FInally decided to stop by this new LA brisket place. I got a brisket salad for $19.95 and BF got the brisket bowl. We were given a free sample of the brisket and decided to try. Both the salad and the bowl have the same amount of brisket (6 ounces) the salad was a LOT you have your choice of 4 salads. I choose argula, romaine, cole slaw, potato salad and they topped it with mushrooms and walnuts and almonds and a house dressing. I did noy finish the salad it was delicious. The brisket was tender, juicy, good proportion of meat to fat and came wirh side of chimichurri sauce. It was tasty and delicious. The service was quick and since this is the food court its always bustling. The free samples lures customers in since it is good. The prices can be considered a little steep but its in line with other vendors at the food court. The 2 person show behind the counter seemed a little disorganized at times but were friendly. Food is good but one thing that is absolutely maddening is their $.75 charge per sauce which I'd normally be fine with but the fact they charge $.75 per sauce and the already tiny sauce is only filled a forth, maybe a third of the way is absolutely absurd. Again food is good but the price of the sauce combined with the amount they give is just downright insulting. Probably never going back ever again. Ridiculous policy on their sauces which is needed to truly enjoy their food. Absolute highway robbery. I understand the price of food has risen and businesses need to turn a profit and Im more than willing to pay for food, but to nickel and dime patrons over sauce is unacceptable. read more

The star of their menu is the great brisket cut, though they offer pulled pork and chicken as well as alternatives. They have several sides to add or swap in for a small additional charge. I think their garlic rice also contains vinegar, but my palette isn't foodie-chef level to know for sure. The mac and cheese and slaw also a bit more on the sour side (vinegar or sour cream? not sure), but if you're looking for something different then take a risk here as the portions are big and the food is well made. read more

Their brisket bowl is fantastic! The brisket is cooked very well, and was tender and flavorful, and wasn't dry at all! The rice had a subtle garlic flavor to it and paired perfectly with the brisket. The server giving out free samples was very kind also, giving everyone in my family free samples, including the kids. And I gotta say, that kind of sold me. I'm from Orange County CA and this places beats out some of the "BBQ" places in CA. Definitely a must try if you're shopping around and want some good BBQ. read more

2nd time coming for the 405. The Brisket hits hard in the mouth and wallet . If you guys knocked $3 off everything entree you would be at market value. I feel like for what you get it is over priced. I can't have any mail so instead of letting me supplement a salad I had to get three scoops of garlic rice, which didn't actually contain any garlic but a lot of garlic flavor. The brisket was OK lots of fat and gristle on the pieces I was given, and when I actually got down to the meat that was good to eat it was decent flavor, but I'm from Texas so I have a high expectation with brisket. The sample I was given was delicious, which is why I tried the bowl, but for the amount I got and for the amount I paid which was $22. I felt like it was way overpriced. Yes it is pricey, but that's almost a lot of the places here in O'ahu nei.. but the quality is good. I'd love to give it 5 star but I think it's missing something to keep the quality of the food and that 'something'.. I recommend the 401 and the regular brisket plate as the rice is garlic rice. The 401 sandwich (with American cheese, sorry can't do bleu cheese) is so good and juicy.. don't forget to add waffle fries, it is underrated. Let me know what you think. Very convenient for me to go here as I work in the mall. I like to order the brisket bowl. My husband also liked the brisket and had me order again the next day after the first try. The garlic fried rice has a subtle garlic taste but is very tasty. The meat is so soft and tender, melts in your mouth. I've ordered almost all the sides except for the fries? The elote was really delicious with good flavor. The beans are also really tasty especially when eating it with the rice. The green sauce that comes with your bowl is interesting in taste but somehow works with the meat. I think the only thing I don't care for much is the coleslaw. It's mostly just red cabbage with some kind of sauce or brine which makes it a little bitter but otherwise, everything else is great. The workers are very friendly and even offer samples of the meat. There's usually a guy that's cutting the meat. Maybe the owner? He's super friendly and kind and is always willing to chat a bit about the business. They are located at the corner near the exit of the food court towards curry house and Jollibee so that area does flood but they have a big space infront of them while you wait for your food. The ambiance is like another area in the foodcourt since it's wide open space so you'll be surrounded by other people while waiting. read more

