I love this place. It's such a great place to go with friends and family and enjoy the weather on the roof opening some crabs! Service was really attentive. The crabs had so much meat! We got a dozen large crabs. The apps were also good. I really liked the crab dip. Though the dip was good with the pretzel bread it comes with, it was also good dipping the french fries in! My family came to visit and wanted crabs so we came here and they had such a good time
My fault for not ordering crabs. Service was friendly and helpful. Venue itself has 3 floors and a rooftop. There is a bar on the 3rd floor so I'm not sure if you can skip the waiting. We ordered oysters from Virginia (both options for local and premium) and a soft shell crab sandwich. Our food was pretty average. Wanted to like this place more.
Finally got a chance to try LP Steamers this past weekend and I loved it! Service from Anthony was prompt and friendly. He provided great recommendations and stayed on top of drink orders. We sat on the rooftop deck and enjoyed views of Locust Point and the Inner Harbor. It can be fairly sunny up there with some tables only partially shaded so be sure to bring sunscreen. We ordered two dozen large crabs (the two other bigger sizes were already sold out), half a dozen raw oysters, steamed corn, and plenty of apps. Crabs were $125/dozen in June 2026. Everything was delicious! Crabs were an excellent size with the type of clumpy seasoning that I prefer. They don't serve cocktails here but they do have wine, beer, and seltzers. We all enjoyed the orange crush cocktail in a can over crushed ice which was not bad for not being a fresh crush. They only seat you once your full party is there FYI. There's lots of seating on all levels of the building so there was luckily no wait for us once our party arrived. The staff was even nice enough to store my friend's birthday cake and allow us to cut it at the upstairs bar. Such a good neighborhood vibe here and excellent food! I'll be back.
A local seafood joint with good food and good vibes! They have three floors of seating, some picnic tables outside the restaurant, and outdoor rooftop seating. Even then we had to wait about 20 minutes on a Sunday evening, but the food was definitely worth the wait! They're known for their steamed crabs which we didn't end up getting, but if its anything like their other steamed seafood then I'd bet its delicious. The shrimp, scallop, and lobster tail were cooked to perfection and were very fresh! The scallop was a bit under seasoned but we forgot all about it when we tried their cocktail sauce! My gf liked their cocktail sauce so much that it became her standard of comparison at subsequent restaurants and she thought none were comparable! The soft shell crab sandwich was also very yummy! The soft shell crab itself was quite meaty and nicely seasoned. The crab dip was yummy but felt a bit heavy. We also didn't taste much crab flavor in it but overall it was still enjoyable. The soup was mediocre and something we wouldn't have missed if we skipped it.
I guess L P Steamers had an off night or I just ordered wrong. It was a long day and my last night in Baltimore. I can't leave the city without having crabs! I was tired so I settled on crab cakes. I found parking on the street, be careful because in front of the restaurant is a bus stop. Walking inside, I pretty much have a place to myself. I'm seated by the waitress and I'm given a menu. I was going to order crab cakes but I see a fried seafood platter with a single crab cake. Sold! I ordered a Summer Shanty beer as well to get the party started. Y'all, the fish was over fried. The clam strips, some were crunchy and the fried oysters had a fishy taste. The crab cake was good but the shell was over cooked. I ate what I could, I paid the check and left quickly. Did they have an off night? Perhaps. If you're here, I'd go for anything but the fried fish.
We came for lunch to try some of the famous blue crabs. We ordered the boh't load of food, a c asae salad and the kids got popcorn shrimp with fries. The combo came with 4 medium crabs, 4 oysters, 4 scallops, a dozen shrimp, a dozen clams, two dozen mussels, and a lobster tail. The crabs were very heavily (overly) seasoned with old bay seasoning. The crabs we got were just ok, perhaps because it's the beginning of the season. Both the clams and mussels were overcooked and dry. The fish was also pretty heavily seasoned, likely to cover up the fishiness of the seafood. We came on a Sunday and the food didn't taste that fresh. The shrimp, scallop, and lobster tail were fine. The popcorn shrimp is heavily bartered and the shrimp themselves were very small. The Cesar salad came with very large and very crunchy croutons. Service is friendly but a bit on the slow side, considering that it wasn't that busy when we were there. It was easy to find street parking near the restaurant. Perhaps our expectations were too high. We were debating between Nicks and LP Steamers and decided to forego ambiance for better food, but we were disappointed by the food. We will try a different spot next time.
This was a great find. We ordered crabs, crab cakes, corn and hush puppies. The server was amazing and very helpful showing us how to crack the crabs. We were able to sit on the rooftop with a view of the harbor. Everything tasted amazing! But, the hush puppies blew my mind! I would definitely recommend ordering the hush puppies! I would definitely recommend and return to LP Steamers.
Omg so delicious!! We had the Boat Load of Food with a pitcher of draft beer and a side of Old Bay fries. We specially enjoyed the scallops, mussels and lobster tail. A messy but enjoyable eat. Service was pretty quick and thoughtful. They were kind enough to have run to our car before we left to let us know my mom had left her purse haha. What a find, will make sure to come back when in Baltimore!
Delicious and fun experience. I tried the crab cakes, they were so tasty. Next, I tried one large crab. I take forever to eat crab because I get all the nooks and crannies lol grandma taught me not to waste any food, y'all! I was sad that I came at night and they had run out of the jumbo and ginormous size crabs. I love the simplicity of just eating a crab on a brown-paper-lined table so you're free to make a big mess and it's easy to clean up for them. They provide a cute little hammer to crack open the crab legs - and they sell it as well for $3. I bought one as a little souvenir because I love crab and thinking about eating it makes me happy hahaha. Overall highly recommend getting your crab fix here (or any of their other locations) if you're visiting Baltimore! Locals recommended this place to us. It's great because it's not pretentious and prices are very reasonable!
I'm new to Maryland and the whole Maryland crabs culture and this was my first time trying them. The crabs were good but just a lot of work and the rest of the food was decent. The service was really good and they taught us how to crack the crabs. The ambiance is a lot bigger than I thought but overall good vibes.

