mushrooms flavor and some kind of sauce as it was a bit dry. Dor main course we shared beef strip loin and farmers salmon. Unexpectedly the salmon turned out to be the better dish, the pea sauce paired so well with the flavor of the salmon, while the beef was good but not as good as the salmon. We were celebrating a bday, but we we really didnt see any items on the dessert menu that called our attention. So we only order 1 dessert so we could sing happy bday for the family picture. Had a great time, great service and everyone agreed the food was very good.

The beef tartare was excellent- love the smoke in the glass dome, and the Parmesan crisps it came with. They really give it something extra Scallop appetizer- they were perfectly cooked and atop something delicious as well. Maybe a...

bit too much sweet for me in this dish with the jam and bacon, but at least it was packed with flavor and interesting. The squid ink spaghetti with uni butter, shrimp and calamari was wow. Definitely one of my favorite dishes of the evening. I would order it as an entree, it was so perfect. I'd skip the corn crème brûlée dessert though- it was too sweet for my liking (though I love the idea). It would have been better if they torched sprinkled sugar over the top like traditional creme brûlée before serving, the popcorn on top was a little soggy/stale tasting and it might be because it was cold/the temperature. Overall- I'm really impressed with their flavors and textures. The chef clearly thinks about all of the essential components of a cohesive, flavorful, exciting dish. Most of the dishes had great balance, as well as visual appeal! Service was friendly, and ambiance was romantic/charming. I would love to go again!

body than the menu description would suggest. The Arctic char entree was yummy and the fish was perfectly cooked. Even better was the chicken breast which, on our September visit, was literally everything you would want from such a dish: moist meat with crispy skin, great flavor, supported by a white bean fricasee that made the dish feel at once fancy and like comfort food. And definitely order a side of the crushed potato; you won't be sorry. Our only complaint is about the service, which is uneven--though consistently friendly. On our first visit, there appeared to be three different hosts; eventually it became clear that the table was not ready, so they offered us a spot in a corner and some wine, and 15 minutes later we were seated. Things felt slightly more organized on the second visit. But everyone we have interacted with is incredibly friendly, which at least balances out the occasional sense of confusion. And the food makes it all worthwhile.

What a lovely spot and experience at l'accolade. This restaurant recently opened up in the west village and known for their french small plates and fantastic wine. There's a very nice outdoor space with great lighting in the back of the restaurant. We first sat out here until we were eaten alive by mosquitos and had to change indoors. L'accolade has a great happy hour - they have wine off and appetizers off. Our server was really nice and detailed about our menu. We ordered a variety of food. Highlights below: Cheese gougères - this was at every table and wow, this was good. It has jalapeño bites in them and it was freshly prepared. Very delicious and would recommend Grain salad - such a lovely way to start the meal. Lots of veggies over warm grains.

Wow, what a place! I had the opportunity to visit L'Accolade to get drinks with a friend. I had been researching authentic French restaurants in the West Village and this one was one of the most highly recommended spots. I made a reservation for two for Friday evening at 8 PM. They have both an indoor and outdoor patio area. We opted for the outdoor patio which is a bit small, but made for a nice intimate feel. When it came time to order I ended up going with the Le Pierre-André cocktail ($15). This gin based cocktail had an earl-gray base with elderflower which made it surprisingly refreshing. Since this was during COVID times we were also required to purchase something to eat.

We decided to go with the arctic char crude ($18) which was a fish cake with beets, avocado, and citrus. I was also surprisingly refreshing and light! I'd visit L'Accolade for a special night out with friends or a S/O.

Just another comfortably elegant French restaurant that modernizes classics. The tartare was perfect served with lettuce and crackers. Three of us ordered duck that came with a nod to the classic orange sauce. The birthday mousse au chocolat was almost as nice as the voices of the staff who joined my colleagues in song. As we were leaving, the people at the bar were so warm and friendly we almost stayed for another drink.

L'Accolade is a really lovely spot with attentive, polished service and a calm, cozy vibe. The honey glazed carrots are outstanding and easily the highlight of the meal. Everything else has been more hit or miss for me. On my second visit, the food felt noticeably more average than the first. The beef tartar in particular tasted a little off, though I did appreciate the generous amount of quail eggs. I still enjoy the experience here and the staff does a great job. I just wish the rest of the menu consistently matched how strong that one dish is.

