This is supposed to be a Cuban sandwich!
    Hugo C.

I order some scrambled eggs with Salami and cheese and a Cuban sandwich. They took an Hour and my order was all messed up. They missed understood I guess but they really are not worth the money. Cuban wasn't made the way a Cuban sandwich is supposed to be.

    $57 worth???!!!!

$57 for this amount of chicken? Is the US importing the chickens?? And they were supposed to chicken chunks, not chicken tenders.

Came to this restaurant along with my daughter after my bf said they were in competition with a restaurant that we both were familiar with in queens. He literally said "once people come here they never go back to the other place" well that sounds like a place I need to experience. So we went no one was dining in mainly we saw people coming and taking out! For drinks my daughter wanted apple juice which they did not have so we ordered a lemonade instead I tasted it and it tasted homemade and sweet. I ordered a guanabana I haven't had one in years so why not I used to love them as a kid. It was really frozen but good my daughter also liked it. For entree we ordered a kids meal for her and substituted the French fries with rice and beans. The chicken on the menu said chicken strips however she was given chicken chunks. She overall enjoyed her food and for myself I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce and a side of fried plantains. Instead I got sweet plantains and I really did not want to complain so I dealt with it. What I found interesting was the color of the shrimp sauce it was red I'm used to a white garlic sauce however it did have a garlic taste to it. I was disappointed with the mistake of the plantains but I decided to make it work. I went to pick up my first piece with my fork and noticed a hair on it. I was immediately taken a back I told another young lady that was working there not my server about the hair since my server was busy. she said she couldn't see it, I pointed to it she still couldn't see it I literally had to pull it out and to which it got longer and broke. She held it in her hand and still told me it wasn't hair. A gentlemen sitting a few tables down from me asked what it was I told him he immediately told her to change it. He said it was from the rag they used to clean. The lady had an attitude as if I wasn't supposed to send it back, she came right back with some fresh plantains or so I thought. There is a warmer in front with food for take out she must have gotten it from there and served me another order. My food was not hot at all Luke warm. The shrimp was good wasn't very flavorful and the rice was where I was not pleased. So are they better than the other place unfortunately not!

I really wanted to like this place I really did but they're the quality of food sucks and the mangu they sell is pathetic Let me tell you. I ordered a mangu with 3 golpes and I got a spoon full of mangu. For the price which I think is like 7.50$ not worth it. When I asked for more they said that's their serving size and offered to sell me more. Are you kidding me. Will not be going back. They make it so it looks full but it's hollow at the bottom they also use the smallest container possible. Second picture is after my toddler had two hair spoons.

La comida es buena. Pero estamos en basketball season y tienen 5 televisiones grandes y nadie sabe poner el juego. Tenían como una novela de Telemundo. Give your guests what they want. Never coming back.

Sigh... we wanted to love this place because we are Hispanic and are always looking for new places near us but no bueno. Bland. Bland bland. Like where is the salt on the tostones? Where are the sweet maduros? Not here! The pulpo in tomato sauce tastes like canned tomato sauce. Do not recommend!

Went to Lena Dominican Restaurant on a early Saturday evening after driving by it a couple times and it looked and sounded very lively. There were many people outside but no one at the door for seating. We went inside and the bartender had to flag someone to seat us. They have tables set up outside and a DJ playing music which was nice. What struck us and warrants the 3 star rating is that none of the staff were wearing masks. Not one. My guest wanted to leave but I encouraged them to stay. I have been to many outdoor seatings and the servers, waiters, waitresses, etc all wore masks and most even gloves. The table we were seated at was stained and once we notified our waitress someone who worked there immediately came over and changed our table cloth with a clean one.. but no mask was worn. Our waitress was very attentive ( but no mask). Lena's serves drinks I had a basic Jack and Coke. My apprehensive guest just had water as they were ready to go. My guest ordered the garlic shrimp but got the creole shrimp but it was still good. I ordered a lobster dish which was delicious but I ended up taking most of it home because our table was small and it would of made a mess cracking the shells. Even though COVID -19 protocols were "very" lax to say the least the food was delicious.

    There's a bug in my flan -_-

People who work here are friendly and pleasant. Restaurant is more or less clean. There's a TV,…read morebut it's unobtrusive. The menu is extensive and fun. Fusion Spanish food. Has a lot of seafood as well as Dominican, Colombian, Mexican. Sadly, what we ordered pretty much sucked. Pernil: C+ Oh, God, it was dry. Dry, dry, dry. You get a very large portion of extremely dry meat with a "cap" of nicely crisped fat. The kind of crispy fat you'd expect from pernil. However, there is very little flavor (compared to my wife's pernil, which may be an unfair comparison, since her pernil rocks my world -- I would've married her for her pernil alone). Very little flavor, and dry, dry, dry. No pernil marinade (that I could taste). There was lime served on the side, but the pernil should be *cooked* with lime. Not enough fat. It was either vastly overcooked or reheated aggressively with dry heat. Tip to the chef: reheating things in a pan and sprinkling water on the meat yields much nicer meat than popping it in the microwave. Using a microwave to reheat meat never works. It overcooks the meat. I consider it inedible. Pollo Mexicano: C+ Similar problem as the pernil. It has a beautifully flavorful salsa, but the chicken was so dry that you have to choke down the chicken When you take a bite, it's difficult to get the chicken to go down your throat because it's bone dry. They vastly overcook the chicken and make the salsa separately. They then toss the bone dry chicken into the yummy salsa and you get cardboard chicken in a delicious salsa. I consider it inedible.

I could get the same is not more food on my school campus for $2-$4, cheaper. Like i said the food is digestible and it's convenient to get it while I wait for the bus on my way to school. What I did not appreciate is how loud the tv was when I was trying to order. Other than the language barriers both of my server had, they lack of customer support or mannerism. What really made me write this review was because, as i was leaving the store after getting bad customer service, I stopped to see what all the noise on the TV was about and my server change the channel on me as a customer as I became interested in the infomercial. Additionally she looks at me straight on my as I turned to look at her and she did not even say excuse me. I left with disappointment ad I shook my head in disbelief.

They had a full offering of salads, rice, beans, fish and a variety of meats available. There was a lot of people initially on the line. The ladies behind the counter took time to serve the food and also bring it to the table which was a bit untraditional in my experience of a buffet type style of place. The food was looking good. I decided to add potato salad and a few ribs to my chicken empanadas. The chicken empanadas really told the show. They were seasoned so good, savory with onions and green peppers that had been cooked down almost into a stew. The garlic sauce was a perfect touch and made them even better. I took away one star because one of the lady's behind the counter seemed to have a bit of an attitude with whomever she chose to. Different treatment for different people. I would go back and just see the other woman behind the counter.

Portions are generous, the cocktails (like mojitos and sangria) are excellent, and the lively atmosphere makes it a great spot for both casual dining and celebrations. They offer rich, comforting, and authentic Cuban flavors. Diners love the slow-roasted pork (pernil) and Ropa Vieja, which melt in your mouth. If you want something lighter, the Cubano sandwich on Long Island is frequently cited as a destination-worthy staple. The space feels warm and family-run, as what I may describe as stepping into an "abuela's house". The staff is highly attentive and offers great menu recommendations. It tends to get packed--especially on weekend evenings--but the lively vibe (including staff-led birthday songs) adds to the charm.
