If you go here, take photos of your paperwork, keep all texts/emails, and get the warranty terms in writing -- because when something big goes wrong, the story can change fast. L&D Automotive was highly recommended for my 2015 Land Rover LR4. I told them I wanted to keep it long-term and expected normal LR maintenance (water pump, etc.). Over time I spent about $12k with them. They replaced the engine cooling fan (invoice available), and later did coolant repairs (water pump / coolant flange). About one month after the last service, the LR4 flashed lights, I smelled something, I pulled over on the highway, and it shut down. I had it towed back to them. Their own technician's written diagnostic states the fan assembly came apart/wobbled, damaged wiring/connector/shroud, struck/cut the radiator, caused coolant loss and overheating, and the engine would not start due to catastrophic internal damage -- recommending engine replacement (their estimate was around $20k). I offered to settle for $15k. They offered about $900, saying warranty only covered the part. My experience: when a major failure happened after their repair, they did not stand behind their reputation, warranty or service. I also learned the business name/ownership structure is more complex than I understood at filing time. In court, a representative stated they hadn't been involved with the shop for years / and raised questions about the correct entity name. Afterward, I found public records indicating connections between the people involved and related entities. I used L&D Automotive for approximately 10 years and had been happy with their services. I am a single woman with now college age children. Most of the time their prices were doable, however when needed they had a finance group that charged 29%. This was high but in a bind, doable. However in the past year they have gone to using a service that charges 100% interests after 90 days. I had $3,000 in repairs and I am having to pay out $6,000. I have since found out that the same repairs at another shop would have been closer to $2,500. Between these two issues, I will never use thier service again. If you have to be careful with your finances, this is no longer the place to go!!!! read more

Great oil changes, friendly staff, unfortunately I spent over 1k on something that I didn't need. They racked up the issues. Claimed my Catalytic converter was broken and were talking thousands more than what they had already charged me. I was terrified. I finally went and got a second opinion after driving my car for a few more months with major issues. Come to find out all it was a fuel valve! $400 later at a different shop and I'm back on the road zero issues. I suggest you do not go here as a woman with limited knowledge of cars. They will run the bill up on unnecessary expenses. I'm still making monthly payments to their third party credit company they use to screw people out of services you don't need. read more

They fixed the original issue but created many more during the process. Long story short, they suggested a carbon cleaning in addition to the original repairs, which I agreed to (because VW), however when they had the intake manifold off I feel as though they intentionally didn't tell me my intake gasket was deteriorating so I would have to return to fix further problems thus charging me more labor in the end. I'm sure they'll deny this but I've previously worked in a repair shop very similar to this for 10 years and I can say with certainty that it would be easy to get away with this and increase profits. Being that this shop is owned by a parent company I can assume they have other business interests and will invest in creative ways to make more money (ie taking advantage of the fact that the owner of the vehicle is not hovering over the technician in the shop nor knows about general car repairs). They also told me they'd provide photographic proof that they completed the carbon cleaning (which they "had to do twice because it wasn't done right the first time") and failed to do so. I used that as a tool to get some of my money back. This was a few months back but my car is STILL not running right due to the manifold issue and thinking about it now I felt a need to write this review due to my ongoing frustration. If you are reading this and considering utilizing this business for your car repair needs that involve anything but an oil change or general inspection I'd look elsewhere. read more

I have used L&D two times in the past few months and they have done an excellent job. The first time I brought my car into their shop was to fix a loud noise from my engine bay and something that sounded loose on the front end from a different repair facility. Took it to the other shop 6 different times and each time they said there was no issue. L&D fixed it on the first time and found 2 missing bolts on the engine mounts and transmission mount and also found the lower control arms the other shop replaced were not fully torqued to specs. After that the car runs great and no issues! My car started to overheat a few days ago and took it to L&D and they quickly replaced the thermostat that the other shop said they replaced. Car is working great and so thankful for L&D for being a great shop and providing excellent service. They also provided a loaner vehicle at no charge to me which greatly reduced our stress while the car was being repaired. L&D is now my go to shop and I would highly recommend them to anyone :) read more