Stopped by last night for an early solo dinner. The stars were aligned because I usually see this place packed. Not only did I get a parking space a few spaces from the door, there also weren't a lot of people dining. I could actually choose my seat because a couple were empty. Once I grabbed a seat, my order was taken shortly thereafter. The server was moving very quickly between tables but also kept on a smile and made no mistakes with anyone's order or requests. She was quite impressive. I was super hungry so I ordered a lb of Snow Crab Legs, a 1/2 lb of shrimp, broccoli and a lobster tail. Since everything was steamed, it didn't take long to arrive. All the shellfish was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The broccoli was a little over cooked but not a dealbreaker. Interestingly, I didn't care for the butter which was a little disappointing. It had, sort of, a sweet aftertaste that didn't work for me but giving everything a fresh squeeze of lemon juice helped a lot. While it is a small place with fewer total seats than other seafood spots, I tasted why there's always a crowd. I'll be back soon. read more

I've avoided this place for a very long time, because people complain about the crabs having no seasoning. But let me tell you, no one steams a crab like LP Steamers. They're so good that you don't need a ton of old bay or sauce to palate...the crab really gets to shine! I also like that you can buy individual crabs, as I never order them in multiples of 6. The crabs are good sized and well priced. Also, explore the menu because they steam everything well. The BUFFALO WINGS also get an honorable mention, as they're cooked to perfection and someone puts their foot in that sauce. read more