The chicken skin was very crispy and the meat was fall off the bone tender. The downside is I felt the meal was overwhelmingly salty. The staff was incredibly friendly!

As far as cute West Village restaurants go, L'Accolade is above average. It ticks the boxes for ambience (cozy and quaint), service (friendly and French) and food (tasty and interesting). Plus, if you come by for Happy Hour (which runs until 7pm), you can actually save some moolah. How about that? We indulged in a dozen $1.50 HH raw oysters (which you can get with a required purchase of glasses of wine at $14 each). The oysters were large and chilled, as fresh as one could ask for on an urban island. The Hiramasa Crudo was a zesty and generously portioned slice of summer seafood, while the Beef Carpaccio was a heartier and even more genersouly portioned red meat counterpart. The addition of bottarga and castelvetrano olives was a particularly nice touch. Entree-wise, you can't go wrong with either the fork-tender Branzino Grenobloise or the lavish Barbecue Braised Beef Paleron, which comes loaded with white cheddar grits, braised collard greens, pickled fresno, spiced pecans. Not that I'm complaining, but I don't quite get how that's at all French? Oh well. L'Accolade is the kind of reliable neighborhood spot that knows its audience and doesn't punch above its weight. In a city saturated with try-hards and wannabes, that's just plain refreshing.

Loved our dining experience here. Beautiful modern ambience and lighting. Outdoor patio was also so cute, sadly they didn't have any table there. Service was great, our servant was nice, attentive but also gave us space to enjoy your meal. Food came out a bit slow but it's European and I appreciate they didn't rush us through our meal & kick us out. But our drinks also took awhile to arrive... - Sprit Frais and Gin&Tonic: both good. - Hiramasa Crudo: fresh & tasty - Pork chop: great flavor, perfectly cooked. - Pekin duck breast: loved it! The duck was cooked perfectly. The sides just added so much more flavor and texture to the meal, it was an overall well balanced and tasty dish. - Dessert (banana cream something): was just ok, could skip it.

This is my second time here and both times the food was delicious. This time we came a bit earlier and we made it for happy hour. We had the oysters - fresh and briny, mushroom risotto arancini - not much mushroom taste, cheese plate and Boquerones - anchovies were good and briny. For appetizer we had the seared scallop which was delicious. Tender and perfectly seasoned. Tuna crudo and beef tartar was also delicious. For the main we shared the beef strip loin and the Salmon. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse. My daughter loved it but she do say she did not taste the raspberry that was listed on the menu. Service throughout the meal was superb. Overall a great meal and I would definitely be back.

Not Asian friendly unless accompanied by white friends ‍ The food was really good, portion was very small, and the service was horrible. [Food] We ordered Pappardelle, Honey & Harissa Glazed Carrots, and two of their cocktail drinks from the menu. There were two pricing option for Pappardelle ($22/$28) and we ordered the $28 entree one. Despite paying for the main dish, the portion of Pappardelle was surprisingly very small. We still really enjoyed pappardelle and the drinks. The Glazed Carrots were good too but nothing special. Everything was going well with the foods, but the terrible service made our good dining experience to not wanting to come back here again. [Service] We were welcomed by host and seated in very corner of the restaurant even though there were many 2 people seatings available. We both thought it was odd being seated in the corner even though there were empty seatings but did not think much of it. Our 2 main dishes (pasta & carrots) and drinks came out first then our complimentary appetizer breads came out when we were already eating the main dish. That didnt bother us much thinking maybe they have forgotten about it. Throughout the whole dining, the blonde European server with high ponytail kept interrupting us to ask if we wanted to order more and if she can take away our dishes. I wouldn't mind if this happened 2 or 3 times but she constantly came by--more than 5 times at least--when we were clearly still eating and having conversations. The server was very disruptive and we felt rushed the whole time. Fyi there were no people waiting and half of the dining hall was empty; available for people to dine. I thought maybe it was because it was close to their closing time and as a person who've worked in food industry before, i know how it feels to close the dining hall. However, when I checked the time on photos, it was 7:52 when the main dishes came out and 9:34 when I took picture of the check before leaving this restaurant. They close at 11pm. it means that the server started to rush us from 8:40~9:00ish which is more than 1hr 30 minutes away from their closing time. There were also 5 tables still dining, some of which were here even before us. On top of that when we got our check the pen wasn't working so ive called the other server who was assisting us too asking if i could get new pen to sign. He snatched the pen out of my hand and scribbled over the postcard they handout and told me it worked and left. However when i tried on receipt paper again, it still didn't work and called him again for assistance. Thats when he yelled at me saying it didnt work because i was not writing on top of the postcard paper and on top of table instead. Really didn't appreciate the unnecessary attitude because he never took time to explain whats wrong with the pen too. I hope these details on our service experience help people out whether deciding to dine here or not.