Be aware! I was told I needed a replacement transmission on my 2016 Maxima, which had under 76K miles. I have always taken good care of my car and had the transmission serviced when required. After installing the transmission and charging me over 6K for a new transmission and within 24 hours I had no power again (same issue as first time), took my car back in to L&D to find out my alternator and battery needed to be replaced at a tune of over $1,300.00. They agreed to tow my car at no charge which was not included on the invoice I signed off on. A few weeks later after receiving my letter of concern to the manager, they mysteriously added the tows back on the invoice. On the morning of January 13, 2021, I dropped my vehicle off at L&D Automotive for a rattling noise in the rear of the vehicle. I explained, that I suspected a broken shock or muffler bracket. There were no other issues that I was aware of. Later that evening, I got a call explaining the source of the noise was a loose shock, which was a simple fix. It just required tightening. The person who called me went on to explain that the soft brake pedal (this was new to me, I haven't noticed or complained of a soft brake pedal) meant the Master Cylinder was bad and the rear brakes were completely worn out. He said the front brake pads still had a little life left in them, but the rear brake shoes, drums and Master Cylinder needed to be replaced immediately at a cost of $1300.00+. I was quite surprised at this since the rear brakes and drums had been replaced in September 2020, approximately 2,000 miles ago. (This is a extra car that's rarely driven.) I explained this to the person on the phone. He expressed concern that we had been taken advantage of by the mechanic who did the work, because he has complete confidence in his technician. The person I was talking to offered me the opportunity to come in the next morning, put the car on the lift and take a look at it myself. I asked that no work be done until I had a chance to look at the car myself, the following morning. As I was on my way to L&D the following morning, I got a call saying due to the circumstances the previous day, my car was the number two car discussed at their morning meeting. The car was put on the rack and  the brakes were checked. It was determined that I did not need rear brake shoes or rotors, as I had been told the day before. However, it was still suggested that the Master Cylinder needed to be replaced and it would take 2-3 days to get it. I was asked if they could go ahead and get that part ordered. I asked what the cost would be to replace the Master Cylinder and was told approximately 950.00. I don't recall the exact amount. Based on the fact I was told I needed rear brake shoes and new hubs that I didn't need, I declined and picked up the vehicle. I picked up the car from L&D and took it directly car to an ASE Certified Mechanic who checked the braking system and found nothing wrong. He bled the brakes and checked the entire system again. His conclusion was the car didn't need a Master Cylinder and the braking system was working properly. Its now been approximately seven months since I picked up the car. It's been driven daily without a single issue. This whole experience really bothers me. I was really hoping I had found a shop close to home that I could take my vehicles to and no be afraid of being taken advantage of. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, however I won't be going back to find out. read more

They are waaay over-priced. We had what appeared to be a dead battery on a truck. We jumped off the truck and took to L&D. Because it's close and rated highly on google. They told us that a free 15 minute check would check simple items but that the more in-depth check would be $110. We told them we think it's battery but ok. We said that the gear lever is difficult to change and a seatbelt needed replacement so could they check it and give a price quote. Three days later, they call and tell us they had to do the $110 check and that it was the battery. Not sure why they didn't just check battery and replace it. Then the battery replacement was 280. So almost 400 for that fix. The gearshift is not repaired to our satisfaction. It still is difficult. I didn't see warrante for work so I can't speak to that. This is just a Warning that they are waaay expensive for battery replacement and takes forever to get a car fixed. read more

In a time like we're in, I guess it's the norm for businesses to try and get over on unsuspecting customers. Too bad I'm knowledgeable and far from a sucker. The guys at the front desk are nice but will customer service you into confusion double talking. Either your mechanics are into the scam by adding unnecessary billable hours or they don't know what they're doing but to be quoted over 2 times the normal for a repair is outrageous. Then to be charged a "tiered diagnostic" for something I TOLD YOU was the issue....not even checking into that concern I had saying "oh the issue you told us about COULD be causing that other issue but will need to diagnose that and that'll be an additional diagnostic charge" HUH?! After paying over $250 and not having the issue I was concerned about diagnosed or shown where/how the diagnosed issued was connected to MY CONCERN instead ceased the opportunity to charge me additional money. I've been quoted by phone by all the surrounding shops explaining to them what was communicated from L&D to which most said they could get it done for less than 1/2 what was quoted from L&D...2...not 1 but 2 saying "yeaaaa we get a ton of their potential customers"...I wouldn't trust em as far as I could throw them at this point. With all these new mechanic shops popping up was hopeful this one could be that "neighborhood" shop but sadly they're out for the money grab. I took my Jeep in for a pre-purchase inspection and they gave me an estimate to repair it. I bought the Jeep and brought it back in so they could get it all fixed up. They stayed within my budget and had me all fixed up in 2 days and even offered me a ride to pick it up! Great job! Great atmosphere! And great dog!! read more