What a disappointment! This establishment is no where close to what it was a year ago. I must've been standing there for a good 5mins for someone to acknowledge me and offer a sample. To make it worse, the lady who was showing a worker how to cut the brisket shouts out, "sample" "anyone" wants to sample?" Attempts to lean over and hand it to a customer that just walked up..the other worker looks at me and asked, "Did you wanna sample?" I look at him, "ahhh yes please?" The lady holding the sample says, "oh I thought you're waiting for an order"...NEVER ASSUME! Also, with F&B especially, you need to acknowledge, greet, and inquire as soon as your customer approaches the counter/area. This place is a disgrace now from what it was. It was never like this when they first opened. Up until last Summer, I've never experienced anything like this. As for the brisket, you're not cutting pineapple. You're SLICING brisket. My brisket was in chunks. It was a little tough and honestly a little hard to eat. You shouldn't need to cut into it so you're able to bite/chew your brisket. I don't know if I'll return. If you do want to try this establishment, I highly advise you to tell them ahead how to slice it and give you the proper portions of what consists in a bowl. I was pulled into trying this place out by the offer of a sample of brisket. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I got a $19 bowl which came with Garlic Rice, Brisket, Slaw and some Salsa Verde. Overall, the bowl was good, however, the slaw wasn't the greatest and gave off a weird bitter taste. For the price of the bowl, I would have appreciated a little more brisket and perhaps another side. I just don't think it's worth it. read more

Yesterday, Wednesday, Dec 11, 2024, out of curiosity, I tried their free sample and it tasted good. This is in Ala Moana Shopping Center Food Court. In order to have the taste of all their entrèes, I ordered the Aloha Plate (it's a combination of their beef brisket, chicken and pulled-pork). The plate comes with coleslaw, 2 scoops of rice and their green salsa & sweet smoked bbq sauce. I also ordered a side of mac salad for additional $6. Nothing fantastic about their mac salad. It's a bit old and watery? The chicken was dry and bland, the beef brisket is okay in taste but I have to remove the fats, and the pulled-pork was a disaster. As I watched the lady scooped my portions, I observed that there were several flies in the pulled-pork container. All of their meat entrèes were uncovered and you can see flies all over the service area. I commented that there were flies floating in the container and the lady using her serving spoon, scooped all the flies from the container one at a time and put the affected pork portion in the trash. She served my portion from that same container full of dead flies! I was shocked!!! They drowned in the sauce. I was adamant to take it but already paid $32. When I was about to eat the pork, I had a second thought and couldn't move my fork, I found dead fly trapped in between the pork threads. My bad! I was so stupid! I didn't eat anymore and throw the food in the trash bin. As I walked out of the food court, I went back to LA Brisket (had this feeling of "I have to say something...) and told the lady who served my food about the fly in my pulled pork. I didn't request for a refund but made sure that they know the incident and will practice proper food handling next time. As I reported this to her, she just thanked me. I have been eating in Ala Moana Center Food Court, and I observed, many times, that flies are everywhere and the operations manager/in-charge doesn't do a thing. Also, you will experience the foul smell coming out from the open door of their maintenance room in between Sing Ma Tei and Jamba Juice Store. Nasty foul odor! I will never go back to LA Brisket. First, the guy behind the counter offered us samples. Once we tried the brisket, we were sold! Tender and tasty. We had the 710 sandwich. Just the meat on a tasty brioche bun. (Sorry, I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture.) It was perfect. Both the bun and the brisket were tasty enough to eat on their own. They're located in the food court which, IMHO, is the wrong location. Too crowded, too much competition, and too high rent... cuts into their profit margin and forces prices up. Their product is on the pricey side to begin with, so the high rent makes it tough. We paid $16 for our sandwich. Given the above, I would definitely return and order the same thing! read more

I tried their sandwich previously, and it was alright for the price, but i would recommend asking for light aioli due to how much they put on. I took a bite and a full tablespoon dropped into the carryout box. I got the bowl with brisket the next time I went and the brisket they served was very low on smoke flavor and mushy texture. The rice and salsa overpowered the flavor of the meat as well. The coleslaw just reminded me of rinsed cabbage with how much flavor was present. I found out that they don't do substitutions on the bowls despite all the sides being the same price point. The staff are pretty friendly and the chef talked to me a little about what they served. He was very excited about BBQ which was nice to see at a BBQ place. read more

I ordered a la carte thank God I tried it once it's good enough for me. I had the pulled pork and baked beans and a Coke Zero which they called they're only size. which I would call a small. The pulled pork wasn't flavorful it was rather dry at all it was like somebody just ripped it off the bone and that's what you got chunks. It didn't allow the flavor to soak into the meat. The beans they were okay but you need something else to go with it. They gave sauce for the pork but if you put it on one piece it wasn't enough for the rest which made it very dry and very disappointing. I will go to that place 808 something, or was that other place when it starts with a D. I guess the staff didn't feel that it was important enough to make it somewhat presentable. If you had a choice and I did Jack in the Box would have been a better option. I wish I took pictures. I'd skip this place rather expensive hope they get the menu better. read more