Really enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant. The happy hour oysters are a great deal if you like oysters, and though I don't eat them, my friend said they were perfectly shucked (he liked them so much, he single-handedly ate 24!) Really great spot for happy hour. We were able to grab the two seats by the window overlooking a cute little street market. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The structure of the restaurant is cute, especially the bar area. The happy hour menu is actually pretty big for happy hour and the prices are great. Except for the starred wines (make sure to look for this), they are all $13/glass and were delicious. We also got the cheese of the day, which was a delicious Camembert. Finally, the oysters were pretty cheap and the mignonette was great. We would love to come back to try more of the menu!

Excellent modern French in the West Village- the 1/3rd portions were generous and creatively prepared, presented and hits all the correct notes. Main dishes are heavy with meat and quality is high. My aged duck breast was prepared perfectly medium rare, juicy and flavorful. The starter Uni Spaghetti is the best I've tasted, and the tuna tartare was sashimi grade. Very reasonable at $80 for 3

This place is fairly new in the Village but it's totally worth a stop. I went with a friend who had been there before and we got there at Happy hour, which includes many wines and appetizers. Jack was super attentive and friendly so was the manager, they were able to accommodate our needs and even get us some items that are not not for happy hour time, the chef and kitchen staff get a lot of credit as well, the chef also sent us some small tasting of his menu and I must say everything I tried was delicious. There is a small patio that I bet it's gonna be very pretty in summer. Thank you, it was a very pleasant visit. read more

IF YOU WANT TO BE KICKED OUT FOR NO REASON, GO FOR IT! WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD I went for a first date at the bar. She was hungover and wanted only water, so I got a soda. 20 min later the owner came in the middle of the date and asked us to leave now without any explanation or reason. We were respectful and the restaurant was quite empty. The only reason was because I only ordered a soda. The owner walked to the front door and rudely asked us to leave right away. I couldn't even finish my drink and we were pushed out So BEWARE THAT YOU COULD BE KICKED OUT AT ANY MOMENT FOR NO REASON read more

I'm going to come back in October and hope to give this place 5 stars. By then I hope what appears to be the foundation of a wonderful restaurant will have all of its kinks worked out. Why do I care? Well the place is lovely. A tasteful oasis in what leans toward a very touristy, BNT neighborhood, but not L'accolade. Lovely lighting, decor with many bar stools and tables that look out to the street. It gives the place a light and airy aura. It does lean toward noisy but in an energetic way. Get here before 7 and enjoy a deep happy hour menu, available at the tables as well. While Fred, the owner finds his legs, it might make sense to only offer this menu and wait to roll out the entrees until the restaurant is more stable. So what gives? The right people have found this place and the food is delicious but execution is the issue right now. The brandade was perfectly salty and lightly crispy. Although the spicy melon app was quite small, the flavors were there. Chili and acid with delicious tomatoes, both ripe and unripe giving such great texture. The gougere are a MUST!! Molten cheese inside the light, flaky pastry. A cheese and charcuterie plate is always nice for sharing, get that on happy hour too. BBQ carrots! Yes, get them. Delicious, sweet, tangy, yum. Lastly we had the lentil and lettuce salad. Loved every bite. On to the wines, really the reason to come. Pretty deep by the glass list in all colors and regions. 3 on happy hour to meet all palates. Try the unusual on skin Pinot Gris. Of course they are known for their natural wines, newest wine trend. So the downside. The kitchen was so backed up, the servers was not attentive to this. No check in, no follow up no bread. We waited a good 20 min before we got even a drink order put in. This was after prompting. Another 25 min before anything else came out, again had to ask. It was at this point that the server brought up all the issues happening at the restaurant instead of asking if he could bring bread or more wine. I watched him chat up the people at the bar the whole Time we were waiting. He never once made eye contact with anyone at our table or stop by to check in. I'm Glad that my vehement, yet calm feedback lead to the owner, Fred, coming out to smooth things over. This was the right thing to do. And because of that we will be back. read more

