menu really was a struggle as someone who's a gin drinker. There wasn't a lot on the menu which I'm often used to, but the drinks were either cloyingly sweet or incredibly tart and bitter. There seems to lack of balance and there were a lot of really weird flavors that really didn't seem to go together. Now I can't speak on every single drink on the menu, but I did try a couple that are either premixed or on tap and I really struggled with them. I was excited about the ginger drink, and I was given a taste of their homemade ginger beer, and it felt like it was going to burn a hole through my stomach. Which is typically not my reaction to anything gender flavored. I just think the balance of flavors are not quite right and so certain things overpowered other flavors. I ended up really not wanting anything on the menu because everything was so rum based and I really don't like rum, so they offered to make me a cocktail with some flavors that I liked. They told me they had passionfruit, which I was really excited about. It usually is a really nice combination of sweet but not too sweet and good fruity flavor. I had a passionfruit gin drink made, and it was absolutely gorgeous coming out. Unfortunately, what I didn't know was that the passionfruit that they have is on the very sour and tart side (contained by a staff member later), which has never been my experience with passionfruit in the past. One of the things that I told the waitress was that I really don't like sour. I like citrus but not something that is so overly sour that it tastes like I'm eating a warhead. And the drink that was made for me had both lemon and this really tart passionfruit to the point all I could taste was this awful sour flavor. I felt bad and drank it and was not about to ask it off the bill because they were so kind about everything. The drink ended up only being nine dollars and I genuinely wonder if they undercharged me, but I felt a lot better that that's all I paid for it. Aesthetically it was beautiful, but it tasted horrible. I tried my friends drink, which was a play on a margarita with Mezcal, and that was also incredibly bitter and sour. I'm not someone who needs disgustingly sweet drinks, hence me not liking rum, but I do need a balance of sweetness with the other flavors. My friend thought her drink was OK, but she said she wouldn't order it again. I would definitely give this location another shot if I could figure out a drink that would work, but it seems their drinks either are very sour or very sweet and I'm hoping that at some point they will be able to find a good balance between the two.

It is comfy, cozy, and an amazing place to just chill and hang out. The music is always perfect. The lighting is the perfect dark dim. I have never felt more at home somewhere in my life. It is my happy place. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. If I go there it makes me happy! I absolutely love that they have a mocktail menu and that they rotate the drinks every season. I don't drink and also a lot of my friends don't either and their mocktail menu is a winner every single time, I've never had a drink there that I did not enjoy. I can't remember what I got, but 1 of my friends got the spicy drink that comes in a skull glass with 2 peppers to look like horns, loved the presentation! We had great service from the hostess to the bartender! There was a place across the way playing live music, so that was nice in the space. Not sure if we could hear music out there without it. Pro: Fear and Loathing menu, updated furniture, yummy drinks…read more Con: Not the previous Laundry Room you remembered, glorified tourist trap, lack of atmosphere control. Slow drink service. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.

We visited KYU this past Saturday night to celebrate a birthday, and while the food was fantastic, the service left much to be desired. When we checked in with the host, I mentioned it was my friend's birthday, hoping for a warm acknowledgment. Instead, the host seemed distant and unengaging, which didn't make us feel welcome. First impressions matter, and this one wasn't great. Once seated, the service continued to be inconsistent. After placing our drink orders, we waited over 15 minutes for someone to take our food order. It got to the point where we had to ask another staff member if they were short-staffed. Our server eventually returned with our cocktails, but they were extremely watered down and lacked flavor. We returned them and ordered different drinks, which were slightly better but still mild. If lighter cocktails are a theme here, it would be helpful to let guests know upfront. We decided to try the KYU Experience, as it seemed like a great way to sample a variety of dishes. However, when we asked to share one KYU Experience between the two of us, we were told that every person at the table had to order one. This didn't make sense to us, especially since the concept is described as "family-style sharing." If everyone gets the same items, how is that sharing? It felt unnecessarily rigid and not well thought out, especially for smaller groups. That said, the food itself was excellent. From the crispy kale chips and roasted cauliflower to the tuna tartare, brisket, and Korean fried chicken, every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. Because we HAD to get two KYU experiences, we ended up with a lot of leftovers. The Vietnamese tiramisu was also a standout and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, while the food at KYU was impressive, the service could use some improvement. The host lacked warmth, and the KYU Experience rules didn't align with the idea of sharing. Our server was friendly and helpful when present, but the wait times and lack of attentiveness detracted from the experience. I'd recommend KYU for the food, but I hope they address these issues to create a more welcoming and accommodating atmosphere. read more

My wife and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday night and opted for the tasting menu. While the ambiance was stunning and the service was solid, the food was unfortunately a letdown, especially given the steep price point. Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a sleek, modern aesthetic that makes for a great dining atmosphere. The service was attentive, though the pacing of the drinks could have been improved--they drinks didn't always align well with the dishes. Krunchy Kale & Rice Stone Pot - our favorite dishes of the night. The kale was unique and the rice stone pot warm and tasty. Tuna Crispy Rice - The fish tasted overly fishy, lacking the freshness you'd expect from a high-end restaurant. Roasted Cauliflower - Marketed as a "restaurant favorite," but it felt like a basic roasted cauliflower dish--something I could throw in the oven at home. At $32, it was particularly underwhelming. Fried Chicken - Tasty but not particularly unique; nothing that stood out beyond any well-executed fried chicken. Not worth $36. Brisket - The biggest disappointment. It was incredibly dry, making it tough to enjoy. Japanese Sweet Potato - The sweet potato itself was good, but the excessive buttered sugar topping overwhelmed the dish. Tiramisu - Way too creamy, to the point where it became one-dimensional. I could only manage one bite. We spent $400 (including tax and tip), but based on the food quality, I'd say the meal was worth $150 - $200 at best. Dining at Kyu at the Fontainebleau is always a memorable experience, not only because of the exceptional food but because of the way the staff makes you feel the moment you arrive. The atmosphere is modern and welcoming, and every dish that comes out of the kitchen is prepared with incredible care and flavor. What truly sets Kyu apart, however, is the service. Hospitality here isn't just a word -- it's a standard that is clearly embraced by the team. Eric is an outstanding manager who leads with professionalism and genuine warmth. He goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels not just accommodated, but truly valued. Ray is also phenomenal -- attentive, personable, and always ready to help with anything you may need. Together, they create a level of comfort and welcome that is rare to find, even in a luxury destination. The food is consistently delicious -- fresh, beautifully presented, and full of unique flavors that keep me coming back. It didn't feel overly pretentious in large part due to the servers who were very kind and attentive. I was even escorted to the restroom when I asked where it was. Like most Chinese restaurants, the dishes here are meant to be shared. They even give you two different colored sets of chopsticks so one can be used for sharing food and the other used for eating. Genius! If you're thirsty and like tequila, get the Three Treasures ($24). It's very unique and not too sweet. To start the meal, they gave us a tasty sea bass puree amuse bouche. We then got the Field Greens Peking Duck ($26.88) which was a smaller portion than expected but nicely plated. The duck was so savory with a crisp skin and paired well with the truffle vinaigrette dressing on the salad. General Tao's Chicken ($41.88) was not as special but prepared well and not greasy. To go with it, we ordered the Iberico Pork Fried Rice ($29.88) and it was so flavorful. We weren't planning on ordering dessert, but they provided complimentary petit fours that included mini lychee macarons, yuzu jellies and something chocolate which was a nice surprise. And also mini pomegranate cakes to take home! They were the first Chinese restaurant in North America to receive a Michelin star and I can see why.
