    Mushroom and Swiss cheese omelette.

Went out for a delicious brunch at La Cannelle Cafe recently. I had a mushroom and Swiss cheese omelette, and it was cooked just as I requested. My friend is a vegetarian. There weren't a lot of options for her on the menu, and the avocado toast came with an egg which she removed. More options for vegetarians and vegans would be nice. The service was great, and low pressure. That's something we appreciate when gathering to eat and chat. The decor is interesting with a variety of paintings on the walls, as well as a large glass window that lets in a lot of light. That leads to the only negative point - noise. The hardwood floors, ceiling, and glass make the space into an echo chamber. Since there were lots of patrons that made it very difficult to hear each other.

The service was great and the inside of the cafe is so quaint! My omelette was good, and the dessert and coffee were amazing

This is the cutest little cafe that we stopped in to for brunch recently. The service was very good and several of the menu items looked enticing. I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side salad. The salad was fresh and dressing delicious. The only reason not 5 stars is that the chicken salad was VERY salty. I love salty food but could see others finding this level of salt intolerable. Some other reviews look so good! I would love to come back and try more of the selection so I can update the review to 5 stars!

We had brunch here this morning and everything was absolutely delicious. Not one complaint. The service was great. It's a small, comfortable, homey space. We will definitely be back. This was the best brunch we've had in a long time.

My daughter and three young grandsons and I had an absolutely wonderful brunch here this morning! My daughter got her usual breakfast - the fondue potatoes and eggs. She loves that dish. She ordered the grilled cheese and potatoes, French toast, and scrambled egg whites and potatoes for the boys. They really did a good job eating most of it all up. On typical outings with them, they barely touch their food so I was impressed on how quickly they gobbled this up. It was my first time there but I quickly settled on the corned beef Benedict. It was so good, and I loved that it came on a nice piece of sourdough - I never order Eggs Benedict because I don't really like English muffins that much. Anyway, this was really very good and I will likely order it again next time. It's a cute and quite small place, but the staff was very accommodating and efficient. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch and I can't wait to go there again sometime.

Lemon Pound Cake French Toast & Breakfast Sandwich with Potatoes

This cafe is a hole in the wall that I've driven past countless times in my life until I finally decided to stop in and I'm so glad I did! I've had the lemon pound cake French toast and it was amazing as well as the breakfast sandwich. I'd recommend getting the breakfast sandwich with bacon or sausage on it since it might give the sandwich the little piece I felt was missing. The cafe is tight on space and it appeared as though they had only one chef in the kitchen, however the staff was all nice and were able to seat us quickly on a Saturday for brunch. Additionally, the food got out to us relatively quickly despite the number of customers in the cafe. I'll definitely be returning here in the near future to try more!

Busy street corner but service was wonderful and it was nice to sit out in the sun. The French toast on challah bread was amazing. Perfectly fluffy with raspberries and fresh whipped cream - no regrets! Had a latte as well that was decent. Open for dine in and outdoor dining!

    A special, the duck l'orange

We love that this tiny restaurant is close by and while there are only about 10-12 tables, it's cozy and comfortable and is a BYOB, our favorite. Another plus is that the menu seems to be different from other restaurants with a variety of French dishes, and we appreciate that they are trying. Additionally, our server was warm and attentive. We started our meal with the roasted grape and arugula salad which was big enough to share. I decided to try the special which was the duck l'orange. I immediately had buyer's remorse as the portion was small and not very moist and had the skin on top. There were no sides except for the orange pieces and a bit of cabbage. Just an okay dish. My husband had the chicken and burrata. He had difficulty eating it as the stems were left on the grapes, and there were many little pieces that he kept having to pick off or spit out. We may give this local restaurant another try in the future, but we'll be careful how we order.

One of the 5 tables with our handpicked wild flowers in small vases and the preset menus. Gift table in background.

We hosted a private event (30 people) here for a milestone birthday in March 2023. The food, service and ambiance were fantastic. The staff really worked collaboratively with us to customize a menu for the occasion. They are BYOB but helped with setting up the bar and had servers pouring the wine and after dinner drinks. Very reasonably priced especially considering the quality and quantity of food. Almost too much food quite frankly. The owner/manager is very easy to work with and is very knowledgeable about hosting mid-sized events. Highly recommend.

    mushroom gnocchi special

Atypical presentations, good service, tasty food, pleasant atmosphere. We had the beet & fennel salad to share (which they kindly split onto two separate plates for us without even asking), the lamb kafta (basically a lamb burger with a tasty green sauce on top and crema underneath), goat ragu tagliatelle, and mushroom gnocchi. All very nice! I would have liked a couple slices of bread to soak up the sauces. For dessert, the chocolate pot de creme seemed a bit wrong as it was more like chocolate truffles, but it was good.

I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.

I see why my first rating was a 4 on the turkey, it's good but not blowing faces. To be fair, you gotta have awfully good fixins to take a turkey to a 5 count. You want to see it but it ain't easy not being cheesy. Kovacs got good fixins but it's deli style fixins, they're not going to the county fair tryna win medals. Kovacs does come correct on the bread which is such an obvious miss for many in the area. Nice soft airy hoagie roll like ya like it. The Italian though is the winner. The meat to sandwich ratio is elite, and the meats themselves were top top. I honestly didn't take time to pinpoint what about the meats were so good cause I straight inhaled this hoagie. You may be surprised to find out that he is slinging meatball subs too, which he claims to be the crowd pleasure. After trying it for the first time, I can certainly see why. Healthy layers of cheese and you can tell he puts in time and thoughtfulness to his sauce and meatball recipes. After thinking about what we wanted in a venue, DiFabios came up as a possibility. I contacted their event planner and Alexa Agovino responded quickly. She was a pleasure to work with and guided us through the process. We had a few unusual requests. We had one vegan attendee, and one entree and the vegetables and salad fit the bill. We also wanted to have a zero-waste event. That meant no disposables (linens, tableware, etc), no single-use plastics, leftovers provided in foil containers, and kitchen waste composted as far as practical. Alexa assured us that they could accomodate all of those requirements. We also were going to bring a small speaker for a playlist and some announcements. (Welcome, etc). The day arrived. The room looked great. Our daughter made a large poster of pictures of us that was amazing and became an instant talking point. We met our servers, Diane and Ryan. They proved invaluable. Ryan even produced a phone charger which was critical since the phone was providing the music. Guests started to arrive. There were so many hugs and congratulations. It was a great party at a great venue with great servers anticipating our every need. We worked with Teresa and Alexa, to get the menu options right, main dishes and appetizers, discuss the drink options, and dessert. On the day itself, everything was ready, and the food choices were excellent. We let them know that we had a couple late cancellations, and they didn't charge for those individuals. We had a room in the rear, and a table set up with appetizers when guests arrived. The tables were arranged in rows, and we had Diane and Alex serving the entire room. They were fantastic. They took everyone's entree order - choice of salmon, chicken, or gnocchi. All three were excellent. If someone (like me!) wanted a drink from the bar, they supplied it quickly. They hustled so much! The cake was great - my kid only likes certain icing, and they complied. I highly recommend scheduling your event with DiFabio's!