Nice idea. Poorly executed. Cute new wine bar in the West Village. Cool space and well done. Food is good but portions are very small. Wine selection and wines we tried were very good - best part. However, service is chaotic and borderline bad. Making all of this worse they made a mistake with our bill which they didn't notice until we left. They proceeded to call us 5x throughout the weekend. Trying to fix the problem and screwing it up each time. Upon investigation, they mischarged my credit card then credited it back. Then called to ask for another credit card and charged it a totally unrelated price. The whole thing was bizarre, unprofessional and left a bad taste. Was marginal on the place based on the experience. This bizarre charge situation was enough for me to never need to come back. read more

Great French restaurant, I recommend getting several of the choices on the menu and sharing it between your party. There's so many good choices to choose from and taking little bites of everything really satisfies your pallet. When you finish your entrées I highly recommend getting the desert Vermouth it's so amazing and really complements any dessert that you get. When you're done you don't feel overly stuffed just satisfied which is one of my favorite things at a restaurant. The staff is also amazing they made me laugh the whole night. read more

I showed up for my reservation but got wrongly charged for $120 as the cancellation fee by this restaurant. I emailed them in the morning but got no answer for the whole day. I called them just now but got an arrogant answer that I should wait patiently. This reminds me of my bad experience of dining last Saturday. I have never seen this terrible service in NYC. read more

I'm vegan and I love going out to eat with my non vegan friends. I find it adventurous to go to mainstream restaurants that don't specialize as vegan. OMG i was blown away by the food!!! I had the lettuce and lentil salad which had a mix of flavors that were delicious, fresh and satisfying. The rice and beans dish was off the chain!!! It was a mushroom stock that was so tasty, "meaty" in the depth of the sauce. And the mix of salty sweet between the white beans, black wild rice, and sweet corn.... I can't explain. You have to try it. Truly an amazing mixture of flavors and textures my meat eating friends also enjoyed their charcuterie cheese plates and entrees as well. It did look amazing. Wonderful new place in West Village. My girlfriend and I greeted at the door by several Frenchmen and were seated right away. We ordered the fluke crudo and chicken gnocchi to start and both were impeccable. The fluke was fresh and salty, but the gnocchi is what we'll go back for. We then ordered the duck and arctic char and couldn't decide which was better. They gave plenty of bread to soak up the delicious sauces. One of the best French places I've been too in awhile; we will definitely be back. read more

Randomly picked out L'accolade today (Friday) to try out with a gf for dinner. Saw they had a $65 pre-fixe and was super intrigued because the menu items all sounded delicious on their own. I didn't try any of the apps my friend had but they looked fantastic. I started with the tartar-- my literal only critique of the entire evening is I wish there was more acid or salt factor to the tartar, but it was beautifully made and I ate it all nonetheless. Next I had the scallop dish which was truly perfect, even the celery leaf garnishes genuinely added to the flavor development. The duck entree had both duck breast and duck confit. It was scrumptious, hearty, and perfectly cooked: pink with a crispy fat layer. For dessert we shared the cherry, cashew, banana, and coconut dessert, it reminded me of a custardy Dutch baby, topped with an ice cream and caramelized banana. We also shared a yummy bottle of sparkling rose called Domaine des 2 Anes, I'm not totally fluent in wine but it reminded me of being in the middle of a rose and a Lambrusco, only slightly effervescent. The staff was lovely, helpful, considerate, and generous. Can't wait to return. read more

A rare find in NY: great cuisine execution at reasonable prices, in fact, can be a steal. Service is friendly and genuine, like a good neighborhood French bistro. In a town that charges you $20+ for a pastrami sandwich (Katz), this restaurant offers you fancy looking meal at $38 for 2 courses. Wines are great again at good prices. This place is good for a date, especially if you eat out at the courtyard at the back. I hope it will be as great the next time I am in town. read more

Continues to enchant. Cocoa pasta with duck, gorgonzola and peas is one of those dishes that could just fail but it does not, the flavors come together and complement each other and you sit and go silent while tasting the dish and who would have thought that combination of flavors would work? Someone in the kitchen is inventive and intelligent and having fun. Recommended wine with this dish: the Loire red (Cabernet Franc) by the glass. The patio in back is unpretentious and fun, service is also informal yet impeccable. Not cheap but a wonderful neighborhood splurge. read more