While visiting Baltimore...I happened to pass by this restaurant and noticed many customers waiting (usually a good sign of tasty food) for a table! I asked a few locals and of course consulted my Yelpers to find out if this was a legit place and I am so happy I listened! The wait for an outdoor table was less than (15 mins)..they are doing a good job following COVID guidelines as well! We decided to have the crab dip; oysters and crab cakes (sorry no pic of crab cake..ate that as soon as it came to the table..lol) The crab cake had no filler..outstanding flavor; Oysters were fresh and the crab dip was savory...all dishes represented Marylanders very well! The service from the staff was friendly and prompt.. Will definitely return if I am in the Baltimore area! read more
Went for Dinner Food - 4/5. Oysters were fresh and had good flavor to them, but they were not shucked well. There were many little pieces of shells in each of them, making for a troublesome dining experience. The crab cakes were fried a little too long giving them an ugly brown color and tasting like they soaked up too much of the fryer oil. There were plenty of crab in the cakes, but the flavor of the oil was overpowering the natural sweetness of the crab. On the other hand, the fries benefited from the flavorful oil and were crispy. The hot steamed crabs were juicy, meaty, and seasoned well. Despite the old bay seasoning covering the shell of the crab, the flavor permeated to the meat. The vinegar was a great sauce choice as it really helped balance out the blue crab's naturally strong seafood flavor. Service - 4/5. Cheerful and enthusiastic. Value - 4/5. It was a mixed bag when it came to value. The oysters were reasonably priced but a chore to eat and the crab cakes were way overpriced for their quality at $34 for two. The steamed crabs were a fun experience with the large crabs being around $8 a piece. I would visit for the steamed crabs and skip the other items. Parking - Street (Free) read more
To be honest with you, somewhat disappointing. We should have ordered the steamers. I had the softshell crab. My son had the fish and chips. My crab was really small, kinda greasy and undercooked. The crab dip appetizer was really good, but things went downhill from there. Not impressed. Another overhyped legend. read more

Great rooftop deck for eating crabs if you can snag a table! Went at 6pm on a Friday before the Os game. Got great service, the food did not disappoint and the crabs were sweet and tasty! Would definitely return and recommend to out of town friends read more
The service was great! The crabs were served hot and fresh! Next time I would do light seasoning but overall I highly recommend LP. The server was knowledgeable and pleasant. She kept checking in to make sure we were good. She also brought out several ingredients so we could make our own crab sauce! OMG we got large and they were meaty. We had to try a ginormous crab which is on the menu, you can purchase crabs individually. I really like that you can purchase one crab of each size, if your like me and don't want a dozen of the same size. They serve beer and wine , they offer a great selection that compliment the crabs. Stopped by on the way home for lunch. I think we were on the early side (lucky for us) since we got in with no wait, but as we left the tables were definitely getting filled. Parking was a little tough, but we found a spot in the neighborhood nearby. Service was good- especially considering how many sets of stairs they have in the place lol We ordered a local oysters, a boiled sampler, and 1 lbs of snow crab legs. Tasted great!! Although we got enticed by those menu items, we couldnt leave without getting some crabs to try since it was our first time here. We got the medium sized crabs and they were so yummy. If only we got more. It's been a week and I'm still thinking about this place. I will definitely be back, and I'm so happy its not too far off the highway- making it a great suggestion for a pitstop while on the road haha. This little shop on the corner is perfectly placed with great views of the Baltimore neighborhood. The very friendly customer service provided and ambience is great. Had the mahi mahi sandwich and O bay fries with house sauce. Hands down the sandwich was fire didn't need anything just a little house sauce and it was perfect. read more
Solid seafood spot with a variety of items on their menu. If you're craving some seafood, L P Steamers won't disappoint. They have great service as well. Extra sitting on the second floor. Everything we had was good. We really liked the hush puppies. They came with a cinnamon butter, YUM! As for the crab, you definitely get your moneys worth. However, we all felt that the old bay seasoning was a little too salty. Have extra water on hand to get you through those. read more

