Unfortunately, our recent visit to La Cabrera in Sunny Isles fell short of our expectations. The fish of the day was overcooked and lacked freshness, which was a letdown. More concerning, however, was that my daughter and aunt experienced food poisoning symptoms after consuming the Mac and cheese. Upon further inspection, it seemed that none of the dishes we ordered were made with fresh ingredients. To make matters worse, the service was subpar and unattentive. Our server seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, which added to our frustration. Needless to say, we won't be returning to La Cabrera in the future. We went for a birthday lunch, asked for several dished including a ribeye, when it comes the ribeye had a strong smell and we send it back. We contacted the "manager" and she told us it was strange as they didn't have many problems with the ribeye.... Of course the smelly dish ( that was sent back to them, and they didn't even asked if they can replaced it was on the check. I should think twice to go again. The restaurant cancelled our reservation 30 minutes before we arrived and then blamed it on Open Table. I specifically booked the reservation for outdoor seating. It was loud inside, as I'd expected. The hostess offered to "seat us anyway" in spite of the cancellation, but only inside. Steak was delicious but it was way overpriced.