I normally feel like these types of restaurants have very interesting starters and sides and then just bore me with the same meaty protein mains that every other restaurant does. Granted, the titles of the four mains here are things you would see at other restaurants but there's a surprising amount going on. Rainbow trout is perfectly fried, crisp and served over a light dosage of creamy risotto. I'm usually not a fan of food foam, I find it's often dry and insubstantial but the shrimp foam here was really quite wet and delivered in taste. Duck was also cooked to medium rare perfection and duck rillette/confit it was served alongside was mind blowingly savory and tasty. That was all balanced out with a blackberry sauce that brightened the dish but didn't veer cloyingly sweet like I think many such sauces do. Beef strip loin was cooked fine but was paired with the most incredible bone marrow and potato pave. Like honestly, just serve the bone marrow, I could care less about the steak, it was so sooo good. Lamb was perhaps the most boring of the options, classic herb crust. Tasty and cooked well but didn't raise eyebrows quite the way the other dishes did. Sides were hit or okay. Watermelon gazpacho was shockingly good, steak tartare with shrimp crisps were a clever take on surf and turf, but the lobster spaghetti was just okay. Interior and out waitress really brought me into a French restaurant without the prim and proper uptightness that is common with French food in the US. I look forward to my next chance to come by when their menu changes for the season. read more

Newest spot, fresh interior and nice layout. Simple menu and straightforward wine list. All the dishes we had were well executed. So +++ for the restaurant. Given small menu and focus, don't think you can go wrong with any dish. Service was friendly. Our visit was on a rainy/snowy night midweek, a nice crowd, so not running at capacity, relatively quiet and they changed lighting as the night wore on (nice touch). Excellent food with an extensive natural wine list. Our group tried several items and enjoyed all of them. Of note were the gnocchi and the grougeres, as well as the melon salad. I had a delicious pet nat and my fiancé had a tasty montepulciano. We loved both. Looking forward to returning soon! read more

Met a friend for dinner on a Wednesday night and had a spectacular experience. The garden area behind the restaurant is cute and whimsically lit. The wine selection was great and the waiter gave excellent recommendations. We had the summer toast, split pea soup, and Long Island duck. All delicious. Ingredients tasted so fresh and flavorful. We all agreed this place is excellent. Maybe not 5 star status but definitely 4 star. According to NYTimes review they are planning tasting menu, but I would keep it as is, reasonable priced 2 or 3 course prix fix. We had chicken, fluke crudo, radishes, grain salad and strawberry desert. All very good although none transcendent. Wine selection was excellent and a number of moderately priced options. Service was also very good. Place was not packed but that could change. Really enjoyed the quiet laid back vibe and location on cute Bleeker Street block. Don't forget to ask for the baguettes. - Wonderful and quirky selection of wines - definitely 5 stars on their drinks menu - Also a big fan of their cocktails - I do think their food menu is a bit overpriced - I have been here twice, and was personally not blown away by the food choices. Fantastic grand opening...I am very impressed. From the interior to the service everything is presented in the most exceptional manner. Went here for happy hour one weeknight and the staff was super friendly. Also the wine that the guy recommended was great. My husband, myself and a friend returned for dinner this week and really had an excellent all around experience. The same 3 guys were there- maybe the owners? - but they each were sooo nice in their own way. All of our entrees were very good and the cheese plate was delicious. Happy to see a great business going in on bleecker and can't wait to return. Ps. When we were at the bar for happy hour, the one guy grated about 30 limes and then pressed each individual one. An amazing new spot in the village! The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of natural wines with a very reasonable happy hour deal from 4-7 pm. The bites included in the happy hour deal are also yummy and well portioned. Tried the gougernes, dauphine, and smashed potatoes. Off the HH menu, the fluke crudo was also delicious. This is probably one of my favorite place in NYC so far. It's near NYU, about 5-8 minutes of walk from WSP. What's better than a glass of good wine along with some tapas after the tedious lectures in school?? (I know I sound like a bad student but don't worry i will be able to graduate lol) Seriously they have really good selection of wine, and I ordered a glass of orange wine Escencia Rural from Spain - very intense with orange and tangerine note. Love the backyard area! They also have a great selection of wines that are reasonably priced for happy hour. My friend and I shared the chickpea fritters, squash and ginger, cavatelli, jerk cauliflower and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. 10/10 would return. read more