Yessss. I was so happy that this was one of my first meals in Baltimore. A classic crab joint that was delicious! Our waitress was super kind and explained how to open the crab (we are novices) even though she was clearly super busy. Things we ordered: Hush puppies -- man oh man. These were the best hush puppies I've ever had. Corn pieces in them and everything. Another round please! Old Bay Fries -- I typically don't like Old Bay but these fries were delicious. I actually think I heard someone saying on the way out that they make the seasoning in house and I think that's where the difference is! Steamed crab -- we only got for us to try, but we ordered a large. Honestly there wasn't much meat in it. I've done it once before and I remember there being more, but maybe we just got one with less. I'm sure it's hit or miss and why people get large quantities. Crab cake -- we did fried, but next time I would probably do boiled. The outside was a bit thicker than I anticipated. Large crab amount which is great, but wouldn't order the fried one again. Soft shell stuffed crab -- it has good flavor. I couldn't tell where the crab began and the cake started! I think I am just not a soft shell crab person after having tried it. Knowing I was eating the shell freaked me out a bit. So not a restaurant problem, just me! Snow crab leg -- Our favorite thing! They were soooo good. Lots of meat. Succulent. Loved it dipped in butter. Give me more! Next time I'd probably have the table share the hush puppies, fries, snow crab legs, and try to crab dip. Best crab house that I've been to in a long time! I love the ambiance and the service. It's a laid back vibe with friendly people. Lots of different sizes of crabs available. The oysters were good too. And we loved the hush puppies with the cinnamon honey butter. Be aware that they don't sell liquor, just wine and beer. read more

This place speak for very great seafood quality. I order and loving it. 2 blue crab -freshness. Must order! Soft crab-easy to eat- love it Oyster - I had 14 total. I love it so much very fresh. Crab soup- not want I like- more veggie base. Service is gorgeous. Server is very professional. She work hard and smart! Ambient - very hot- air conditioning is not enough for that amp of people. We sat on second floor. To the owner, you should plan to upgrade your air conditioning sized base no number of seat you have. 10/10! definitely revisit! read more
Ever since I left Maryland, I felt I was always missing out on the blue crabs. We had take out from LP steamers due to the current COVID situation and everything was still delicious. We had 6 jumbo and 2 ginormous crabs. It may be a bit off of crab season as they weren't as full as they usually are but the size looked so so impressive. We also had the crab cakes and the steamed sampler. The crab cakes here, though a bit pricey, are amazing! Chock full of juicy, tender crab with no filler. So so good and great for those that do not want to labor for their crab. The steamed sampler was also delicious, containing jumbo shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, and a lobster tail. One thing is that crabs are always generously seasoned with Old Bay, so next time we will ask for light seasoning. They also did forget our cole slaw, but that's water under the bridge. read more

Came down to Maryland for the day and wanted authentic crabs w/o the tourist trap. I'm almost don't want to write this review because it seems like a well known place but for locals not tourists! Definitely better priced than anything you would get harbor-side, this was a short ride (or you could even walk ) from fort mchenry. Fantastic food, great value and great service!' My fave was the fried clams or lobster tail, but my friends who had the crab cakes said they were fantastic too! read more

You have to have steamed Baltimore blue crabs when in Baltimore. $9.82 per jumbo crab may seem pricey in Baltimore, but I've paid $30 per uncooked crab in California. The crab was awesome, and the oysters even better, way better than I had in Philadelphia, and right up there with the best I've ever had in San Francisco and Bodega Bay. Loved this place, you get a lot of bang for your buck. read more
We decided to check this place out on a Saturday night. We were able to find parking not too far away, but we did have to drive around a bit. The restaurant was seat yourself, so we found a spot upstairs and got comfortable. For our meal, we went with A Boh't Load of Food and a crab cake. The Boh't Load included crabs, clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, shrimp and a lobster tail and to top it off...a pitcher of beer (Natty Boh). When I tell you this filled my little seafood heart; it was everything I could ask for. I typically don't eat blue crabs because they seem to take a lot of work, but these... you pulled, and the meat came right out. This meal is advertised for two and I would agree. As great as the food was, I wish I could say the service was as great. Outside of taking our order, the waitress wasn't really around. Overall, I would probably give the service 3 stars and the food, 5 stars. I've been wanting to try LP Steamers for a while now, so I 'm happy we had a chance to try it. read more

