I ordered through seamless. Delivery was on time. I ordered the virgin pina colada and the camarofongo. The pina colada was creamy and sweet. Not too frozen that you couldn't get it through the straw. It had a little cherry on top and it was a good amount. The mofongo was okay. I liked that it had sauce but the sauce was a little bland. The mound was pretty big but it was lacking a little. The shrimp were just on top, none cooked in to the little hill like I've had at other places. Reading through reviews I didn't see much about the mofongo and maybe this is why. It was alright but I've definitely had better. I didn't go to this establishment so I can't tell you much about the vibe of the place. The food was pricey at $20 for the mofongo with shrimp. Went o pick up a mangu that had barely any onions, asked the girl at counter if she could please add some more. She charged me extra instead for a cup of onions , and the cup was not even half filled. La Aurora never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh and consistently delicious. I eat here a lot. Once in a while a small problem arises, maybe you don't get enough beans or something minor like that, very rare, but they fix it for you the next time you come in by giving you a little extra to make up for it. This is one of my main go to places and I really recommend it. My favorite is the steak and onions, white rice and beans, the avocado salad is always delicious. I love the frozen drinks. It's always clean, always has a lot of business (for a reason), it has a great vibe, the waitresses are always happy and always smiling and it's just a really nice place to sit and eat with your family. They were seasoned just right and soft with a little bit of crispiness at the same time . Usually you don't get that same combination. There French fries were also good ,they weren't hard at all, like some other restaurant. But I would have to say I would definitely go back to this restaurant again. In the mood for Beef Stew, I placed an order for that as well as Arroz Con Gandules and Empanadas (Beef and Chicken). The food came rather quickly which felt like a blessing from the man above. The beef stew came with white rice and beans. The stew was succulent, fall apart tender, and well seasoned. I like that it was placed in a separate container. I wish the beef stew had potatoes. It had carrots which I'm not a huge fan of. The beans weren't bad but I didn't care for the huge peppers in the beans. I decided to use the beef stew sauce on the white rice. How can something be so hard, chewy, and dry while sitting in a big tub of soup????? It just makes you think that they cook to meat fast at high temps and just throw it in. The meats of the soup are not seasoned. They feel like an afterthought. Also, no corn???? That was disappointing. It's literally in the picture on Uber eats. But yeah, if you're used to a good hearty sancoho don't get it from here. You'll be disappointed. However their beef stew here is great. I came here because I wanted some Dominican food near Floral Park on a Sunday and this place popped up on my yelp. They have no parking lot only street parking . Had to park down the block and walk which is normal for Queens. The older woman at the counter was extremely nice and friendly. The prices were affordable and the food tasted incredible. Only downside is I feel they can give a little more food with their portions but I understand times are hard. They have amazing empanadas, pernil, rice and beans and tres leches cake. I visited NY and this my BIL bought some so I thought hhmmm, this is a good finger food so I ordered some for our ride home. With the squeezed lime on the chicken, so good! I also liked the fried sweet plantain and the yellow rice and peas. Delish! I also tried the pork crackling or chicharron but I did not prefer this due to the fat on it. On multiple occasions, I've ordered from door dash. That's fine. As long as you don't have to deal with the lack of service in person, you should be fine. In-person, I have ordered large catering orders and the owner is extremely rude. After spending about $300, she got very nasty about charging for additional sauces which i was willing to pay for. I was told by an employee to not tip so much because the owner does not share it with the kitchen staff. They definitely need more employees out front. On a more recent occasion, I waited 30 min to place an order, only to find they can't fill it because their employee didn't pay attention to me or take the time to answer my questions. Spanish isn't my first language but I can understand it. She took time to speak to 3 other customers about MY order that she misunderstood rather than speak to ME, after telling me multiple times she would take the order. Time is as valuable as money and common courtesy should be a priority especially if you want loyal customers. They just lost a really good customer. read more

Order here quite often as they provide the best quality Dominican food for the value. Most of what I ordered has been excellent, including the pernil (slow roast pork leg/shoulder), whole chicken and chicken cracklings. The white rice and rice & peas are good too, not too overly seasoned and always right. The yucca has been slightly hard and dried the times I've ordered it and one time the chicken cracklings had more bone than meat. They are always on time for my delivery, however the packaging could be improved on some days. Some days they package everything nicely and use ceramic wrap, other days the lid breaks into pieces. read more