L'Accolade is charming. A place where you want to treat yourself to a bottle of wine and a thoughtfully well-put-together meal. The ambiance is calming from the get-go, even on a busy Friday night. You want to spend time here, enjoying each bite, away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. You nestle into the quaint space, adorned with giant bulbs of soft lighting. The focus is on the natural wines, but what shines as well is their extensive list of alcohol. My husband and I treated ourselves to a beautiful meal - you can't beat the $45 starter and entree, or the $50 for those and a dessert. We opted for the $45 pair. We both chose hamachi crudo to begin with - fresh, melt in your mouth and perfectly balanced in a light sauce. We also added in the roasted beets - such an underrated vegetable, but the chef made it truly shine! My husband went for the duck, amazingly cooked, super tender. Our waiter recommended the monkfish for me as I was in between it or the pork. Both were tasty dishes, although the duck's side accompaniments left a bit to be desired. This was the greatest French food I've ever experienced. The duck was so buttery and flavorful that calling it duck is an offense (it was literally like you took the amazing savoriness of duck and gave it the texture of foie gras). Really great meal. Inventive menu and tasty. The only complaint would be the staff, which in general was very solid. There was one gentleman (wait staff) however eating a meal in the back of the restaurant, standing up which I thought was odd and frankly unprofessional as we had already been waiting about 20 minutes for our food to come. It just was a bad look for an excellent restaurant. Overall, I would definitely come back, but just found that and a few order mishaps as the only difference from 4 starts to 5 stars. read more

Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

First off, the front door is mounted on flimsy plastic hinges, so every time someone opens it, it swings open violently and knocks the vase off the nearby table. The service was somehow even worse. When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.

Everything else in this neighborhood is always so crowded but I walked in at 5pm on a Sunday and it was completely empty, which is exactly the peaceful environment I was looking for in a wine bar compared to the loud crowds in most places in the East Village. I came here with three of my friends for a little drink before dinner to celebrate my birthday, and the owner was kind enough to give us a glass on the house! We got the chilled red, the Mooa Les Sauriens, which I really enjoyed - a medium bodied red that was very balanced and more fruity, but felt super light and perfect for a warmer fall day. The sourdough with yuzu kosho butter was a nice appetizer to nibble on as well. Plus, we happened to be in at happy hour 4-6PM on weekends, so all wines were 20% off too! Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and will definitely be back.

The suits were daily, the walls were gold, and the pressure was so consuming that even success could feel like a form of attrition. After a few years, I moved to a smaller firm with Southern roots, where the culture was more humane, the work gave me greater autonomy, and I produced some of the strongest results of my career, even within an industry still governed by fear, greed, and status. Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. One of those ideas consumed an extraordinary amount of my time and energy, and I believed it might become the foundation of my next chapter. Instead, the arrangement eventually turned on me, the role I thought I had earned never materialized, and the business itself sputtered. My professional life, financial footing, and pride all collapsed just as COVID was beginning. Then Monkey Bar closed in 2020, which made the ending feel almost unnervingly complete: the restaurant, the city, and the version of myself built around New York finance all went dark at once. For years, I experienced that ending as devastating and unfair; now I can see it as wisdom delivered through an unnecessarily rough process. The restaurant's later revival by a Chicago hospitality group feels fitting because it still honors tradition and ceremony while allowing the old forms to evolve into something healthier, looser, and more current. I have not been back since that lunch, but a return now would feel like visiting the museum of my past, not reclaiming a life that asked too much, gave too little, and finally lost its hold on me. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

He had the Fraunces tavern option on tap and I had a Narragansett summer one. The bartender seemed fine and nice. Ambiance here is as it is an old tavern it sure has that feeling to it. There are many rooms and dinning options within this tavern. I have only sat at the bar area the times that I have been here.

