We used to come here every week for dinner. They messed up our orders a few times but nothing major. Last night everything changed. Their prices jumped up so drastically, we will not be coming back. My son used to get a kids enchilada for 8 bucks, all of the sudden they don't have it. We ended up getting 2 CHEESE enchiladas for him and it was $16.99. No meat, just cheese. Then on the bill, we noticed we were charged for a refill of our tiny basket of chips. 3 of us and it was 48 bucks. We usually spend around $34. I understand things have gone up but the portions looked smaller, the quality has also decreased and the service was fair at best. It's a shame because we liked it here but we are done. read more

First time here. Take out order. They forgot the chips, napkins & utensils. Bought 4 items - 2 were thrown away, from burnt food to no taste. The homemade Flan was dry & burnt. Overpriced $10 for such a small slice. The kids meal cheese quesdilla had no taste and my nephew threw it away. The ambiance was very noisy. An older crowd when I was there on Wednesday night. My friend loved the Mexican corn which is just one cob cut in 4 pieces for $5.00.... The veggie burrito was really good. Very tasty and delicious. I liked they had pinto and black beans, not refried beans. I do hope they remember to put the chips & utensils in the take out bag next time. A resounding YES! This place is amazing. The menu is exactly what you want at a Mexican restaurant. All your favorite combination type plates, plus various individual items. You can go Torta, you can go burrito, you can go Ceviche, fajitas, and lingua options. Salsa is fresh with mild heat, food feels like it was made with love, and the horchata is grande. It comes in a giant mug, it is home made daily and a refreshing treat. Side note: they have several TVs hung and when I was in, all kinds of sporting content. Including, MMA, baseball, billiards, formula 1 racing, Top Gear, and Baywatch. All at the same time! Seriously this could be a great hang for a finals game or some fun to watch event. after a day hiking and Joshua tree, we passed up all of the fast food restaurants before landing here and boy are we glad we did. I have been back a few times since earlier experience after they first opened. I like the vibe here. The staff that works the front of house are super friendly and welcoming. I went with some friends and I tried the vegan burrito which was good! It's HUGE! Decent selection of cold drinks. Sit back and relax as sometimes it may take a bit to get food if it's busy. Live up to your reputation! I chose this establishment because of recommendations from my friends here in Yucca. And there are some good reviews. But, are some areas that need improving in this restaurant, beginning with acknowledgment of patrons, especially those who come in announcing their new to the town and are new to this restaurant.. so a couple of things, a) hope you like beer because they only serve very large cans of beer no other choices. And trust me I love my beer, but one oz ounce bottle or can with dinner is plenty So so my visit there was brief and I did announce. I'm new to the town and this is my first time at this restaurant to one of the waitresses. The first thing one of the waitresses said to me was ''are you here to pick up?? '' I think with the obvious lack of patrons a greeting of hello thanks for choosing La Caguama, will you be dining in or taking out?? that's how I would train my employees if I were the manager and/or owner. B.) I was handed a very large very disgusting hard plastic menu that was 50% advertisement and 50% menu and absolutely disgusting with spilled food on every page. The waitress brought me my very large beer, then disappeared and in the seven minutes I was there three others families entered the establishment two of which the Cook took the time to come from the kitchen to shake their hands and say hello.. I had put my menu down several times thinking that was the sign I was ready to order. That didn't work I'm about a third of the way done with my beer getting full with this very large beer and still no one acknowledged me as to whether or not I was ready to order and it's pretty petty. The seven minutes did seem like 15 to 20 minutes I being one of four patrons and still no acknowledgement. I was slightly concerned as it was after 8 PM and I saw on their website they close at 9 PM. I patiently waited. I was hungry, but no acknowledgment the staff there did not give me the time of day or the time of night or the kind of greeting the other three families who came in after me received.. so my advice is for the management and/or owners take this review as constructive criticism. Word-of-mouth is everything and me being a customer service manager retiree and a current small business owner in my new hometown of Yucca Valley work with your employees explain to them that there are more than three people living in this town. And all patrons should be treated equally. I never got a chance to try the food and I certainly could not finish the large beer. someday I may choose this establishment again. I only hope that the employees there show a little more kindness and courtesy to all patrons, especially those who announce they are there for the first time. read more

One thing I like to do is try the chips and salsa at any Hispanic restaurant and boy did they not disappoint! The salsa was bright and full of flavor! Not to mention the dishes were fresh and delicious! They thing here is large beers, so come prepared and try one of the large beers in a cold mug! Ambiance of the interior with the murals and music reminds of a in-country Mexican restaurant. Everything was very clean including restrooms. The food was three star; we tried all three types of tacos: chicken, beef & pastor. Flavor of each was ok, nothing notable. Agree with other reviewers that the relleno is pretty good. They serve beers in 24 oz and up sized cans & bottles. Others may find the food more tasty than we did, but for the price in our opinion there are better options locally. read more

Food was ok. The fish taco was very chewy and not very crispy. The birria taco with mayonnaise was really good. The carne asada one was average, there was something weird with the flavor. Also I think they need better lighting. The lights feel like the lights in a hospital not very warm. I loved the murals, amazing artist. The service was good even when you order at the register not at your table and I liked that they gave us chips and salsa. Their salsa could be a bit more tasty. I recommend the chiles rellenos. Stephanie and Sandra always have a smile on their face and make everyone feel welcome from the minute you walk in until you leave. Locals know that this location has tried out a few restaurants that didn't make it... and lucky for us, it meant we would get La Caguama here in the end! Super awesome. Although, yucca didn't need another Mexican spot, this one deserves to be here and is the best in town. The Al pastor taco was amazing and even better than the street tacos. Carne asada and chicken tacos were great as well. Fajitas were fresh. Could have used a bit extra guac with em, but the guac was also fresh and delicious. Services was solid and the real topper was 8/10/15% as tip options for takeout. Thank you for that. I will respect that and will return more bc of that.