Just moved to Texas and developed a tranny leak on my truck during the trip. I went to L&D to have it diagnosed. Nick Miriani the manager took my truck to the shop and inspected it with his mechanic. He came back and presented me with the news that I had a front transmission seal leak and other leaks and it would cost $2,132.44 to fix the leaks!!! I asked him many questions and he was very certain the problem was the front tranny seal. I left with my vehicle to consider what to do and went down the street to another shop figuring I had nothing to lose by seeing what another shop would say. The other shop diagnosed the problems as a leaking transmission pan gasket and loose pan bolts and a transfer case seal leak...total cost to fix was only $566.22!!! The tranny now has zero leaks and is totally bone dry and they charged me $1,566.22 LESS THAN L&D AUTOMOTIVE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME! I may not be too smart but I have to think that L&D Automotive was trying to RIP ME OFF!! ($2,132.44) I think the manager Nick Miriani is not an honest person...either that OR his mechanic doesn't know Zip...either way this isn't a shop I can trust and I would say anyone else should be very-very careful about trusting them too! Spoke to Nick initially to get quote to replace engine on a 2015 Ford Fusion. Was surprised when he guessed at what my problem was which happened to be a spark plug which needed extracting. Nick told me he had two similar issues with other Ford Fusions where he was able to extract spark plug from a cylinder which had leaking antifreeze. I was skeptical and advised Nick he would be the fourth person attempting this extraction after mobile mechanic broke his tool in his attempt, and after the local Ford dealer was not successful. Nick seemed confident and Cavalier about his chance for success buoyed no doubt by the prior two issues he had seen. No one prior to Nick demanded any kind of payment due to their lack of success with the procedure. I would strongly encourage using caution with this mechanic. Our result is Nick was not successful at extracting the spark plug. I do not fault them for not being successful as 3 others before them had similar outcome. I do however have a problem with being charged 1.5 hours of labor for the lack of a favorable outcome. According to Nick I never advised him of the 3 prior attempts or the broken tool. He alleges that his mechanic took 1.5 hours to burn up the first drill bit which seems dubious. He also alleges mechanic burned up two or three additional drill bits in further successive attempts. To me it seems like gross negligence to burn up two or three additional drill bits after the first one. Nick alleges he was unaware of prior broken tool in the hole as he did not look with light prior to first drill attempt. This too if true seems grossly negligent randomly attempting to dill into something you have not looked at? If after inspecting with light and not knowing what was stuck in there you still go on to burn up additional bits is borderline incompetence. I tend to be verbose in my description of problems unless Nick was totally daydreaming on our first call there is no conceivable way for him not to understand he was fourth in line at this repair and a tool had been previously broken, though Nick alleges I hadn't. Ultimately, I paid over $300 for this ahem repair. There are a few other things adding insult to injury. I did request owners contact information as I was curious if it was his business practice charging for a service, he was technically incapable of doing. I was tossed a few business cards and became aware that the co-owner was right there collecting my money. Clearly at least one half of this business management felt its quite OK to collect a fee for poor workmanship. Perhaps this explains why their original sign in the service area promising "quality service you can trust" was replaced by a much larger sign reading "We Fix everything" but based on my experience that sign needs a few caveats as well. L&D is unfortunately a locally run family business I hope to discourage anyone from patronizing due to my experience. From my perspective L&D may as well be the first and last letters in the expression Lesson Learned... Please note 1 star rating reflects yelps inability to assign negative stars. read more

David at L & D told me my egr cooler was cracked, 4200 fix. Got phone quote from ford house, 3100. Told David I was taking it to ford, he then attempted to buy my truck. Ford diagnosed, and told me David had lied, no cracks, and no moisture. The only problem was my turbo was sticking. Still a big cost Sadly I used L & D several times before getting a second opinion. David is a very likeable guy, perfect for a person like him. Don't be charmed. It's not worth it. read more

Took our SRT8 in for an intermittently stalling out problem. He put on computer and said we needed plugs, boots and injectors cleaned. Had him do the work. Still had same problem. Had it towed back to him. He said computer showed bad PCM and security module. He replaced the security module with a new one. Per his recommendation we went with a used PCM module. Car ran for a short time before it said we had an ABS problem. Car went into limp mode and would not go over 40 mph. We were in Arkansas when this happened. Took it back to him and he said (David) that the ABS module was not communicating. He offered to buy our car and said do not buy the module. We bought another car and offered to sell it to him, but he did not want to buy it now. This guy talks a good line, but I do not trust him or would not recommend him to do any work of any kind. read more