From the Accolade's Team. This one star is more destined to yelp and their services than to our restaurant. I do not say that we are perfect. But we try, at least, to be fair and honest in what we offer. Since we refuse to pay or work with yelp, we can see all our 5 stars reviews disappear and move into the cloud. They talk about algorithm, but you could see by yourself that our only star that remains displayed, comes from a person who has never posted reviews on yelp, and having no history. This person notices a wrong check, however we have never received a complaint about that in our restaurant. 95% of our payments are in Credit Card, and this name has never appeared in our POS, as well as in our book. I will not say that this is not real, it is a possibility, the error is human. We will surely commit others, and we will apologize. However, for a website that says "Your trust is our top concern, so businesses can't pay to alter or remove their reviews", have the descent to stay professional, posted all the reviews or displayed nothing. Opening a business in NY is not easy, but we did it, and we're proud of what we offer. Proud of all our team and their energy. We will let you judge by yourself. I stumbled across L'Accolade after being told that I couldn't get a table at Via Carota until 10:30pm. When my friend and I walked in, L'Accolade was pretty full but we managed to get a table from the very kind host! L'Accolade is really a wonderful experience. The service is awesome and everyone is so kind. They have a great wine selection and the food, the FOOD is awesome. Honestly, who knew that a lettuce and lentils salad could be so flavorful and delicious. I got the chicken for my entree and it was awesome. The chicken was so well cooked, moist (sorry) and so flavorful. The chicken comes with pommes aligot, veggies and bacon. All were really, really amazing and flavorful! I highly recommend L'Accolade. We are over the moon that it's Philippe Orrico and his team! The interior is very simply decorated, classy, no fuss. Our waiter, Nelson, was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable but also very warm and simply fun to interact with. We started with two French 75s which there were able to make for us even if they were off the menu. The food was the most impressive part of the whole experience and it shows that the Chef has received Michelin stars in the past. The technique was impeccable. We tried: - Fennel salad: I never knew fennel could taste so good! Super refreshing dish. It had the perfect crunch from the fresh produce with a tangy vinaigrette and the sweet burst of flavor from the tomatoes. The aromatics were subtle, and did not overpower any other element of the dish. I appreciated how the flavor of the vegetables still shone through. Citrusy, tangy, punchy, bright--- the perfect summer app. - Salmon tartare: literally amazing. Finely diced salmon over a bed of avocado. The salmon was so flavorful, fatty, and just dissolved in the mouth. This came with some crispy ?wonton skins (at least that's how I can best describe them) but they had a mildly sweet aftertaste which balanced out the citrus and umami elements of the tartare. Good to share between 2. - Risotto: this was amazing. The risotto was cooked perfectly al dente and came in this creamy sauce with mascarpone and umami hints from bacon bits. It was absolutely divine. The escargot on top added the perfect buttery and earthy complement. I've never been much of an escargot fan but they worked very well in this dish and I would order again, no question. - Sole: we ordered the half portion which was perfect when sharing two mains. The fillet was flaky, tender, and came with a side of capers in butter that may be one of the most decadent combinations I've ever had. The punch of the capers, with the creamy sweetness and fats from the butter really were divine. The mashed potatoes that came with this were also amazing-- perfectly smooth and creamy. - Steak frites: this was stellar. I've had some other steak frites in the city but what I appreciated most about this was how light it felt and how the technique and quality of ingredients really shone through. The steak was cooked impeccably, was so tender we could basically cut it with a fork alone, and came with a peppercorn sauce that had a lot of depth but felt somewhat light and bright at the same time. The fries were crispy wand actually were properly salted relative to the steak. I will certainly get this next time I come. 10/10. - Trio of cremes brûlées: I'm usually a chocolate mousse girl but thought this looked special-- I certainly have no regrets. The Chef prepares 3 small cremes brûlées of different flavors and recommended that you eat them in a certain order. The vanilla was creamy, with a beautiful flavor and mild undertones of the egg that reminded me of the quintessential "French vanilla", the caramelized top was crispy, delicate, and perfect-- probably the best crème brûlée I've had in my life. The next was an orange saffron which had a similarly perfect consistency but a lovely orange flavor with the honey/earthy flavors of saffron. We got a bit of orange zest in there which was beautiful. Very well balanced! The last was a pistachio creme brulee which was a bit denser, richly flavored of pistachios with almond extract, with an equally delicate caramelized top. It was unreal. All were so unique and it was fun to see a range of the dessert outside of the ordinary. We had a really memorable dinner here. Overall, Le Sixth is a truly wonderful addition to the West Village scene. They execute the traditional impeccably, with high quality ingredients, strong culinary techniques, and well-balanced, enjoyable flavors. While there are some more inventive dishes on the menu, I think their strengths lie in how well they do the classics. The location is perfect for a fun night out in New York City, the service is also top notch. I am excited to see where the business goes. Highly recommend you give them a visit! I already have my next reservation booked.

For example the food and drinks are good, not stellar and the service is ok at best. The prices are reasonable but the portions are smaller, so without the exceptional service or outstanding presentation or new takes on classics it falls just the smallest bit flat. We invited friends here and had a nice time but probably will not come back.