Let me get the negs out of the way first- no Bud Lt on tap but in the menu. Secondly, cupcakes on the dessert menu, but no longer carrying, nothing chocolate:(. And-- please change the channel- I watched the same hair growth infomercial 3times. Now, food is amazing! Got the "Boh load" more than we could handle. Crabs, shrimp, scallops, oysters, clams, mussels and LOBSTER!!! Banging good! We had hush puppies- best I've ever had! Little salad and homemade coleslaw. Karena was friendly and attentive, and treated us like we were from the neighborhood! All of the staff work hard to cook, serve, clean up and turn tables! Great for families, dates, kids or the Lone Eater! We'll be back next time in the area. I hadn't been to LP since before COVID. Man did I miss this place. Great atmosphere, super staff and recently remodeled to boot. The food was better than I remembered if that is even possible. I started with my favorite steamed shrimp. Always so good. The cocktail sauce is always on point. I finished with a Cesar salad and broiled crab cake. LP continues to provide the best seafood in the area by a wide margin. If you are in Baltimore, check them out. read more

LP Steamers is amazing. The food is absolutely fantastic. Clearly, you have to get crabs. If you're a soup fan like me, you've got to get the 1/2 & 1/2 soup (cream of crab & Maryland crab). Service is great. I have dreams about this place. I will hit up LP Steamers whenever I am in Baltimore. read more

I've lived in Baltimore way too long for this weekend to have been my first visit to LP Steamers. My family stopped by when they were visiting once, and have been raving about it for years. Between a friend and I, we ordered: the crab dip, buffalo wings, stuffed soft shell crab, and half a dozen large crabs. All of this only came to just over $100, so this place is very reasonably priced. Let me start by saying, I am not much of a dip girl (except spinach & artichoke). That being said, the crab dip was pretty tasty when it was fresh and hot-- didn't feel like there was much lump crab meat though. The order only comes with 4 pretzels, which wasn't enough. The crab dip should come with 5/6. The wings were also pretty good. This place isn't known for their wings of course, but they were solid. My friend enjoyed his stuffed crab, and didn't have any complaints (I'll also add that he really enjoyed the crab dip, more than me. So, if you like a dip, it got a stamp of approval). The star was of course the steamed crabs. There's plenty of seasoning, the crab was meaty, and they were high quality. Yum yum yum!!!!! I absolutely enjoyed those crabs. Last, the service could have been better. We had to ask our waitress several times for more water and she didn't really come check on us. We had to flag her down. I also had to ask for some tools for my crab, which I think should have been brought automatically. All in all, I left satisfied and will definitely be back! read more

Does it get busy on Sundays for lunch?
This restaurant kid friendly?
Yes. They have high chairs that accommodate kids that can sit up, or infant car seats. It's pretty tight, so not a lot of room for a stroller, even if folded up. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and I'm sure they'll work with you.
Is this in the inner harbor?
No, they are to the southeast of the Inner Harbor, but well worth the short drive.
Do they serve broiled crab cakes or is the only option fried?
Either way, they have 'em
Do I need to make a reservation for dining in?
When I ate there last week they recommended calling about 20 mins before you're planning on arriving to cut down your wait time
Can you have separate check for the same table?
Yes. But a check can only be split up to 5 ways .
Do they have jumbo lump crab cakes? I don't see it in their menu
Yes our Crabcakes are made with lump and colossal (which is bigger than jumbo lump)
Any recommendations on parking in the area?
I have never had a problem finding nearby street parking on, or just off, Fort Ave.
